WarnerMedia Says They Will Reconsider Working in Georgia if Abortion Law Is Upheld
WarnerMedia is the latest big movie studio to announce in a statement that it, too, would consider not working in Georgia if the state’s newly signed heartbeat abortion law goes into effect.
According to Variety, the studio released a statement on Thursday announcing that it is watching the situation in Georgia and is prepared to reconsider conducting business in the peach state.
The statement said, “We operate and produce work in many states and within several countries at any given time and while that doesn’t mean we agree with every position taken by a state or a country and their leaders, we do respect due process.”
It continued, “We will watch the situation closely and if the new law holds we will reconsider Georgia as the home to any new productions. As is always the case, we will work closely with our production partners and talent to determine how and where to shoot any given project.”
Netflix and Disney have also vowed to reconsider working in Georgia if the law is upheld.
Georgia’s heartbeat bill was signed into law on May 7, by the state’s governor Brian Kemp and is set to take effect on January 1, 2020, provided federal courts uphold it.
As Christian Headlines previously reported, Georgia’s law states that with the exceptions of rape, incest, and medical emergencies causing a doctor to determine a “pregnancy is…

Israel Strikes Back after Syria Launches Two Rockets Toward Israeli Territory
Israeli military forces have struck back at Syria after two rockets were sent flying towards Israeli territory this weekend.
The Israeli Air Force utilized jets and attack helicopters to strike a number of Syrian military targets after a rocket reportedly came down in the Mount Hermon area of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
“Last night, 2 rockets were launched from Syria to Israel, 1 landing within Israeli territory. In response, we struck a number of Syrian Armed Forces military targets,” the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) wrote on Twitter Sunday.
The IDF added: “We hold the Syrian regime accountable and will firmly operate against any attempt to harm Israeli civilians.”
Israel’s swift military response resulted in the deaths of a few Syrian soldiers and seven foreign fighters, according to the Guardian, quoting the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
A training facility for Iranian and Hezbollah forces, along with an arms depot, were hit by the counterstrikes, according to the Jerusalem Post.
In a statement, the IDF noted that their aerial defense systems were activated as a result of Syrian anti-aircraft gunfire, adding that “none of the rockets exploded in Israel.”
Following news of the incident, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, himself a former special forces soldier, issued a statement insisting that decisive…

Catholic politician Ann Widdecombe criticised for suggesting science may ‘produce answer’ to help people switch sexuality
The Brexit Party MEP said she had once pointed out that there was a time when it was thought gender transition was impossible.
She added: “The fact that we think it is now quite impossible for people to switch sexuality doesn’t mean that science might not be able to produce an answer at some stage.”
Ms Widdecombe has been labelled “vile” and accused of running a “sick” anti-LGBT campaign by Labour’s Luke Pollard.
He tweeted: “Utterly ashamed to be represented by this vile woman. Being gay isn’t a disease to be cured. Ann Widdecombe is continuing her sick anti-#LGBT campaign.”
Independent MP Nick Boles said: “If only science could produce an answer to the blight of poisonous bigotry that is Ann Widdecombe.”
Ms Widdecombe was asked about previous comments she had made regarding gay conversion therapy during an interview on Sky’s Sophy Ridge on Sunday.
She said: “I also pointed out that there was a time when we thought it was quite impossible for men to become women and vice versa and the fact that we now think it is quite impossible for people to switch sexuality doesn’t mean that science may not be able to produce an answer at some stage.”
Asked if she was suggesting there was a possibility that science could find a way to change sexuality, Ms Widdecombe replied: “I don’t know, I don’t know any more other than people once knew whether it was impossible for men to…

Virginia Beach Shooting Victim Gave His Life to Save At Least Eight Others
A dozen people were killed after a mass shooting broke out at a public works building in Virginia Beach on Friday and survivors are saying the number could have been much higher if it weren’t for one brave man.
According to the Wavy, survivors of the Friday afternoon shooting are saying Ryan “Keith” Cox gave his life to save theirs and others.
Christi Dewar – a city employee at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center in Building 2 – recalled that she was sitting in her office when she saw people running past her office yelling “active shooter!”
After seeing this, she, too, took off running. According to the Virginia-Pilot, Dewar and seven others ran into Cox who reportedly, instructed the group to hide in an office and barricade themselves in.
“If at all possible, I knew he was going to lead us to safety. We felt safe. He stayed calm. He didn’t have any anxious thought in his voice,” Dewar told the paper.
The shooter – 40-year-old DeWayne Craddock – was already headed for them, so they could no longer get out of the building.
Dewar recalled the moments leading up to Cox’s death saying, “He said ‘get in Lori’s office now. Barricade the office. Get in there.’” Dewar said she tried to get Cox to join them in the office, but he refused. The survivor recalled Cox calmly saying, ‘I gotta check on everybody else.’
The group…
