MFM Daily Devotional 6 December 2018 – A Divine Helper

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 6 December 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – A Divine Helper

TOPIC: A Divine Helper (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 6 December 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 5:2-9

MEMORY VERSE: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” – Psalms 121:1-2

The MESSAGE:

For anyone to prosper in life, he needs a helper. As believers, the Holy Spirit is our ever present helper. The Holy Spirit also orchestrates divine helpers to take us to our places of destiny which God has prepared for us. There is no one in life that does not need help from time to time. No matter your status in the society, you will need one form of help or another at some point in time. However, where you seek help from matters a lot. As a child of God, until you understand and appreciate the fact that your help can only come from above, then you may be swimming in the wrong waters. Many children of God do complicate or compound their problems the more by running helter-skelter to where there is no help. Of course, everyone needs help at some point in time and for diverse reasons. For example:

1. When the battles and issues of life confront you, you will need help.
2. When the challenges of life box you into a corner, and you look at your rear and there is no helper; you look upfront and there is no one to consult; then, it suddenly dawns on you that the only option you have is to look up to God. That is the only place of assurance, which will guarantee authentic help from above.

During Jesus Christ’s ministry here on earth, He came across a man who has had an infirmity and could not walk for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-8). For all of those 38 years, no one could help him until Jesus came his way. In verse 7 of that same Scripture, he told Jesus, “…Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled to put me into the pool, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” This man was handicapped and unable to receive help until Jesus came his way to help him.

What kind of help do you need even now; you need to look up to Jesus (Hebrew 12:12a). He is up above, seated at the right hand side of the Father pleading our cause. Look up to Him today for help and solution to that problem.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
WHEN CHALLENGES OF LIFE BOX YOU TO A CORNER, LOOK UP TO HIM, WHO HAS THE KEY TO UNLOCK YOU.

PROPHETIC WORD:
As the LORD liveth and His Spirit is alive, you will overcome that battle that has been giving you sleepless night.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Any power that has kept me away from my helpers, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every wall of partition placed in between me and my helpers, I pull you down, in the name of Jesus.
3. Thou helper of my vision, appear now by fire, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. O Lord, raise the people that will make my vision meaningful for me, in the name of Jesus.
5. O Lord, assign those you will use to elevate me this year, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every evil veil keeping my helpers away from me, be consumed by the fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
7. Anywhere the world has hidden me away from my helpers, O Lord; expose me to them, in the name of Jesus.

Divine Preservation Through the Word of God By Pastor Paul Enenche

END OF YEAR PRESERVATION & POWER COMMUNION SERVICE – 5TH DECEMBER 2018
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): DEUTERONOMY 6:24
MESSAGE TOPIC: DIVINE PRESERVATION THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD
BY: DR. PAUL ENENCHE

SERVICE OBJECTIVES
1. Understanding the preservation power of the Word of God
2. Understanding how the Word of God preserves

The commandments are the preservative of God’s people (Deut. 6:24)
The Word of God is a Preserver of life and destiny (Ps. 40:11; John 17:17)

SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF DIVINE PRESERVATION BY THE WORD OF GOD:
1. The Word of God kept Jacob alive through a 21-year journey in a foreign land (Gen. 28:12, 15; 31:38-40; 31:24, 27-29; 32:1)
If God is your help, man may hate you but they cannot harm you!

2. The Word of God kept Peter above the storm; It kept him from sinking and dying in the storm (Matt. 14:28-29)

3. The Word of God kept Paul the Apostle and all those who travelled with him alive in the midst of a terrible storm that completely destroyed their ship (Acts 27:22-25)
Nobody who has ever believed God has ever been put to shame

I BELIEVE GOD!

