Seeds of Destiny 8 December 2018 Devotional – The Almightiness of God

Topic: The Almightiness of God [Seeds of Destiny 8 December 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27

Thought For The Day: God can do, undo, overdo, extra-do, and mega-do anything beyond human comprehension; where man stops is where God starts.

We serve the only Almighty God that acts beyond the boundaries and limits of men. God can do, undo, overdo, extra-do, and mega-do anything beyond human comprehension; where man stops is where God starts. In Ephesians 3:20, the Bible says, Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

This confirms the fact that God can do greater things beyond our imagination in order to show His Almightiness. So, any person, nation or situation playing with God does not understand Who God is.

Now, what are the dimensions of the Almightiness of God?

1. The conversion of absolute impossibilities to limitless possibilities.
We serve the God who dares the impossible and does the unthinkable. He performed the miracle of creating a highway in the Red Sea, the miracle of providing water from the rock for about three and a half million people to drink for forty years. He is an impossibility Specialist.

2. The discharge of drastic judgment
God manifests His Almightiness in the discharge of drastic judgment.

Beloved, in order to see the Almightiness of God, absolute surrender to Him and His Will is the key. When we come to the point where we totally give God the space to move, then He will move.

Remember This: God can do, undo, overdo, extra-do, and mega-do anything beyond human comprehension; where man stops is where God starts.

Assignments:

  1. Remove doubt and unbelief totally from your operations with God.
  2. Surrender your life to God and allow Him to do His work in your life.

Prayer: Lord, I surrender my life totally to You. I reject every spirit of doubt and unbelief. Do what only You can do in my life and take all the glory, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Former Major League Baseball GM Makes it His Life’s Work to Combat Human Trafficking

Former general manager and vice president of the LA Dodgers, Kevin Malone, has made it his life’s work to combat human trafficking.

Malone, who is now the president and co-founder of the United States Institute Against Human Trafficking, is viewed as a modern abolitionist, according to his bio on the USIAHT website.

Malone works to fight human trafficking in the name of Christ.

“We are a nonprofit, faith-based organization anointed by God to fight against human trafficking in America with truth and integrity, showing the love of Jesus Christ to all involved,” the organization writes on their website.

In an interview with The Christian Post, Malone commented on his journey to fight against human trafficking saying, “I just believe God kind of called me. If you looked up and did some research on me, people think I like to fight.”

Malone continued noting that God wanted him to use his experience fighting for wins in the major leagues to fight for wins for human trafficking victims and prevention.

“God said, ‘I want you to take all your experiences, all your talents, all your skills and your passion for Me and I want you to go and fight for kids and protect kids and make families and kids aware of the evils that are out there,'” the former MLB General Manager said.

This is when Malone connected with friend and Pastor Francis Chan. CBN News…

RCCG Sunday School STUDENT Manual 9 December 2018, Lesson 15

TOPIC: Christians and Politics (Part 2) [RCCG Sunday School STUDENT Manual 9 December 2018]

MEMORY VERSE: “The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.”2 Samuel 23:3 (scroll down for RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL 9 DECEMBER 2018 HYMN)

BIBLE PASSAGE: 2 Samuel 23:1-4 (RCCG Sunday School STUDENT Manual 9 December 2018)

1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

4 And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

INTRODUCTION:
In our previous lesson, we highlighted some misconceptions held by some Christians in some circles. We also examined some of the reasons Christians should be involved in politics from biblical perspective. In today’s lesson, we shall attempt to guide Christians with genuine intentions on how to be practically involved in politics and avoid the pitfalls.

LESSON OUTLINES

  1. How to be involved in politics
  2. Things to watch out for in politics

HOW TO BE INVOLVED IN POLITICS
Christians should note that it is their civic right and responsibility under the law (Titus 3:1, 1 Peter 2:13-14) to vote and be voted for (Deuteronomy 1:13). Therefore, every eligible Christian should register with the relevant electoral body in order to participate during elections. In addition, it is important for Christians to be ‘card carrying’ members of any political party of preference. By so doing, Christians can contest and be voted into elective positions or influence the choice of their representatives for elective positions (Exodus 18:21).To join a political party, you need to get information. Visit the websites of the parties available in your country or the respective party secretariat within your locality. Go through their detailed profiles to know the party’s ideology and manifesto. Fill a party registration form and provide supporting documents/payments as may be required. A membership card will be issued to you as confirmation. Attend party meetings regularly and actively in order to be a voice to be reckoned with.

