Topic: Unveiling the Degrees of Faith!

Welcome to another exciting week. I hope you were blessed by the teaching of last week. This week, we shall focus on: Unveiling the Degrees of Faith!

From scriptures, we discover that faith is in degrees. We may wonder why some people’s faith produces and others don’t. The reason is because Bible faith is in degrees! In Matthew 14, Jesus was walking on the sea towards His disciples, who had earlier left in a boat. Peter saw Him and said, ‘Lord if it be Thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.’ Jesus said, ‘Come’ and Peter began walking towards Jesus on water. But when he saw the boisterous wind, he was afraid and began to sink. Then, he cried, ‘Lord, save me.’ Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said, ‘O thou of little faith, wherefore, didst thou doubt?’ (Matthew 14:27-31). The dimension of faith required to keep walking on water was not in Peter; so he began to sink. We must understand that our level of insight determines the degree of faith we operate in.

What Then, are the Degrees of Faith?

Little Faith: This degree of faith cannot confront challenges. That’s why we have to accept the responsibility of building our faith. Little faith is susceptible to doubt, when confronted by great challenges. The Bible says in the last days perilous times shall come. That is, the world will be confronted by the worst of challenges. That also goes to explain why Jesus said: I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth (Luke 18:8). The challenges will be so enormous that only those who have paid attention to developing this vital aspect of life will be found standing. As it is written: If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small (Proverbs 24:10). Thus, little insight is the reason for little faith because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

Great Faith: Great faith will always have it the way it wants it. Jesus gave us an introduction to great faith in Matthew 15. Responding to the Canaanite woman’s insistence on getting even the crumbs in her request for deliverance for her demon-possessed daughter, Jesus said: Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour (Matthew 15:28). Also, we read of great faith in Matthew 8, where a centurion came to Jesus, seeking healing for his servant. The Bible records: And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel (Matthew 8:7-10). It will always deliver great victories, command signs and put us in command. Great faith is a degree of faith we operate in when we become addicted to discoveries in the Word. We become unshakeable in any challenge of life. Great faith is taking deep root in the Word of God.

The Spirit of Faith: The God-kind of faith is when we begin to operate by the Spirit of faith. As it is written: We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak (2 Corinthians 4:13). When we operate by the Spirit of faith, we begin to command the faithfulness of God at will. At this level, we begin to speak things naturally; we are not confessing them but simply proclaiming them. For instance, Joshua and Caleb operated by this spirit. When the other ten spies began to give the people evil report, they shut them up. The Bible records: But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it (Numbers 14:24). The Spirit of faith is a reactionary force that can’t stand anything contrary to it. In the Spirit of faith realm, we operate in the violent dimension of faith where we look at challenges and deal with them as if they do not exist. Thus, the Spirit of faith is a speaking faith.

In conclusion, faith is a growing force. The Bible says: We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth (2 Thessalonians 1:3). Thus, faith has its source and strength for growth in the Word of God. In other words, our labour in the Word of God is our access to growing in faith. However, new birth is a fundamental requirement to operate in the realm of the Spirit of faith. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I know I am born again! For further reading, please get my books: Unlimited Power of Faith, Understanding the Power of Faith, Exploits of Faith and Born to Win!

TOPIC: If Anyone Is In Christ

READ: 2 Corinthians 5:9-17 King James Version (KJV)

9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

THE MESSAGE:

Today’s passage connects as a build-up to the message of resurrection. Verse 17 says: therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (ESV).

This passage brings to us the message of God’s grace, both as a privilege and a responsibility. It is a privilege because, being in Christ means total forgiveness and redemption from our sins. It means we no longer have to be afraid of the coming judgment over the rest of the world, because we have been justified through Christ (Acts 13:38 & 39).

But the grace of God also places a huge responsibility on us, the beneficiaries. A Christian who has been saved by grace, no longer lives to please himself or anyone else; he lives only to please God (verse 9). The utmost desire of the redeemed is to always bring pleasure to God’s heart.

Another responsibility that the grace of God places on us is that of persuading others (verse 11). A truly redeemed person is not contented with his own salvation alone; he pushes and labours at every opportunity, for the salvation of others. Furthermore, being in Christ means to be controlled by the love of Christ. Are you being controlled by this love?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your redeeming power at work in my life.