4. The Word of God crossed the Master and His disciples to the other side of the sea alive when the storm was determined not to let them cross (Mark 4:35-41)
If you have the Word you don’t need to fear the storm; before the storm came, the Word of God was on ground
There is no storm you cannot face if you are worded
If you have the Word, even in the midst of the storm you can go to sleep
There is nothing you cannot sleep on top when you have the Word

THE PRESERVATION ACTION OF THE WORD:
1. The Word of God is a Shield against the arrows of wickedness (Ps. 91:4)
The Word of God in your life per time, shields your chest from arrows of destruction
The Word of God is your mega shield and your mini shield (Ps. 91:4)
Your revelation is your preservation, defence and protection

2. The Word of God is Light that disarms the forces of darkness (Ps. 119:105; John 1:5)
Everything the devil represents is darkness and the Word of God is Light
You don’t beg or negotiate with darkness if you carry light (John 1:5)

3. The Word of God transmits the life of God and the life of God destroys the forces of death (John 6:63; Phil. 2:16; 1 John 1:1-2; Ps. 16:8-11)

4. The Word of God is Food for faith and faith is tool for victory over the forces of the enemy
(Rom. 10:8, 17; 1 John 5:4; Heb. 11:1; Eph. 6:16)
The Word of God feeds your faith and your faith is your victory over the forces of wickedness

5. The Word of God activates the ministry of angels and angels are supernatural forces of preservation (Ps. 103:20; John 1:51; Ps. 91:11; 34:7)
Angels hearken to the words that we speak
Angels ascend and descend upon the Word (John 1:51)
The ministry of the Word equals the ministry of angels

HOW TO ENGAGE THE WORD FOR PRESERVATION:
1. The Word you speak preserves you (Ps. 103:20; 91:11; 34:7; Num. 14:28; Isa. 44:26)
God uses your words to manufacture your defence. When you speak, you are not being braggadocious, you are being realistic and battle-conscious

2. The Word you keep in your heart preserves you (Prov. 3:1-2; Heb. 2:9; Prov. 6:20-22; Lev. 26:6)
Resident revelation is protective revelation
The length of your life is affected by what occupies your heart (Heb. 2:9)
Length of days refers to when God makes your 24 hours longer than usual; it refers to hyper-productivity of days
Long life refers to living a long life; not being cut short before time
Peace refers to living with grace; your youth is renewed
A weapon you have not loaded cannot fire!
When you sleep, your resident revelation will keep you (Prov. 6:22)

3. The Word you live preserves you (Deut. 6:24)
The Word you do, is a tool for your preservation; it keeps you alive

PRAYERS
Father, I come before You today and I thank You for Your Word that is a Shield for me, that lightens my darkness, that transmits the life of God, that is food for my faith and tool for my victory, and captivates the ministry of angels. I receive the grace Lord to speak the right Words, to keep Your Word in my heart and to live your Word, in Jesus’ Name.

Connecting to the Pentecostal Power by Pastor Olukoya

MANNA WATER SERVICE SERMON FOR DECEMBER 5TH 2018
MINISTERING: DR D.K. OLUKOYA (General Overseer MFM Worldwide)
TOPIC: CONNECTING TO THE PENTECOSTAL POWER
TEXT: Luke 24:29, Acts 1:8

INTRODUCTION
There is a power from above, different from the power from the moon, from the water etc.
It is a power from above, it is a power in which every other power bow before.
There is a principle, when there is a smaller power, automatically, the bigger power must overshadow it.
It is a tragedy from Christianity that we have not receive the power from above.

The demonstration of this power was NOT only kept to the prophet. That is why Jesus said “Have ye not know that ye are gods; that is why the king of Kings and Lord of Lords but the problem is we are not connected to the power. Unfortunately, only few people demonstrate the power of God.

