Topic: God Has Already Done It [TREM’s Devotional Sunday April 15, 2018]

“Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119.89 KJV

Beloved, you are called to believe what God said. Believe, don’t try to understand. God’s instructions are not meant to be understood, they are meant to be believed. Each time you are reading God’s promises, He is not telling you what He wants to do. Rather, He is telling you what He has already done. Everything you need is already packaged. Your healing is already packaged. Your breakthrough is already packaged. The question is can you believe? Who has believed our report and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? (Isaiah 53:1) It is whosoever believes the report that will see the arm of God.

In Joshua 6:1, the scripture says, “Jericho was straightly shut because of the children of Israel, none went in and none went out”. Jericho was shut down to ensure that the Israelites didn’t take hold of God’s promise to them. Jericho was the city that they had to conquer, on the road to possessing their inheritance. “And the Lord said unto Joshua; See I have given into thine hand, Jericho…” (Joshua 6:2 KJV). Notice that God didn’t say “I will give”, He said, “I have given into thine hands Jericho”. In other words, it is already done.

Yes, the walls of Jericho are so thick that vehicles can drive on them, but it is already done. You cannot penetrate the walls, but Jehovah said I have given it to you and you are not going to fire a shot. You only have to go around it once a day for six days and on the seventh day, blow the trumpet. That was not conventional! How do you handle that? The enemies are all on the walls with their bows and arrows and machetes and you are telling me that I should just keep on going around. It requires believing to receive and run with such instructions.

Be determined today to believe and run with every instruction. It is already done. Just believe and receive. Your destiny will not be aborted.

Topic: Benefits Of Fasting [Teens’ Open Heavens 15, April 2018]

Memorise: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. – Matthew 7:21

16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

MESSAGE:

I know that when fasting is mentioned among teenagers, you try to cover your ears, or even say that your parents are fasting on your behalf. But nobody can fast for you; they can pray for you, but they cannot fast for you. When someone fasts, the benefits of fasting comes to them and not someone else. Don’t mind those fake prophets that say they can fast for people, they are all liars. One major benefit of fasting is that it recharges your spiritual batteries. When you fast, you become more spiritually alert, you can connect better to the Spirit of God. Because of this connection, it is easier for you to know God’s mind concerning issues and for you to receive answers to your prayers too
Fasting also has immense health benefits. The body works non-stop to breakdown the food we take in. If we keep loading the body with food at every meal time, it won’t be able to break it all down, and it will be overworked, so that when there is a battle to sickness, it is too weak to fight against it. I am an old man now, and the reason I am still as strong and healthy as I am is because of God’s grace and the fact that I fast regularly.

Action Point: Set aside a day every week to fast and pray.

Topic: The Tragedy Of Lack Of Discipline [Seeds of Destiny Sunday April 15, 2018]

Scripture: He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly. Proverbs 5:23 (The New NIV)

Thought For The Day: Until you can change yourself, there is nothing you can change.

It has been confirmed that God did not create anyone to be a waste in life. No one was created by God to be irrelevant. However, there are enemies of destiny that have the capacity to waste people’s lives on earth and make them useless. And because there is no spare life, it is important for us to make up our minds to eliminate any such enemy that can wreck our lives and destinies.

Now, one of such deadly enemies is lack of self-control.

Please note the following key thoughts on discipline and self-control:
i) There can be no destiny fulfilment without discipline
Esau lacked the discipline to control his appetite, and consequently lost his covenant destiny. He could not say, NO to his stomach, and as a result, he ruined his life.

ii) If you cannot control yourself, you can never control your destiny
If you cannot control yourself when it has to do with anger, immorality, lust, food, sleep, etc., you will never be able to control your destiny. Until you can change yourself, there is nothing you can change.

iii) Self-control is a product of mind control
If you cannot control what goes into your mind, you will never be able to control what flows through your life and consequently, you will never be able to control your destiny.

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind that your life will not be controlled by the flesh. Wake up when you need to wake up. The devil will not respect you when you do not respect your own word.

Remember this: Until you can change yourself, there is nothing you can change.

Assignments:
1. Decide to control your mind and the flow of thoughts within you.
2. Deliberately respect your will, decisions and resolutions.
3. Bring your flesh under the power of self-control.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to put my mind under control. Help me to bring all the activities of my life under the control and discipline of the Holy Spirit, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
