MESSAGE TOPIC: THE PRAISE OF FAITH

SERVICE OBJECTIVES:

1. Understanding the praise of faith.
2. Understanding the benefits of the praise of faith.

There is a connection between praise and faith – praise is a major ingredient of faith.
People of faith are people of praise.
Anywhere faith is challenged, praise is attacked.
The buoyancy of faith is the vibrancy of praise; the bankruptcy of faith is the bankruptcy of praise.

WHAT THE PRAISE OF FAITH IS ALL ABOUT:

1. To confirm our belief in God’s Word and promises (Ps. 56:4, 10; 106:12)
   Revelation has intoxicating capacity; light births praise
2. To express our appreciation to God in advance of our expectation (John 6:11; 11:41)
3. To confirm the liveliness of our hope (Ps. 42:5, 11; 71:13-14)
   To confirm that you are not hopeless. When people are hopeless, they are praiseless.
   Even when God has not done it and you believe that He will do it, you are ecstatic.
   There can be no faith where there was no hope
4. To announce our refusal of defeat to the enemy (2Chron. 20:21-23)
5. To express our confidence in the faithfulness of God (Ps. 103:1-5; 92:1-2) When we praise in faith we are saying that we are aware that God did it before and is able to do it again

THE RESULTS OF PRAISING IN FAITH:

1. It moves God into the scene of action (2Chron. 20:21-23; Acts 16:25-26)
2. It sets confusion in the camp of the enemy (2Chron. 20:21-23)
3. It provokes God to confirm both His faithfulness and His promise (Rom. 4:19-20)
4. It accelerates the manifestation of our expectations (John 11:41-44)
5. It multiplies the acts of God in our lives (John 6:11-12)
   Appreciation releases the unction for multiplication; God multiplies His acts in the lives of the grateful

PRAYER

Father, we appreciate You for the level of tranquility, serenity and equanimity, experienced in the course of the just concluded election. To You be all the glory Lord

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

• Anybody wishing you evil, today that evil is returned upon them!
• Every arrow fired in your body, marriage and finances, be it in the day or in the night, that arrow is retrieved and refired back to sender!
• Anything you want God to do in your life, instantly, this morning, it is done!
• God is about to do something for you that is not your expectation or prayer request! He shall do for you what you did not ask for!
• Everything that looks like the devil in your life is returned back to hell!
• All those who typically use others to prolong their life, if they look for your life, they shall take your place in death
• Every temptation to serve the devil, I declare it nullified!
• Anything grounded in your life is about to rise and run!
• Anybody making life unbearable for anybody, your lineage will never recover from it!
• Whatever the devil took from you, he will return it back the way he it!
• Every finger of the devil on your life shall be paralysed today!
• To every parent here, I prophesy, no devil will touch your baby!
• Every cloud and cloak of misrepresentation over your life is destroyed; the last time you were misrepresented like that is over!
• Every spell of struggle in your life is broken now!
• Every form of addiction in your life, today is the end of it forever!

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Psalm 51:1-7

The article in the local newspaper was short but heartwarming. After attending a faith-based program on building stronger family ties, a group of prison inmates were given a rare treat of an open visit with their families. Some hadn’t seen their children in years. Instead of talking through a glass panel, they could touch and hold their loved ones. The tears flowed freely as families grew closer and wounds began to heal.

For most readers, it was just a story. But for these families, holding one another was a life-changing event—and for some, the process of forgiveness and reconciliation was begun.

God’s forgiveness of our sin and offer of reconciliation, made possible through His Son, is more than a mere fact of the Christian faith. The article’s news of reconciliation reminds us that Jesus’s sacrifice is great news not just for the world, but for you and me.

In times when we’re overwhelmed by guilt for something we’ve done, however, it’s news we can cling to desperately. That’s when the fact of God’s unending mercy becomes personal news: because of Jesus’s dying on our behalf, we can come to the Father washed clean, “whiter than snow” (Psalm 51:7). In such times, when we know we don’t deserve His mercy, we can hold on to the only thing we can depend on: God’s unfailing love and compassion (v. 1).