That is why even some pastors go to witch doctor or magicians to receive power for miracles. The reason why we have all this pastors is because even the congregation are not connected to the power of God, that is why most people have been enslave by some men of God

Until a level of power fall on you, you cannot rise to another level you want, some people are operating under the deficit but they need a power to move them from the dungeon to the palace. Some people are Gold minded that whatsoever they place their hands on will prosper but when that same fellow is cage, then they will be staying in the dunghill instead of staying in the palace, that is why some Christians are afraid because they are powerless afraid of demonic charms

“The signs of Christianity is not a cross, the signs of Christianity is the tongues of fire”. If you claim the signs of Christianity is the cross, Jesus has left there a long time ago
The bible did not put us in the darkness, it was only in the Old Testament that the prophets alone experience the power, today everybody must possess his power.
The in-fill of the Holy Ghost is the source of power. Everybody is covered to prophesy (more than before, we need to connect to the Pentecostal power).

– This is the power that cannot be reproach,
– Insulted
– That make way where there is no way
– That conquers all opposition
– That returns all arrows to the owner
– That remove trouble situation
– That makes progress inevitable
– That do great wonders
– That makes your enemy to work for you
– That divides the red sea effortlessly
– That disgraces and silence idol worshippers
– That brings dry bones to live

TO GET CONNECTED TO THE PENTECOSTAL POWER
– You need to become a friend of Jesus
– Confess all sins
– Cry out to receive the power

PRAYER POINT
1. Pentecostal power, i am available, overshadow my life, in the name of Jesus
2. Holy ghost, turn me to fire, in the name of Jesus.

Open Heavens for Teens 6 December 2018 – Ignorant?

Topic: Ignorant? [Open Heavens for Teens 6 December 2018]

Memorise: How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Proverbs 1:22

Read: Proverbs 1:22-23 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Daniel 7-8, 1 John 5

MESSAGE:

In His letter to the church at Smyrna, the Lord said He was aware of their poverty, yet they were rich. This could mean several things. It could mean that they were impoverished because they did not know that they were rich. In any case ignorance was a crucial factor. Even today, many believers are living below Heaven’s level of provision because they do not know what is due to them. Hence Hosea 4:6 says many are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

The Word of God contains virtually all truths to guide us into success in every area of life, but how many people devote time to study the Bible and internalise it? Knowledge is power. Knowledge is a key to life. The more of it you have, the more you can get out of life. Anyone who refuses to acquire knowledge is only limiting what he or she can get from life. What you don’t know can kill you; have you learnt all you need to know to achieve your spiritual, financial and academic goals?

Key Point: The more you know, the less limited you become. In all your getting get wisdom.

Hymn 9:

1. I am so glad that our Father in heaven
Tells of His love in the book He has given;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see;
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

Chorus
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus love me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.

2. Though I forget Him and wander away,
Still He doth love me whenever I stray;
Back to His dear loving arms would I flee,
When I remember that Jesus loves me.

3. Oh, if there’s only one song I can sing,
When in His beauty I see the great King,
This shall my song in eternity be,
“Oh, what a wonder that Jesus loves me.”

Our Daily Bread 6 December 2018 Devotional – Lonely Christmas

Topic: Lonely Christmas [Our Daily Bread 6 December 2018 Devotional]

Read: Psalm 25:14–22, Bible in a Year: Daniel 3–4; 1 John 5

My eyes are ever on the Lord. Psalm 25:15

The loneliest Christmas I ever spent was in my grandfather’s cottage near Sakogu, northern Ghana. I was just fifteen, and my parents and siblings were a thousand kilometers away. In previous years, when I’d been with them and my village friends, Christmas was always big and memorable. But this Christmas was quiet and lonely. As I lay on my floor mat early Christmas morning, I remembered a local song: The year has ended; Christmas has come; the Son of God is born; peace and joy to everybody. Mournfully, I sang it over and over.

My grandmother came and asked, “What song is that?” My grandparents didn’t know about Christmas—or about Christ. So I shared what I knew about Christmas with them. Those moments brightened my loneliness.

Alone in the fields with only sheep and occasional predators, the shepherd boy David experienced loneliness. It would not be the only time. Later in his life he wrote, “I am lonely and afflicted” (Psalm 25:16). But David didn’t allow loneliness to cause him to be despondent. Instead, he sang: “My hope, Lord, is in you” (v. 21).

