Prayer and Fasting Empowers Fulfillment of Prophecy! By David Oyedepo

Prayer and Fasting Empowers Fulfillment of Prophecy! By David Oyedepo

Topic: Prayer and Fasting Empowers Fulfillment of Prophecy!

Welcome to another impactful week! I hope you were blessed by the last teaching. Today, we shall focus on: Prayer and Fasting Empowers Fulfillment of Prophecy!

From scriptures, we understand that prayer and fasting is a business for high level profiting but if we don’t know how to maximise it, we will get nothing out of it. So, it is not just listing our prayer items, it is aligning the prayer items with the will of God. It is written: And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business (Luke 2:49). So, it is business engaging in Word practice because it is for our profiting (2 Timothy 3:16). Thus, it is important for us to carry a business perspective of our walk with God as it will help us to be more productive in our engagement. Remember, not every prayer prayed is answered. To secure our answers on the prayer altar, we must pray according to His will. His will connotes His Word, so we pray according to His Word regarding the issues we are presenting. The Bible says: Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob (Isaiah 41:21). Strong reasons will come out of strong searches.

Also, as great as these prophetic words are, we have to clear the oppositions resisting the fulfillment of prophecies. This is because every great door suffers great resistances. And if we don’t clear the resistances, we will just be singing them as a song; it will never come to reality. It will just be a slogan and that is why we are up in prayer and fasting to clear oppositions off our possessions, so we can realise them (1 Corinthians 16:9). So, there is no form of resistance that can spite the authority of the combined forces of faith, prayer and fasting.

Why Then Do We Pray and Fast?

1. To Overpower all the Opposing Forces on the Path of our Glorious Destiny in Christ: The Bible says: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). So, we fast to overpower all resisting forces against our glorious destiny in Christ.

2. To Generate and Build Spiritual Strength into our Spirit man against the day of Battle: We fast to build spiritual energy reserves against the day of battle. As it is written: Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:28-31). So, waiting upon the Lord renews our strength, recharges us, re-energizes us and builds up energy reserves into our Spirit against the day of battle (Proverbs 24:10).

3. To Provoke Speedy Divine Intervention: Our God is a present help in time of need and He said He will help us. So when we experience delay, they are those forces that are against our restoration and we break them in a fast. It is written: Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rearward (Isaiah 58: 8). Hence, things answer with speed in a fast. God can answer our prayers without fasting, but whether we take delivery of the answers is another question. So, we engage in a fast to clear off the obstructions on the way, so we can take speedy delivery of what belongs to us.

Blessings that Accrue to us in Prayer and Fasting

1. Outbreak of Revelation: Every outstanding breakthrough we notice in the Kingdom is a product of outbreak of revelation. The Bible says: Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rearward. …then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday (Isaiah 58:8/10). Prayer and fasting provides a platform for outbreak of revelation. So, when revelation is bright enough, speed is the experience.

2. Empowers our Access to the High Places of Life: It is written: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it (Isaiah 58:14). So, prayer and fasting is a spiritual platform for our flight into the high places of life.

3. Empowers Speedy Fulfilment of Prophecy: Jesus was declared the son of God in Luke 3:21-22. As it is written:: Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. So, it was after fasting He took delivery of that fulfilment of prophecy. We are in the era of restoration in the body of Christ because there must be restoration of all things which were spoken by the mouth of the prophet before Jesus returns.

In conclusion, prayer and fasting will be wasteful without faith. As it is written: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Faith is our covenant signature for taking delivery of our possessions in Christ. Therefore, we must build our faith for prophecies to be fulfilled in our lives.

However, you must be born again. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”

Law of Self Discovery by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Law of Self Discovery by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Topic: Law of Self Discovery

The number one thing for you to reach your place in destiny is what I call self-discovery. Until you discover who you are, you can never recover your place in destiny. You must discover who you are, it is your discovery that determines your recovery.

Genesis 37: 11 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

There is no devil in this world that can steal your destiny once you have discovered your real self. Your real self is the God inside of you. Joseph’s blood brothers succeeded in stripping him of his coat of many colours, but they could not strip him of the God inside of him.

