MFM Daily Devotional 22 November 2018 – Dealing With The Spirit Of Laziness

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 22 November 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Dealing With The Spirit Of Laziness

TOPIC: Dealing With The Spirit Of Laziness (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 22 November 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 24:30-34

MEMORY VERSE: “How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?Proverbs 6:9

The MESSAGE:

laziness is the mother of poverty and it is a spirit that can never be of God. It is demonic. It is the spirit of “I will do it if it does not take too much effort.” Laziness is the act of listening to the voice of the devil and the enemy saying “tomorrow or later”. It is pulling back emotionally from anything that is important. The victims seek to know nothing, interfere with nothing, enjoy good things without willing to work for it, do things that require little effort, and remain alive only because there is nothing of worth to die for, (that is, whatever will happen, let it happen).

The spirit of laziness is the killer of hope and dreams. It causes indifference towards something important. It makes the victim believe that he has entitlement to all the blessings of this world while he contributes nothing. Beloved, it is bewitchment and putting on the shoes of procrastination. Laziness, at times, does not mean you are not doing something, but that you may not sincerely do what you ought to do, or fail to do what is to be done when it needs to be done. This is failure. The characteristics of a lazy person therefore include:

  1. Sleeping away valuable hours.
  2. Resting before you get tired.
  3. Keeping on planning to do it tomorrow.
  4. A demonic gravity.

The dangers of laziness are numerous. They include: never experiencing the best from God, never a match to the enemy, inability to finish any good thing started, no impact on other people’s lives, becoming useless and unteachable, remaining a servant forever, wishful thinking but no achievement, and being doomed to poverty. Spiritual laziness gives birth to physical laziness. That is, before somebody is physically lazy, the person must have been spiritually lazy. Spiritual laziness is when somebody fails to nourish oneself with the word of God and lacks meaningful quite time. It is when there are satanic tactics to suit satanic excuses for prayer, fasting, meditation, etc. It is when you do nothing when you notice that colleagues are leaving you behind.

Beloved, you need to examine yourself. When you realise that you are lazy, work it out with God and make a conscious effort to stop being lazy. One of the consequences of laziness is complaining that God is not blessing you. Come to terms with yourself and with God on your side, maximum results is guaranteed. All you need are discipline and determination. Ask God for help. Counter laziness, starve it and do your work, no matter how you feel. Also, carry out personal deliverance to deal with the demons behind it.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND LAZINESS HAVE MADE MANY CHRISTIANS TO BECOME SLAVES TO COMMERCIAL PROPHETS.

PROPHETIC WORD:
I curse every spirit of laziness in your life to die by fire.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. I receive the divine mandate to kill all spirits of laziness operating in my life, in Jesus’ name.
2. Power that makes one to start a good thing and never finish it, I detach my destiny from you, die, in Jesus’ name.
3. Anything inside of me, making my enemy stronger than me, die, in Jesus’ name.

EVENING
4. Powers assigned to useless and waste my life, die, in Jesus’ name.
5. Spirit of permanent servant to others, operating in my life, die, in Jesus’ name.
6. Plantation of laziness and the mother of poverty in my foundation, I uproot you today, burn to ashes, in Jesus’ name.
7. I jump out of the pit and valley of spiritual poverty, and I mount up with wings like eagles, in Jesus’ name.

DCLM Daily Manna 22 November 2018 – The Good Old Path

Topic: The Good Old Path [DCLM Daily Manna 22 November 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Jeremiah 6:9-17 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein (Jeremiah 6:16).

MESSAGE:

The search for truth and discovery of the ultimate path to life is a universal quest. Wise men in all ages have tried with varying degrees of frustrations to figure out the right paths for themselves and their societies. These had led to the founding of different religious beliefs, social philosophies and ideologies, which have filled the world today with confusion.

The responsibility of every one is to search out the true path to life and peace, which God has approved for mankind. The focus of our reflection today is the failure of the children of Israel to continue in the good old path which God established for them through unchanging covenants with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob instead of pursuing the vain worship of the heathen.

We owe it a duty to ourselves and to posterity to know Christ Jesus, who made an indisputable declaration that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He presented Himself preeminently to concerned seekers of the truth. We should also reveal Him to people around us. This is the only way the world can be saved and men encouraged to walk the good old path.

It is disheartening that while Prophet Jeremiah urged the people of Israel to walk the good path and find rest for their souls, they rebuffed this plead and persuasion bluntly, telling him: “we will not walk therein” (Jeremiah 6:16). We must never think nor behave like them.

God has promised to pour out His anger and fury on those who will not walk in His approved path. Save yourself the trauma of unbelief and rebellion. Believe and walk with Jesus now and always.

Thought For The Day: No alternative to the old path. Only the wise treds it.

Teens Open Heavens 22 November 2018 – Trust Him

Topic: Trust Him [Teens Open Heavens 22 November 2018]

Memorise: In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do to me. – Psalm 56:11

Read: Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 27-28, James 4

MESSAGE:

It is a dangerous thing to trust in man. God placed a curse on anyone who trusts in man (Jeremiah 17:5). The moment you put your trust in man, that fellow will most likely fail, not because he wants to but because God wants to prove to you that He is God and in Him alone should you trust. If you look back, you will realise that there are several instances when someone promised to help you or give you a gift but failed.

