MFM Daily Devotional 27 December 2018 – True Witness of Christ’s Ministry

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 27 December 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – True Witness of Christ’s Ministry

TOPIC: True Witness of Christ’s Ministry (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 27 December 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 John 1:1-4

MEMORY VERSE: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

The MESSAGE:

There is a big difference between knowing Jesus on the pages of the Scriptures and having a personal encounter with Him. There were many people around Jesus during His earthly ministry who saw Him on a daily basis and witnessed His miracles but never had any spiritual encounter with Him. They enjoyed His free food, miracles, teachings and sermons. They even touched Him physically, but they never had any spiritual encounter with Him. This means that it is possible for someone to enjoy all the blessings in the ministry using the name of Jesus, testify to various miracles received, teach and preach the gospel, without being a true disciple of Jesus Christ. When you carefully read and meditate on the Fire Scripture of today, you will notice that Apostle John had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. His was not a secondhand religious experience inherited from someone else or discovered in a book, but he (John), knew Jesus Christ one-on-one, face-to-face, heard Him speak, watched Him as He lived, studied Him carefully, touched His body, and digested the word of eternal life He spoke to them always. He knew that Jesus is real, not a phantom, not a vision, but God in human corporeal form. So he rightly confessed and declared in John 1:34 “I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God”. It was not only the Apostle’s physical closeness to Jesus Christ that made them what they were, it was their spiritual closeness. They had committed themselves to Him as their Saviour and their Lord.

Believers are expected to have encountered Jesus at the point of New Birth. The experience of their salvation is supposed to be a catalyst in them to propel them towards pursuing the goal of reigning with Christ in eternity. The zeal and passion for the love of Christ who saved them from eternal damnation is supposed to compel them to witness Him to the dying world. Genuine salvation comes with this encounter and those who experience it see the need for witnessing Christ to others. If you have actually encountered Jesus, you should not be ashamed to let the people around you know about Him and be saved from their sin. In doing this, you will be able to please the One that saved you and enjoy the benefits of new life. Also, to have fullness of Joy, you must strive to conform to the standards of the Apostles and teach others to do same. Be a true witness of Christ’s ministry.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
ANOINTING TURNED THEM FROM FEARFUL FOLLOWERS OF JESUS TO AN EXTRAORDINARY GROUP OF MEN.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You will experience Jesus Christ in a new and intimate way.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. My Father, I want to experience You in a new way, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Pentecostal fire, enter my bones, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Lord Jesus, ignite my spiritual life with Your fire, in the name of Jesus.

DCLM Daily Manna 27 December 2018 – A Two-Fold Cord

Topic: A Two-Fold Cord [DCLM Daily Manna 27 December 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Luke 10:1-24 (KJV)

Key Verse: After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come” (Luke 10:1)

MESSAGE:

Working and walking in pairs was a common practice in the early church. As “Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer” to pray, so were Paul and Barnabas separated for the evangelistic work by the church under the instruction of the Holy Ghost. In fact, the Lord Jesus had taught the disciples this pattern by practice in His days on earth. He sent two disciples to fetch the donkey for His triumphant entry (Luke 19:29) and despatched Peter and John to prepare the Passover (Luke 22:8). In the text under consideration, He sent the disciples “two and two” for evangelistic outreach. As God declares, “It is not good that the man should be alone”, the Preacher affirms: “…but woe to him that is alone”.

Thus, Paul lamented: “…no man stood with me, but all men forsook me”. And when Barnabas left him, he sought a partner in Silas. Loneliness should be detested by all believers. Our Lord teaches us that in our Christian walk and work, we should have a partner. You should have a Christian friend, a prayer partner and an evangelism partner. A godly husband should team up with his godly wife, a Christian brother and another brother, and two sisters together: “…two are better than one: because they have a good reward”. When we team up in our evangelistic outreaches, great shall be our rewards.

Pray for a believing partner with whom you can preach the gospel sustainably. A two-person team of gospel proclaimers must always be raised and sustained in the church to ceaselessly declare the gospel as the Lord did with His disciples. If those men succeeded because they obeyed the Lord, there are clear indications of enduring success for us if we proceed in the might of the Lord to partner with one another to preach the gospel.