Christians aspiring for elective leadership positions should be sure to have a leading, burden or passion to serve the people and solve problems (1 Samuel 17:29,34-37; Nehemiah 2:1-5). Christians may also prayerfully join or support an advocacy group (Esther 4:8,13-14) or form a political party with people of like-minds (1 Samuel 22:2, Daniel 2:49).

THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR IN POLITICS
Christians who are into politics, or aspiring to hold political posts, should be prayerful and watch out for pitfalls to avoid soiling their garments (1 Corinthians 15:33). They should therefore:

  1. Desist from any thought or act of wickedness. Politics is not a do or die affair (Proverbs 16:12).
  2. Avoid prayerlessness (James 5:16b-18, Psalm 91:15, Daniel 6:10). Our adversary is not resting, be sober and vigilant (1Peter 5:8).
  3. Shun all foolishness: get the necessary qualifications or experience (James 1:5; 1Samuel 17:34-37) and act wisely (Matthew 10:16).
  4. Never dabble into politics without a godly burden or passion (Nehemiah 2:1-5).
  5. Avoid compromise: stand by your godly virtues and principles (1Corinthians 10:31). Distinguish yourself and do not be hypocritical (1Corinthians 6:17; Romans 12:2).
  6. Be resolute in the face of persecution and propaganda (Nehemiah 4:3,6; Nehemiah 6:5-7; Daniel 6:11-14).
  7. Avoid abuse of power. Do not be tyrannical (2Chronicles 26:16-18).

CONCLUSION:
Join a political party today and be a Christian of influence.

QUESTIONS:

  1. Mention ways to be involved in politics
  2. List 5 things to watch out for in politics?

Open Heaven 8 December 2018 – Altar of Praise

Open Heaven 8 December 2018 Saturday Daily Devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Altar of Praise

Topic: Altar of Praise (Open Heaven 8 December 2018)

Memorise:Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.”- Psalm 65:1

Read: 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 (KJV)

13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;

14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

Bible in One Year: Daniel 3, John 8:31-47

Open Heaven 8 December 2018 Saturday MESSAGE:

In today’s memory verse, the Psalmist assures God that praise awaits Him in Zion. How remarkable! When God comes to your home or heart, will He find praises there or will He find complaints? For some people, He will meet with complaints, and so He will not stay. No one wants to be in an environment where all they hear is complaints. If you can have a place in your heart and home where God can find praise at all times, He will surely draw close to you. Solomon did not ask God for anything when he became king, neither did he complain about all the issues his father left for him to resolve in the kingdom; all he did was to make a sacrifice of worship to God that no one had ever made before, and God paid him a visit with a blank cheque (1 Kings 3:4-5). When Paul and Silas were in prison, they didn’t complain and query God; rather, they turned the prison into a house of praise, and they got a special visit from God. As soon as God arrived in the prison, there was an earthquake and all their chains were broken (Acts 16:23-26). When the walls of Jericho stood before Joshua and the people of Israel, they did not begin to whine and question God; instead, they built a praise altar around the walls of Jericho, and the walls fell down flat (Joshua 6). Is there a problem giving you sleepless nights? Turn those sleepless nights into praise nights unto God and see all your problems fall down flat.

Do you know that whenever God looks upon the earth, He is looking for people praising Him in spirit and in truth? John 4:23 says:

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

Those who are close to me know that as I go about my activities all through the day, I am always singing praises to my God. I do this because I want Him to know that anytime He looks at my direction, He will find praises there. I want Him to be with me all day and never leave, because he gets an unending dose of praises from me. Many years ago, I promised an elder in our church that I was going to visit him but that I would only be staying for five minutes, because I had a lot of things to attend to that day. The elder, based on his personal knowledge of me, knew very well how to make me stay longer than five minutes. Before I got to his house, he had music playing- hymns and other sweet gospel music. I felt so comfortable in his house that I did not realize when I had spent more than an hour there! If I, as a child of God, could get carried away by praises to my Father, how much more God Himself? Psalm 22:3 says God inhabits the praises of His people; so if you want Him to be with you always, make your heart an altar of praise for Him.