Today’s Reflection
Father, I’m sorry if I’ve taken Your mercy and love for granted. Thank You for this wonderful gift and privilege that I don’t deserve yet You’ve promised unconditionally.

Topic: Depression – The Enemy Of Destiny [Seeds of Destiny 28 February 2019 Devotional]

You have what it takes to deal with the battles of your life.

SCRIPTURE: And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. 1 Kings 19:3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You have what it takes to deal with the battles of your life.

Depression is a period of chronic unhappiness usually associated with low morale and inability to visualize a happy future.

It has been established that depression is the enemy of destiny; depression has killed many people. Whenever depression is at work in your life, its major assignment is to terminate your destiny and make you miserable and irrelevant in life.

This was a challenge in the life of Elijah. He called down fire from Heaven to devour the prophets of Baal, but became depressed because Jezebel threatened to kill him. This made Elijah to run away for his life.

The spirit of depression is a melancholic spirit that weighs a man down. Elijah had what it took to kill Jezebel but depression made him to run away. It was Elijah who anointed Elisha; Elisha in turn anointed Jehu, and Jehu killed Jezebel. So, the anointing to kill Jezebel originated from Elijah but he ran away from the same enemy he was anointed to slay.

God brought you into this world to tackle the very things you are running away from. If you allow yourself to be depressed and discouraged, you will begin to think that there is no need to live let alone confronting those things.

Beloved, stop running! Refuse to be depressed in life. You have what it takes to deal with the battles of your life. You have been anointed to slay what is pursuing you and you shall prevail in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: You have what it takes to deal with the battles of your life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Do not allow depression to settle in your life.
2. Take note of the challenges you have been running away from and tackle them with the Word of God.

Text: 1 Corinthians 14:6-40 (KJV)

Key Verse: “How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying” (1 Corinthians 14:26).

MESSAGE:

A man saw himself being carried to church in his dream. He saw the organist vigorously playing the organ, but no sound was heard. The choir and congregation began to sing, but their voices were not heard. Then the minister began, energetically to pray, but no tones came from his lips. The man turned in wonder to his angel guide, “you hear nothing said the angel, because there is nothing to hear. These people are not engaged in worship but only in the form of worship. Their hearts are not touched and this silence is the silence that is yet unbroken in the presence of God.”

The Corinthian church was as controversial as it was spiritually gifted. The immaturity exhibited by members in the use of spiritual gifts generated confusion and made their worship disorderly and unedifying. Apostle Paul had to call them to order and set out precepts for the proper use of spiritual gift in an orderly and edifying worship.

The church is a people called out and taken out from the evil world. The members have repented, been forgiven and cleansed from sin and given a divine nature by Christ. The worship services should thus be orderly as led by the Spirit of God for the glory of His name. There should be a laid-down pattern of worship, which must be strictly observed so that new and old worshippers could be edified. It is not supposed to be a congregation for jesting, comedians’ entertainment, talent shows or a place to compete for laurels. The worship should not be chaotic, but a solemn worship where they hear God and He hears them.

As we await the imminent return of Christ to take His saints Home, the church must preach and teach the Word, pray with unfeigned faith and praise God in the beauty of holiness.

Memorise: “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love.” – Hebrews 6:10

9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

10 So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers].

MESSAGE:

God has different ways of rewarding His people. Hebrews 6:10 says that God does not forget your labour of love. Have you been a good and well behaved teenager but it seems no one is noticing? Or maybe your parents don’t seem to realize the discipline that you exercise so as not to go wayward. Don’t worry. God sees you and He will reward you appropriately.
The word of God which is always true advices you not to be tired of doing good, keep it up; the fruits of your labour will soon manifest.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

The best rewarder is God, look up to Him for your reward, not man. Don’t stop doing good, because if you stop, then you could lose the blessings for all the good that you have done in the past. Getting into the wrong path now can cause you to lose all the good things that God has packaged for you as a reward for your faithfulness, and this will be very sad.

Key Point:

God sees all your good works and He will reward you in due season.
