The 35 year old lawyer, who was jailed for perverting the course of justice, becomes the first MP ever to be removed by the recall process, introduced by David Cameron in 2015.
Some 19,261 people signed the petition – 27.64 per cent of those eligible to take part and well above the ten per cent threshold for a recall.
The successful petition now triggers a by-election in the Peterborough constituency, in which Ms Onasanya is permitted to stand.
Ms Onasanya was first elected to Parliament as a Labour MP by a wafer-thin majority of 607 in 2017.
A year later, she was charged with perverting the course of justice after lying about a speeding offence. She was expelled by Labour after her conviction and served less than four weeks of a three-month prison sentence earlier this year.

Topic: Enjoying God’s Unlimited Grace
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10.

Grace is unmerited favour of God. Because grace is an unmerited favour of God, it means only God can give grace to man. In our lives, God wants us to enjoy unlimited grace for ceaseless favour with man. Concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible says in Luke 2:52, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man”. And in John 1:16-17, And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”. Jesus enjoyed unlimited favour with God and man through grace and because He is the grace of God personified. Tit 2:11.
One Bible character that enjoyed the unlimited grace and favour is Paul. He first enjoyed the grace of God on the road to Damascus when he encountered Jesus and was saved from his many sins and was washed by the blood of Jesus. Ever since God saved his life through this unmerited favour, he enjoyed grace till his last breath on earth. He also believed that through this unmerited favour called grace and only this can actually make one great in destiny. He believed in it and proclaimed it in the above scripture that he was what he was because of God’s grace. May you enjoy divine grace this month and beyond in JESUS Mighty Name. May the grace of God lead you into the fulfillment of your glorious destiny in Jesus Name.

THE MESSAGE:
In our text today, we encounter some Galatians who had been deceived. And Paul was astonished that they had deserted the grace of Christ and turned to a strange gospel. Anyone who leaves the pure gospel of Christ for a strange gospel will sink into disaster and destruction. Paul made this inherent danger clear in Galatians 1:8.
The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ contains everything necessary for salvation. This gospel states that Jesus Christ gave Himself humanity once and for all. Hence, when we tie ourselves to the aprons of tradition and culture, we will be indirectly attempting to nullify the finished work of Christ on the Cross (Galatians 1:4).
Be vigilant and watchful, there are strange gospels and doctrines of demons around us today coming from all directions.
They include: homosexuality, sodomy, same-sex marriage not being sins, the story of Adam and Eve alleged to be a fable, hell and heaven alleged not to be real, life ending here on earth with nothing like eternity, non-existence of God, no second coming of Jesus, no judgment day, all religions leading to God, etc. Very close to us are false visioners, dreamers, prophets and those whose bellies are their gods. Be careful and watchful not to be a victim. Learn to stick to the word of God.
Prayer: God please deliver us from strange gospels in Jesus Name.

Notice that Jesus didn’t just turn some of the stones into bread (as Satan had tempted Him to do in Lk. 4:3). We find only one instance in scripture where God created a supply to meet a need (Num. 11:21-23). Usually, the Lord simply blesses what we set our hand to do. The resources were totally inadequate to meet the need in this instance, but when the Lord blessed it, there was more than enough.
Jesus didn’t just teach the disciples, but He trained them also. He was constantly trying to involve them in these miracles. Just a matter of days later, He again asked His disciples what they could do to feed the multitude of four thousand men. It was like He was saying ‘You missed this question when I asked you how we could feed the five thousand men. Now, here are less people and more food. What would you suggest this time?’
Instead of remembering the previous miracle, they acted like they had never seen Jesus feed the multitude and they looked at their own resources again (Mt. 15:32; Mk. 8:1). Likewise, we all too often try everything we can do first and forget God’s supernatural power until all we can do is pray. Many people have missed their miracle because they never took that first step of faith and used what they had. This young lad was certainly credited with part of this miracle for offering what he had. When in need, we should seek God’s direction for something to set our hand to, and then trust Him to bless it and multiply the results of our work.