Trusting in man is trusting in mere dust; that man can die or be removed from office, or lose the means by which he thought to help you. Have you started building your ambition and dreams on family connections? Have you started thinking that your success will be fast because a man somewhere has promised to help? Desist from this very dangerous act and put your trust only in God. It is He alone that can help any man to help you. With His help, no man can lift a finger on your behalf

Prayer Point: Ask God for the grace to trust Him completely

Hymn 1:

1. My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

2. May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm and changeless be,
A living fire!

3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

4. When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then, in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul.

Seeds of Destiny 22 November 2018 Devotional – Faith and The Blessing

Topic: Faith and The Blessing [Seeds of Destiny 22 November 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. – Galatians 3:9

Thought For The Day: To believe is to be blessed.

The Scripture has confirmed that Abraham was the father of faith, and the same Abraham was also the father of the Blessing Covenant (Romans 4:19-20, Galatians 3:9). From our anchor Scripture, we see that faith is a trigger of the Blessing of God. So, if you are of faith, you must be blessed and if you are in doubt, you must be unblessed.

People of faith like Oral Roberts, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Bishop David Oyedepo, etc., are also some of the most blessed people among men. Kenneth Copeland, for instance has given out about twenty-seven aeroplanes as gifts to people. In some cases, he would even maintain the aeroplane for the recipient for about a year.

In Luke 1:45, the Bible says, And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

Also, in John 20:29, Jesus Christ said to Thomas, blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

So, faith is a provoker of the Blessing; it is an activation key to the blessing. To believe is to be blessed. To be a man or a woman of faith is to be candidate for the Blessing of God. Anywhere God sees a man or woman who believes, He unleashes the Blessing on him/her.

My counsel is, cultivate a lifestyle of faith in God in order to activate the Blessing of God on your life.

Remember this: To believe is to be blessed.

Assignments:
1. Search the Scriptures and locate light that will fuel your faith for the Blessing.
2. Allow the Word to change your mind-set; always believe that God’s plan concerning your life will come to pass.
3. Confirm your faith by taking Blessing-provoking actions.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE POWER OF THE BLESSING

Prayer: O Lord, I believe Your Word concerning my prosperity on earth. I receive Your Blessing today; let it swallow anything resisting my prosperity, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Our Daily Bread 22 November 2018 Devotional – What We Have

Topic: What We Have [Our Daily Bread 22 November 2018 Devotional]

Read: 2 Corinthians 8:1–12, Bible in a Year: Ezekiel 18–19; James 4

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. 2 Corinthians 8:12

My friend was eager to gather her family and friends for a festive holiday celebration at her home. Each of the guests looked forward to gathering around the table together and wanted to help defray the expense of feeding so many by contributing to the meal. Some would bring bread, others salad or a side dish. For one guest, however, money was exceptionally tight. Although she looked forward to spending the evening with those whom she loved, she couldn’t afford to purchase any food. So, instead, she offered to clean the host’s home as her gift.

She would have been welcome at the table had she come empty-handed. Yet she looked at what she did have to offer—her time and skills—and brought them to the gathering with her whole heart. I think that’s precisely the spirit of Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 8. They had been eager to give to help some fellow Christians, and he urged them to follow through on that effort. He commended them for their desire and their willingness, saying their motivation to give is what makes a gift of any size or amount acceptable (v. 12).

We’re often quick to compare our giving to that of others, especially when our resources don’t afford us the luxury of giving as much as we’d like to. But God views our giving differently: it’s our willingness to give what we have that He loves.

Prayer: Lord, help me see what You’ve given me, even if it doesn’t seem like much by the world’s standards. Help me to give generously.

God loves wholehearted giving of any measure.

Seven-Year-Old Who Lost Her Home in California Fire Holds Toy Drive for Children in Need

Seven-Year-Old Who Lost Her Home in California Fire Holds Toy Drive for Children in Need

A little girl recently who lost everything in the recent California Fire made the selfless decision to hold a toy drive for children in need.

Seven-year-old Sophia Novotny and her family suddenly lost their Agoura Hills home after the lesser-known “Woolsey Fire” destroyed the area located just north of LA. Sophia’s mother, April Novotny, told ABC-7, “very quickly she realized their things were gone.”  Although the family was devastated by the catastrophic event, the extraordinary seven-year-old began to make plans to help other children that were impacted by the disaster.

“The day that we lost the house, she said, ‘Let’s get some toys for the other kids who have lost their house,’” April mentioned. On Sunday, the second-grader held the “Sophia’s Wishes” toy drive in Thousand Oaks. The event proved to be a great success, and hundreds of toys were delivered to children from the area who, like Sophia, lost everything in the fire.  The toy drive, which was made laid on in partnership with a local business, RadNet, brought in hundreds of guests who were excited to help out.

With Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly approaching, Sophia revealed that her only goal in creating the toy drive was “to help other kids.”

“I know how it feels to lost [sic] your things,” she noted.

