Evangelical Leaders ‘Wittingly Propagated Lies’ about 2020 Election, Wheaton Faculty Say in Statement

More than 225 members of the Wheaton College faculty and staff have signed a statement condemning the “wicked leadership” of President Trump and also criticizing evangelical leaders who – the statement says – “wittingly propagated lies” about the 2020 election.

The statement, which addresses last week’s mob attack on the capitol building but also the controversy surrounding the election results, has been signed by 231 current and emeritus faculty and staff.

Wheaton College, located in Wheaton, Ill., is one of the most prominent and influential evangelical schools in the United States. Notable alumni include Billy Graham and Jim Elliot.

“The January 6 attack on the Capitol was characterized not only by vicious lies, deplorable violence, white supremacy, white nationalism, and wicked leadership – especially by President Trump – but also by idolatrous and blasphemous abuses of Christian symbols,” the statement says. “The behaviors that many participants celebrated in Jesus’ name bear absolutely no resemblance to the Christian teachings or ethics that we submit to as faculty and staff of Wheaton College.” Read more …

Archbishop of Wales calls for the Removal of President Trump

Church Times reports that, The Archbishop of Wales, the Most Revd John Davies, has urged the United States to remove the outgoing President Donald Trump from power before the inauguration of Joe Biden on 20 January, citing “gross, obvious, and anti-democratic” behaviour.

The 25th Amendment allows a majority of a body such as Congress to declare the president “unable to discharge the powers and duties” of their office in a written declaration. Archbishop Davies made the call in response to the storming of the US Capitol in Washington by Trump supporters on Wednesday which ended in violence. Four people were killed in the rioting.

The attack took place as Congress was meeting to certify the votes of the Electoral College and confirm President-elect Mr Biden’s victory, which Mr Trump and a Republican faction in Congress have sought to overturn on false grounds. Mr Trump had encouraged the protests in an attempt to overturn his defeat in the presidential election.

Archbishop Davies said on Thursday: “For a number of years, the President of the United States has shown himself, and has been shown by others, to be a person of questionable morals, judgement, and wisdom. He has been given to inflammatory rhetoric and intemperate, prejudicial public statements.

“Now, in recent days, he has shown himself to be possessed of a shameful self-image which, he evidently believes, permits him to ignore the democratic processes of his country and the democratically expressed will of its people. It is with such a mindset and self-image that he chose, yesterday, to incite others to engage in behaviour which has resulted in mayhem, injury, and death at the Capitol. Read more …

About WAFBEC

WAFBEC is a faith Conference born in worship and intercession designed to address eternal issues and also things that are going on in time. It is prophetic, relevant and an impartation of grace. We pray, we teach and we prophesy.
Nigeria hosts some of the largest and most powerful ministries in the world today. This did not happen by chance. It is the product of definite seeds that were sown in the country at a specific period of time in our nation’s history.
Indeed, the Bible speaks about a time to plant and a time to reap that which is planted. There was a planting season when a belief system founded upon the knowledge of certain truths within the Scriptures was established. It was a time when the weightier matters of the law were clearly taught.
Then came the time to reap; a time when people started harvesting great results from the lives of those that embraced and understood the truths while they were being sown.
Round about the early 70′s a wind of the Spirit began to blow over the land. Young men and women started to express a new belief system which they had called getting-born-again. It was known as the SU movement, fashioned after the name of the principal organization behind it – the Scripture Union. The conscience of young people had come alive and a heightened emphasis on godliness and character was established. Consequently, the hope that this new birth experience would become the moral force of the Nation was born, and the moral compass of what would later grow and develop had been set.
By the late 70′s into the early 80′s another move was initiated, it seemed headquartered in Tulsa Oklahoma under the leadership of Kenneth Hagin. It first started to sweep through campuses in institutions of higher learning such as the University of Benin, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Lagos, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, University of Ibadan, Ahmadu Bello University, Ambrose Alli University and many others.
All of which started receiving the content of this movement through the printed page.
Books like, How to be led by the Spirit of God, The Two Kinds of Righteousness, The Art of Intercession, The Faith That Moves Mountains, The Blood Covenant, How to Turn Your Faith Loose and The Authority of the Believer became must-reads. The saying; “the just shall live by his own faith” became the anthem of the day. The individual’s access to his God, as well as his ability to hear from Him directly and receive revelation knowledge from the Scriptures, was established. Simply put, the charismatic pentecostal movement had been born!
The emphasis will be on God’s Word and the move of the Spirit. There will be 70 Sessions teaching God’s Word.
The format will be teaching conferences in the morning where every aspect of the truth will be taught, followed by evening meetings where the ministration of the Word will be combined with the move of the Holy Spirit.
The morning sessions will impart the complete knowledge of the foundational truths for an effective Christian walk.
Leaders from this Movement who had acquired skills of the practice of the knowledge of the truths began to establish what is known today as mega-churches in major cities across the nation. The foundation was laid on a deep interaction with the Holy Spirit by long hours of prayer and meditation on the Word of God. We believe that the planting season is back in Nigeria and the seeds that will produce a finer harvest and a form of the Faith for years to come must be sown.
The fundamentals and the foundational truths of the Faith movement and the promise attached to them will be recaptured at the West Africa Faith Believers Convention – WAFBEC 2013.
Leaders of this movement in Nigeria will be joined by the regular speakers at the Kenneth Hagin camp meetings in the last 5 years

2020 Elections brought out the best and worse in people. Voters on both sides of the aisle were very passionate and rightfully so. “We have to be careful not to let passion turn into hate towards our brothers and sisters who may not agree with our political stance,” David said. “Our differences do not have to divide us.”

The new single “We Are One” is riding the momentum of the couple’s recent successes.

“Gonna Make It,” the couple’s break out single, has been featured on radio stations around the country, charting as high as #22 on the Gospel Internet Radio BDS chart for airplay. The duet’s album “One Touch” was named the 2020 Kingdom Image Award Best Album of the year and won a 2020 Rhythm of Gospel Award for Best Packaging.

“It was such a huge honor and privilege to get the call four years ago to produce a few tracks for David and Tiffany’s acclaimed project, One Touch. Having worked with many versatile artists, I found working with them allowed me to take music production further without boundaries,” said Chris Adams, CEO of VonJoie Music. “Their chemistry, bond, and anointing made the records shine.”

Many visit Hymn Database online as Christians Worship at Home in 2020

According to (RNS) — In 2020, we celebrated holidays at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We worked at home, attended school at home, even attended worship services at home.

Many Christians also turned to hymns for comfort at home, according to Hymnary.org.

Users of the online database doubled as the novel coronavirus closed many church buildings this spring, and the website now is nearing 40 million page views for 2020, its highest ever.

“I do think that this time we’re in when everything is turned upside down makes everybody search for meaning, opens them up to the presence of God, looking for ways to express their spirituality, so there are more people searching for such things,” said Harry Plantinga, a professor of computer science at Calvin University and founder of Hymnary.org.

“There are also just the people who aren’t going to church to worship. They’re worshipping at home and they need the resources.”

Hymnary.org is an online hymn and worship music database for worship leaders, hymnologists and music lovers, featuring more than 1 million hymns.

Plantinga founded the website in 2007, which now is funded through the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Over the past year, Hymnary.org saw a jump in users in … read more