Dearly beloved, my assignment today is to draw your attention to the infallible, errorless word of God. Let us consider this scripture:
“But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me.’’ (Acts 1:8 NKJV)
The events of today in our very unstable world confirm that Jesus is coming soon, and so as a child of God, you have a responsibility to witness your faith everywhere you go. Don’t be a secret service Christian. Let people know you are saved. Remember your salvation cost God the blood of His Son and there is nothing to be ashamed about. The Apostle Paul boldly declares this fact in Romans 1:16 (KJV). He says “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first and also to the Greeks.’’
Beloved, you cannot afford to be ashamed of the gospel, because therein lies the power of God unto salvation. You also cannot afford to keep quiet in this day and hour when people are daily streaming into a godless eternity. When you talk about Jesus and His saving grace, you are witnessing your faith. You are helping to change the lives and destinies of others around you. Don’t just say it doesn’t concern me. It should concern you. The woman at the well of Samaria did not know much of the scriptures, but after her encounter with Jesus, she went to town with the little she knew and brought souls to the Kingdom. You might not be able to preach, but you can share your personal experience – that is witnessing. The woman told the people in her neighborhood her personal encounter and because they all knew her decided to come see the man who changed her story. I am sure you also have a story or an encounter to talk about. It would encourage someone to depend solely on God and before you know it, a soul is won.
I come to challenge you to take a quality decision to always share your faith. Wherever you go, let people know you are a believer. Leave people better than the way you met them even without them seeing your Bible. Become the walking, talking Bible they may ever get to know. All the woman at the well of Samaria had to say was, “come see a man’’ (John 4:29 NKJV)That was all the message she had to talk about and today, what she said about Jesus is still being preached and taught all over the world. She was a true witness.
The bible tells us in Acts 11 that Phillip and the entire Apostles witnessed their faith even in the very face of persecution. The scriptures tell us in verse 19–20 that they were scattered all over the place preaching the word and planting churches all over different cities. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene which when they have come to Antioch speak unto the Grecian preaching the Lord Jesus. What were these men preaching? They preached the Lord Jesus. Beloved, everything in the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation is all about Jesus. It is the unveiling of Jesus. When you preach and Jesus is not unveiled, faith will never come. I encourage you to preach Jesus everywhere you go. You don’t need a pulpit to preach. The world out there is your pulpit. Find the time to tell someone about Jesus and even when you reference the Old Testament, let Jesus come out of it so that people will be grounded and established in the Lord.
As I close, let me remind you that you are not here today by accident. You are here for a specific assignment. God has positioned you as light of the world, so let your light shine for all to see. I come to remind you that God does not want you to use your faith only to receive material blessings, but rather use your faith to snatch people out of the hands of the devil and by implication hell. Make Christ known in your neighborhood, office or market place. Be assured that as you labour in His vineyard, He will also labour in your vineyard.
As you go into this week, I commend you to God and the word of His grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among them that are sanctified. I bless you in Jesus name.

