Fiona Onasanya became the Labour MP for Peterborough at the 2017 snap election with a majority of just over 600 votes.
She was booted out of the Labour Party when she was convicted of lying about driving a speeding car and became an independent MP, still voting in some of Theresa May’s withdrawal agreement votes in the House of Commons.
In April, she voted for an extension to article 50.
She tweeted on Friday: “Thank you for allowing me to be your public servant during my tenure. To those of you who sent letters, cards, messages of support – thank you.
“To those who sent racially abusive, threatening, bullying, derogatory and vulgar remarks – as advised in my video, I will clear my name and I was willing and able to continue for as long as constituents wished for me to do so.”
“Therefore, in light of the recall result, I will not be seeking to stand in the by-election”, she added that she wanted to encourage everyone to “be the change they wish to see” and posted an article with photos of her meeting constituents and attending local events in Peterborough.
In March, Onasanya posted a video in which she claimed she was innocent but did not explain how.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The word “behold” in our opening verse is very significant because it indicates your first responsibility as a new creature in Christ Jesus: you must see all things as new! If you don’t “see” that all things have become new, you’d continue with the old mentality of failure, sickness, poverty and defeat.
Perhaps you were diagnosed with an incurable ailment before you were born again; that sickness or disease has ceased to be; it has passed away with the old life. The new you—the recreated or born again you—has the life and nature of God which is superior to Satan, sickness, disease and death. But until and unless the eyes of your spirit are enlightened to see this current reality, you may find yourself still struggling with sickness.
Perhaps you failed in everything prior to giving your heart to the Lord; all that is passed now. Refuse to go on with the same mentality of defeat and failure. Psalm 1:3 describes who you are now that you’re born again: “…a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” You must “see” this as the present truth, the present reality about your life. You’re born a success, to be ever fruitful and productive in all that you do. Have this consciousness.
God created you for the good life, and for His glory. Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC) says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Hallelujah! See that you have a glorious life in Christ, and say, “Never again to the wrong life; never again to the negative life; never again to failure and backwardness!” See only progress and success. Hallelujah!
PRAYER Dear Father, thank you for the Spirit of wisdom and understanding that’s at work in me. I see what you want me to see, and I create what I want to see in my life and environment through the power of your Spirit who lives in me. My life is full of glory, beauty and excellence. Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.
And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain.
Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage),
to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
But from those who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me.
But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter
(for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles),
and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.
THE MESSAGE:
Just as it was in the time of Paul, there are mixed-multitudes in the Church today.
These false brethren profess to know God, but they deny Him by their deeds. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good deed, rebellious, burdened with sin, ever learning yet never able to know the truth (2 Timothy 3:7).
Our reading today tells us that Paul didn’t yield to their demands nor did he compromise his faith. He maintained the truth of the gospel by refusing to yield to their influence.
The intention of these false brethren is to bring us into bondage, thereby hindering us from finishing our heavenly race. We find them everywhere today: in the Church, in the society, in our families, and even among our ministers. Watch out and beware of them. They are faithless, compromisers; members of the synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9), enemies of the gospel and men and women of counterfeit faith. By their fruits, we shall know them.
Brethren, we can overcome them by studying the word of God and meditating on it so that we will be well-rooted and grounded as the word dwells richly in us. We must never yield to the craftiness of these false brethren.
Prayer: Lord, please deliver us from the evil nets of false brethren; help us to finish this race strongly in Jesus Name.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. – 1 Corinthians 2-10
God is not full of surprises. He’s not an unpredictable being who likes to keep you guessing. Countless believers, however, have the idea He is.
“You just never know what God is going to do,” they say. They base that idea on 1 Corinthians 2:9 which says, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” They interpret that scripture to mean that God is keeping secrets from His people.
But, praise God, He isn’t!
In fact, verse 10 says He’s given us His Spirit to reveal those secrets to us! He desires for us to know everything that’s on His heart.
If you’re in the dark about God’s will for you, you don’t have to stay that way. He wants you to know about His plans and provisions for your life. He’ll show them to you if you’ll let Him.
So, don’t depend on guesswork. Determine today that you’re going to start receiving that revelation from the Holy Spirit. As you read the Word, pray in the spirit and ask Him to reveal to you the reality of the Scriptures. Ask Him to shed His light on them and show you exactly how they apply to you.
Remember: God isn’t in the business of keeping secrets from you. He’s in the business of revealing them. Take time to listen to Him and you’ll never have to settle for a life of uncertainty again.