Thought For The Day: As Paul plants the seed of the Word, let Apollos water.

Our Daily Bread 27 December 2018 Devotional – The Highest Place

Topic: The Highest Place [Our Daily Bread 26 December 2018 Devotional]

Read: Colossians 1:15–23, Bible in a Year: Zechariah 1–4; Revelation 18

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17

My husband invited a friend to church. After the service his friend said, “I liked the songs and the atmosphere, but I don’t get it. Why do you give Jesus such a high place of honor?” My husband then explained to him that Christianity is a relationship with Christ. Without Him, Christianity would be meaningless. It’s because of what Jesus has done in our lives that we meet together and praise Him.

Who is Jesus and what has He done? The apostle Paul answered this question in Colossians 1. No one has seen God, but Jesus came to reflect and reveal Him (v. 15). Jesus, as the Son of God, came to die for us and free us from sin. Sin has separated us from God’s holiness, so peace could only be made through someone perfect. That was Jesus (vv. 14, 20). In other words, Jesus has given us what no one else could—access to God and eternal life (John 17:3).

Why does He deserve such a place of honor? He conquered death. He won our hearts by His love and sacrifice. He gives us new strength every day. He is everything to us!

We give Him the glory because He deserves it. We lift Him up because that is His rightful place. Let’s give Him the highest place in our hearts.

Prayer: Jesus, You are my Savior and my Lord, and I want to give You the highest place of honor in my life.

INSIGHT
The New Testament concept of “image” (Colossians 1:15) involves three things: “exact likeness” (2 Corinthians 4:4 nlt), “exact representation” (Hebrews 1:3), and complete revelation (John 1:18). Man is created “in the image of God” (Genesis 1:27), but Jesus “is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4). The writer of Hebrews says the Son “is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being” (1:3) or “expresses the very character of God” (nlt). Jesus in His very essence and nature is God (Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:5–6). The apostle John (John 1:18) says Jesus “has made [God] known” (niv) or “has explained Him” to us (nasb).

Seeds of Destiny 27 December 2018 Devotional: Focus On God – A Key to Joy

Topic: Focus On God – A Key to Joy [Seeds of Destiny 27 December 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: …for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

Thought For The Day: What you look at determines what you will look like.

Yesterday, we saw that one major feature of the journey to the top is joy and excitement. You cannot feel low and fly high in life. Weight is the enemy of speed. You cannot be weighed down and go up in life. If you want God to take you up, you must release Joy.

Now, what is your secret of joy? It is the maintenance of FOCUS ON GOD.
Keeping your focus on God and on His Word and promises for your life is a major key to living a joyful life. If you want joy in your life, then do not focus on where you are; focus on where you are going. Because Jesus could see Himself sitting at the right Hand of God, glorified, it gave Him the capacity to endure the Cross (Hebrews 12:2). When you focus on the ultimate, you can escape the immediate. Being joyful is your choice; you can either choose to be happy or sad.

Now, what do you focus on?

  1. Focus on the revelations of the Word of God about your life, health, marriage, fruitfulness, etc. What you look at determines what you will look like. If you at it, you will get there (2Corinthians 3:18) (Joshua 1:8).
  2. Focus on what God has put in your heart concerning your future and connect it with the Word of God (Psalm 45:1).
  3. Focus on the prophecies and revelations that God has given you (Acts 27:25).
  4. Focus on positive testimonies from living witnesses (Psalm 119:99).

Beloved, as you focus on God, His Word, prophesies, revelations and testimonies from God’s Word, your joy shall know no bounds, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: What you look at determines what you will look like.

Assignments:

  1. Let the Word of God become Your focus daily.
  2. Praise God for all your expectations.

Prayer: O Lord, I praise You for Your Word to me today. I know that as I praise You, my expectations will become my manifestations, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 27 December 2018 – Bread Alone?

Open Heaven 27 December 2018 Thursday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Bread Alone?

