Matthew 9:18, ‘While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.’

MATTHEW 9:18-19

Jesus could have healed this girl by His spoken word, but He did as He was requested to do. This illustrates how the Lord ministers to us according to our faith. Jesus ministered to him at the level where his faith was and didn’t rebuke his little faith (Jas. 1:5).

There is a human faith which is limited to believing only what we can perceive through our five senses. But the supernatural, God kind of faith goes beyond what we can see, taste, hear, smell, and feel. God’s kind of faith calls those things which be not as though they already were.

We exercise faith almost daily in such things as sitting on a chair and driving a car. But our faith is no better than the object in which it is placed. If I were to sit in a chair made of cardboard, I would go crashing to the ground. Regardless of how much faith I had, my faith would fall flat because the object of my faith was faulty. Hebrews 12:2, tells us that we are to be ‘looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.’ We must transfer our faith from human self reliance and independence, to reliance upon, adherence to, and trust upon Jesus Christ in all areas of our lives. Faith, in its simplest definition, is to trust, to rely, and to depend upon the resource of another. God’s Word declares that the object of our faith, Jesus Christ, can never fail or disappoint us.

Love produces faith, or is what makes faith work. We naturally trust those who we know truly love us. A revelation of God’s unconditional love for us will make faith just naturally abound in us. Are you struggling with faith? You have a deficiency in understanding how much God loves you. Let Him reveal His love to you today.

Thank God for The Cross by Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Topic: Thank God for The Cross

Dearly beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. Today, I wish you a happy resurrection morning, as we thank God for the gift of Jesus, even more so the price that He paid on the cross of Calvary for our redemption. Like I’ve always said, Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was perfectly perfect, and completely complete, and His resurrection from the grave, put a seal on the devil’s defeat. This distinguishes the Christian faith, from any other faith.

Beloved, even as we celebrate Easter on this resurrection morning, I believe it is vitally important that we have an understanding of what Christ did, and what the victory He wrought on our behalf means to us. This is very vital, so that we do not miss out on the significance of His resurrection. Easter is not a religious exercise, but Jesus’ victory over death, grave, and whatever hell has to offer. From our text this morning, Apostle Paul writing to the church in Colossae, figuratively describes what Christ’s death accomplished for the believer.

Also Read: Don’t Accept It by Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“Having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” Colossians 2:14-15 (NIV)

Look at verse 14; “having CANCELED the charge of our LEGAL INDEBTEDNESS”, now what does that mean? The word “canceled”, translated from the original Greek language, also means to wipe out or wash. Metaphorically, this connotes a removal or obliteration of whatever used to be. By “our legal indebtedness”, this agrees totally with scripture, as stated in Romans 3:23 (KJV), “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Every single one of us, prior to receiving redemption through Christ, we were all legal slaves and captives of sin. We had the overbearing weight of sin and eternal condemnation hanging over our heads, which empowered the devil to table accusations against us before the Father.

But see what Apostle Paul is saying in light of these brief explanations that have been made; Christ through His death, has utterly destroyed every thing that gave the enemy a legal hold over your life. Child of God, by the reason of the price that He paid on the cross of Calvary, the enemy can no longer bring any accusation whatsoever against you before God. In fact, he has no case against you, and so you have been discharged, acquitted, the case is closed, and there’s no appeal! That tells you that you have total victory, hallelujah!

However, that’s not the end of it; the victory that Christ wrought for you as a believer did not stop with Him stripping the devil of the rights to waylay and harass you, He went further. Apostle Paul points this out in verse 15 of our text, and I particularly like the way the Message translation captures it.

“He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross, and marched them naked through the streets.” Col. 2:15 (MSG)

Did you see that? The Bible calls them “spiritual tyrants”, having “sham authority”, and not just that, they were all disgraced publicly. In the old Roman tradition, whenever victory parades were conducted after the soldiers returned from war, their captives were dragged on the streets, naked and bound in chains to show complete dominance over their enemies. That is exactly what Christ did to the devil; He has shamed and disgraced the enemy!

