More People Believe Departed Loved Ones Communicate Through a White Feather

Reuters/Kevin LamarqueDo departed loved ones really communicate with the living through a white feather?

More people who believe in the afterlife are convinced that a random appearance of a white feather is a way of their departed loved ones trying to communicate with them.

According to reports, more and more people are sharing their experiences on social media, specifically in the social media aggregator site Reddit, regarding their encounters with white feathers and their belief that those are a way of their departed loved ones to reach out to them.

For instance, one Redditor, who goes by the username Inous, revealed that he and his wife were walking the streets of downtown one time when they suddenly experienced a white feather hitting their face. According to the said Redditor, they were naturally surprised the following day after meeting a spirit medium they had earlier planned to visit as she asked them about a white feather.

“Which was totally random as my wife and I didn’t say anything about it to each other or any one,” Inous wrote.

Another Redditor, on the other hand, shared that he and his family recently lost someone, and, according to the incognito afterlife believer, a number of people in their family had seen white feathers in their house.

“I even found one in my wallet. I’ve found them in my bed and in the car. I was skeptical of this my entire life but I don’t know, it’s quite strange,” the unnamed Redditor posted on the site.

British news presenter Gloria Hunniford believes that the white feathers that come her way are from her daughter Caron Keating, who succumbed to…

‘Christian’ California couple deny abuse charges

David Turpin, 56, and Louise Turpin, 49, starved their children to the point that their growth was stunted, chaining them to their beds for months at a time and forbidding them from showering more than once a year or using the toilet, a prosecutor said on Thursday.

“The victimisation appeared to intensify over time,” Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin said in announcing charges. “What started out as neglect became severe, pervasive, prolonged child abuse.”

The couple were charged with torture, child abuse, dependent adult abuse and false imprisonment. David Turpin was also charged with performing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14.

The litany of abuses was enough to invoke a house of horrors that apparently went unnoticed for years in California and Texas until Sunday, when a 17-year-old girl managed to escape and call the police.

The girl and her siblings had plotted the escape for two years, Mr Hestrin said. Another girl who escaped out a window with the teen turned back out of fear.

Mr Hestrin did not say what finally triggered the girl to act.

When officers arrived at the house on Sunday in Perris, about 60 miles southeast of Los Angeles, they were shocked by what they found.

The children’s malnutrition was so severe that it was consistent with muscle wasting and had led to cognitive impairment…

Fortnum & Mason adds Adam and Steve to Garden of Eden biscuit tin

Fortnum & Mason has unveiled an ‘Adam and Steve Circular Biscuit Box’ which features two men holding an apple and standing by the Serpent.

The design seems to contradict Genesis Chapter 2 which explains how God said it was not good for Adam to be alone, so he created a helper suitable for him – Eve.

Two alternative designs for the tins, which contained gingerbread biscuits, feature two women – named Eve and Niamh – and Adam and Eve.

Fortnum & Mason, which operates a flagship store on Piccadilly in central London, marketed the tins for Valentine’s Day next month.

Fortnum & Mason

The products were described by Fortnum & Mason as “baked to perfection to make a most memorable and, indeed, delicious gift for your loved one this Valentine’s Day.”

The sweet treat range appears to take inspiration from the Christian slogan “God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”.

Should You Count Online Viewers as Worship Attendees?

Podcast Episode #399

SUBSCRIBE: iTunesRSSStitcherTuneIn RadioGoogle Play • iHeart Radio

After the discussion surrounding a blog post earlier this week, we look at the pertinent question surrounding the topic of the internet church: should you count them in your weekly worship number?

Some highlights from today’s episode include:

  • If you lower the importance of gathered worship, don’t be surprised if people
  • There is a high correlation of attendance and giving.
  • People who attend worship more regularly give more regularly and give more per person.
  • The digital church is more relatable to digital natives (younger generations).
  • You should not count online viewers as worship attendees—but you should track them.
  • A church’s online community is not nearly as engaged as its physical community.

The six considerations we cover are:

  1. Any church can have digital worship services with technology today.
  2. More church leaders are asking if the virtual or Internet attendance should be counted.
  3. The theological debates about the digital church are increasing.
  4. Some churches are reporting a decline in physical attendance as they provide virtual attendance venues.
  5. Churches are reporting mixed results about giving among virtual attenders.
  6. This issue will be generational to some degree.

