Multi-Millionaire Atheist Accepts Jesus, Now Teaches Christians to Live Out Their Dreams

Multi-Millionaire Atheist Accepts Jesus, Now Teaches Christians to Live Out Their Dreams

Michael McIntyre never believed he would be doing what he’s doing today. Running from Christ since an early age, Michael found financial success in his insurance business. But that all changed one day when his daughter was rushed to the ER.

“One day my daughter got really really sick. We took her to the hospital and spent eight hours in the ER and it was really difficult,” he said, according to CBN News. “At the end of the day, we were exhausted – but she was OK.”

Michael came home filled with gratitude that he could take his little girl home. Remembering wisdom his mother used to share with him to always thank God, he went outside and expressed his gratitude to God over and over again for an hour.

Little did Michael know in that moment how God would radically change him. For years, Michael’s brother and over 1,000 other people had been praying for his salvation. Those prayers were about to be answered.

“That night [after the ER] I had a dream, and in this dream, this voice spoke to me in a language I did not understand. I didn’t tell my wife about it, but I called my brother to tell him about this dream,” Michael explained.

Michael’s brother’s response was to burst into tears. “You’re welcome,” he said. Michael became a Christian.

The Bible took on new meaning for Michael. He understood what it said and found…

Religious freedom charity calls for more action on persecuted Christians

The preliminary report, ordered by Mr Hunt, found Christians to be the most persecuted religious group in the world and likened their mistreatment to genocide.

Commissioned in 2018, the review was triggered by the plight of Asia Bibi – a Christian woman who spent nine years on death row for blasphemy charges in Pakistan.

Speaking to Premier, ADF International’s Executive Director Paul Coleman said: “We’d like to see the UK Government and other Western leaders not only talk about it, but actually put this report in to action and consider these countries where Christian persecution is taking place and consider what can be done.”

He added “We’d like to see real efforts being made at a political level and an international level to hold these countries to account where Christian persecution is reaching these extreme levels and to use the influence that countries like the UK and other Western countries have to effect positive change in those regions.”

Mr Coleman says the report is helpful in establishing the extreme dangers Christians face across the globe and an encouraging first step in bringing about change.

Alabama’s Near-Total Abortion Ban Signed into Law

Alabama’s Near-Total Abortion Ban Signed into Law

On Wednesday, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed a near-total abortion ban into law, effectively making it one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the nation.

“To the bill’s many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious and that every life is a sacred gift from God,” Ivey said in a statement, according to USA Today

The bill makes abortion a felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison for any healthcare provider or doctor who performs the procedure. As Christian Headlines previously reported, Republican state Rep. Terri Collins sponsored the bill and acknowledged its radical nature. “It is meant to actually use some of the same language that is addressed in Roe v. Wade. So, hopefully, it just completely takes it all the way to the Supreme Court eventually to overturn.”

The ACLU and Planned Parenthood have already mounted their legal challenges. “We haven’t lost a case in Alabama yet and we don’t plan to start now,” Staci Fox, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Southeast said. “We will see Governor Ivey in court.”

Catherine Glenn Foster, president of Americans United for Life, is in support of the ban. “Alabama has renewed the essential conversation about the meaning of justice and morality, one that starts with recognizing what abortion is: The extinguishing of a…

Marital status bigger contribution to happiness than 6 years ago

Although self-reported good health remains the biggest contributing factor to well-being, the importance of having a lifelong partner to contentment has increased.

Compared with six years ago, those asked in this survery done between October 2017 and September 2018, marital status mattered more to people.

Those who are separated from their partner or widowed were, expectedly, more likely to report lower life satisfaction, compared with people who are single.

Being married made the average person 9.9% happier than those who are widowed and 8.8% higher than those separated from a partner.

Harry Benson from the Marriage Foundation told Premier Christian Radio’s News Hour the marriage’s link to happiness was because of the security it provides: “It’s blindingly obvious that if people are secure and content at home and they’ve got someone who they know is going to stick around till their dying days, then they’re more likely to have to be content in terms of life satisfaction or happiness”.

“That act of making a commitment to one another produces real clarity, it removes ambiguity about the future, it puts you both on the same page and it does it in a way that you can do in cohabitation but fewer couples do it this way.

“It’s so much more of a deliberate, intentional act where you you both know exactly what direction you’re going and the result is that people are very, very much more likely to stay together. Most marriages work, we’ve just produced some…

Death sentences upheld in Pakistan for 3 who killed Christian couple

They also acquitted two others.

Thursday’s ruling comes five years after Christians Shahzad Masih and his wife Shama Bibi (whose memorial is pictured above) were beaten to death and thrown into a brick kiln in the eastern town of Kod Radha Krishan in Punjab province.

Shortly after the incident, police arrested scores of people and five of them were charged and sentenced to death in 2016.

Under Pakistan’s harsh blasphemy laws, anyone accused of insulting God, Islam or other religious figures can be sentenced to death.

However, domestic and international human rights groups say these laws are often misused to settle personal scores.

California Student Equates Chick-fil-A to Pornography, Calls to Ban Restaurant from University

California Student Equates Chick-fil-A to Pornography, Calls to Ban Restaurant from University

A California University board has voted to get rid of their on-campus Chick-fil-A outlet because they believe that the restaurant’s charity foundation “violates their values.”

