MFM Daily Devotional 27 January 2019 – Unconditional Love

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 27 January 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Unconditional Love

TOPIC: Unconditional Love (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 27 January 2019)

Bible In One Year: Exodus 16-18; Matthew 18:1-20

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 3:17-19

MEMORY VERSE: “`For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

The MESSAGE:

The Bible says that Christ’s love for the Church is the model for husbands’ love for their wives. Christ’s love was expressed fully when He gave Himself up for the Church by death on a cross. Every Christian husband should demonstrate the same level of love for his wife. Yesterday, we examined the first kind of love Christ demonstrated towards the church: unfeigned love or love without deception. We also enjoined you that you love your wife with sincere love that flows deeply from your regenerated heart.

Another kind of love Christ demonstrated towards the Church is unconditional love. God loves us unconditionally in two ways. Similarly, Christ loves the Church unconditionally the same way. First, He loves the Church with electing love unconditionally. The Bible says that while we were yet sinners, God made Christ to die for us. That is, in spite of our sin, God showed us love. Also, Ephesians 1:4-5 says, “He chose us in him before the foundation of the world…for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ. Acts 13:48 says, “As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.” We are appointed to enjoy His love unconditionally.

Second, Christ loves the Church (and that means us) with regenerating love before we met any condition. The new birth is not God’s response to our meeting the condition of faith. On the contrary, the new birth enables us to believe. In 1 John 5:1, the Bible says, “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been [already!] born of God.” Similarly John 1:13 affirms that we were not born of the will of the flesh or the will of man, but of God.

Unconditional love does not mean justifying sinners. Shall we abound in sin and expect grace to abound? It does not mean that you should close your eyes to the apparent inadequacies and laws of your spouse. Rather, correct him or her in love and strive to see the desired change in the areas he or she is weak and not pleasing God. Unconditional love is showing great affection in spite of your spouse’s flaws, believing he or she is work in progress in God’s hand and that you are her purpose partner. Beloved Brother, give your wife love with no strings attached –the type Jesus freely gave to you not minding your past and your mistakes.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
WHEN YOU STOP EXPECTING YOUR SPOUSE TO BE PERFECT, YOU CAN LOVE THEM FOR WHO THEY ARE.

PROPHETIC WORD:
The honey in your marriage shall not dry up.

PRAYER POINTS:

  2. Let the love of Christ be regenerated in the church of God, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

  1. O Lord my Father, establish me in Your love, in the name of Jesus.
  2. I break myself lose from the bondage of hatred, in the name of Jesus.
  3. I destroy anything that is not of God in my life and in my environment, in the name of Jesus.

Unveiling the Rewards of Righteousness! By David Oyedepo

Unveiling the Rewards of Righteousness! By David Oyedepo

Topic: Unveiling the Rewards of Righteousness!

Welcome to your week of favour ! I hope you were blessed by last week teaching. As we conclude this month, we shall focus on: Unveiling the Rewards of Righteousness!

We discover from scriptures that sin brings curses while righteousness brings blessings. For it is written: Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34; see also Psalm 112:1-3). Everywhere we see God’s blessings, righteousness is in place. While the wages of sin is death, the wages of righteousness is life more abundant. There is a lot more pleasure in righteousness than there is in sin. Also, we understand that persecutions bring promotions. Those who mind men naturally miss God. If I had minded men, I would have missed God long ago. When we are persecuted for righteousness, it provokes God for our promotions. For instance, when Joseph was persecuted for purity, God found a place for him in the palace. Every persecution for righteousness equals exaltation from heaven(2 Corinthians 6:17-18). Every persecution against our righteousness is announcing our promotion. Furthermore, persecution does not kill; it is ignorance that kills. Rejoice at persecutions because every greatness from heaven is welcomed on earth by persecutions. For example, when Moses was born, he was born into the midst of persecutions. Likewise our Lord Jesus Christ, when He arrive persecution was waiting. The persecutions of life are a reality but our power over them is also a reality. What is the sole aim of persecutions? To stop the persecuted from attaining his/her goal!

What are the Rewards of Righteousness?

