St David’s Church in Carmarthen closed in 2003 after storm damage.

The grade-II listed nineteenth century building – which still had its stained glass windows and pillars intact, sold for £1 to a developer.

Sean Roper, from Paul Fosh Auctions told Wales Online: “We have handled a number of churches for sale at auction over the years but this is certainly the biggest we have ever sold. It’s a really impressive piece of property.

“We’re selling the property on behalf of the developer who bought the church previously but who now says he has his hands full working on a number of his other projects including the renovation of a castle in north Wales.”

Roper said the former church could be converted to flats, a town house or for community or commercial use, subject to planning permission.

It will be offered at Paul Fosh Auctions on 6th December at The Park Inn Hotel, Llanedyrn, Cardiff, starting at 5pm.

Viewers are urged at the end of the advert to “stand with Planned Parenthood” before a logo of the Agenda Project Action Fund appears.

Planned Parenthood is a non proft organisation in America who provide health services, including abortions.

Laura Ricketts from the pro-life Christian group ‘And Then There Were None’ told CBN News the advert has backfired.

She explained: “The pro-abortion lobby needs to reinforce the fact that a baby isn’t a baby unless you decided the baby is a baby.

“Abortion can’t survive if the general public accepts the fact that humanity begins at conception.

“And so the subtle very insidious message of this – is that ‘you don’t get the cute and the cuddly unless you want it – it’s not there really’ and that’s a very dangerous message to be spreading.

“On the surface, those of us who are pro-life are appalled, but you see, when you work in the abortion industry, or a woman who receives an abortion, it’s very hard to admit to yourself what you already know and what you already know is that is a child.”

Comments under the video posted online both questioned the authenticity of the advert and the message it sent.

Southgate has lived in Harrogate in North Yorkshire since he moved in 2001 after signing to play for Middlesbrough.

The Yorkshire tourist board awarded Watford-born Gareth Southgate, 48, with the honour at the White Rose tourism awards.

The organisers said the award was for “inspirational individuals who have made a big impact on Yorkshire, despite being born outside the county lines”.

Southgate successfully led England to achieve their most successful performance in a World Cup for 28 years in the summer.

After receiving the award, Southgate said: “We love living here. I’ve thoroughly embraced Yorkshire life.

“Very proud and very honoured. I’ve lived here longer than I’ve lived any other part of the country, so the values and the mentality of the people and the friendliness of the people has been incredible.”

Lord Alton of Liverpool urged ministers to use the funding – which totalled £463 million last year – as leverage in helping ensure Asia Bibi can safely seek asylum in another country.

The crossbencher, who is a Christian, was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying a “failure” by the UK to “speak or act [on behalf of Ms Bibi] has been craven and shameful”.

He also said: “Britain needs to do two things. First, give her sanctuary here.

“And second, until they uphold the rule of law and protect the country’s minorities, we should redirect the £380,000 we give every day to Pakistan – £2.8 billion over the past two decades – to more worthy recipients.”

Asia Bibi has been kept in a secret location in the Pakistani capital Islamabad for security reasons after she was acquitted of blasphemy last month.

Hard-line extremists, who accuse the mother-of-five of insulting Islam’s prophet Muhammad, want her to be publicly hanged. She has always maintained her innocence.

Protests which erupted after she was cleared by the country’s Supreme Court brought key roads in major cities to a standstill.

It is understood Asia is being prevented from traveling abroad until a petition calling for a review of the court’s decision is heard.