John 6:15, ‘When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.’
Jesus ‘was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin’ (Heb. 4:15). The temptation for Jesus to submit to the crowd and exalt Himself must have been there but He didn’t respond to it. He came to do the Father’s will and not His own will (Jn. 6:38). He immediately withdrew from everyone and spent all night in prayer with His Father. Prolonged prayer is an antidote for the temptation of pride and will work a God-type of humility in your life.
In Galatians 2:20, Paul is preaching a death to self, but it is very important to notice how this death took place. Paul said he was dead through what Jesus did. He experienced this death by simply reckoning what had already happened through Christ to be so (Rom. 6:11).
There are people today who have taken the ‘dying to self’ doctrine to an extreme and, instead of being free of self, they are totally self-centered. They constantly think of self. It may be in all negative terms, but it is still self-centered. A truly humble person is one who is Christ-centered. Dying to self is not a hatred for self but rather a love of Christ more than self.
There are false religions that preach a denial of self. We need to be not just dead to self, but alive to God. A focus on the denial of self without the enthronement of Christ leads to legalism. True humility is not a debasing of self, or a hatred of self, or our accomplishments. It is simply an awareness that all that we have and are is a gift of God. Therefore, only a person who acknowledges God can operate in true humility.

The MESSAGE:
Good asked Moses what is that you have in your hand? Uriah, an obedient and loyal citizen had in his hands the letter containing detailed instructions of how he was to be eliminated by the same king to whom he was so loyal. In ignorance, he delivered it to those who wasted him. On the contrary, Moses had in his hands, a rod which became God’s instrument for multiple miracles which He used in swallowing the wickedness of the enemies of God’s people and bringing them to their knees.
Are your hands holding the staff of your ministry, or your physical and spiritual death warrant? That glass of alcohol; that pen you are using to commit fraud and destroy other people’s career with impunity; that instrument of your trade that you are using to fabricate fake goods; that steering wheel of the vehicle you are driving when you know you are drunk; that contraband good you are smuggling; the illegal or fake drugs you are selling or couriering; the Bible that you are using to preach after committing sexual immorality or fraud; that scalpel that you as a doctor are using to perform abortions. The list is inexhaustible of what can become the instrument of your physical death or evidence for your condemnation to eternal damnation.
On the contrary, your hands can become the means by which God can use you for His glory wherever you find yourself: in your place of work, at your school, home or extended family house or village, the marketplace, the streets under the bridge where drug addicts live, in the prison or hospital, your church etc.
It is important that you carefully examine your hands, your motives and the motives of those around you; and be in contact with heaven. Like in the case of Uriah, ignorance is very dangerous. Only the Spirit of God can tell you the difference. When you read, study and meditate on the word of God and listen to sermons from anointed men of God. When you pray without ceasing. When you live an uncompromising obedient life, then your spirit will be sharpened to discern the good from the evil.
Beloved, whether you find yourself at the top or at the bottom of the ladder of life, whether satisfied or dissatisfied with life, in whatever location in the four corners of the earth, I beseech you, submit your hands, your heart, your whole being for God’s use. Trust only God. Never put your trust in man; the heart of man is desperately wicked. I pray for you that the enemy will not outwit you because of your ignorance, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, it is very important to know that the Word of God is the vehicle that transports God’s people to their place of rest (Matthew 11:28).
SCRIPTURE: There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where the Word is not found, struggle continues.
Rest implies relaxation from exertion or labour. It is also relief or refreshment from worry or something troublesome. Rest also signifies calm, peace and tranquillity.
The Scripture makes it clear that there is a place of rest for the people of God (Hebrews 4:9-10). That means as children of God, we are destined for peace and tranquillity, and exempted from laborious and troublesome life on earth. It is not the will of God for His Children to pass through life in stress and tension. God has reserved a place of rest for His children; it is a place where the child of God experiences total and peaceful rest on earth even before the eternal rest in Heaven.
Beloved, it is very important to know that the Word of God is the vehicle that transports God’s people to their place of rest (Matthew 11:28). The impact of God’s Word on a person’s life is what establishes the person in a place of rest. Whenever the Word of God prevails in your life, you will step into your rest, and where the Word is not found, struggle continues.