1. Prosperity, Promotion and Honour: Righteousness announces promotion of the righteous. It is written: But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing (Psalm 92:10-14). No matter the drought, the righteous shall flourish; his leaves will remain ever green. The man Job flourished by righteousness, likewise everyone that practice righteousness will flourish the same way (Job 1:1-3). Righteousness was the root of the height that Job got to. He became the greatest man not through crookedness or perverseness but through uprightness and godly perfection. He was scared of evil; he never touched it and never played with it (Job 1:5). That he avoided evil suggested that he was living in the days of evil but he never partook of it. Then, he became the greatest man in the east! Righteousness holds a guarantee for our prosperity and honour has its roots in righteousness. It is the shortest way to the topmost top.

2. Beauty: Purity gives birth to beauty. Nothing glorifies, nothing beautifies like holiness. As it is written: For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation (Psalm 149:4). Talking about Jesus, Matthew 1:21 says: …he shall save his people from their sins. So, when we are saved from sin, our beauty emerges and our dominion is established. When we go for purity, it will surely deliver our beauty to us. When sin goes, beauty emerges.

How, then, do we Break the Trap of Sin?

1. By Constant Cleansing by the Word: This can be gotten through anointed books and electronic media such as CDS, DVD, etc that deal with issues of ungodliness. Let’s understand that God’s Word carries sanctifying virtues and every genuine encounter with the Word liberates us from sin. The Psalmist said: …Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:9-11; see also John 15:3, 17:17; Ephesians 5:26).Jesus also said that whosoever is born of God does not commit sin because His seed is in him. The seed is the Word of God. Therefore, just as the presence of light subdues darkness, it also takes the Word to subdue sin (1 John 3:9; Luke 8:11).

2. Through Commitment to Constant Fellowship: It is written: But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions (Obadiah 17). The Church, which is referred to as Mount Zion in the New Testament, is a service station where our lives are serviced spiritually. Among the happenings in Zion is the spiritual sprinkling of the Blood for our cleansing (Hebrews 12:22-24). We must understand that the farther we are from Church, the more vulnerable we become to temptations. That is why, to live a life of righteousness, we must be addicted and committed to fellowship because we are strengthened when we appear before God in Zion (Hebrews 3:13,10:25; Psalm 84:7).

3. By Seeking Impartation of Relevant Spiritual Gifts: Paul the Apostle said: For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established (Romans 1:11). Spiritual gifts enhance our establishment as it is impossible to live a godly life without the Spirit of God at work in us. This is why we must seek relevant spiritual gifts to live godly lives (Romans 8:13). Some of these relevant spiritual gifts include:

  • The Spirit of obedience(Ezekiel 36:27).
  • The Spirit of holiness (Isaiah 11:2; Romans 1:4; John 8:46).
  • The Spirit of grace and supplication (Romans 8:26-27; Zechariah 12:10).

In summary, heaven is the overcomer’s city and only overcomers get there (James 1:12). When we endure temptations, we win a crown of life. Thus, you must be born again. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”

Seeds of Destiny 27 January 2019 Devotional – The Implication of Living in the Reverential Fear of God

Topic: The Implication of Living in the Reverential Fear of God [Seeds of Destiny 27 January 2019 Devotional]

Scripture: And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. Act 24:16.

Thought For The Day: Reverence for God is the secret of staying pure in life

Yesterday, we saw that reverence for God makes a person a reference point in life. Reverence for God is the secret of staying pure in life. Joseph did not fall into the trap of temptation and sin because of his reverence for God (Genesis 39:9).

Now, what are the implications of living in the reverential fear of God?
They are:
i. Living with a conscience that is alive (Act 24:16)
Those who are dedicated to God have a tender conscience. People who are not dedicated to God have a conscience that appears seared with hot iron (1 Timothy 4:2).

ii. Living to give God pleasure (2 Corinthians 5:9)
Living in the reverential fear of God is living to give God pleasure; people who are dedicated to God make giving pleasure to God the most important objective of their lives and existence. People who are not dedicated to God live to please themselves.

iii. Living to give glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31, Isaiah 42:12)
When you live in the reverential fear of God, the actions of your life are carried out with the consideration of glorifying God. You do not do things if they do not glorify God.

iv. Saying ‘yes’ to what God says ‘yes’ to and saying ‘No’ to what God says ‘No’ to (Hebrews 6:3)
Living in the reverential fear of God means saying ‘yes’ to what God says ‘yes’ to and saying ‘no’ to what God says ‘no’ to. People who are not dedicated to God say ‘No’ to what God says ‘Yes’ to and say ‘Yes’ to what God says ‘No’ to.

