MESSAGE:

In Samuel 23:14-17, King David made a very expensive request. He asked for water which could cost the lives of his men. Yet they risked their lives and got it for him. How the value of that water soared! In like manner, the Kings of kings is thirsty, not just for ordinary water but for a specific, costly water. To meet His request, you may have to make a sacrifice that could cost you all you have.

A look at the lives of the mighty men of King David in 2 Samuel 23 reveals that those who will satisfy Christ’s deepest longings must be people of action. Some hundreds of people heard David express his desire for special water, yet only three moved into action. There are many hearers, but very few doers. When there is an opportunity to give or render your service in church, do you just hear or do you act? Do you act on the Word of God?

Key Point: If you find it difficult to obey God’s word, you will find it impossible to satisfy the deepest needs of the Kings of kings.

Topic: Dangers of Rebellion [DCLM Daily Manna Monday July 2, 2018]

Text: Numbers 14:40-45 (KJV)

Key Verse: “But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp” (Numbers 14:44).

MESSAGE:

We live in a world of rebellion where laws and authorities are constantly defied. People no longer desire to be governed by set rules; they want things done their way at all costs. To achieve this, they often resort to slander, protest, violence and even war.

From our text, Israel had become very rancorous and ungovernable due to their perennial unbelief that started from Egypt. In just a few days’ journey to the Promised Land, twelve spies were sent to search out the land. Ten of the spies brought back evil reports that discouraged the congregation and triggered a rebellion.
Consequently, after inciting the rebellion, they died in a plague as God eventually delivered a verdict condemning all who were twenty years and above to die in the wilderness. Also, within the extended forty years of wanderings, they took laws into their hands and went into battle without God’s approval. This led to their defeat by the Amalekites and Canaanites who dwelt in those regions.

Our present age is filled with rebellion and lawlessness. Disobedience to leadership has become a norm. Some societies are so fragmented that traditional rulers are beaten up and abducted, while political leaders are dragged out of office through mass protests of people demanding for special entitlements. Sadly, this lawlessness and disobedience to leadership is fast creeping into the Church.

We must continue in the things we have learnt, rebuke those who are rebellious so that others also may fear, and pray fervently for the Church to return to where God had placed it at the beginning.

Thought For The Day: The wages of rebellion against God’s will is sudden death.

Topic: The God Of Open Doors [Seeds of Destiny Monday July 2, 2018]

Scripture: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Thought For The Day: God is not just limited to the opening of closed doors; He also creates doors that never existed before.

Yesterday, we saw that God can always have His way, make a way, find a way or be the way (Revelation 3:6-8). This means, He is a Specialist in the opening of all kinds of doors by His Power.

Today, it is important to know that there are three ways in which God can open doors. In other words, there are three ways God operates whenever He wants to manifest Himself as the One who opens doors. It is important to know this because what you know is what you show. Now, what are these ways?

i) God can open closed doors
This means, He can open a door that was closed either for you to get out of a prison or have a breakthrough in life. When a door is closed against you, He can open it like He did for Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25-26).

ii) God can create new doors where there are no doors
God is not just limited to the opening of closed doors, He can also create doors that never existed before like He did when He divided the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-22).

iii) God can reveal unseen doors
God can also reveal a door that is available but cannot be seen. He revealed to Hagar the well that should give drink to Ishmael which she was not aware was in existence and close by (Genesis 21:18). He also revealed to Abraham the Ram that was caught in the thicket which he did not see initially. It was the same ram that Abraham used for sacrifice instead of Isaac (Genesis 22:13).

Beloved, having seen the ways God operates in opening doors, I decree that God will not only open doors for you; He will create new ones and reveal unseen doors in your life, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: God is not just limited to the opening of closed doors; He also creates doors that never existed before.

Assignments:
1. Make demands on God to create new doors or reveal unseen doors in your life.
2. Take practical steps to activate your destiny of Open Doors.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask that You create new doors, opportunities and possibilities in my life. Reveal every unseen door to me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: Be Unreasonably Committed [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Monday July 2, 2018]

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. – Proverbs 4:7-9

If you really want to get the wisdom of God, you’ll have to do more than casually read the Scriptures a few minutes a day. You’ll have to feed on them night and day. You’ll have to get rid of the rubbish you’ve been feeding into your consciousness by reprogramming your mind with the Word of God.