Also Read: Enjoying Distinction in Family by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

When Joseph became the prime minister in Egypt and revealed himself to his brothers, they expected him to do them harm, but he made them understand that they were only tools in the hands of God to make him unleash his destiny.

Genesis 45:5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

Only a man who had discovered himself could say a thing like that. Look inwards to see who you are and discover the real you. And how do you discover the real you? It is through the word of God. There cannot be any discovery until you are able to see yourself from the scriptures. You must know yourself through the pages of the word of God. What is God saying concerning you? That is the real you.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Paul declared that he could do all things, not some things, through Christ. You cannot have Christ and live in crises. You cannot have Christ and not do all things. You know why Paul could say that? He discovered the real person.

All you need is to discover who you are. What will make the difference between you and a child of God who suffers what the world suffer is self-discovery. Your true identity is in the word of God; go for it and your life will never be the same again.

God bless you

DCLM Daily Manna 17 February 2019 – Miracles Are Of God

Topic: Miracles Are Of God [DCLM Daily Manna 17 February 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: John 9:13-38 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth” (John 9:31).

MESSAGE:

In Bible days, the critics of Christ challenged Him in several ways. In the Gospel of John, they questioned His miracle ministry (5:16-18), His paternity (8:41), His integrity (7:12), etc. Their criticism was not too different from what obtains today in spite of obvious pointers to the reality.

A notable miracle had taken place but the perverse reasoning of the Pharisees placed them in a dilemma from which the only way out for them was to disprove the miracle that had been performed. They put up the argument that no miracle could have occurred because it was a Sabbath day and God would not violate His law on Sabbath rest. Yet, that position was baseless as the man was healed perfectly. Unable to disprove the man’s testimony and unwilling to confess the divine nature of Jesus, the religious authorities excommunicated him. This was good for him because if he had been allowed to stay, he would have been in danger of drifting back to the traditional ways of Judaism.

There is a streak of hypocrisy in many today, which faithful saints must scrupulously avoid. Simple faith in Christ can perform wonder. It is not by upholding religious activities and traditions that we can predict the mighty hand of God to move in certain circumstances of life.

Our God can do anything, anywhere and at anytime. He is not limited by time, space or matter. They all take their existence from Him. Strive today to always hold Him by His Word. His mercies which endureth forever are the cornerstone of the blessings we receive from Him.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is great wisdom to avoid the leaven of the Pharisees.

Our Daily Bread 17 February 2019 Devotional – Atmosphere of Encouragement

Topic: Atmosphere of Encouragement [Our Daily Bread 17 February 2019 Devotional]

Bible in a Year: Leviticus 21–22; Matthew 28

Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. – Romans 15:2

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Romans 15:1-7

I’m encouraged every time I visit the fitness center near our house. In that busy place, I’m surrounded by others who are striving to improve their physical health and strength. Posted signs remind us not to judge each other, but words and actions that reveal support for others’ conditioning efforts are always welcomed.

What a great picture of how things should look in the spiritual realm of life! Those of us who are striving to “get in shape” spiritually, to grow in our faith, can sometimes feel as if we don’t belong because we’re not as spiritually fit—as mature in our walk with Jesus—as someone else.

Paul gave us this short, direct suggestion: “Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). And to the believers in Rome he wrote: “Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up” (Romans 15:2). Recognizing that our Father is so lovingly gracious with us, let’s show God’s grace to others with encouraging words and actions.

As we “accept one another” (v. 7), let’s entrust our spiritual growth to God—to the work of His Spirit. And while we daily seek to follow Him, may we create an atmosphere of encouragement for our brothers and sisters in Jesus as they also seek to grow in their faith.

Today’s Reflection
Lord, help me today to encourage others along the way. Guide me to say what will not discourage but will spur them toward a deeper walk with You in Your love.