From time to time we all face loneliness. Wherever Christmas may find you this year, in loneliness or in companionship, you can enjoy the season with Christ.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that with You I’m not alone even in my times of loneliness. This Christmas, help me to enjoy my fellowship with You and to reach out to others.

With Jesus at Christmas, we’re never alone.

INSIGHT
Psalm 25 is a prayer for and celebration of God’s guidance—extended to anyone willing to humbly learn from Him (vv. 5, 8–9, 12). Even the structure of this psalm as an acrostic poem (each line sequentially following the Hebrew alphabet) reinforces this emphasis on learning from God, since the structure was often chosen for its helpfulness in memorization.

The psalm’s theme of worship as a lifestyle of learning from God is also captured by the words “put my trust” in verse 1—more literally, “lift up my soul” (nrsv; “soul” referring to all of oneself, both body and spirit). The image, alluding to the worship posture of uplifted hands, offers a beautiful picture of walking with God: we honestly lift up before Him all of ourselves and our struggles, while continually waiting with open, trusting hands to receive all we need from our loving, gracious God (vv. 15–18, 20–21).

DCLM Daily Manna 6 December 2018 – A Humble Faith

Topic: A Humble Faith [DCLM Daily Manna 6 December 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Luke 7:1-10 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof” (Luke 7:6).

MESSAGE:

Humility, as opposed to pride and arrogance, has the potential of opening closed doors. The humble in heart always esteems the other better than himself. Some nations have had to fight needless protracted wars because their leaders held on to vain pride while their people perished in unnecessary and avoidable conflicts.

Our text deals with the issue of a centurion’s servant’s sickness. He was a Roman army officer and ordinarily, he would not have bothered about his servant’s sickness. But he took the matter to Jesus, not as a last resort but because he believed Jesus came from God. He had recognised the Jews as carriers of God’s redemption message and had built a Synagogue for them. His faith and humility was particularly amazing because of his Gentile background, having not been brought up to know the living and true God. He made it clear. ‘I am not worthy…’

As a military commander, the centurion knew that Jesus, by far a greater Commander than himself, did not need to come to his house for the servant to be healed just the same way he (a mere military commander) did not need to be present, for his orders to be carried out. Thus, he said to Jesus, ‘Speak the word only’. Immediately, Jesus spoke the word and the servant was healed.

Many people have lost the opportunity of receiving their healing and deliverance at various church programmes because of lack of simple faith and a humble disposition. If, today, such people could sincerely show humility and exercise an unwavering faith in God’s word, they will receive their much needed miracles. You can do so today.

Thought For The Day: Before honour is humility.

School Bans Santa, Christmas Trees, Candy Canes.. and the Colors Red and Green

School Bans Santa, Christmas Trees, Candy Canes.. and the Colors Red and Green

A legal organization that specializes in religious liberty issues is urging a Nebraska school principal to overturn her directive that banned anything related to Christmas – including Christmas music, Christmas carols, Christmas trees, candy canes and the colors red and green.

“I come from a place that Christmas and the like are not allowed in schools, as over the years in my educational career, this has evolved into the expectation for all educators,” Jennifer Sinclair, the principal of Manchester Elementary School, wrote in a letter to faculty.

The banned items involve not only religious symbols but secular ones, too, including Santa.

Liberty Counsel, a legal group that specializes in First Amendment issues, wrote the superintendent of Elkhorn Public Schools, urging him to overturn the policy.

“The ban violates the U.S. Constitution by showing hostility toward Christianity,” the letter read. “The ban also violates Elkhorn Public Schools board policy; the academic freedom rights of teachers; and it violates the First Amendment right of students to receive information.”

The banned items include:

  • Santas or Christmas items (clipart) on worksheets.

  • Christmas trees in classrooms.

  • Elf on the Shelf.

  • Christmas carols.

  • Christmas music.