Now, what should a child of God rest from?
i. The Cares of this World (Matt. 13:22). The child of God is expected to dwell in a realm of independence, freedom and liberty from whatever constitutes the cares of this world.
ii. Rest from anxieties, uncertainties of the future (Matthew 6:34). The child of God is expected to live in a realm of freedom from concerns and anxieties about tomorrow.
iii. The struggles and sweat of the flesh (Gen. 3:19): As a child of God you are expected to dwell in a realm in God where the flesh is no longer in charge of your life.
iv. Unprofitable, profitless human labour (Gen. 3:18): A child of God is expected to live above the realm of fruitless toils and unprofitable labour. As a child of God, you are to see the products of your labour.
v. Burdens of life (Matthew 11:28): The child of God is supposed to rest from the burdens of life. This includes rest from the pains of life and the burden of sin.
Beloved, my counsel is, endeavour to give yourself to the reading and studying of the Word, prayer and worship in order to enter your place of rest in God.
REMEMBER THIS: Where the Word is not found, struggle continues.
ASSIGNMENTS:
Let your mind rest on God’s promises from His Word always.
Do not relent in the study of God’s Word.
Cast all your burdens and cares on God.

Key Verse: “That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath” (Job 21:30).
MESSAGE:
Are the worldly rich and wise as their prosperity and sophisticated outlook suggest? Not by any chance, as the objective interpretation of Job’s treatise in the text indicates. A suffering Job admits that the wicked man is several notches ahead of the godly poor in terms of material possessions. The rich man may be swimming in luxury. But unknown to him who does not honour God, he is penciled down for divine wrath if he does not repent. Death does not respect any man as it comes at its own timing. It does not discriminate along social status, economic line, financial security, level of education and numerous other things that matter to men today.
While responding to the rebuke of his friends, Job noted that the wicked may prosper but they remain unrecognised and unrespected by God. As judge of all the earth, God will do right. Hell is the lot of every sinner at last. Whether a wicked man dies in a palace or in a dungeon, the worms that do not die and the fire that is not quenched will be his eternal companions. Thus, differences in this world are meaningless in eternity.
Job opposed his friends who argued that the wicked were sure to fall into immediate ruin and none but the wicked would face such a fate. On the basis of this principle, they condemned Job. Like him, no discerning believer should fail to realise that the punishment for sinners is terrible and greater in the world to come.
The wicked may enjoy great privileges in this life but at death, all will be worthless and forgotten. Death should hold no dread for the believer. We should look forward to it as the beginning of a glorious era with Christ.
Thought For The Day: The believers is redeemed to escape the eternal fate of the wicked in Hell.

Open Heaven 4 May 2019 Saturday MESSAGE:
When Apostle John caught the revelation of who we are in Christ, he was so excited about it. You can feel his excitement in these words he penned in 1 John 3:1:
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”
We learn from these words that the children of this world will never understand our ways. They cannot understand us, no matter how hard they try, until they come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Therefore, trying to make the children of this world appreciate or accept our lifestyle is an exercise in futility. Some Christians have compromised their faith in an attempt to achieve this impossible feat, because they want to impress the world. In spite of the miracles the Master performed – healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing lepers and other signs and wonders – the children of this world still cried “Crucify Him!” They even preferred the notorious robber, Barabbas, to the Author of life (John 18:39-40). Since they rejected our Master, don’t be shocked that they will also reject our way of life.
As sons of God, we have a birthright which our adoption accords us. Although our minds cannot fully comprehend presently the scope of what this birthright gives, we have the assurance that when we see the Lord in glory, we will understand it all, because we will be exactly like Him (1 Corinthians 2:9, 1 Corinthians 13:12, 1 John 3:2). Why is the Lord giving us this assurance? The reason is that He knows we will face challenges in life which can make us doubt the reality of our heritage as peculiar people chosen by God to be favored above others in the world, having God as our Father. Our Lord also faced this challenge in the wilderness of temptation and on the cross of Calvary (Luke 4:3-12, Mark 15:34). In the wilderness, the devil tried to make Him doubt His status as the Son of the Living God. The devil knew that God would not answer prayers inspired by satanic suggestions or borne out of the desire to satisfy a lust (James 4:3). He also knew that God would not grant a request against His perfect will (Matthew 6:10, Luke 22:42). He was therefore setting Jesus up to have His prayers unanswered when he asked Him to turn a stone into bread to approve His birthright. If Jesus’ prayers were unanswered the devil would have succeeded in making Him doubt His identity. Beloved, beware of doing things that would amount to selling your birthright as a child of God. The best way to avoid this is to consciously keep yourself away from worldly corruption and anything that defiles. Never live your life to impress anybody but your Father who is in heaven.