“Oh, Brother Copeland,” you may say, “that’s unreasonable!”

Yes it is. But consider this: A music major in college practices for hours every day. Olympic skaters spend six to eight hours a day training for their routines. They do it because they’re unreasonably committed to their goals.

The same is true for you. If you’re going to achieve the kind of spiritual excellence you’re hungry for, you’re going to have to be unreasonably committed to the Word of God.

That may well mean that you’ll have to carry a tape player around with you everywhere you go. It may mean that you’ll have your razor in one hand and your tape player in the other or a tape player in one hand and a fork in the other.

Do whatever it takes to totally saturate yourself with the Word of God. I would speak to you no differently if I were your commanding officer about to send you into combat against the best trained elite troops of a savage enemy.

You are God’s frontline assault force. You have an enemy who is doing his dead-level best to destroy you. In this crucial, all-out, no-holds-barred offensive, Satan will dispatch hell’s choicest personnel to bring you down. If you’re going to make it through in victory, you’re going to have to put yourself in training.

Be unreasonably committed. Get wisdom.

While staying at a hotel in Austin, Texas, I noticed a card lying on the desk in my room. It said:

Welcome
Our prayer is that your stay here will be restful
and that your travels will be fruitful.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, and make
His face shine upon you.

This card from the company that manages the hotel made me want to know more, so I accessed their website and read about their culture, strength, and values. In a winsome way, they seek to pursue excellence and live out their faith in the workplace.

Their philosophy reminded me of Peter’s words to the followers of Jesus scattered throughout Asia Minor. He encouraged them to demonstrate their faith in Christ in the society where they lived. Even as they faced threats and persecution, Peter told them not to be afraid, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).

A friend of mine calls this “living a lifestyle that demands an explanation.” No matter where we live or work, may we in God’s strength live out our faith today—always ready to reply gently and respectfully to everyone who asks the reason for our hope.

May our lives cause others to ask the reason we have hope.

Topic: God’s Peace [Andrew Wommack Monday July 2, 2018]

Luke 10:5 – “And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.”

Peace is the result of casting our care upon the Lord through prayer and thanksgiving. However, many people are asking God to give them peace so that their cares will leave. It doesn’t work that way. Through faith we cast our cares on the Lord, and then God’s peace comes. Christians who are lacking God’s peace have not taken their cares to the Lord and left them there. All Christians have peace. It is a fruit of the Spirit that is always present in our born-again spirits. Cares will blind us to God’s peace. When we eliminate the cares, peace flows.

Being carnally minded doesn’t just tend toward death, it is death. Likewise, being spiritually minded doesn’t just tend toward life, it is life and peace. A person who says he or she is spiritually minded and yet is experiencing death is deceived. If we would just dominate ourselves with the spiritual truths of God’s Word, we would receive only life and peace.

True peace, which comes from God, only comes by grace through faith. No one who seeks to obtain right standing with God by his own effort will ever have God’s peace. Human peace is only experienced in the absence of problems. Those who only know human peace don’t experience it very often and to a lesser degree. But God’s peace is independent of circumstances and infinitely greater in supply than any problem we could ever have. God has given us His supernatural peace to enjoy. What a blessing!

Love one another, as I have loved you. — John 15:12

As I study the subject of “separation” in the Old and New Testaments, I discover that the weight of Scripture lies in the direction of fellowship rather than separation. What is the great overwhelming evidence that we have passed from death unto life? It is love! Jesus Christ clearly was speaking of visible unity, such as can be seen by the world. His motive for praying was that the world might believe and the world might know. He prayed for unity among believers. God, who wills man’s unity in Christ, is a God of variety. So often we want everyone to be the same—to think and speak and believe as we do. Many Scripture passages could be called to witness that love is the real key to Christian unity. In the spirit of true humility, compassion, consideration, and unselfishness, we are to approach our problems, our work, and even our differences.

Prayer for the day: In a world needing Your love, let me not judge those who love You too. You have made us all so different, Father. Teach me, by Your loving Holy Spirit, compassion and true unity.