Child of God what does that tell you? The enemy that you’re afraid of, is totally defeated, and is afraid of you. Jesus has won total victory for you, and there’s no more battle to fight. Rather, all that you need to do is to stand on the existing victory that Christ wrought for you, and enforce it. Enforce your victory over the devil in all areas of your life, your marriage, health, finances, business, family, and spiritual life. The devil plays on the ignorance of believers, and deceives them, this is why you must know and enforce what Christ has done for you. Stand your ground against the enemy in whatever shape or form he comes against you, and enforce your victory.

I declare over your life that you will win in all competitions of life. No devil will steal or truncate the plan of God for your life. You are Above Only and you shall never be beneath. I bless you in Jesus name.

Maranatha!

In His Royal Service,
Dr. Mike Okonkwo
The Presiding Bishop

TOPIC: Be Ye Holy (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 21 April 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 12-13; Luke 16

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Peter 1:14-25

MEMORY VERSE: “Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” – 2 Peter 3:14

The MESSAGE:

God’s foremost attribute is holiness. He is holier than the holiest. The spirit beings in heaven attest to this. Revelation 4:8 reveals the cry of the heavenly beings, “And the four beasts has each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” The Bible enjoins us as believers to be holy as the Lord our God is holy. However, it is unfortunate that many believers do not pass the holiness test nowadays.

To be holy means to be sanctified and set apart for God. It means to be consecrated and to be without contamination or defilement. It also means to be without blemish, spot or wrinkle. The key to being holy is to be unquestioningly, promptly and completely obedient to God.

God’s commandment that you be holy as He is holy is of great importance to all believers. If you obey the commandment and live a holy life, your first gain is that you will have and enjoy the abiding presence of God, indwelling presence of God and the empowering presence of God. If God be for you, who can be against you? All Bible characters that did exploits for God, fulfilled their destinies and ended well had one thing in common: God was with them. Secondly, holiness puts a permanent hedge of fire around you and leaves no doorway for the enemy and his arrows to get to you or harm you.

Holiness will qualify you for divine election for great assignment on earth. Holiness will attract heaven’s angels and divine help to you whenever you need them. Holiness will give you victory in all battles and protect and preserve you in times of danger.

Holiness will also give you access to divine secrets and make you a global solution provider. It was holiness that made Daniel decode and interpret the king’s dream. Holiness put Daniel and his three Hebrew brothers in the class of God in Babylon. The unbelievers attested that the spirit of God was with them. The king proclaimed that only the God of these Hebrews should be worshipped. Had Daniel, Meshack, Shadrach and Abednego eaten the king’s sumptuous delicacies, they would have defile themselves and would have become blind bats like the magicians and wise men of Babylon. Joseph refused the adulterous advances of Potiphar’s wife. He chose to be holy and it paid off. The presence and power of God was so much with him that he gave an accurate interpretation of Potiphar’s dream and proffered solution to a mind-boggling economic problem. Pharoah acknowledged that God was with Joseph and promoted him to be prime minister. Holiness made all these possible. The Spirit of the Living God does not dwell in a dirty and unclean vessel. The reason many young people do not have ground-breaking ideas and inventions nowadays is not far-fetched: they are not holy. God’s Spirit will depart from any life that is sexually loose, worldly, carnal and defiled. Holiness within and without is not negotiable for anyone who want to go succeed in the kingdom race, assignment and make heaven. Be ye holy!

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
HOLINESS WITHIN AND WITHOUT IS A MUST FOR A SUCCESSFUL LIFE IN CHRIST.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Your garment of holiness shall not be stained by sin.

Topic: Storms Doth Cease [DCLM Daily Manna 21 April 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Job 7:1-11 (KJV)

Key Verse: “As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work: So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me. The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: thine eyes are upon me, and I am not” (JOB 7:2,3,8).

MESSAGE:

Lewis Thomas, an American scientist, once captured a perennial human condition when he noted: “We are, perhaps uniquely among the earth’s creatures, the worrying animal. We worry away our lives, fearing the future, discontent with the present, unable to sit still”.