A faculty group from California Polytechnic University has demanded that the popular outlet be axed due to its support of various faith-based organizations.

Cal Poly professor and Academic Senate Vice Chair Thomas Gutierrez explained that Chick-fil-A’s donations to “anti-LGBTQ” groups was enough to warrant its removal from university grounds. However, the fast-food chain has continued to repudiate claims that it supports anti-LGBTQ groups, noting that it donates to the Salvation Army, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Paul Anderson Youth Home.

“The work of the Foundation is committed to youth and education,” the company noted in a statement on its website, adding that they are committed to helping young people with “economic mobility” and focus on “homelessness, poverty, education and community revitalization.”

Chick-fil-A added that their charitable work is “done with no political or social agenda.”

“The narrative that our giving was done to support a political or non-inclusive agenda is inaccurate and misleading,” the company noted.

Still, the Cal Poly Academic Senate is adamant that the restaurant must go, even making…

UK must act to stop spiralling debt of world’s poorest countries, says new Christian Aid report

Meanwhile, vulture funds (the name given to funds which seek to profit by buying up high risk, high yield debt) in the UK and the US continue to profit from developing countries that are trapped in debt.

Three of the biggest root causes of debt crisis are lack of transparency, exploitative private sector actors, and ineffective, undemocratic global institutions responsible for managing debt.

These roots reach deep into the global financial centres, particularly the City of London, and the IMF and World Bank.

The UK is responsible for regulating much of the lending boom in impoverished countries, with 90% of publicly traded loans to the majority of African governments being given using English law.

Overall, while 20% of African debt is owed to China, 30% is owed to the private sector – mainly owed under UK law but due to lack of transparency we do not know the share of this held by UK-based banks.

The lack of transparency in UK law means there is not enough accountability of lending.

Christian Aid is calling for the UK to step up and meet what it say is its ‘moral responsibility to avert debt crises in developing countries that are often struggling to recover in the wake of humanitarian emergencies’.

The early 2000s saw a major round of debt relief for countries caught in a trap of debt repayments, in response to the Jubilee 2000 campaigns.

Since the western…

The One Major Unspoken Barrier to Revitalization

SUBSCRIBE TODAY:

Revitalization won’t happen in a church that doesn’t put forth the effort. Today, we discuss why some churches actually don’t try to revitalize.

Episode Highlights:

  • There are two types of job coasting: laziness and avoidance
  • Sometimes churches don’t think they need to revitalize because they compare themselves to other churches instead of realizing what they should be.
  • For churches needing major revitalization, often the pastor then end up hiring is not the pastor they actually need.
  • Most pastors don’t want to see their church die. Those who do need to check their own spiritual condition.

The points we discuss are:

  1. Simply stated, neither the members nor the pastor want to put forth the effort.
  2. Members are intensely change resistant.
  3. Some pastors have been burned.
  4. Some pastors are coasting.
  5. Common attitude #1: “Things are really not that bad.”
  6. Common attitude #2: “We will get the right pastor in time.”
  7. Common attitude #3: “We would rather die than change.”
  8. Almost all of the churches, if they seek help at all, wait too long.

Resources mentioned in this episode include:

Revitalize & Replant is sponsored by the North American Mission Board and ChurchReplanters.com. More than 10% of churches in North America are at risk of closing and the North American Mission Board is committed to reversing this trend by decreasing the death rate of existing churches while simultaneously increasing…

Alyssa Milano says she is ‘pro-life’: Abortion and biblical hope

Actress Alyssa Milano has been making headlines for years. In 2017, she was instrumental in the #MeToo movement. She has advocated for vegetarianism, supported political candidates, and crusaded against abortion restrictions. She even called for a “sex strike” to protest Georgia’s recently passed “heartbeat bill.”

Accordingly, you can imagine viewers’ surprise when Milano told Cuomo Prime Time that she is “pro-life.” She explained: “I don’t think there’s a human on the planet that is not pro-life. Nobody wants to get an abortion. Nobody. We are all pro-life.”

Then she qualified her statement: “But there are circumstances that we cannot avoid. There’s the mother’s health. There’s just not being ready, ya know, and what that means financially and for someone’s destiny. This is an economic issue.”

So, Alyssa Milano is “pro-life” unless the life of the child conflicts with “being ready,” “someone’s destiny,” or an “economic issue.”

Tragically, she speaks for many.

Producing more light than heat

The abortion ban passed by the Alabama state Senate on Tuesday was signed into law yesterday by the state’s governor. It joins “fetal heartbeat” laws recently passed in Ohio and Georgia. Numerous commentators are pointing to the likelihood that the Supreme Court will eventually determine the status of such legislation. The Court could even overturn Roe v. Wade.

As the abortion debate accelerates and the political season intensifies, it will be important for Christians to respond in ways that produce more light than heat.

To lay the foundation for such a strategy, let’s begin with David Brooks’ latest New York Times column. He notes: “A society is healthy when its culture counterbalances its economics. That is to say, when you have a capitalist economic system that emphasizes competition, dynamism and individual self-interest, you need a culture that celebrates…
