TOPIC: Check With The Word (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Wednesday, 4 April 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 John 4:1-3
MEMORY VERSE:
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” – 1 John 4:1
The MESSAGE:
The only sure way to know if visions, dreams or prophesies are from God is to check their consistency with the word of God. This is so because God does not contradict Himself. Consider someone who dreamt about getting married to an unbeliever. There’s no need to muse about such a dream because it definitely contradicts the word. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” In other words, subject all things to the light of God’s word. Don’t accept a prophecy, dream, vision or counsel that doesn’t measure up with the word. Just because you felt good about it doesn’t mean it came from God.
God’s word is the supreme authority –the sole standard –by which we examine whether the manifestation we see or experience, are from Him. Any vision, dream or prophesy that is not consistent with God’s word is not from God; such should be discarded.
A woman went to a false prophet because she was barren and her husband was about to throw her out. She narrated her plight to the false prophet who used diabolical means to diagnose that she needed deliverance and that the deliverance would be done by him alone in the night in His church. The woman agreed to all the dictates of the false prophet. On the day of the deliverance, the woman was alone with the false prophet in the church in the night. At exactly 3:00 am as she recounted, the false prophet undressed and said that his god instructed him to sleep with her; until this is done, there would be no solution. The woman obliged and her problem started. She suddenly noticed her tummy started bloating until she came to our service. What went wrong with this woman? First, she was overwhelmed with her problem and forgot to align the counsel of the false prophet with that of God. Second, she did not check the spirit resident in the false prophet. You will never fall to false prophets, in Jesus’ name.
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
God’s word is the supreme mirror with which we examine all things.
PROPHETIC WORD:
The story of your life shall be that of God’s grace, favour and love, as you live by the word.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Dear Father, I thank You for giving me Your word, which is the supreme authority by which I live, in the name of Jesus.
2. I overcome the pressure to lower God’s standard for my life, in the name of Jesus.
3. I receive strength to operate according to God’s word, irrespective of challenging circumstances, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Any evil prophecy given concerning my life, I annul you, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every satanically inspired dream, I cancel you, in the name of Jesus.
6. Any evil prophet anywhere, giving evil prophecies concerning my life and family, be disgraced, in the name of Jesus.
7. My God-given dreams, visions and prophecies shall come to manifestation, in the name of Jesus.