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 17 February 2019 – Welcome to the Big Leagues

Topic: Welcome to the Big Leagues [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 17 February 2019]

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. – Matthew 5:11-12

When persecution comes, don’t sit around whining about it. Don’t waste your time feeling sorry for yourself. Despite what you may think, that persecution hasn’t come because the devil gets his kicks out of picking on you. It comes because you’ve become a threat to him. It comes because you’ve put the Word in your heart, and he knows that if he doesn’t get it out, you’re going to cause him more trouble than he can handle.

So, rejoice! Heavy-duty persecution means you’ve made it to the big leagues. It means the devil is taking you so seriously that he’s sending in his best players in an effort to get you out of the game!

The players that make it to the Super Bowl don’t look for some way out of it, do they? They don’t say, “Boy, I sure wish I didn’t have to be in that Super Bowl game. Those guys are the biggest, meanest players in the country. “Maybe I’ll get sick and I won’t have to play.” No! They relish the opportunity. “Let me at ’em,” they say. “I’ve worked all my life to get here and now I’m going to prove I’m the best!”

That’s how you should be when the devil challenges you. You should accept that challenge with joy, knowing you’re going to come out a winner. After all, your God is sufficient to see you through. He never stops and wonders if He’s going to have enough resources to get poor, little you over your problems this time. He knows He can beat anything the devil brings against you.

So, when persecution comes, trust Him and rejoice, knowing that you’ve made it to the big leagues now!

Andrew Wommack Devotional 17 February 2019 – The Chosen Ones

Topic: The Chosen Ones [Andrew Wommack Devotional 17 February 2019]

Mark 1:16, “Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.”

Text: MT. 4:13-22; MK. 1:16-20; LK. 5:27; JN. 5:38

Jesus never chose an apostle from among the religious system. Every one of his twelve disciples were men that He chose from the secular world. It wasn’t because God didn’t have faith in those who were religious. It’s just that most of those who were part of the religious system didn’t have any faith in God.

One of the most common mistakes religious people make is to put faith in themselves. They think God will use them because of their great holiness or special abilities.

Paul said, “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are” (1 Cor. 1:27-28).

People who recognize their own inabilities are of necessity more dependent on God. That is the way God wants it. The Lord is constantly searching for someone who recognizes they are nothing so He can do something through them (2 Ch. 16:9).

Instead of thinking of your responsibilities, just respond to His ability.

Billy Graham Devotional 17 February 2019 – Our Eternal Home

Topic: Our Eternal Home [Billy Graham Devotional 17 February 2019]

I create new heavens . . . — Isaiah 65:17

What kind of place is heaven?

First, heaven is home. The Bible takes the word “home” with all of its tender associations and with all of its sacred memories and tells us that heaven is home. Second, heaven is a home which is permanent. We have the promise of a home where Christ’s followers will remain forever. Third, the Bible teaches that heaven is a home which is beautiful beyond every imagination. Heaven could not help but be so, because God is a God of beauty. Fourth, the Bible teaches that heaven will be a home which is happy, because there will be nothing to make it sad. In heaven families and friends will be reunited. God’s house will be a happy home because Christ will be there. He will be the center of heaven. To Him all hearts will turn, and upon Him all eyes will rest.

Prayer for the day: As I think of the promise of an eternal home with You and the reunion with my loved ones—I rejoice!

MFM Daily Devotional 17 February 2019 – Benefits of Scripture Memorisation (II)

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 17 February 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Benefits of Scripture Memorisation (II)

TOPIC: Benefits of Scripture Memorisation (II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 17 February 2019)

Bible In One Year: Leviticus 21-22; Matthew 28

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 4:1-11

MEMORY VERSE: “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.” – Proverbs 25:11

The MESSAGE:

Yesterday, we learnt that when we memorise the Scripture, we would earn the power to be like Christ and conform to His image. We also learnt that memorising the Scripture will enable us to triumph over sin every day. It is therefore, undoubtedly, an important exercise for our Christian life.

