Girl with brain tumor: From no cure to no trace

Welcome to the shortest day and longest night of the year–unless you live in the Southern Hemisphere, in which case today is the shortest night and longest day of the year.

However short or long your day may be, it’s the only one you’re promised.

Ask Roxli Doss, an eleven-year-old who lives in the Austin, Texas, area. She may be out riding horses today. And that’s astounding.

Roxli was diagnosed in June with a rare, inoperable brain tumor for which there is no cure. After she underwent weeks of radiation, all her parents could do was to pray for a miracle.

“And we got it,” her mother says.

“Praise God we did,” her father agrees.

Her latest MRI scan shows no sign of the tumor. Doctors from MD Anderson, Johns Hopkins, and other hospitals all agreed on her diagnosis. Now she has gone from no cure to no trace.

Roxli will continue to undergo treatments such as immunotherapy as a precaution.

Drones shut down Gatwick airport

Every day brings new surprises.

President Trump’s decision to withdraw troops from Syria is an obvious example. Some are applauding, while others are criticizing.

Then came the announcement yesterday afternoon that Gen. Jim Mattis will be retiring as Defense Secretary at the end of February. The president stated that a new defense secretary “will be named shortly.”

Meanwhile, London’s Gatwick Airport has opened again after drone sightings caused it to shut down for more than a day, disrupting the lives of 120,000 passengers. Major League Baseball has reached a deal with Cuban officials that will allow Cuban citizens to play in the US and return home in the offseason. And the decline of shopping malls in America has meant trouble for the nation’s Santas.

I could keep listing surprising stories, but you get the point. As the saying goes, life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.

No book in history illustrates this fact more clearly than the Bible. Just pick a story: Noah and the ark,…

Sir Cliff Richard thanks Premier listeners for their prayers

During an exclusive interview, after he successfully sued the Corporation for invading his privacy, the Christian entertainer told Premier he “leaned” on those prayers.

Offering a message of thanks to fans, the 78-year-old, who recently released a new album, said: “You’ll never know how much you helped me and I’m so grateful.

“I just hope I never give you the reason to pray for me again like that. But prayers can keep going – even if someone’s well, fit and onto his 104th album.”

As part of a special programme, Premier spoke to members of its audience who committed to praying for Sir Cliff – including his long-term friend and fellow musician Rev Cindy Kent.

Some even attended his case at the High Court in London which saw Sir Cliff awarded initial damages in July totaling £210,000.

North London resident, Valmai McLaren, one of those who came to court, said: “When we learned that Sir Cliff would like some fans to be there, I took the opportunity – as did others.

“Seeing him vulnerable as he was – that wasn’t a happy place to be. [We were] praying for him through that time because of what was being said, what was being alleged…”

Sir Cliff took the BBC to court over live coverage by BBC News of a police raid on his home in Berkshire four-and-a-half years ago.

Officers had been investigating an allegation of historical…

MFM Daily Devotional 21 December 2018 – You Can Have Complete Prosperity

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 21 December 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – You Can Have Complete Prosperity

TOPIC: You Can Have Complete Prosperity (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 21 December 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 3 John 1-2

MEMORY VERSE: “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.Deuteronomy 8:18

The MESSAGE:

God’s desire for us is to enjoy all round prosperity and exercise dominion over all other creatures. The prosperity of our soul is the topmost priority of God, and once this is settled, all other things are mere additions, which God has promised to release to us liberally.

Many preachers and believers qoute 3 John 1-2 and use it severally without paying serious attention to what motivated the prayer of John, the beloved, in the first place. When we read further, we will easily notice that the prayer was motivated by what the Apostle wrote in 3 John 3-8. John wrote “For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.” From this scripture, it is clear that Gaius was a man whose “spiritual health” was evident to all. The brethren testified that Gaius was a man who exhibited holiness within and without. He demonstrated true love for Jesus by using his resources to support the ministry. He offered his services spiritually, physically, and financially. He did not allow the name of the Lord to be tarnished among the unbelievers for financial assistance. He practiced what Jesus taught and this provoked the prophetic utterance of Apostle John. John prayed for Gaius’ total prosperity -physical, spiritual, and financial. Jesus commanded that we love one another. He demanded our total commitment to the message of the cross if we truly desire to be His disciple. His promise to us if we abide in Him is that we would receive whatsoever we ask from Him. If we diligently seek the kingdom of God, then shall other things be added to us. This is the divine blueprint for complete prosperity. The soul must first prosper and when this happens, of necessity, total healing and divine provisions shall follow unhindered.