Topic: Bread Alone? (Open Heaven 27 December 2018)

Memorise:And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”- Deuteronomy 8:3

Read: John 6:24-27(KJV)

24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Bible in One Year: Haggai 1-2, John 18:33-19:16

Open Heaven 27 December 2018 Thursday MESSAGE:

Your body is a very important asset that God has given you. Without your body, you have no license to remain on earth. One of your major responsibilities therefore is to take care of your body constantly by feeding it and keeping it clean. It is the food we eat that gives our body the energy it needs to function well. However, not all the food we eat supplies our body with the kind of energy that it actually needs. There are healthy foods and there is junk food. When eaten, both types of food will supply energy to the body. However, while healthy food supplies the kind of energy that positively enhances the function of our body and helps it build its resilience against diseases, the energy that junk food supplies will do just the opposite, and over time, this will contribute to the body breaking down.

Although it is important to care for the body, much more importance should be placed on feeding the soul with healthy food. When we neglect our souls, so much more is at stake than sickness and physical death. Jesus does not just say things for the fun of it, and He was the one who said “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth” (Matthew 4:4). He was saying that if feeding the body alone (eating bread). Is all you do, then you will not live. Although your body will be nourished, your soul will starve and eventually die.

How then can our souls be fed? We feed our souls on the word of God written in the Bible. The habit of reading the Bible is fast becoming archaic, especially with how busy everyone has become with making ends meet. Nevertheless, 1 Timothy 4:13 says:

“Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”

No one ever said you have to read a large portion of the Bible daily. If reading a chapter of the Bible per day is what you can properly reflect on, then start with a chapter per day. Furthermore, you should not stop at reading the Bible; it is also very important to reflect on what you have read. While reading is for the head, reflecting is for the heart. You have to meditate on what you read by thinking it over and allowing it sink deep into your heart. A good way to do this is to have a book where you write down points from what you have read, and then consciously think about these points during the day. Irrespective of what you do and how busy your schedule is, always endeavor to feed your soul daily. Remember, man shall not live by bread alone.

Open Heaven 27 December 2018 Thursday Action Point:

Feed your soul as regularly as you feed your body.

Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
Darkness comes over me, my rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

There let me see the sight, an open Heaven;
All that Thou sendest me, in mercy given;
Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

Then, with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise;
So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee. Nearer to Thee!

Boy with Terminal Cancer Receives 40,000 Christmas Cards plus One from the White House

40,000 people are wishing one Louisiana boy a Merry Christmas in an “overwhelming” gesture.

Drake Quibodeaux is a young Louisiana boy who was diagnosed with the lethal Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) earlier this year. When a family friend learned of his severe diagnosis, they reached out to the public asking them flood Drake’s mailbox with Christmas cards.  While Drake’s original goal was to receive 190 cards, he has actually received over 40,000 greetings plus one very special card from the President of the United States.

The card from President Donald Trump and the First Lady reads, “Dear Drake,

Melania and I recently learned of your diagnosis and send our prayers for your healing and recovery,” the President wrote. “The resolve and tenacity you have demonstrated during this difficult time is inspiring.”

The President continued, “We pray that God grants you strength as you courageously fight this battle. We hope you find comfort and peace in your faith and that you are uplifted by all those around you.”

President Trump ended the letter assuring Drake that he and his family were on his team. Trump wrote, “We are all on Team Drake!” and included his and his wife’s signature.

According to Faithwire, Drake and his family are overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the people who sent cards and gifts to the…

Man Whose Wife Attends China’s Early Rain Church Recalls Powerful Testimony of His Time in Detention

Man Whose Wife Attends China’s Early Rain Church Recalls Powerful Testimony of His Time in Detention

The spouse of a member of China’s Early Rain Covenant Church, who is one of the many people who have been detained this month due to their connection or participation with an unregistered church, states that others in the detention center were greatly interested in learning about the gospel while he was in holding.

“[Even though] there were only 11 beds and 31 people living there, everyone there eagerly wanted to hear the gospel,” reads a testimony posted as part of a status on the Pray for Early Rain Covenant Church Facebook page.

The man’s name was not given, but the notation that he had been detained for five days was provided. He is allegedly not a church member, and, at this point, is not yet a Christian, but his wife is. He was taken into custody along with his spouse and left in the detention center.

