In another example of free speech being denied on a university campus, Ken Ham, founder of the popular Creation Museum and Ark Encounter attractions, has been booted from speaking at Oklahoma Central University next month.

Ham’s presentation in the school’s Constitution Hall was objectionable to a campus LGBT group, which put heavy pressure on the UCO Student Association (UCOSA) and university officials to cancel the March 5 speaking engagement. In his proposed talk at UCO, Ham would have discussed the two different worldviews and their starting points when interpreting scientific evidence, as he did in his evolution/creation debate with Bill Nye “The Science Guy” four years ago.

Ham noted: “Free speech in America is under increasing attack by some very intolerant people. In this case of discrimination, I find it highly ironic that after being booked to speak in the school’s Constitution Hall, our constitutional right to free speech and the free exercise of religion, guaranteed under the First Amendment, have been denied.”

Ham added: “A small but vocal group on campus put up a fuss about my talk and the university caved in, tearing up the contract and contradicting its policies of promoting ‘free inquiry’ and ‘inclusiveness’ on campus.”

A woman who was injured and left disfigured from a church bombing in Cairo, Egypt in Dec. 2016 has not given in to discouragement and despair, and instead has said that Jesus sustained her and even appeared to her in visions.

The Christian Post reports on Samiha Tawfiq Awad’s incredible story. Awad and her husband, Qalini, were attending St. Peter’s Church on the morning of Dec. 11 when the attack occurred.

Awad was very near the explosion and was badly injured. Qalini rushed her to the hospital where she fought for her life and was very near death. She was so disfigured from the bombing that she was barely recognizable.

Despite this horrific trial, Awad says Jesus allowed her to pull through. He even gave her the grace to forgive the perpetrators.

“I remember that I saw Jesus on the ceiling when I was lying on the ground after the explosion,” she recalls.

“I would have been willing to die for Jesus,” she continued, “but the fact that He kept me alive so miraculously tells me that He wants me to live.”

Qalini echoed his wife’s faith: “The doctors might’ve given up on Samiha, but God had another plan!”

A court in Sudan has fined seven church leaders fighting a takeover of their school in Omdurman for “objection to authorities,” a church leader said.
 
The court yesterday (Feb. 5) found Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church (SPEC) elder Yohanna Tia guilty under articles 182/183 for objection to authorities and fined him 5,000 Sudanese Pounds (US$275), the Rev. Yahia Abdelrahim Nalu told Morning Star News.
 
Tia was one of 26 church leaders who have appeared in court since last week for defending a Muslim business interest’s attempt to illegally seize the Evangelical School of Omdurman, Nalu said. Seven of the church leaders were ordered to pay fines of 2,500 Sudanese pounds (US$137) each, and the other 19 were freed for lack of evidence, he said.
 
Two pastors – the Rev. Dawoud Fadul, SPEC moderator, and the Rev. Edris Kartina – were also fined 2,500 each. Church elders Adam George, Bolus Tutu and one identified only as Azhari, were also fined, along with school director Ustaz Dauod Musa Namnam.
 
Omdurman is located across the Nile River from Khartoum.