A prosperous life is a healthy and happy life, a life that honours God, a life that goes the extra mile to show love to brethren, a life that takes delight in preaching the gospel and teaching sound doctrines, a life that is heavenly focused, a life that is humble despite possession of earthly riches, a life that fears God and obeys His commandments always. Example of people who have complete prosperity in the Bible are: Enoch, David, Solomon, Job, Apostle Paul and Jesus Christ, the Master of all.

We must be fully determined to get rid of our individualistic self-centred tendencies and love the Lord with all our hearts and resources and show agape love to others as well. We can surely enjoy complete prosperity if we make it our goal. May the Lord help us, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
BELOVED, I WISH ABOVE ALL THINGS THAT YOU MAY PROSPER AND BE IN HEALTH EVEN AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall be empowered to live the life of Jesus.

  2. Peace like a river, flow in my soul, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Powers attacking my total wellbeing, your time has expired, release me and die, in the name of Jesus.

Joyce Meyer Devotional 21 December 2018 — Love Can Change People

Topic: Love Can Change People [Joyce Meyer Devotional 21 December 2018]

Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. — Psalm 25:4

I once read a story in Guideposts Magazine, a remarkable account of how love changed a person’s life. A Christian woman lived next door to an elderly lady who never came out of her house or even raised her window shades to let light into her home. This lady’s husband had died, and she herself had endured a stroke, which had left her lonely and bitter.

The Christian woman and her two young children began trying to reach out to the elderly recluse, but every time they did, she rejected their advances. They baked cookies every week for a long time and delivered them to their neighbor’s door. The first time, she opened the door just a crack, accepted the cookies, thanked them, and closed the door.

The neighbor’s response was not what the Christian woman had hoped for, but she lovingly persisted. And eventually love did work! The elderly lady accepted a casserole from her and said more than just a short thank-you. As the visits continued, the elderly woman gradually began to chat longer.

Finally, one day, the Christian woman’s children picked some flowers from their garden and delivered them to their neighbor. Eventually, they all became good friends. The elderly lady got her life back. She opened her blinds, her door, and her heart, and she began to live again—all because someone who loved God was determined to love her.

Many people in the world today are just like the elderly neighbor. They have had sadness or difficulties in their lives and have become bitter. They seem to reject love, yet love is what they need most. Be a person who gives of yourself and your resources to reach out and show love to someone who desperately needs it.

Prayer Starter: Father, let me be an instrument of Your love today. Show me someone I can bless, encourage and uplift. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

The Word and Last Minute Miracles by Pastor Paul Enenche

POWER COMMUNION SERVICE – 19TH DECEMBER 2018
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): LUKE 5:1-7
MESSAGE TOPIC: THE WORD AND LAST MINUTE MIRACLES
BY: DR. PAUL ENENCHE

SERVICE OBJECTIVES:

  1. Understanding last minute miracles
  2. Understanding how the Word produces last minute miracles

We serve a God of last minute miracles;
we serve a God that is never limited by time and space

WHAT ARE LAST MINUTE MIRACLES?

  1. Last minute miracles are miracles that happen at the nick of time – when time is almost or literally up
  2. Last minute miracles are miracles that happen when hope is almost or completely lost
  3. Last minute miracles are miracles that happen beyond all feasibility or possibility
  4. Last minute miracles are miracles that happen beyond expectation or anticipation – they come with an element of surprise
  5. Last minute miracles are miracles that happen when prevailing situations have been accepted as unchangeable

SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF LAST MINUTE MIRACLES:

  1. Peter and the frustration of fruitless labour (Luke 5:1-7)
  2. The widow of Zarephath in the season of scarcity and shortage (1Kings 17:9-16)
  3. The Shunammite woman who was no longer in expectation of childbirth (2Kings 4:12-17)
  4. The resurrection of the widow’s son of Nain (Luke 7:11-12)

WHY GOD PERFORMS LAST MINUTE MIRACLES:

  1. To confirm His Sovereignty and Almightiness
He does it to confirm that He can overdo, extra-do and super-do
He does it to let the devil know that he (the devil) is not in control
  2. To bring multiplied praise and glory to His Name (Luke 5:8)
God does it when it is beyond feasibility and possibility in order for the praise to be mega!
  3. To reveal the limitations of human ability, wisdom or resources
  4. To multiply the joy and the fulfilment of His people
The end of a long battle brings strong joy
When the battle is tough, the victory is sweet!
  5. To bury the enemy in surprise
There are those who cannot stand your rise but God will bury them in surprise

THE WORD THAT GUARANTEES THE LAST MINUTE MIRACLE:

  1. The Revealed Word (Luke 5:4-5)
  2. The Prophetic Word from your prophet (1Kings 17:14-17)
  3. The Obeyed Word (Luke 5:5-6)
The instruction you argue with will never give you your desired expectation
The instruction you negotiate can never produce the manifestation you desire
The distance between your POSITION and your DESTINATION is an instruction
The distance between your POSITION and your POSSESSION is an instruction

PRAYERS
Father, thank You for Your Word to me. To You be all the glory Lord in Jesus’ Name

Father, thank You for the last minute surprises that we are receiving in this season, in Jesus’ Name!

Father, I come before You today in agreement with Your children to connect with last minute miracles. Give me the Revealed Word; I receive the Prophetic Word; show me the Word I must obey in this season for my last minute miracles. Give it to Your children Lord and let everyone of us be partakers of last minute miracles in this last part of 2018 in Jesus’ Name.

Father, as an entity, as a nation, we make demands on last minute miracles for Nigeria our nation, for every part of this nation. We receive it now!

Father, let the triumph of the wicked in Nigeria expire; let the triumph of wickedness at all levels expire; let the triumph of killers, their sponsors, collaborators and sympathisers expire now! (Job 20:5)

Father, let the sword of the wicked turn against each other now!

Father, protect and preserve our military. Give them the wisdom not to lose this war against wickedness. Enough is enough of the wastage of the lives of those that protect us, in Jesus’ Name!

COMMUNION FOCUS (LUKE 5:4-6):
Communion of Speedy manifestation – speedy miracles and testimonies; before the next 24 hours, you shall have a testimony!

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

  • Every killer and everyone who shed innocent blood, their blood shall go for your blood!

  • In this last hour of 2018, God shall give you a net-breaking, ship-sinking miracle!

  • 31st December is not permitted to arrive until God gives you a last minute miracle!
  • When God gives you that last minute miracle, even those who knew you before will find it hard to recognize your change
  • The greatest miracle you have received shall happen before the end of this year!
  • Every single day till 31st December there shall be multiple miracles!
  • Whatever instruction will change your position in this season, may God release it for you
  • Even overnight, between now and the morning, God shall give you a change of story!
  • At this tail end of 2018, my God and your God will confirm His Almightiness in your life!
  • That miracle that will multiply your praise and increase your jubilation is released for you!
  • That last minute miracles that will take the enemy by surprise is released for you!

  • Every sorrow packaged for you in this season is returned back to hell!
  • Systems are put under pressure until all they contain for you is released into your hands
  • In this season, the activity of robbers, killers and kidnappers around your life and family is cancelled and neutralised by the Blood of Jesus!
  • Every one whose loved one is in any form of captivity, tonight, I declare, they are released! I make demands on the ministry of angels, they are released to go into the camp of the wicked and bring your loved ones out!

Fitting the Pieces to Form a Whole By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Fitting the Pieces to Form a Whole By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Fitting the Pieces to Form a Whole

Dear Reader,

Happy new month! I welcome you to the last month in this awesome year that God has promised to make everything new for us. You will agree with me that God has been beautiful for your situations and has marvelously helped you since the year began. Hence, He deserves your praise and adoration. I have personally experienced God in a new dimension this year. Surely, He is too faithful to fail!

In this crowning month of the year, I have put together many tips that make for a fulfilling family life. This is why this series is titled: Fitting the Pieces to Form a Whole. True success in marriage, entails working with so many principles from scriptures that make our adventure in life wholesome. There are principles that guarantee financial increase in the home, principles that make for unity, happiness, stress-free family relationships and I will be unveiling some of these to you.

In this first edition, I will be teaching about Keys to Increasing the Atmosphere of Joy in your Home. Marriage, as God intended, is meant to be exciting, fulfilling and exhilarating and successful. If by any chance, yours has lost the excitement or joy experienced at the beginning, God can impact you with it again, by putting to work all you will be taught in this series.

It is joy on the inside that brings out the best in a man. Happiness in your home will bring out the best in your wife, husband and children. A sorrowful heart is dangerous. Nothing good comes the way of the dejected. God’s Word says: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones (Proverbs 17:22).

When there is sadness and tension in a home, the family members are prone to all sorts of sicknesses and diseases. Man, which do you choose? To stay happy and make every member of your family happy, thereby staying away from hospital bills, or to continue spending your money and resources on drugs and medical bills. Wisdom is profitable to direct, the wise man said. I’ll rather choose to stay happy and be drug-free with my family members.

Also Read: Having a Healthy Relationship with In-Laws (Part 3) By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Joy is unlike happiness which is based on happenings, it runs deeper than that. It is a fruit of the spirit that emanates from the inside. A joyful countenance is often characterised by laughter, peace and contentment. When you are genuinely joyful, it can be easily noticeable and highly contagious.

What does it take to be Joyful?

Joy emanates from finding God’s Word concerning you and the peace of your family, obeying His instructions and doing what He commands. To maintain an atmosphere of joy in your home; therefore, God is telling you to consider these:

  1. Appreciate your spouse and family members – Whatever good thing and strong point you can see in the life of your spouse, let it be a source of joy and inspiration to you. Praise God for this aspect of his/her life and then every other area where he/she does not measure up to expectation will begin to disappear.
  2. Celebrate your spouse – Remember that other people are secretly wishing this same man or woman is their husband or wife. Keep that which you have jealously.
  3. Sow joy – Remember that it is what you sow that you reap. If you sow excitement into the atmosphere in your home, you will reap joyful family members. You will be happy yourself and your home shall be full of joy.
  4. Create God climate around your home – A God climate will eventually produce good climate. Fill your home with Christian music, Christian books, Inspirational materials, Posters, etc. Let everything around your home spell and smell God.
  5. Organise Feasts – Learn to celebrate important days and events. Form the habit of remembering birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, etc. Make big events out of ordinary days. Use these occasions to get excited and rejoice with your family members.
  6. Be one – Pray together and do things in common. Let your children see oneness in you. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Communicate adequately to the point of trust.
  7. Give no place to the spirit of unforgiveness – If you don’t forgive, you will not be forgiven. If your wife or husband offends or goes wrong somehow, correct immediately in love, and forgive.
  8. Be Contented – Contentment brings satisfaction. Be satisfied with your husband, wife, children, finances, life and environment. Thank God for every aspect of your family at all times.

Finally, friends, the Word of God says: If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them (John 13:17). Nothing works until you work it. Set yourself to doing these things and your laughter shall know no end. Be joyful on the inside and it shall continually show on the outside. Your health shall spring forth and every member of your family shall enjoy the divine presence of God. Heaven is full of joy, and God dwells in the midst of praise.

Make your home and life a habitation for the Almighty by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, then say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are born again and you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21). With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ name! Our Daily Bread 21 December 2018 Devotional – Don’t Be Afraid!

Topic: Don’t Be Afraid! [Our Daily Bread 21 December 2018 Devotional]

Read: Luke 2:42–52, Bible in a Year: Micah 4–5; Revelation 12

The kingdom of God has come near. Mark 1:15

Nearly every time an angel appears in the Bible, the first words he says are “Don’t be afraid!” Little wonder. When the supernatural makes contact with planet Earth, it usually leaves the human observers flat on their faces in fear. But Luke tells of God making an appearance in a form that doesn’t frighten. In Jesus, born with the animals and laid in a feeding trough, God takes an approach that we need not fear. What could be less scary than a newborn baby?

On Earth Jesus is both God and man. As God, He can work miracles, forgive sins, conquer death, and predict the future. But for Jews accustomed to images of God as a bright cloud or pillar of fire, Jesus also causes much confusion. How could a baby in Bethlehem, a carpenter’s son, a man from Nazareth, be the Messiah from God?

Why does God take on human form? The scene of twelve-year-old Jesus debating rabbis in the temple gives one clue. “Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers,” Luke tells us (2:47). For the first time, ordinary people could hold a conversation with God in visible form.

Jesus can talk to anyone—His parents, a rabbi, a poor widow—without first having to announce, “Don’t be afraid!” In Jesus, God draws near.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we pause at Christmas to remember how Your Son came to us in the form of a helpless baby . . . and we worship in amazement and wonder that God came near to us.

Jesus was God and man in one person, that God and man might be happy together again. George Whitefield

INSIGHT
The Feast of the Passover Jesus and His family attended was one of three annual feasts that Israelite males were required to attend (see Exodus 23:14–17). It’s estimated that 100,000 or more visitors would make their way to Jerusalem for this special occasion. At twelve years of age, Jesus was one year away from His entrance into Israelite manhood when He would become fully responsible for keeping the law. Today’s reading records Jesus’s unexplained absence from His family (Luke 2:43–45), but He was well aware of His mission (v. 49). This early scene in the temple where people were amazed at His teaching (v. 47) contrasts sharply with a later account where they would not be amazed but would try to kill Him (19:45–47).

Seeds of Destiny 21 December 2018 Devotional – The Power of Forgiveness

Topic: The Power of Forgiveness [Seeds of Destiny 21 December 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-26.

Thought For The Day: Eternity is guaranteed by the action of forgiveness.

Offences are a major feature of life in this world. That is why for as long as you are in this world, offences must come; human beings must err or offend. Offence is a satanic trap for the destruction and damnation of man.

However, it is one thing for offences to come, it is another thing to have the grace to forgive the offender. Our anchor scripture says that for your sins to be forgiven by God, you must also forgive all your offenders.

In Job 1:1-3, God testified about Job that he was a perfect and upright man and even satan could not find any fault in him. But when Job was afflicted, his friends who were supposed to comfort him accused him of being a sinner (Job 34:7-8). This offended Job bitterly because he received condemnation instead of comfort and encouragement from his friends. Thus his afflictions lingered. But when Job forgave and prayed for his friends his afflictions ended (Job 42:10).

Now, what are the benefits of forgiveness?

  1. The release of the offender is the release of the offended. When you release your offender, your captor must release you.
  2. The release of your offender is the release of restoration for the offended. Your life’s restoration is at the instance of forgiveness.
  3. The Presence, Power and working of the Almighty are all activated by the action of forgiveness.
  4. The Power of prayer is amplified by the action of forgiveness (Mark 11:24).
  5. Eternity is guaranteed by the action of forgiveness.

Beloved, make up your mind to forgive all offenders and offences. Choose to forgive people and offences even in advance.

Remember This: Eternity is guaranteed by the action of forgiveness.

Assignments:

  1. Ask God for the heart of forgiveness
  2. Forgive all offenders and offences. Choose to forgive even in advance.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to forgive anyone that may have offended me in time past. Forgive me also Lord for any sin or offence I may have committed against You, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens for Teens 21 December 2018 – Respect Your Mates

Topic: Respect Your Mates [Open Heavens for Teens 21 December 2018]

Memorise: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Romans 12:10

Read: 1 Peter 2:15-17 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Micah 6-7, Revelation 12

MESSAGE:

As teens, we must have been told so many times to respect our elders, and your attention is almost never given to respecting your mates. 1 Peter 2:17 tells us to honour all men, this includes our mates. To respect a person is to value and honour that person to the point of treating them exactly how you would want to be treated.

The fact that you are age mates or class mates with a person doesn’t mean you should not respect that person. If people older than you are the only ones you show respect to, then something is wrong. And it is only a matter of time before other people start to treat you with disrespect too. Have you made it a habit to disrespect your mates because you see no reason to respect them? The Bible condemns this. Change your ways and start to treat your mates with respect.

Key Point: Respect is reciprocal.

Hymn 13:

  1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

  1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross
  2. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?
  3. We cannot be channels of blessing
    If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
