HGTV Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines recently opened up about the possibility of expanding their family.
Chip and Joanna Gaines recently appeared on NBC’s Today Show to talk about Joanna’s new book, Home Body, but the conversation quickly shifted when the couple’s four-month-old son, Crew, was bought out onto set.
While Today show hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie held baby Crew, Joanna gushed over her son saying, “He is a gift. He really, we were talking the other day just saying how… time has just slowed down time. He has just been a gift.”
Crew was an unexpected pregnancy for the family, making him the fifth Gaines child.
In the Today show interview the couple also made hints at plans for having more children in the future.
When the hosts asked if they had plans to expand their family further given Chip’s known desire to have six kids, Joanna looked at her husband saying, he wants Crew “to have a sister.”
The interior designer continued saying, “I love the process of being pregnant, I love giving birth,” she added.
The hosts also asked Joanna how their four other children were reacting to having Crew as their new sibling given the eight-year age gap between Crew and the next youngest child.
Joanna assured the hosts that the age gap was not an issue for her family saying, “it’s easy.”