Many worry over conditions they cannot change, over affliction that defy solution as Job experienced. He face severe sickness that led him almost to despair. This is apparent in his utterances which include, “months of vanity”, “wearisome nights”, “my skin is broken, and become loathsome”, “my days… are spent without hope”. He seemed to expect nothing but death. He was in utter hopelessness.

Many people who find themselves in similar situations today become so worried and give up hope as if the Lord is no longer on the throne. In the face of intense suffering, they forget the awesome power at the believer’s disposal and our inalienable right to healing deliverance, freedom, dominion over Satan and all forces of darkness, as well as assurance of God for success and victory in life.

Irrespective of the pain caused by afflictions, believers must put their conditions in the right perspective. We must never forget that God cares for us, and that if He permits suffering to come our way, He will eventually make all things to work together for our benefit. We should constantly meditate on His promises and take heart, for He says, “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Storms of life do not last forever. If we persevere and put our faith in the Lord, sooner or later, the storm must cease.

Thought For The Day: Look hard enough: there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Seeds of Destiny 21 April 2019 Devotional — The Glory and Beauty of the Anointing

Topic: The Glory and Beauty of the Anointing [Seeds of Destiny 21 April 2019 Devotional]

Click HERE for Previous MESSAGES by Pastor Paul Enenche

The anointing forbids existence in shame, reproach or mockery for the anointed.

SCRIPTURE: Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Psalm 45:7.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The anointing forbids existence in shame, reproach or mockery for the anointed.

Previously, we saw that the anointing of God carries favour and opportunity. Today, we shall be looking at other dimensions of the blessing that the anointing carries and these are, glory and beauty.

The glory and beauty of God flow with the anointing (Exodus 28:40-41). It does not matter how you look, when the Oil of God comes upon you, your look changes. In our anchor scripture, God directed that the garments that should be made for Aaron and his sons were for glory and for beauty and they were to be accompanied by the anointing.

There is a climatic change that happens around the anointed. The anointing forbids existence in shame, reproach or mockery for the anointed. You are not permitted to be anointed and be a laughingstock.

Now, what are the benefits of the anointing?

i. The anointing forbids ugliness or repulsiveness: This means that the anointing makes a life attractive, beautiful, pleasant and appealing. The anointing of God on you comes to bless you not to curse you. It comes to beautify you and not to disfigure you.

ii. The anointing establishes a change of identity on the life of the anointed: The anointing changes your life and destiny into a glorious and beautiful identity.

Beloved, receive a glorious and beautiful identity by the anointing of God! I destroy any negative identity on your life by the Blood of Jesus, in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

REMEMBER THIS: The anointing forbids existence in shame, reproach or mockery for the anointed.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Ask God at the place of prayer to anoint you with fresh Oil
  2. Connect to the anointing services in Dunamis Church for a change of destiny

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask that You anoint me with fresh Oil today. Let Your anointing come on me to beautify my life and give me a glorious destiny, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Wiser than your Enemies – Open Heavens for Teens 21 April 2019

Topic: Wiser than your Enemies [Open Heavens for Teens 21 April 2019]

Memorise: “I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.” – Psalm 119:100

Read: Acts 6:8-10

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 1-3, Luke 18:1-17

MESSAGE:

Today’s bible reading tells us about Stephen who was elected as one of the deacons, not because he was educated but because he was filled with the Holy Spirit. This made available to him wisdom that surpassed the knowledge of others.

Our memory verse for today shows the link between God’s word and wisdom. This means that the closer and more open your spirit is to the bible, the wiser you become. As a Christian teenager, you need wisdom to discern between right and wrong; because in this present age, the line between these two has become blurred. You need wisdom to see through the lies and traps that the devil has placed everywhere, but you cannot have that wisdom if you do not study and memorise the word of God. It’s the magnitude of God’s word that you know that will help you know how to handle the wiles of the devil.

Prayer Point: Before you read your bible daily, ask God to fill you with wisdom from the word that you are about to read.