MESSAGE:
It was a troubling time for righteous Job as he battle to understand why the wicked would prosper and lord over the godly that was poor. It should be the other way round if God were faithful to His promises, he thought. But Job and his friends, who passed judgment on him in his distress were rather hasty in their deliberations and conclusion that God was unfair in the way He shared wealth and other things in life.
The text shows the deception that may accompany prosperity not based on righteousness or fear of God. This made Job to plead with his friends not to deny him patient and fair hearing in this matter. He said after telling his own side of the story, the “comforters” might decide to either console or mock him. He held his stand because he knew men are liable to making errors in judgment. It is only God that cannot make any mistake. He wished to lodge his complaints and wished that his complaints would make his friends to ponder and wonder on the unsearchable power of God to afflict someone that knew no evil. How wise they would have been if rather than apportioning blame of Job, they reverenced God!
We cannot account for what God does in allowing sinners to prosper and godly people to suffer. We are to adore Him for His unsearchable wisdom and power. It is evident in this text that God can, in His providence, allow the wicked to have prosperity not because He cannot judge or punish them but He is being patient with them so that His goodness may lead them to repentance. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Unrepentant sinners will be punished but saints will be consoled eternally.
Indeed, riches and prosperity can never confer joy and peace upon anyone. Only salvation in the Lord can. True and enduring riches lie in knowing and doing what pleases the Lord.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Transformation of destiny happens at the place of prayer.
Yesterday, we saw that a major proof of dedication to God is a lifestyle of prayer and study of the Word. Praying and studying the Word are very critical and essential duties of a child of God. Prayer and the Word must be combined in order to for one to become an outstanding Christian and kingdom star.
It has been confirmed that there can be no products without practice; where there is no effort, there cannot be effect, and without responsibility, there can be no possibility. This means, if we embark on the practice of prayer, there are products we are expected to see in life. Now, what are the products of prayer?
Let me give you four of them:
i. The Altar of Prayer is the Altar of Transformation.
Prayer does not only change things; prayer also changes people who pray. Prayer changes or transforms our character and makes us to be Godlike (Luke 9:29). Transformation of destiny happens at the place of prayer.
ii. The Altar of Prayer is the Altar of Consecration.
Prayer separates you from bad habits, connections and associations. Prayer purges the life of the Christian. The place of prayer is the place of consecration and sanctification (Luke 9:29, Matthew 6:13).
iii. The Altar of Prayer is the Altar of Empowerment and Manifestation.
It is not possible to be prayerful and be powerless (James 5:17-18). People of prayer are people of power; the negligence of prayer is the acceptance of powerlessness.
iv. The Altar of Prayer is the Altar of Connection to Divine Resources
Whatever is available with God is accessible at the altar of prayer – be it supernatural supplies, power, blessing, favour, etc. (Matthew 6:11). Prayer grants access to God and His treasures.
Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to be devoted to God in prayer in order to experience life transformation, consecration, empowerment and access to divine supplies.
REMEMBER THIS: Transformation of destiny happens at the place of prayer.
ASSIGNMENTS:
Make up your mind to live a prayerful life.
Resist every temptation to live a prayerless life.
PRAYER: O LORD, I ask that You rekindle the fire of my prayer altar. I ask for the grace to pray without ceasing, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: Who Can Stand When He Appears? (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 2 May 2019)

The MESSAGE:
Every human being, Christian or non-Christian, has heard about the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to this world and that the world is expecting His second coming. Let me assure you that, deep in the heart of every man who has God’s breath, there is a confirmation that His first coming signalled irreversible changes to this world and the destiny of man; and that His second coming will bring judgement and the end. Even those who deceive themselves that He is not the Son of God know that He is coming soon to judge the world and have a twisted doctrine to prepare their fold for this. But let me assure you that any preparation for Christ’s second coming outside the word of God is an exercise in futility and an open invitation to destruction beyond our understanding.
Malachi 3:2-3 gives vivid description of what will happen on that great day. To those who are not of Him, He will be a consuming fire, completely destroying. To His own, He will be a Purifier, removing impurities and a Bleach, removing stains.
If you are alive and reading this devotional this morning, it means He has not come yet and we all are expectantly waiting for His coming. Are you in Christ? I passionately appeal to you: work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12) because no man born of a woman can withstand the trial and judgement of God (Psalm 130:2). This was why God proactively appointed Jesus Christ the Righteous as our Advocate and the Propitiation of our sin (1 John 2:1). Do not deceive yourself, your outward look and the work you are doing in the house of God are not sufficient.
What then will qualify you for purification? Your heart!
Total surrender, dedication, consecration and covenanting of self to Christ.
Purity in thoughts, words and deed, even when nobody is there watching you.
Love and fear of God.
Enrolment into the Salvation Army of the Living God in your hatred for sin and satan and all he stands for your life.
Sincere love for fellow men as commanded by Jesus in Luke 10:27
Christ is coming again. That is the basis of our faith. When He comes, will He find you purifiable? Or for the consuming fire? I pray for you that you will belong to Christ in eternity, in Jesus’ name.