Luke 8:45, ‘And Jesus said, ‘Who touched me?’ When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, ‘Master, the multitude throng thee, and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?”

Matthew 9:18-20; Mark 5:21-34; Luke 8:40-48

The multitudes were thronging Jesus. That is, they were compressing, and crowding in on all sides, so it seems strange that He would ask, ‘Who touched me?’ Many people were physically touching Jesus, but this woman touched His power by faith. Many people in the crowd probably needed healing, but this person is the only one mentioned who received. The difference was the touch of faith.

If it was simply Jesus’ willingness to heal that determined whether or not the healing took place, then all of the sick in this multitude would have been healed. This instance illustrates that it’s not prayer that saves the sick, but rather the prayer of faith that saves the sick (Jas. 5:15).

Healing is governed by law and not by a case by case decision from God based on His feelings toward us. This woman received her healing by the law of faith before Jesus knew anything about her. Impassioned pleas to God will not obtain the miracle we seek. Although Jesus is touched by our feelings, it requires faith. It’s not because Jesus doesn’t know our needs or hear our cries that miracles don’t happen, but rather it’s because very few know how the law of faith works.

One of the main differences between a God-kind of faith and a natural, human faith, which everyone has, is that human faith believes only what it can see, taste, hear, smell, or feel. God’s kind of faith believes in things that cannot be seen. You must believe that you receive your answer ‘when you pray’ – not when you see the thing you’ve desired. Simply put, faith is our response to God’s ability, made complete by our actions. Trust Him completely and, because you believe, your actions will follow.

“But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” Hebrews 8:6 KJV

You may be saved and on your way to heaven but as long as you don’t know your covenant rights here on planet earth, you are going to be useless. Your life as a child of God would not be fulfilled and you would not be joyful. You may end up discouraged, frustrated, confused and intimidated. Where you should really have exercised authority, you would discover that you cannot. Why? Because you don’t know your rights! So, the devil strives to ensure that we get blind to our covenant rights and what is available to us.

Also Read: Awesome Love by Bishop Mike Okonkwo

May I declare to you today that whatever God has done or is doing or will ever do is not because of what you have done. It is because of what He has done! It is because of Him and not you. If He had not paid the supreme price for our redemption, you won’t have been saved. I always say to people who say: “Well, I found the Lord”; You didn’t find Him. He found you. He found you lost. He found you doing your thing and He decided to save you. God decided to take on human flesh for one ultimate purpose: to save you.

Beloved, if you don’t understand what has been made available to you, you would be feeling inadequate; you would be feeling like a failure and your Christianity would not be fulfilled. God did not intend that Christianity should be a struggle. He said in Mathew 11:28 “Come to me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”. Christianity should give you rest. The burden of the devil is heavy and his yoke is not easy. But the yoke that God gives to you is easy. God intends for you to have an easy life even in the midst of the storm.

Topic: He Did Much More

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses (Acts 13:38-39).

Always, I think about Jesus and His vicarious sacrifice in our behalf and I’m overwhelmed by how much He loves us. He took our place of judgment and condemnation, and gave us His nature of righteousness. In Him, not only have we been made righteous, we’ve been made the very epitome and expression of God’s righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Many think that all Jesus came to do was to save us from sin, no; He achieved much more. He saved us from our sins so we could become sons of God. His ultimate aim was to give us the God-life, the God-nature of righteousness, so we could be in fellowship with God.

When He hung on the Cross of crucifixion, we were in Him. He was made sin for us. When He died and was buried, in the mind of justice, we all died and were buried in Him. And that was the end of sin. Our sins were buried with Him. But here’s the most sublime part: on the third day, when God raised Him from the dead, we were also raised together with Him into a newness of life. Romans 6:4 says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Your past with all the failures, weaknesses, and defeat, were buried with Him. Now that you’re born again, you have a new life in Christ Jesus; a life of glory and righteousness. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Having been baptized into Christ in His death, and raised up with Him in His resurrection, I now walk in the newness of life. My past with all the failures and defeat are all gone, because I’m a new creation in Christ. Hallelujah!

