‘See you on Sunday’, Simon Cowell’s response to BGT comedian’s invitation to church
London comedian Kojo Anim thanked the judge for his support during the process and then asked if he would like to visit his church.
Despite initially giving a look of horror, after listening to the 39 year old’s comedy routine about long services, choirs and tithing, Cowell joked ‘see you on Sunday’.
Praising his performance, he continued: “This show is nothing without people like you.
“That was fantastic…unreal.
“You’ve worked hard to get a break. This could change your life.”
Anim has been one of the favourites of the series, and was awarded Simon Cowell’s ‘golden buzzer’ during his audition meaning he moved automatically into the semi final which he won earlier in the week.
After being given a standing ovation he narrowly missed out on a place in the final’s top three.
The show was won by Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery who won the heart of the nation with his singing.
He too was given a standing ovation for his rendition of ‘Love changes everything’.
Thackery now takes away a cheque for £250,000 and will perform at the next Royal Variety Show.

Bishop supports those demonstrating against Trump
The Rt Rev Paul Bayes, the Bishop of Liverpool, has told BBC’s Sunday Programme he thinks Christians, particularly in America, who identify with Trump are “not properly responding to what our Christian faith says they should do”.
He said: “I think this guy represents a whole bunch of things, so he represents his country, he’s head of state of a big nation with which we’ve had a warm realtionship in the past and so I do think it’s right to welcome him…in a state visit.
“In this case I’m content that we should do that because it gives us a chance to talk to this man.”
Bishop Paul continued: “I don’t agree with him, I think he’s mistaken in many of his policies, and I think that the Christians who identify with him, especially in the United States, are not properly responding to what our Christian faith says they should do. I don’t think it’s right to build walls, I don’t think it’s right to demonise and hate people, I don’t think it’s right to divide and I think this man should be told so – not only by the folks who are in the room with him on this visit but by the folks who will be on the streets outside with the blimp and all the other things.”
When asked whether he thought Trump was a Christian, he replied: “He himself says that he’s a Christian but Jesus said ‘You know people by their fruits’ and this is a guy who seems to me to be saying ‘walls are…

He said: “While in Cape Town, I sat in on a practise of the Methodist Church Choir singing traditional Wesley hymns.
“My family have been involved with Methodism for a couple of hundred years, so I was very familiar with these hymns – but this singing was absolutely amazing – I have never seen anything like it before in my life!
“I instantly wanted to invite the choir to England to bring their phenomenal sound to our festival audience.”
He went on to say that his team have arranged a week-long stay for the choir, including accommodation and travel, all paid for.
