MESSAGE:

As a teenager, your parents give you money for little things that you may want to buy in school, sometimes your uncles or aunties also come around and give you some money. How do you use all that money? Do you use it all to buy cookies and sweets or do you save some of it? Don’t be deceived by how much money you receive free of charge now, the truth is, money does not come free, people have to work for it; but the more money you save now, the more money you will have when you are old enough to start making money. Also, don’t think that you are too young to start saving, the earlier you get used to the saving culture, the easier it will be to adapt it into your lifestyle.

Take a cue from Joseph; he saved 20% of Egypt’s income when they had enough; later on when there wasn’t food in the whole world, only Egypt enjoyed abundance. Save at least 20% of any money you get from now on, at the end of every month, ask your dad to help you use the money to buy shares in a good company. If you do this consistently, your parents will be proud of you and you could be a millionaire by the time you are a university graduate.

Action Point: The Bible says that money has wings, if you are not wise with it, it will fly away from your hands.

Topic Dare To Believe God [TREM’s Daily Monday February 19, 2018]

”Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23 NKJV)

I have come your way today with an assurance from God’s word that you are coming out of every difficult situation, every challenge and every pressure the enemy might have brought your way. Beloved, If God has said ‘all things are possible’, and not some things, He means exactly that and that settles it. You may be at a crossroad right now in your life and people may have said your case is hopeless, but I come to assure you that God’s word cannot be broken. Understand that men have their limitations, but the God you serve is not limited.  He is still a God of possibilities. The last time I checked on Him, He declared that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you can ask or think. So take the limit off God and believe Him for the impossible.

In the scriptures, we are told that Abraham against hope believed God when there was nothing to believe God for. Put on your imagination! Abraham and his wife were old and stricken in age. And to worsen matters,  Sarah his wife had gone past the age of childbearing. But the word of God was waiting by the shoulder to be made manifest. Despite this human limitation, Abraham switched over into the dimension of possibility and dared to believe God. Child of God, that was the clincher! He believed that it would be as God has spoken and it came to pass. He called and saw himself as the Father of many nations even when he had no child to show for it. The plan of God is that you would function beyond every limitation in life.

As you rise in faith into the dimension of possibility, I declare that God will fill your mouth with good things and show you a token for good. He will arise on your behalf and make a way for you even where there seems to be no way. The earth shall yield her increase for you and the heavens over you shall not be shut.

Topic: Change At The Place Of Prayer [Seeds of Destiny Monday February 19, 2018]

Thought For The Day: When we experience God at the place of prayer, there is a shift in the realm of the spirit.

It is important for us to know that every time we come to the Presence of the Lord, we experience a change of life in order for us to take our place in destiny. The Presence of God changes our story and makes us take our place in life and destiny.

This was the experience of Jacob; he had a change of name and identity at the place of encounter with God (Genesis 32:24-28).

Another experience that happens at the place of prayer is a change of level (Revelation 4:1). When we experience God at the place of prayer, there is a shift in the realm of the spirit. There is a stepping up to a higher level in life and destiny.

Beloved, in order to take your place in life and destiny, the Presence of God is your sure place.

Today, I enjoin you to refuse to take your life for granted, refuse to be where the devil wants you to be, refuse to live a stagnant life. Ask for change at the place of prayer in order to take your place in life.

Remember This: When we experience God at the place of prayer, there is a shift in the realm of the Spirit.

Assignments:

1. Always have a scheduled time with God everyday especially in the early hours of the morning.

2. Ask God for change at the place of prayer.

Prayer: O LORD, I ask that You draw me close to You. Let me experience a total turnaround in my life in this season, in Jesus’ Name.

I hear the sounds like the gushing of waterfalls: Oh! Marriage is tough! I just can’t keep that vow! Now read the poem below by Ukpon Ntinse. It’s titled; THE PROMISE:

You loved me because I am young, elegant and strong.
You cherished my youth, which blossom like a flowering plant.
But time will come when the teeth, that once where white.
Will be encrusted with green and yellow muck,
And will drop off leaving the mouth wholly putrid with smell.
But don’t forget, you once kissed those lips.
Time will come when radiance on my face will fade away and the putrescence (smell) of aged stinks.

REMEMBER YOUR PROMISES!

Amazing lines! Indeed, frustration in old age is evitable, if marital love is based on beauty (the physical) or favour (riches) as the set fragrance of youthfulness and money fades. Real men and women stay faithful (today’s scripture VS 15). They don’t have time looking for other partners because they are too busy looking for new2 ways to love their own. A strong marriage isn’t magically created. When you say, I DO, it is built on a lifetime of I Dos such as: I DO love you!

I DO cherish you! I DO choose you above others! IN 2018, never let sun go down on your anger! Forget the past and begin again! A happy marriage looks like the future and not the past! Men must catch this: A woman wants a man who protects her like a daughter, love her like a wife and respect her like his mother. Forgive your partner in advance because offences will surely come.