He has been named in reports as Tom Field and has been released pending further investigation.

The Field family has asked for privacy and father Ian told The Times: “We are deeply distressed with the investigation.

“We are co-operating fully with authorities and ask for privacy at this difficult time.”

A death certificate has shown that the death of Mr Farquhar, a retired teacher and university lecturer, was ruled as an accident at an inquest held in November 2015 by retired Buckinghamshire coroner Richard Hulett who found that he died of “acute alcohol intoxication”.

Self-Help Tips in Battling the Most Common Mental Health Issue

Reuters/File PhotoAccording to the World Health Organization, more than 300 million people from around the globe suffer from depression.

While some individuals seek the help of professionals to help with their depression, one does not always need to see a psychiatrist to help him combat the most common mental health issue.

The World Health Organization (WHO) claims that more than 300 million people from across the globe suffer from depression. While this mental health issue, in its mild form, can simply mean that an individual is in low spirits, it can be life-threatening when it reaches its severe level.

The symptoms of depression can vary from one person to another, but the common denominators among the depressed individuals are continuous low mood, a lack of interest or motivation in things, irritability with others, feelings of anxiety and worry, and even thoughts of self-harm in severe cases.

While seeking clinical help does the trick, it is not the only solution to depression. In fact, according to Emer O’Neill of the Depression Alliance, there are certain things that a person can do in order to help himself battle depression.

O’Neill encourages the depressed to always look at the positive side of things. After all, allowing one’s self to feel blue will only aggravate the situation. Hence, it is important for a depressed person to be on the lookout for repetitive negative thoughts and replace them with more positive or constructive ones.

Apart from working on positive thoughts, O’Neill also advises depressed individuals to eat right. According to the depression treatment expert, a…

Bitcoin Bubble Now Bursting According To Economists

REUTERS/Benoit Tessier/IllustrationA Bitcoin (virtual currency) coin is seen in an illustration picture taken at La Maison du Bitcoin in Paris, France, June 23, 2017.

It appears that the day every Bitcoin investor dreads has finally arrived as economists warn that the cryptocurrency bubble is bursting and it has a long way to go. Many are now selling off their vast digital fortunes in favor of more traditional investments like precious metals.

Long before the cryptocurrency’s price began to lose its value, many financial experts were already echoing dire warnings that it has all the hallmarks of a classic speculative bubble. Nevertheless, as prices continued to surge many people placed their financial future on the line for a chance to strike it rich in this 21st Century gold rush.

However, as governments all over the world begin cracking down on Bitcoin and other cryotocurrencies, their value began to decline. The recent announcement made South Korea’s government ban digital currency exchanges in the country, caused massive sell-offs that rocked the market to its core, losing $200 billion off its market capitalization over the course of a few days.

Despite this, however, many cryptocurrency advocates still hold on to the idea that digital currencies can be a viable replacement to fiat currencies. This is something Capital Economics dismissed saying that claims Bitcoin and its imitators could replace established currencies as “rubbish.”

“Most people are buying Bitcoin, not because of a belief in its future as a global currency, but because they expect it to rise in value,” Capital’s…

Joyce Meyer’s Daily 19 January 2018 Devotional: God’s Love Isn’t Based on Feelings

Topic: God’s Love Isn’t Based on Feelings [Joyce Meyer’s Daily Friday January 19th, 2018]

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets free the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous [the upright in heart]. The Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow; But He makes crooked the way of the wicked. — Psalm 146:7-9

It’s impossible for human love to be unconditional like God’s love. But as believers in Jesus Christ, we have the love of God in us. We can let that love flow freely, without conditions. Our love fails, but God’s does not. Our love comes to an end, but God’s does not.

Sometimes I find that although I can’t love a person in my own strength, I am able to with God’s love. The true love of God doesn’t depend on feelings—it’s based on a decision. It’s not based on whether or not that person deserves it. And it is absolutely freeing to be able to love people without stopping to ask if they deserve it.

Human love depends on feelings. It loves people because they have been good to us or they loved us first. That kind of love comes and goes.

God’s love is totally different. It isn’t based on anything except God Himself. When we receive Christ as our Savior, the love of God is poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Pour out God’s love to others today.

Prayer Starter: God, my love may run out, but Yours never will. I will continue to draw on Your endless love so that I can give it to others, without being concerned about whether they deserve it or not.

From Joyce Meyer’s Ministries.