In addition to the first and second benefits we learnt yesterday, here are other benefits you will derive from memorising the Scripture. The third benefit is that you will have daily triumph over satan. In Matthew 4:1-11, when Jesus was tempted by satan in the wilderness, he recited Scripture from memory and put satan to flight. In whatever way the devil comes to you to tempt or deceive you, the word of God is still the most potent weapon to confront him and defeat him with. Memorise it and you will be able to recite it from memory both in the physical and in the dream world. Your victory over satan will be guaranteed.

Another benefit of memorising the Scripture is that you will find it easier to give comfort and counsel to people you love. As a believer, you are expected to encourage, comfort and counsel others. Your Bible may not be handy when you want to do these. If you have God’s word richly stored in your memory, you will do a good job of comforting and counselling others. You will have the right words from the Bible for every situation. Proverbs 25:11 says, “A WORD fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”. In other words, when the heart full of God’s love can draw on the mind full of God’s word, timely blessings flow from the mouth.”

Apart from the foregoing, memorising the Scripture enables us to communicate the gospel to unbelievers. All believers are called to share the gospel and win souls for Christ. How can you fulfil the Great Commission successfully without being thoroughly armed with the word of God? Sometimes, opportunities to share the gospel come when we do not have our Bible in hand. When we memorise and white appropriate Scriptures as we share the gospel, the power of God’s word will penetrate the heart of the listeners and have great impact on them. To be effective at sharing the gospel and winning souls for God, we should all be able to sum up the gospel under four main headings: 1) God’s holiness/law/glory; 2) Man’s sin/rebellion/disobedience; 3) Christ’s death for sinners; 4) The free gift of life by faith. Learn a verse or two relating to each of these, and be ready in season and out of season to share them. Beloved, God’s words are very precious. I encourage you to memorise them.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE BIBLE IN THE MEMORY IS BETTER THAN THE BIBLE IN THE BOOK CASE.

PROPHETIC WORD:
God’s word in you will raise every dead thing to life now.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Every commandment of darkness against my destiny, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Any satanic intermediary assigned against me, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Word of God, enter my life, give me light, order, beauty and peace, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. Let the powers of the emptires surrounding my breakthroughs, die, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Any power assigned to demote my destiny, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.

Seeds of Destiny 17 February 2019 Devotional – The Blessing – A Limit Breaker

Topic: The Blessing – A Limit Breaker [Seeds of Destiny 17 February 2019 Devotional]

SCRIPTURE: Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: Genesis 12:1-2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When God releases the Blessing on you, what limited your father is not permitted to limit you.

It has been confirmed that the Blessing of God is a limit breaker. That is, God’s Blessing has the capacity to terminate the limits of life and destiny. God’s Blessing is a lifter of embargoes.

Now, a typical example of a person whose limit of life and destiny was broken or terminated by the Blessing of God was Abraham. In his family, there was a trinity of calamity – there was a situation of dying before time, living without relevance and starting without finishing. This calamity affected everyone in Abraham’s household until God broke this limit from the life of Abraham by the agency of the Blessing.

In Genesis 12:1, God told Abraham to come out of his father’s house because what limited his father’s house would not limit him. Beloved, when God releases the Blessing on you, what limited your father is not permitted to limit you; what limited your siblings cannot limit you. God’s blessing is the answer to ancestral limitations. Generational embargoes are lifted by the Blessing of God.

Isaac was also another person who experienced the limit-breaking Power of the Blessing of God. Even though there was famine in the land, God’s Blessing broke the impact of famine in his life and so, his case was different (Genesis 26:1).

When the blessing breaks your limits, it makes your case different. God’s blessing makes your life different from other people. While people say that they are cast down, you will say there is a lifting up.

Beloved, I decree that you will cross every limit that no one in your family has ever crossed in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: when God releases the Blessing on you, what limited your father is not permitted to limit you.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Identify any ancestral limitation or bloodline pattern in your family.
  2. Make demands on the limit-breaking Blessing of God.

PRAYER: O Lord, I make demands on Your Blessing upon my life. Let every ancestral limitation over my life be destroyed today by Your Blessing, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