TOPIC: He Is The God Of All Comfort (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 22 April 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 14-15; Luke 17:1-19

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

MEMORY VERSE: “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” – John 14:18

The MESSAGE:

The God, whom we serve, is the All in All, all sufficient One, our providential care who is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

In Psalm 24:1 and 2, the Bible clearly defines all these functions of the LORD, it says, the earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

The God whom you serve is the rightful owner of all things. And once you belong to Him, He satisfies you in all aspects of life –in health and financial life and indeed all comfortless.

He owns the gold and the silver and not just that, but ALL things in heaven and on earth. He has promised those who are His (The Godly) that: “Even though the young lions do lack and suffer hunger but the people that seek God shall not lack any good thing” (Psalm 34:10).

Jesus said in our Memory Verse, that He will never leave you comfortless, He said ‘I will come to you’. At the same time, in James 4:8, He said, ‘draw nearer to me and I will draw nearer to you’. This implies that, what qualifies you to enjoy all these goodies and to be in His comfort, is for you to get closer to Him, more and more! How ready are you to do this? The earlier the better.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
LET I PRAY YOU, YOUR MERCIFUL KINDNESS BE FOR MY COMFORT ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD UNTO YOUR SERVANT (Psalm 119:78).

PROPHETIC WORD:
I see you being comforted on all side according to the word of the Lord.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. O God of comfort, visit me today, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Lord Jesus, I cleave to you today for all round fulfilment.
  3. My Saviour and my Comforter, take away all my afflictions today, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. You my afflicted soul, receive healing now, by the power in the blood of Jesus.
  5. I declare today, that I am comforted on all sides.
  6. I receive total deliverance from every demon of sorrow and discomfort, in the name of Jesus.
  7. My Father, show me mercy and deliver me completely, in the name of Jesus.

DCLM Daily Manna 22 April 2019 – Deliverance from Defilement

Text: Leviticus 14:10-20? (KJV)

Key Verse: “And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation” (Leviticus 14:11).

MESSAGE:

God’s first reaction to sin, iniquity, unrighteousness or defilement is not instantaneous judgment. He offers ways out through systematic cleansing and deliverance from sin.

The passage spells out the steps that the priest was expected to take to cleanse a defiled person. Among other things, the priest was expected to take two lambs without blemish, an ewe lamb of one year without blemish and other listed materials. The priest was then expected to present him that was about to be made clean before the Lord. All the steps are towards one goal: to “make atonement” for the defiled so that “he shall be clean”. Some major things are to be noted from the passage: First, a defiled person must be willing to be made clean; second, there is a priest who is to facilitate the cleansing; third, the materials to be used for the cleansing; fourth, the activities towards the cleansing and finally, God, who approves the cleansing.

Sin defiles and stinks before the Lord. Whatever the type of sin, God cannot condone it. In His graciousness, He has made provision for the cleansing of all forms of defilements through the vicarious death of the Lamb of God (Jesus).

There are major points to note in today’s passage. The priest (preacher/evangelist) has a part to play in bringing the defiled before the Lord. The power of the blood of the Lamb cleanses all defilement. The defiled has to surrender himself for the exercise to be complete. All sins committed can be cleansed today, if the defiled is willing to repent and continue in the faith.

Thought For The Day: Redemption purchases cleansing from sin.

Seeds of Destiny 22 April 2019 Devotional — Living Beyond Your Limit Through Character

When you live beyond yourself, you live beyond your limits.

SCRIPTURE: For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psalms 5:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you live beyond yourself, you live beyond your limits.

Throughout Scriptures, we see how good or Godly character opened doors for people, and how bad character closed the door for others.

Moses is a scriptural example of a man whose good character opened the door for his destiny. Moses was literally a vagabond and a fugitive after his escape from Egypt. He had no home, no wife and no possessions. But the good character of selflessness he portrayed delivered him from the life of empty-handedness. He married Jethro’s daughter and became the manager of Jethro’s flock (Exodus 2:16-22).

Beloved, your character of compassion connects you to your portion and possession. When you live beyond yourself, you live beyond your limits. On the other hand, the lack of character equals the loss of destiny. The worth of your life is determined by the weight of your character.