Open Heaven 8 December 2018 Saturday Key Point:

When you meet someone who lives a lifestyle of praise to God, you have met someone who always has God at his side.

Open Heaven 8 December 2018 Saturday Hymn 1: Now Thank We Our God

  1. Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,
    Who wondrous things has done, in Whom this world rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.
  2. Oh, may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
    With ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us;
    And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And guard us through all ills in this world, till the next!
  3. All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given,
The Son, and Him Who reigns with Them in highest Heaven—
    The one eternal God, Whom earth and Heav’n adore;
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Attack on Private Gathering in Northern India Typifies Hindu Extremist Strategy

Attack on Private Gathering in Northern India Typifies Hindu Extremist Strategy

NEW DELHI, December 7, 2018 (Morning Star News) – A Hindu extremist strategy for stopping the spread of Christianity by targeting pastors – and their families – was painfully evident in a recent attack on a Christmas planning meeting in northern India.

As has become routine in India, police arrested badly beaten Christians and charged them with causing religious enmity, sources said.

Pastors from 12 churches in Agra, Uttar Pradesh state and from 10 churches in nearby Mathura were meeting, along with their families, in the Hotel Samover in Agra on Oct. 30 to plan a Christmas program when Hindu extremists arrived and began terrorizing them, sources said.

No more than 45 minutes into the meeting, more than 35 Hindu extremists brandishing hockey sticks, baseball bats and wooden sticks barged into the basement hall shouting slogans and curses and began beating the Christians.

“They did not engage in any kind of dialogue with us but abruptly entered the hall where we were conducting our private gathering and ruthlessly attacked us,” pastor Ravi Kumar said of the assailants from the Bajrang Dal, the militant youth wing of the Hindu extremist Vishwa Hindu Parishad (World Hindu Council or VHP).

The extremists hit men and women with their weapons, fists and legs, sources said. About 30 men and 50 women, plus children, had gathered for…

Professor’s Office Door Doused in Urine after She Opposes Transgender Reform

Professor’s Office Door Doused in Urine after She Opposes Transgender Reform

A United Kingdom professor says her office door was “covered in urine” after she criticized a proposal that would make it easier for people to change their gender.

Rosa Freedman, a professor of law at Reading University, said she received threats and verbal abuse on social media and over the phone.

The government is considering changes to the Gender Recognition Act that would allow people to change their legal gender by mere self-identification. The current law allows a person to change his/her gender, although it’s more cumbersome.

Freedman opposes the changes and says they would harm women’s rights.

“I am deeply concerned by how the conflation of sex and gender is leading to subjugation of women and is undermining the specific protections guaranteed to women under international and national human rights law,” she has said

She was called a “Nazi” and told she “should be raped,” the BBC reported.

“I’m pretty public and open about the fact that I’m Jewish,” Freedman said. “I’m pretty public and open about the fact I’ve survived sexual violence – I have been throughout these debates.

“So obviously being told I’m a Nazi and being told I’m transphobic when I’m not transphobic and nothing I’ve said or done is transphobic … having been told I should get raped. None of them are particularly…

Virginia County Targets Religious Exemption for Homeschoolers

Virginia County Targets Religious Exemption for Homeschoolers

A Virginia county school board’s push to remove the religious exemption for homeschoolers is alarming many of the state’s families, who say it could be a new way for the government to control what children are taught.

The Loudoun County School Board considered the controversial language at its Nov. 28 meeting but eventually sent it back to a committee for further discussion, according to the Loudoun Times

At issue is a resolution that would ask the Virginia legislature to remove the religious exemption for homeschooling families. If the legislature took such an action, homeschooling would remain legal but would be subject to more government oversight.

“Don’t try to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. I ask you not to repeal the religious exemption,” Loudoun County citizen Paul Millhouse told the board during the meeting, according to the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), which reported on the resolution.

More than 20 residents spoke out in opposition to the resolution.