Marriage is not 50-50. Divorce is 50-50! Marriage has to be 100-100. It is giving everything you have got. If you are not married think of tomorrow and let the above poem and God’s word teach you a great lesson today as you pray and wait on the Lord for a life partner. There shall be no marital mistakes! Topic: Put the Word First [Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Monday January 19, 2018]

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. – Proverbs 4:5-6

Recently, God has been raising up ever-growing numbers of people who are hungry. Hungry to know their Lord in a deeper way. Hungry to serve Him—in pulpits, on mission fields, in homes, in office buildings and anywhere else He might choose to send them.

They are people who simply aren’t content to find the path of least resistance and coast their way into heaven. No, they’re determined to run the race…to run, as the apostle Paul said, to obtain the prize. Spiritually speaking, they are on the road to excellence.

Are you among them?

If so, I want to share four simple words that, I believe, will enable you to run the race like a winner.

Put the Word first.

Whether your goal is to be an excellent evangelist or a first-rate engineer in the service of the Lord, it is the wisdom that comes from the Word of God that will get you there.

Jesus said it this way: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

So commit yourself right now to do whatever it takes to totally saturate yourself with the Word of God. Use every available moment to read, study, listen to and meditate on it.

I know it won’t be easy, but if you’ve made a definite decision to amount to something in the ministry of Jesus Christ and you are determined to take the Great Commission seriously, then be diligent. Put the Word first and there will surely be glorious victories ahead.

Topic: Not Enough? [Our Daily Bread 19 Monday February, 2018]

Read: 2 Corinthians 9:10–15, Bible in a Year: Leviticus 25; Mark 1:23–45

Do not forget to do good and to share with others. Hebrews 13:16

On the way home from church, my daughter sat in the backseat enjoying Goldfish crackers as my other children implored her to share. Trying to redirect the conversation, I asked the hoarder of snacks, “What did you do in class today?” She said they made a basket of bread and fish because a child gave Jesus five loaves and two fish that Jesus used to feed more than 5,000 people (John 6:1–13).

“That was very kind of the little boy to share. Do you think maybe God is asking you to share your fish?” I asked. “No, Momma,” she replied.

I tried to encourage her not to keep all the crackers to herself. She was unconvinced. “There is not enough for everyone!”

Sharing is hard. It is easier to hold onto what we see in front of us. Perhaps we do the calculation and reason there is simply not enough for everyone. And the assumption is that if I give, I will be left wanting.

Paul reminds us that all we have comes from God, who wants to enrich us “in every way so that [we] can be generous” (2 Corinthians 9:10–11). The math of heaven isn’t a calculation of scarcity but of abundance. We can share joyfully because God promises to care for us even as we are generous to others.

Prayer: Father, You take good care of me. Help me to think of others today and to share Your goodness with them.

When we believe that God is good, we can learn to open our hands to others.

Insight:

A careful reading of 2 Corinthians 9 is quite eye-opening. One of the things we see is a cycle of giving that includes the gracious giving of God, the generous giving of those who have received from God, and the giving of thanks from those who have received from God through others. The abundant giving of God is prominent (v. 8). His giving is evident in nature and other areas (v. 10). He enriches us so we can be generous (v. 11), and His gifts include grace that cannot be measured (v. 14). His ultimate gift (the gift of His Son) is “indescribable”—words are inadequate to communicate its worth (v. 15). Generous givers are next in the cycle. Having been enriched by God, the riches received are to be shared with others, especially with those in the family of God (vv. 1–5; see also Galatians 6:10). Lastly, the giving cycle continues with the giving of thanks—thanksgiving to God, the giver of every good and perfect gift. People are recipients of and conduits for God’s bounty, and God—the ultimate Giver—gets the thanks and the glory!

Mk. 1:31, “And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.”

Text: MT. 8:14-17; MK. 1:29-34; LK. 4:38-41

How did Peter’s mother-in-law minister unto Jesus and His disciples? Did she sit them down and preach to them? Certainly not. Yet sometimes people think the only way we can minister to another is to admonish them with the scriptures.

Peter’s mother-in-law apparently ministered to them by serving them. The word translated “minister” is the same word that was translated “deacon” twice in the New Testament, and “serve, served or serveth” eight times.

We can minister for the Lord by doing some of the menial tasks that many consider to be unimportant. Jesus said that even a cup of cold water given in His name would not go unrewarded (Matthew 10:42).

Many people are waiting for the important jobs to come along where they can make a big impact or receive a lot of recognition, while they pass by many lesser opportunities every day. But in the kingdom of God, we won’t be given any great opportunities until we are proven faithful in the small things (Luke 16:10).

Today, ask the Lord to show you ways you can minister to others by serving them.

Topic: Tame Your Tongue [Billy Graham’s Daily Monday February 19th, 2018]

“If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. — James 1:26

The problems of the world could be solved overnight if men could get victory over their tongues. Suppose there was no anger, no profanity, no lying, no grumbling or complaining; suppose there were no dirty stories told, no unjust criticism—what a different world this would be! The Bible teaches that a man who can control his tongue can control his whole personality.

We should ask ourselves three questions before we speak: Is it true? Is it kind? Does it glorify Christ? If we would always think before we speak, there would be much less evil speaking, and there would soon be a spiritual awakening that would sweep the church in America.

Prayer for the day: May I remember how important it is to keep a check on my tongue. I pray that my conversation this day will be pleasing in Your sight, Lord.