  1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
    In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
    Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,

  2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
    Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
    Thy justice like mountains high soaring above,
    Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
  3. To all life thou givest to both great and small;
    In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
    We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
    And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.
  4. Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light,
    Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
    All laud we would render; o help us to see;
    ‘Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.
  5. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,

Memorise: “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”- 1 Corinthians 9:16

Read: Mark 16:15-18 (KJV)

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 24, Jeremiah 22:13-30

Open Heaven 21 April 2019 Sunday MESSAGE:

Preaching the gospel is not an optional exercise for Christians; rather, it is a necessity. This is the reason why both the vision and mission statements of the Redeemed Christian Church of God are centred on soul-winning. Winning souls is the heartbeat of God and the preoccupation of Jesus Christ. The Names of Jesus such as Messiah, Savior, Redeemer and Deliverer all connote salvation or soul winning. Every action Jesus performed during His ministry here on earth was geared towards salvation. His last wishes before ascending into heaven also focused on the propagation of the good news of His gospel to every part of the world. His desire is that even people in the remotest parts of the world will hear about Him and receive the salvation He paid for with His precious Blood.

Soul-winning is the objective of the Lord’s commandment in Matthew 28:19-20, which says:

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

This commandment is such a cardinal aspect of what it means to be a Christian. In Luke 6:46, the Lord also said:

“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

The evidence that Jesus is indeed your Lord is doing whatever he commands you to do. In 1 Samuel 15:22, Prophet Samuel told King saul that to obey is better than sacrifice in the sight of God. All that God requires from you is obedience to His commandments- not partially but totally. We cannot claim to be living holy lives if we are not preaching the gospel. You cannot claim to be holy if you are not evangelising to win souls to God’s kingdom. This is so because when Mark 16:15 tells us to go and preach the gospel, it is a command, not a suggestion. A fellow who is not walking in total obedience to God’s commandments cannot claim to be living a holy life. Preaching the gospel must therefore be a daily affair for us.

Effective soul-winning includes evangelism, follow-up and welfare. You cannot evangelise, win one or two souls and assume that you are ready for heaven; you must also follow-up the souls you have won. This is why our Lord Jesus Christ said to us in John 15:16:

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:..”

Soul winning is a necessity, please take it seriously.

Open Heaven 21 April 2019 Sunday Hymn 15: Must I Go, And Empty-Handed

1 Must I go, and empty-handed,
Thus my dear Redeemer meet?
Not one day of service give Him,
Lay no trophy at His feet?

Chorus:
Must I go, and empty-handed?
Must I meet my Savior so?
Not one soul with which to greet Him:
Must I empty-handed go?

2 Not at death I shrink nor falter,
For my Savior saves me now;
But to meet Him empty-handed,
Thought of that now clouds my brow.

3 O the years in sinning wasted;
Could I but recall them now,
I would give them to my Savior,
To His will I’d gladly bow.

4 O ye saints, arouse, be earnest,
Up and work while yet ’tis day;
Ere the night of death o’ertake thee,
Strive for souls while still you may.

Passion plays set for 2020 role out

The London landmark is playing host to a passion play, like it has over the past 9 years, but the group behind it is taking things up a notch in 2020.

Performances will take place across the country with Bath, Liverpool, Horsham, Bishop Auckland, Hamilton and Worcester already confirmed.

The Wintershall Estate has licensed its Passion Script, written by Peter Hutley, to allow local artists to come together and share the gospel message with their communities.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby said “Passion Plays have been a feature of the life of our country since the Middle Ages, and for good reason

“There is no greater story than that of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I hope and pray that this Easter, you can be caught up in the story of the love of God for the world in the person of Jesus.’

Leader of English and Welsh Catholics, Cardinal Vincent Nichols said: “This Good Friday, I recall some of the last words of Pope St Paul II: “We adore and bless the mystery of the Cross of the Son of God, because it was from his death that new hope for humanity was born.”

“I warmly commend this performance of The Passion of Jesus to you and thank all those who have had a part in bringing it about.”

The Wintershall Estate says these plays are for everyone to learn more about the Easter story and it hopes the nationwide productions will inspire unity…
