Topic: The Tragedy Of Forgetting Your Source [Seeds of Destiny Thursday April 26, 2018]
Scripture: But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18.
Thought For The Day: When you forget your Source, you forgo your success; when you forget your Source, you forgo your resources.
The Scripture makes it clear that God is the Source of all things; He is the true Source of supernatural supplies. It is important to know that it is not possible to have anything or to be anything in life without the Help of God (John 3:35).
However, one of the tragedies of life is forgetting God, who is the Source of all things. Now, there are many people who are not where you are today; And it is not because you did something special. This is why the fastest runner does not win the race at times, people with strength lose battles many times; they are highly learned personalities who are paupers, a person can be talented, still be tormented or stagnated; the truth is, what makes you what you are is being at the right place and at the right time which is the product of God’s Favour and Mercy (Ecclesiastes 9:11).
Now, what does it mean to forget your Source?
It is acting as if your strength, wisdom and ability brought you your success and resources. When we behave as if what we have is a product of our sweat and intelligence, we begin to forget our Source. Now, no one can sleep and wake up without the Help of God (Psalm 2:5). There many people who slept last night but could not wake up today.
Beloved, when you forget your Source, you forgo your success; when you forget your Source, you forgo your resources.
My counsel is, don’t ever beat your chest and say that it is your intelligence, energy, talent, connection and contact that brought you to where you are; look unto God alone as the Source of all things.
Remember this: When you forget your Source, you forgo your success; when you forget your Source, you forgo your resources.
Assignments:
1. Look away from your intelligence, connection, contacts and talents as the sources of your success in life.
2. Focus your mind and look unto God alone as your Source.
Prayer: O Lord, I refuse to look at my intelligence and connections as the reasons for my success in life. I receive the grace to look unto You only as the Source of my Success, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.