Beloved, make up your mind to be dedicated to God by saying ‘Yes’ to what God says ‘Yes’ to. Reject what God rejects.

Remember this: Reverence for God is the secret of staying pure in life.

Assignments:

  1. Go through today’s message once again.
  2. Make up your mind to maintain a conscience that is alive and tender always.

Prayer: O Lord I ask that You give me the grace to maintain a conscience that is alive and alert. Help me to respond to Your heartbeat always, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 27 January 2019 – Needed Works of Faith

Topic: Needed Works of Faith [DCLM Daily Manna 27 January 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: James 2:10-26 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone” (James 2:17).

MESSAGE:

An unsparing holiness preacher concerning whom little was known of his domestic life lived downtown in a Council flat. He told his staff and congregation never to visit him at home without an appointment. An usher living close by frequently flouted this rule, preferring to come to the pastor’s house to submit reports without prior notice. The pastor desiring to know the reason asked the young man: “Did you realise you are disobedient by coming to my house without me inviting you?” He answered and said: “I am sorry, but I did it that I might, by some chance, come to discover how you react to the provocations of belligerent neighbours, the disturbing noises of infant wards and the mischief of domestic staff in your home. This I hoped, would help me beyond lessons from your sermons.”

Our profession may be great, but our conduct and attitude both in good and bad times are the real proofs of our hearts and the evidence of our faith.

In today’s reading, the writer placed high premium on faith evidenced by its works. The faith that shows no corresponding positive traits is dead and useless. True faith in our Lord Jesus Christ works out some positive changes in the believer. If these desirable changes are not in our lives, then it is doubtful whether we have been united with Christ. Those who are destitute of the fruits of the Christian life cannot claim to know the Saviour.

However, we cannot produce these fruits by our own efforts outside of Christ. Though we may try to do what is good and right, staying close to Jesus and being obedient to His word is the only way to living a fruitful Christian life. We must determine to quit surface level Christianity and show forth evidence of a true walk with God.

Thought For The Day: A tree is known not by the leaves but by the fruits.

TREM Devotional 27 January 2019 – You are Called to be a Channel of Blessing

Topic: You are Called to be a Channel of Blessing [TREM Devotional 27 January 2019]

“As every man hath received the gift, even so, minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10 KJV

Whatever your calling or profession is and whoever you are, you must see yourself as one called to be a blessing to others. Therefore, whatever you are doing that is blessing people, see it as a ministry. Let it go beyond ‘it is a job where I am being paid’. The will of God is for you to affect humanity positively. The Bible declares that “…unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required…”(Luke 12:48 KJV). The Bible also says, “give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom” (Luke 6:38). The more you release, the more you receive. That is the secret!

When God sees you as a very profitable channel to bless humanity, the more He pours out to you and the more He opens up to you the mysteries of the kingdom. Blessing people is the will of God. We must have drivers that will carry people around the nation not just for the pay, but with a mindset of blessing humanity. We must have people who are sweeping the streets, making our streets clean because they want to be a channel of blessing to humanity. We all must see whatsoever that is adding value to the society as a ministry. That is the Kingdom dimension.

Whatsoever you do, do it as though it is God that is doing it. Sweep the street as though God is sweeping that place. Handle that computer as though God is handling it. Do that catering job as though it is God doing it. Don’t try to cut corners. You are called to be a blessing to humanity. Therefore, do it with the mentality of one who wants to add value to others. Remember, the ministry doesn’t stop when you step out of the church. You are perpetually on Kingdom assignment.

Our Daily Bread 27 January 2019 Devotional – The Mood Mender

Topic: The Mood Mender [Our Daily Bread 27 January 2019 Devotional]

Bible in a Year: Exodus 19–20; Matthew 18:21–35

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. – Psalm 94:19

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Psalm 94:2

As I waited at the train station for my weekly commute, negative thoughts crowded my mind like commuters lining up to board a train—stress over debt, unkind remarks said to me, helplessness in the face of a recent injustice done to a family member. By the time the train arrived, I was in a terrible mood.