“Everyone asked me to give them my phone number. Some of them were drug dealers. They said they would contact me as soon as they got out and that they would take their wives to church,” the testimony articulates. “They all called me professor and loved listening to me talk about the gospel. … As long as someone was willing to speak, everyone else loved to listen.”

The man explained that the people being held with him expressed a desire to wash his prior to his departure.

“When it came time for me to leave, they…

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to Leave His Position on January 1st, President Trump Reveals via Twitter

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to Leave His Position on January 1st, President Trump Reveals via Twitter

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis will leave his position on Jan. 1, President Donald Trump announced this week in a tweet.

Mattis resigned his post after Trump announced he would pull all 2,000 U.S. troops out of Syria. He had planned to stay through February, but Trump’s decision will put deputy defense chief Patrick Shanahan as acting secretary starting in January.

“Deputy Secretary will continue to serve as directed by the president, and the Department of Defense will remain focused on the defense of the nation,” Lt. Col. Joseph Buccino, a spokesman for Shanahan, said.

Trump’s acting chief of staff said earlier this week that Trump had known for “quite some time now” that he and Mattis “did not share some of the same philosophies.” He said they “could never get on the same page” on Syria.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., says Trump needs to reconsider pulling American troops out of Syria.

“We believe that such action at this time is a premature and costly mistakes that not only threatens the safety and security of the United States but also emboldens” the Islamic State group, President Bashar Assad’s government, Iran and Russia,” he said in a letter with other Republicans.

They have asked Trump to wait 90 days before making a decision, but Mike Mulvaney told ABC there isn’t a chance…

Biological Male Files Suit, Wins Right to Join Women’s Football League

Biological Male Files Suit, Wins Right to Join Women’s Football League

A biological male who identifies as a woman has won a lawsuit against a women’s football league and team, which prohibited anyone but biological women from playing.

Christina Ginther, who was born male, tried out for the Minnesota Vixen in the Independent Women’s Football League but was told biological males were not allowed to play due to safety issues, according to Minnesota Public Radio (MPR).

“I hung up the phone and just felt violated,” Ginther, 46, said. “I mean, just the sense of, ‘I’m a freak. I’m a defective. I am not worthy to be with this team.’”

The Vixen is a semi-pro team and does not pay its players.

Ginther sued in 2017 and was awarded $20,000 in damages from a jury this month. The jury ruled the league had violated the Minnesota Human Rights Act and should have let Ginther play.

“And the Vixen were arguing, ‘You know, this is just football.’ I was just really happy with my lawyer. He said, ‘That’s kind of the same story. It’s only football. It’s only a bus seat. It’s only a bathroom. But it isn’t. … We’re talking about human dignity,” Ginther told MPR.

While the lawsuit was in process, Ginther joined a different women’s football league, the Women’s Football Alliance, which allows transgender women to play.

“This was a jury of regular folks who came in, heard the evidence, and concluded that what happened…

Ohio Becomes 10th State to Ban Late-Term ‘Dismemberment’ Abortion

Ohio Becomes 10th State to Ban Late-Term ‘Dismemberment’ Abortion

Ohio Gov. John Kasich signed a bill into law Dec. 21 banning a late-term abortion procedure that involves tearing an unborn baby apart, limb by limb, until the womb is empty.

The procedure is called dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion and now has been banned in 10 states, although some of those laws are tied up in lawsuits.

“Ohioans can sleep easier tonight, knowing that the horrendous practice of dismemberment abortions is behind us” said Mike Gonidakis, president of Ohio Right to Life. “… Ohio Right to Life is immensely grateful to our governor and our pro-life legislature for prioritizing this crucial legislation.”

About 95 percent of all second-trimester abortions involve dilation and evacuation, according to Cleveland.com. A D&E abortion requires the the dilation of the cervix and the removal of the unborn baby, limb by limb—a hand, an arm, a foot, a leg, and so forth. It was described in excruciating detail in the movie Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer.

It includes an exception for the life of the mother.

The law goes into effect in March.

The same day he signed the D&E ban, he vetoed a bill that would have prohibited abortions when an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detected. Kasich released a statement saying such a law would be struck down and cost the state “hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars” to…