“This action is very disturbing because it means that the school district wants new ways to control religious-exempt families,” said HSLDA senior counsel Scott Woodruff.

The resolution had passed Nov. 13, but the board voted Nov. 28 to send it back to the Legislative and Policy Committee.

School board member Eric Hornberger said the state law needs to…

Pastor Jailed for Holding ‘God Loves You and Your Baby’ Sign To Be Featured in New Book

Pastor Jailed for Holding ‘God Loves You and Your Baby’ Sign To Be Featured in New Book

A California pastor who was jailed for holding a pro-life sign outside of an abortion clinic will be featured in a book about his experience.

In 2009, Walter Hoye was arrested on charges of harassment and breaking an Oakland city ordinance that prohibits protesters from coming within 8 feet of people trying to enter an abortion clinic.

He was a sidewalk counselor, holding a sign that said, “God loves you and your baby. Let us help you.”

“They stole a page from the book of Daniel,” Hoye said. “Daniel was guilty of nothing but praying three times a day. I was just simply standing on the sidewalk holding a sign, passing out literature like to a pregnancy care center and having a conversation and consequently they put me in jail over that.”

He was jailed, but his conviction was eventually overturned.

The book, The Incarceration and Exoneration of Walter B. Hoye by journalist Robert W. Artigodetails Hoye’s experience and how he used his time in jail to share the gospel with other inmates.

“We want to make sure that there are pro-lifers out there that realize that they do have the freedom of speech and they can literally stand on the sidewalk and help women going into an abortion clinic and free speech applies to everybody,” he said.

“It also is a message sent to the black church,” he said. “There are many of us that are pro-life that…

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 8 December 2018 – Get the Two Together

Topic: Get the Two Together [December 8, 2016]

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. – Colossians 2:6-7

Established in the faith and abounding with thanksgiving. These days it seems that’s a rare combination.

A lot of people have been taught faith over the last several years, and a lot of people have been taught to abound with thanksgiving. But it’s been hard to set the two together. Faith folks want to confess the Word all the time, but they don’t praise God very much. And those who like to praise God just want to jump and shout and dance and have a good time in the Lord. You can’t get them to get very serious about the Word.

Success comes from combining the two.

So, do it! Put them together in your life. When you run into a challenge, don’t just stand around grim-faced and white-knuckled holding on to your faith. Raise your hands high and praise. Start thanking God in the midst of what’s happening around you. Keep thanking Him for the answer until it comes.

Instead of just standing on the Word, let the joy of the Lord enable you to dance around on it a little. It will get you where you’re going a whole lot faster…and both you and God will have a much better time on the way.

Scripture Reading: Colossians 2:1-10

Andrew Wommack Devotional 8 December 2018 Abraham’s Bosom

Topic: Abraham’s Bosom [Andrew Wommack Devotional 8 December 2018]

Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

The paradise that Jesus spoke of must have been the same place that Jesus called “Abraham’s bosom,” when He told the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Jesus descended into the lower parts of the earth after His death, and John 20:17 shows that it was some time after His resurrection before Jesus ascended back to His Father. Therefore, this paradise was “Abraham’s bosom” located in “sheol” in the lower parts of the earth.

The phrase “led captivity captive” from Ephesians 4:8, refers to Jesus liberating the Old Testament saints. When Old Testament saints died, they went to a place in the center of the earth which is called “sheol” in Hebrew. It is the Hebrew word “sheol” that is translated “hell” in Psalm 16:10, which prophesies Jesus saying, “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption” (Acts 2:27-30).

The ungodly dead also went to “sheol” but the teaching of Jesus in Luke 16:19-31 shows that there was a great gulf fixed between the two, and those in torment (hell) envied those who were enjoying the blessings of the Lord in the part of “sheol” that was called Abraham’s bosom or Paradise.

Even though these Old Testament saints were blessed, they were not able to enter into the presence of the Lord because the atonement of Christ had not been completed. So, in that sense, they were captives. When Jesus died, He descended into “sheol” and took the captives captive. He took them to heaven, into the very presence of God and vacated that part of “sheol.” Now, all that’s left in “sheol” is hell. In the New Testament, the Greek word that is used to refer to this area is “hades” and it is only applied to the place of torment.