On the train, another thought came to mind: write a note to God, giving Him my lament. Soon after I finished pouring out my complaints in my journal, I pulled out my phone and listened to the praise songs in my library. Before I knew it, my bad mood had completely changed.

Little did I know that I was following a pattern set by the writer of Psalm 94. The psalmist first poured out his complaints: “Rise up, Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve. . . . Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?” (Psalm 94:2, 16.) He didn’t hold anything back as he talked to God about injustice done to widows and orphans. Once he’d made his lament to God, the psalm transitioned into praise: “But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge” (v. 22).

God invites us to take our laments to Him. He can turn our fear, sadness, and helplessness into praise.

Today’s Reflection:
Lord, I pour out my heart to You. Take my hurts and my anger, and grant me Your peace.

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 27 January 2019 – God Wants You Well

Topic: God Wants You Well [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 27 January 2019]

For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord. – Jeremiah 30:17

God wants you well! Did you know that? He wants you healthy and strong in every single area of your life.

He wants you to be spiritually strong. Strong in faith. Strong in the Word. Strong in redemption. Strong in the love of God.

He wants you to be well in your mind, to be strong and stable emotionally.

He wants you to have a healthy will, a will that’s aligned with His will.

He wants your body to be well. He wants you free from the bondages of pain, sickness and care. Free from the worries and woes of this earthly life.

Your heavenly Father wants you well!

What’s more, in this day and hour, He needs you well. He needs you living in victory and healing so that you can teach others how to do it too. We’re stepping in to a time when that kind of knowledge is an absolute necessity. There’s no more time for the Body of Christ to limp along, uninformed and unprepared for the devil’s attacks.

In fact, here’s what the Lord has told me:

The further you go, the more dangerous things in the earth will become. People will have to grow in the realities of redemption and the “how-to’s” of living by faith in order to live in the great, overcoming way I have planned for them.

Jesus gave Himself in death so that we could be well. He was raised in life, ever making intercession for us now so that we can be well. And He wants us to be healthy and strong as a witness in these last days to a world that’s filled with terror—a witness of His love, His grace and His power.

Receive Jesus’ healing power in every area of your life. Start applying it by faith right now. Commit yourself to getting well and growing strong in every area of your life today!

Andrew Wommack Devotional 27 January 2019 – Satan’s Power Is Limited

Topic: Satan’s Power Is Limited [Andrew Wommack Devotional 27 January 2019]

Luke 4:13, “And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.”

Text: MT. 4:1-11; MK. 1:12-13; LK. 4:1-13

The wording of this verse implies that Satan exhausted his arsenal of temptations on Jesus and then had to leave.

We have mistakenly given Satan too much credit. He does not have a limitless number of temptations that he can pull on us. As 1 Jn. 2:16 says, there are three areas where the devil tempts us: (1) the lust of the flesh, (2) the lust of the eyes, and (3) the pride of life. Jesus’ three temptations correspond to these.

By ascribing to Satan limitless temptations and abilities, we have built up our adversary to be bigger than he is. The truth is, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]” (I Cor. 10:13).

Satan would like you to think that he is tougher than he really is. One of his greatest weapons is intimidation, but he has been defeated. His teeth have been pulled. Now he can only roar as a lion seeking to devour uninformed souls who don’t know their authority in Christ (1 Pet. 5:8).

Today, realize that whatever Satan is fighting you with is only temporary. Don’t quit. In due season you will reap, if you faint not (Gal. 6:9).

Billy Graham Devotional 27 January 2019 – Responsibility of Family

Topic: Responsibility of Family [Billy Graham Devotional 27 January 2019]

Bless me and my family forever! — 2 Samuel 7:29 (TLB)

Apart from religious influence, the family is the most important unit of society. It would be good if every home were Christian, but we know that it is not so. The family and the home can never exert their proper influence while ignoring the biblical standard. The Bible calls for discipline and a recognition of authority. If children do not learn this at home, they will go out into society without the proper attitude toward authority and law. There is always the exceptional child, but the average tells us that the child is largely what the home has made him. The only way to provide the right home for your children is to put the Lord above them, and fully instruct them in the ways of the Lord. You are responsible before God for the home you provide for them.

Prayer for the day: Father, keep me from any word or deed that might hinder a child from loving You.