  • Scholastic books that are Christmas related.

Ohio Officials Forced to Relocate Nativity Scene, Ten Commandments Monument or Face Lawsuit

Ohio Officials Forced to Relocate Nativity Scene, Ten Commandments Monument or Face Lawsuit

The small city of Dover, Ohio made the decision to relocate its Ten Commandments monument and a nativity display after being threatened with a lawsuit. Both the monument and the nativity display were on property owned by the city.

CBN News reports that the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist organization with roots in Madison, Wisconsin, sent a letter to the Ohio city earlier in the year which claimed that a worried citizen reported the monument and nativity scene, as well as a sizable Latin cross on a separate display. The Freedom of Religion Foundation then informed the city that all three pieces reported were a violation of the separation of church and state.

Although Dover law director Douglas O’Meara did not agree with the foundation, he points out the city’s choice to err on the side of caution.

When speaking with Fox affiliate WJW-TV in Cleveland, O’Meara disclosed, “The response would be that it can be very expensive, from the point of view it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

“27 years I’ve been mayor, nothing like this has ever happened,” Mayor Richard Homrighausen revealed to the television station. “Never imagined it would happen.”

An article from TheTimesReporter states that both the monument and the nativity display were moved 100 feet away from property belonging to the city and relocated to…

An ‘Honor Beyond Words’: Christian Singer Michael W. Smith Performs at President George H.W. Bush’s Funeral

An ‘Honor Beyond Words’: Christian Singer Michael W. Smith Performs at President George H.W. Bush’s Funeral

Christian singer Michael W. Smith performed his song “Friends” at President George H.W. Bush’s funeral on Wednesday.

In an interview with CBN News, Smith said having the opportunity to perform at the 41stPresidents funeral is an “honor beyond words.”

President Bush, who fought a long battle with vascular Parkinsonism, died on Friday, at the age of 94.

According to Newsweek, Bush requested that his close friend, Smith, sing “Friends” at his funeral service.

“First and foremost, I hope the song is very honoring of the president because he loved the song,” the three-time Grammy award winner, told Christianity Today in an interview on Wednesday. “The last time I saw him when we said goodbye, he gave me a hug, pointed his finger in the air, and with a twinkle in his eye, said, ‘Friends are friends forever.’”

“He’s just been an inspiration to me,” the singer continued. “We didn’t talk about politics much. But we did have a lot of conversations about God and faith.”

According to Christianity Today, Smith met Bush in 1989, when he performed at the White House for Christmas. The two became fast friends, they even went on vacation to Greece together.

Reportedly the two bonded over their shared friendship with the late Billy Graham, who died at the beginning of 2018. “One thing that tied…

Was Jesus a Historical Figure?

Was Jesus a Historical Figure?

Two separate sources recently questioned the historicity of Jesus. But let us set the record straight.

First, on a comedy show on TBS, “The Guestbook,” just before Christmastime, one of the characters likened belief in Jesus to belief in Santa. The episode is called, “Tonight you become a man”—where a character supposedly becomes an adult by realizing Santa and Jesus are just myths.

Second, the Muslim prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, claimed that there is “no mention of Jesus in history.” Khan’s view that Jesus is not a historical figure puts him out of step with  Mohammed, who believed that “Prophet Jesus” (as he would have called him) was historical. (It’s also worth noting that Khan was born on October 5, 1952—that is to say, 1952 years after the reported birth of Jesus.)

But what about this matter of Jesus and history? Is Jesus Christ a verifiable historical figure, using the criteria that historians use, or not?

Will Durant, the great non-Christian historian who wrote the series, The Story of Civilization, noted in his third volume, Caesar and Christ (1944), that if the criteria by which some philosophers claim Jesus didn’t really exist as a historical person were used consistently, then we’d have to throw out noteworthy historical figures, such as Hammurabi or King David by that same criteria.

Durant, a respected historian, had no such doubts as to Jesus’…