Now, what does Godly character do for you?

  1. Godly character of integrity or uprightness guides life and destiny. It assists you to know the best way to go in life (Proverbs 11:3). A righteous man cannot be directionless.
  2. Godly character speaks (Genesis 30:30). Character has a voice, righteousness has a sound. Your character speaks on your behalf when a decision concerning your destiny is about to be made.

Beloved, when you love God passionately and you love your neighbour as you love yourself, then, you are on the path of Godly character.

REMEMBER THIS: When you live beyond yourself, you live beyond your limits.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Ask God to transform your character for good at the place of prayer.
  2. Desist from acts of wickedness and lovelessness

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the grace to live uprightly. Remove every trace of sinfulness or wickedness from my life Lord in Jesus’ name.

Memorise: “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:” – 2 Corinthians 3:2

Read: 2 Corinthians 3:1-3

1 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 4-6, Luke 18:18-43

MESSAGE:

Today, most teenagers haven’t really sat down to think about the reality of some relevant issues written in the word of God. They have heard people talk about topics like Christ’s second coming, the existence of hell and heaven, if asked, they would say they know what these things mean and that they believe them, but deep down, are you really convinced about these things? It is important to be clear on this because there are many wrong doctrines flying around in your generation, and if your convictions are not strong, you will be wrongly influenced.

One thing I need you to get straightaway is that, being the salt of the earth, you will not find many people like you. When you cook a cup of rice, you don’t put a cup of salt in it, you only put little salt. So also, when 100 people gather, the salt amongst them could be five, but those five must influence all the hundred rather than the other way round. Don’t let the fact that more people have a different belief from yours that can sway you away from the truth of the word of God. Stand your ground, continue to live holy and your saviour will soon influence them.

Action Point: Stand up and be an influencer for God.

1 I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 25-26, Jeremiah 23:1-15

Open Heaven 22 April 2019 Monday MESSAGE:

God’s promises to His children are great, and their scope cannot be fathomed with the human mind. This is because our God is the Almighty, the Beginning and the End of all things, the All-knowing and the All-powerful God. Colossians 1:16 tells us that all things in heaven and earth were made by Him: visible and invisible, thrones and dominions, principalities and powers. All these were created by Him and for Him. Heaven and earth adore Him, and angels bow before Him. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is the final authority, and His word is settled in Heaven. In 1 Corinthians 2:9, this great God said concerning His promises:

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Anyone who has walked with this great God and has tasted of His goodness will testify that the words of this verse are true. A cursory look at the stories of Abraham, Moses, Esther, Rehab, David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Nehemiah, Daniel, Samuel, the nation of Israel, Mary the mother of Jesus, and many others too numerous to mention also confirms this truth. Indeed, God is in the business of doing new things of great proportions in the lives of His children from generation to generation. Just as He did for those in ages past, He will visit you with a record-breaking blessing today in Jesus’s Name.

By the grace of God, I can also testify that I have experienced in my own life and ministry blessings of the proportion that eyes have not seen and ears have not heard; they are far beyond human imagination. The manifestation of God’s glory being experienced by the Church of Christ in all the nations of the world simultaneously is indeed beyond human comprehension. Therefore, I can boldly say that God’s promise in today’s Bible reading, which says that great leaders and kings shall serve children of God, is not an empty promise. It is part of our heritage as beneficiaries of God’s mercy and unmerited favour. Hallelujah! As God used great kings and powerful leaders to favour Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Daniel, Esther, Nehemiah, David and Ezra. He will do the same for you today in Jesus’ Name. Isaiah 60:5, 14 & 16 reiterated that the abundance of the sea shall be converted to you, and the strength of unbelievers shall be at your disposal. Those verses also say unbelievers will labour for your sustenance, kings will become the source of your livelihood, the children of your oppressors shall bow before you, and those who despised you shall be humbled in your presence. So shall it be in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 22 April 2019 Monday Hymn 7: My Hope Is Built In Nothingness

1 My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name

Chorus:
On Christ the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

2 When darkness hides His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

3 His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay

4 When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne
