Topic: Be Proactive [Joyce Meyer Devotional 18 February 2019]
For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [the leaning of your entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness] and of the love which you [have and show] for all the saints (God’s consecrated ones). — Colossians 1:4 (AMPC)
Jesus warned His disciples about all that He was to go through, because He knew it would be difficult for them too.
He said, “Pray that you won’t be tempted” (see Matthew 6:13; Matthew 26:41). He didn’t say, “Wait to pray until you have been tempted, or until you have given in to temptation.” Jesus teaches us to be proactive, which Webster defines as “acting in anticipation of future problems, needs, or changes.”
Many Israelites had already died from snake bites before the rest of them finally said, “Pray for us, Moses, for we have sinned” (see Numbers 21:4–9). They should have recognized their need for God’s help much sooner than they did!
Don’t wait until you are in trouble to seek God. Ask Him to keep you from being tempted to sin today.
Prayer Starter: Father, I need Your help in every single area of my life. Please strengthen me so I can handle everything that comes my way today. Help me to be proactive when it comes to my relationship with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Commitment according to the Cambridge English Dictionary is the willingness to give your time and energy to something that you believe in, or a promise of firm decision to do something. The quality of your commitment is what determines the magnitude of your impact in life.
It is addiction to God that qualifies you for additions from God. In Luke 5:1-7, Peter as a fisherman, was so frustrated when he went fishing until Jesus used his boat. He was a confused business man who did not know what next to do. Jesus met him and said, “Give me your boat”. He needed the platform to stand and preach.
After using it to preach, He turned Peter’s captivity. God cannot use you and you end up being useless. God used his boat and the same business man who did not have any breakthrough had a net breaking encounter. The moment Peter gave Jesus his boat, He used the boat to change Peter’s life. You cannot give God your life and your story remain the same.
John 14:21 (KJV) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Commitment born out of love is the secret for all time manifestation. Love plus commitment equals manifestations. If you love God and you are committed to that love, then you manifest His glory. Love is not in singing it; it is not in writing it but in doing it. It should show that you love God in your lifestyle, then no devil can stop you. Make sure that you are holy in your lifestyle and also be involved in the expansion of the kingdom of God — kingdom prayers, soul winning, and so on.
In my study, I discovered that you attract more blessings when you are a giver than a receiver. This is because, the moment you give, receiving is sure.
Exodus 23:25-26 (KJV) And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.
Service to God brings God into your affairs. So, serve God all the days of your life with everything in you. When you serve God, you do not pray for sickness to leave; it will just leave. There are challenges that cannot be overcome except you serve God.
Job 36:11 (KJV) If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
The prosperity you are looking for, is in Matthew 6:33. You will live in pleasure without pressure if you serve God. Service to God has nothing to do with age; you must serve God until you pass on. Once you stop serving God, you have retired and retirees are not qualified for promotion. The first acknowledged Billionaire in the history of America named, John D. Rockefeller, was a Sexton (sanctuary keeper).
Demonstrate your love for God by winning souls for Christ. Soul winning sustains health; you enjoy divine health once you are a soul winner. Let the kingdom of God be your priority and problems will depart from your proximity. We are saved by God to serve Him. Be committed to God with your time and He will give you His own life. Be committed to God with your strength and He will give you His health. Be committed to serving God with your intellect and He will give you His wisdom. Be committed to God with your resources and He will give you wealth. Make your choice.
The best time to begin is from where you are now. Use yourself, resources, time, talent, skill and everything in you to serve God. Be an addicted soul winner today. Talk about Jesus Christ to someone. As you put God first, I pray that your story must change from now in Jesus name-Amen!

Topic: Be A Receptacle Of The Word [TREM Devotional 18 February 2019]
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 KJV
The Word of God has no margin for failure and it has no margin for error. So your responsibility is to make yourself a receptacle of the Word. When the Word is being spoken, simply say: “It is for me”. Each time different vessels are being used by God to proclaim His Word, your part is to open your heart to receive. Every Word will produce after its kind. Understand also that two persons don’t carry the same anointing. God’s anointing is diverse! Therefore, don’t ever say ‘I know this person.’ Whenever anyone stands behind the sacred desk to declare God’s Word, he becomes another man. He is not the man you used to know, because he has become the oracle of God.
It is very important, therefore, that you make yourself available. Receive the Word and run with it. The Word will produce! The Word of healing will produce healing. The Word of deliverance will produce deliverance. The Word of victory will produce victory. The Word will produce a breakthrough, open doors, peace in homes, prosperity, security and the fruit of the womb. The Word will produce emotional healing. The Word will launch you into where you are going. The Word will put speed on your feet. The Word will reposition you, it will rewrite your history, it will put you on the right path and give you a fresh destiny. The Word will release the uniqueness of God that is inside you.
And this Word shall be spoken. “So shall my word be that goeth out of my mouth, it will not return unto me void…” You will no longer be confused. You will no longer be frustrated. The intentions of the wicked against you shall not stand. Evil will always bow before you and the wicked will bow at your gate.

TOPIC: Benefits of Scripture Memorisation (III) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 18 February 2019)
Bible In One Year: Leviticus 23-24; Mark 1:1-22
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Psalm 19:1-14
MEMORY VERSE: “A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!” – Proverbs 15:23
The MESSAGE:
Today, we shall conclude our discourse on the benefits of meditating on the Scripture by looking at some more benefits of this highly rewarding spiritual exercise.
Storing God’s word in your mind will help to improve and enrich your communion with God as well as to enjoy your fellowship with Him and His ways. Do you want to relate with God the way He really is? Memorise His words, meditate on them and express them to Him in thanksgiving, praise, etc day by day. Memorising God’s word will make your communion or fellowship with God more rewarding.
In addition, memorising the Scripture will make your prayer more effective and result-oriented. The Bible says that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much. One of the things that make a righteous person to avail much or produce great positive results in prayer is that it is based on and laced with the word of God. When you pray according to God’s will and speak God’s word back to Him in prayer, He is bound to answer you and give you testimonies. Believers sometimes find the need to pray in places and emergency situations where their Bibles are not available. In such a situation, anyone who has not memorised God’s word may be handicapped, but if you have stored His word in your heart, you would draw out a sword of the Spirit and triumph over the enemy as Jesus did in the wilderness.
Beloved, I strongly encourage you to store God’s word in your heart. The word of God will purify your heart and free it from the corruption and vanities of this life. The Bible says, that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. When your heart is filled with the word of God, your words will be seasoned with grace. Let me again summarise the inestimable benefits of memorising the Scripture with Charles Swindoli’s words, “I know of no other single practice in the Christian life more rewarding, practically speaking, than memorising Scripture. . . .No other single exercise pays greater spiritual dividends! Your prayer life will be strengthened. Your witnessing will be sharper and much more effective. Your attitudes and outlook will begin to change. Your mind will become alert and observant. Your confidence and assurance will be enhanced. Your faith will be solidified.” God’s words carry His power, glory and blessings. Memorise them, use them and you will experience divine transformation.
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: THE WORD OF GOD IS NOURISHMENT FOR THE SOUL; FEED ON IT REGULARLY.
PROPHETIC WORD: Jesus, the Word of life, shall speak life to every dead situation in your life.

Topic: Divine Distinction [DCLM Daily Manna 18 February 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Exodus 9:1-12 (KJV)
Key Verse: “And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children’s of Israel” (Exodus 9:4).
MESSAGE:
Well known American pastor and Bible teacher, Warren Wiersbe said: “The safest place in all the world is in the will of God, and the safest protection in all the world is the name of God”.
Pharaoh’s heart was hardened after he seemed to relent under the former plagues. But God, determined to set His chosen nation free, warned him of other impending ones, the fifth and sixth plagues. The fifth plague for the first time targeted personal property (livestock). God would stop at nothing in His determination to accomplish His divine purpose for His own.
Following this devastation plague, Pharaoh sent out spies who confirmed that the children of Israel lost not so much as one of their cattle in fulfilment of God’s earlier pronouncement to Moses. God had bound Himself by the most solemn oath to be a God to His people and deliver them. It was in pursuance of this pledge that He was their pavilion and canopy in this awful hour. Israel stood there and was safe, not only from the hail but also from the destroying sword. He was their hiding place from the storms of judgment and condemnation.
God sets His children apart in the midst of trouble and shows Himself strong on their behalf to show forth His glory. When we trust in Christ, He becomes our Refuge. This should be a great comfort for us today. While it is true that some things happen to both believers and unbelievers alike, such as aging, death and sorrow at the loss of a loved one, sincere followers of the Lord have a Rock to stand on for comfort which others do not enjoy.
The Lord knows how to deliver His own. “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverb 18:10). The souls that shelter under God’s wing, do not panic in times of pestilence and plagues.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We are secured and safe under divine covering.

Topic: The Exemption Power of the Blessing [Seeds of Destiny 18 February 2019 Devotional]
The Blessing of God carries the force of exemption; exemption from negative circumstances or situations. One of the things the blessing of God does to the blessed is that it makes their case to be different from those of others in the land.
SCRIPTURE: Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. Genesis 26:12
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be blessed is to be exempted from the negative situations of life.
The Blessing of God carries the force of exemption; exemption from negative circumstances or situations. One of the things the blessing of God does to the blessed is that it makes their case to be different from those of others in the land. When a common calamity befalls everyone in the land, the blessed are exempted. This was what happened to Isaac in Genesis 26; while there was famine in the land, he was richly blessed by God with abundant harvest.
This implies that when people around you are being confronted with negative situations like chronic singleness, barrenness, poverty, stagnation, failure, premature deaths, etc., your case is different because you are a carrier of God’s Blessing.
Sometime ago, I met a young man who came from an idolatrous family; almost everyone was a native doctor in his family. He tried every effort to go to the university but it was not possible. I prayed for him and that limitation was broken by the power of the Blessing. He went on to study Accounting in the university. That was what no one in his family has ever achieved.
Beloved, the Blessing carries an exemption power; to be blessed is to be exempted from the negative situations of life; to be blessed is to be exempted from generational curses and ancestral limitations. A blessed person is not a victim of evil. Abraham was exempted from the ancestral limitation of his family by the power of the Blessing (Genesis 12:1-5).
My counsel is, press into God until He blesses you.
Remember this: To be blessed is to be exempted from the negative situations of life.

Topic: Praying and Growing [Our Daily Bread 18 February 2019 Devotional]
Bible in a Year: Leviticus 23–24; Mark 1:1–22
Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God. – Colossians 3:17
Today’s Scripture & Insight: Jonah 4:1-11
When my friend David’s wife developed Alzheimer’s disease, the changes it brought to his life made him bitter. He needed to retire early to care for her; and as the disease progressed, she required increasingly more care.
“I was so angry at God,” he told me. “But the more I prayed about it, the more He showed me my heart and how I had been selfish for most of our marriage.” Tears welled in his eyes as he confessed, “She’s been sick ten years, but God has helped me see things differently. Now, everything I do out of love for her, I also do for Jesus. Caring for her has become the greatest privilege of my life.”
Sometimes God answers our prayers not by giving us what we want but by challenging us to change. When the prophet Jonah was angry because God spared the wicked city of Nineveh from destruction, God caused a plant to shade him from the hot sun (Jonah 4:6). Then He made it wither. When Jonah complained, God answered, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” (vv. 7–9). Jonah, focused only on himself, insisted it was. But God challenged him to think about others and have compassion.
God sometimes uses our prayers in unexpected ways to help us learn and grow. It’s a change we can welcome with open hearts because He wants to transform us with His love.
Today’s Reflection Lord Jesus, thank You for helping me grow when I pray. Help me to be sensitive to what You want for my life today.
Topic: Standing Out [Open Heavens for Teens 18 February 2019]
Memorise: “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” – Hebrews 1:9
Read: Deuteronomy 28:1-13
1 If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God.
3 Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock.
5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading trough.
6 Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be when you go out.
7 The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
9 The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name [and in the presence of] the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
11 And the Lord shall make you have a surplus of prosperity, through the fruit of your body, of your livestock, and of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.
12 The Lord shall open to you His good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
13 And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day and are watchful to do them.
Bible In One Year: Leviticus 26-27, Mark 2
MESSAGE:
The summary of Deuteronomy 28:1-13 is that you shall be outstanding. To be outstanding, you must realise that holiness is the major ingredient you need. If you live in sin like every other person, you will end up just like them.
To be outstanding, while others are committing sin, you must remain holy. While everyone loves the things of the world, you must hate and stay away from them. God said that it is those who hate iniquity and love righteousness that He will give the anointing to be above their peers to (Hebrews 1:9).
In addition, you must be devoted to whatever assignment you are given. Then you have to study hard to show yourself approved. Ensure you put the best effort into everything that you do.
Stand up! Stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.
Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep he suffers,
Away with shame and fear.
Where’re yeah meet with evil,
Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.
Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.
Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.