April took to Facebook to share her appreciation…

Arizona Supreme Court to Consider: Can Christian Artists be Jailed for Views?

Arizona Supreme Court to Consider: Can Christian Artists be Jailed for Views?

The Arizona Supreme Court Tuesday agreed to hear a case involving two Christian artists who could face fines and jail time if they don’t create artwork celebrating same-sex weddings.

Joanna Duka and Breanna Koski own Brush & Nib Studio and create custom artwork using painting, calligraphy and handlettering for weddings and other events. But because of their Christian faith, they won’t make custom artwork celebrating same-sex weddings.

Under a Phoenix ordinance, Duka and Koski could be jailed for up to six months and/or fined $2,500 each day they are in violation if they refuse to design artwork for a same-sex couple who requests wedding announcements or invitations.

They sued in state court seeking to overturn the ordinance, but lost at the court of appeals. They then appealed to the Arizona Supreme Court.

Alliance Defending Freedom is representing the couple.

“Joanna and Breanna gladly serve everyone,” said ADF’s petition to the Arizona Supreme Court. “They ‘will happily sell their pre-made works to anyone …. for any event.”

But for same-sex weddings, the two women will not design custom-made art celebrating the ceremony.

“Their Christian beliefs forbid them from creating ‘custom artwork that conveys messages condoning, supporting, or participating in activities or ideas that violate their religious beliefs,’” the…

Church in Canada Nullifies Woman’s Membership Due to Her Unrepentant Lesbianism

Church in Canada Nullifies Woman’s Membership Due to Her Unrepentant Lesbianism

A Canadian woman who is in a same-sex relationship turned to Facebook and the media after her church informed her that she was no longer welcome as a member. The church pushed her to repent of homosexuality on multiple occasions, but she refused.

Kimberley Mills explained to The Star that she had spent four years as a member of Cavalry Baptish Church, and even served as a youth leader. Despite belonging to the church for years, she was hesitant to “come out” to the church community after hearing a sermon in which homosexuality was denounced.

She did, however, tell a few women in her Bible study group that she had been with another woman for a number of years. She later revealed the same information to others over a roundtable discussion.

According to ChristianNews.net, various church leaders and members encouraged Mills to quit her sinful lifestyle so she could be reconciled with the Lord.

Mills received a letter from Deacon Chairman Tim Wagner on October 30th, in which he informed her that the church would nullify her membership until she chose to abandon her sinful ways and repent.

“It was brought to our attention that you have chosen to live in disobedience to the Scriptures, specifically disregarding the warning of 1 Corinthians 6:9, in spite of repeated efforts by other believers in your life, including other Calvary leadership and finally…

Number of Witches in the U.S. Soars as Millennials Reject Christianity, Claims Newsweek

Number of Witches in the U.S. Soars as Millennials Reject Christianity, Claims Newsweek

Media site NewsBusters.org says that a Newsweek article claiming the number of witches in the U.S. is climbing while millennials reject Christianity isn’t accurate.

The Newsweek article, “Number of Witches Rises Dramatically Across U.S. as Millennials Reject Christianity,” said that more millenials are turning from Christianity and looking to astrology and other pagan religions.

According to the article, there are 1.5 million potential practicing witches in the U.S.

“From 1990 to 2008, Trinity College in Connecticut ran three large, detailed religion surveys,” said the article, quoting news site Quartz. “Those have shown that Wicca grew tremendously over this period. From an estimated 8,000 Wiccans in 1990, they found there were about 340,000 practitioners in 2008.”

NewsBusters, however, pointed to sociologist Rodney Stark, who said that “young adults begin to attend church less often in their ‘independent years’ and have always done so for as long back as such data has been collected.”

“Add to that research which suggests people are leaving mainline churches mainly for other Christian congregations, and the witch wave is beginning to look like a witch puddle,” Jacob Comello wrote for NewsBusters.

Comello also added that although people may have “switched to witch,” they have done so because “now that Wicca has touched-up…

Chick-fil-A Lacks the Right ‘Corporate Values,’ Rider University Tells Students

Chick-fil-A Lacks the Right ‘Corporate Values,’ Rider University Tells Students

When Rider University administrators asked students which new restaurant they wanted opened on campus, they likely didn’t expect a controversy. They also likely didn’t expect students to choose Chick-fil-A.

But that’s what happened, with Chick-fil-A finishing as the top choice of students at the New Jersey-based private school.

Rider administrators, though, chose to go against the wishes of students and not open a Chick-fil-A because “their corporate values have not sufficiently progressed enough to align with those of Rider,” according to an email sent to Rider students that was obtained by Campus Reform.

The school wanted to “promote … inclusion for all people,” the email added.

Jan Friedman-Krupnick, the university’s assistant vice president of student affairs, said both sides of the issue were considered.

“It is important to me and to the University that all voices are heard,” Friedman-Krupnick told Campus Reform. “There are a number of factors that contribute to a campus’ decision to invite a retail partner on campus. While Chick-fil-A is among other restaurants preferenced by Rider students, there are members of the community (faculty, staff, and students) who strongly opposed the option as well.”

Students who backed Chick-fil-A were disappointed.

“If people didn’t want to buy their food then they don’t have…
