Pastor Under Fire for Kicking Man Dressed Like a Woman Out of Church Service

Pastor Antonio Rocquemore of Power House International Ministries in Chicago, Illinois, landed in hot water after publicly reprimanding a male church member who attended Sunday night’s church service dressed as a woman.

video of Rocquemore’s public display of disapproval was brought to the attention of many by Christian James Lhuillier, who claimed that the pastor was wrong in shaming the church member.

“Some of y’all are going to have to excuse my language but I am tired of this sh*t. In a place that is supposed to be a place of change, a place of deliverance, whatever you want to call it why would you destroy someone in front of a room full of people?” Lhuillier asked.

“This is the kind of bullsh*t that causes people to go home and commit suicide. Sh*t like this is the reason that the church has no power in 2018 because they are so worried about the wrong things. I know drag queens and transsexuals that can pray you out of sickness faster and some of these preachers that collect your love offerings every Sunday,” he continued.

“I would have turned that church clean out do you hear me!!!!!!!!! It’s time for us to stand up for what we believe and stand in our truth and walk away from these ministries that bash who we are. Too many illegitimate relationships have been created trying to conform to a mold you were never meant to fit. I have a great…

Christian music writer Kurt Kaiser, whose six-decade career of songwriting included popular spiritual songs like “Pass It On” and “Oh How He Loves You And Me,” has passed away after a lengthy illness. He was 83 years old.

Kaiser died Monday at his home in Waco, Texas, according to an announcement published by local media outlet the Waco Tribune-Herald.

Kaiser is survived by his wife Pat, four children and their spouses, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, and three brothers.

Terry York, professor of Christian ministry and church music in Baylor University’s Truett Seminary, said on Monday that Kaiser had a powerful impact on many through his music.

Christian Activist Says Nigeria is Aiding Boko Haram by Freeing Hundreds of Jihadis Who Claim They’ve Repented – Urban Christian News

The Nigerian government is “aiding and abetting” the deadly Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram by releasing captured militants who have “repented,” a Christian activist has said.

As the Borno state-based Boko Haram has made a name for itself as one of the world’s deadliest terrorist outfits, the Nigerian government appears to be paying “lip service” to the terrorist group, human rights activist Stephen Enada warned last weekend.

Enada, who fled from persecution in Nigeria in 2016 and was granted temporary non-immigrant worker status in the United States, spoke on Saturday night in front of believers gathered for the fifth annual night of prayer for the persecuted church hosted by the nonprofit group One Body in Washington, D.C.

Before giving his call for prayer to those gathered at the Chinese Community Church in Chinatown, Enada sat down with The Christian Post to speak about the ongoing persecution of Nigerian Christians. Boko Haram in northeast Nigeria and radicalized Fulani attacks targeting Christian villages and farms in the Middle Belt have killed thousands this year.

“It has been explained away by the government that Boko Haram has been decimated,” Enada, co-founder of the International Committee on Nigeria, explained. “But that is not true because most of the attacks on soft targets are still going on.”

The Nigerian military has claimed that it has completely “defeated” Boko Haram, a radical Islamic insurgency that began in 2009 and has killed tens of thousands of Christians and others across Nigeria, Chad, Niger and northern Cameroon, and…

Open Heaven 15 November 2018 – Glory not in Self

Open Heaven 15 November 2018 Thursday Daily Devotional by Pastor E A Adeboye – Glory not in Self

Topic: Glory not in Self (Open Heaven 15 November 2018)

Memorise: “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”Matthew 23:12

Read: Isaiah 14:12-17, Luke 18:10-13 (KJV)

Isaiah 14:12-17:
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Luke 18:10-13:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Bible in One Year: Ezekiel 5-7, Luke 22:14-38

Open Heaven 15 November 2018 Thursday MESSAGE:

To glory in self is to exalt one’s own worth above what it really is. It is the act of perceiving yourself as overly important. A person who glories in self is a person who thinks he stands on his own merits and by his own power. This is the reason why the father of lies, Satan, was cast down from heaven. Indeed, Satan is a classic example of someone who gloried in self. He exalted himself above what he really was, and he started to think of himself as better than everyone else, including God. Glorying in self has its roots in self-deception; it starts when a man deceives himself into thinking and believing in a false idea of himself.

Glorying in self might not be obvious at first. It is a very dangerous character flaw that sometimes creep in on children of God until it leads them to doom. What then are the signs that a person glories in self? One indicator is when you feel the need to parade in public what should and can be done in private. This was one of the issues Jesus had with the Pharisees. They would rather pray in public than pray behind closed doors, and when they fasted, they ensure that it showed on their faces, just so that everyone knew they were fasting. Even today, some people ensure that every good thing they do is done from the rooftops, so that people will see and praise them. In addition, people who glory in self tend to talk about themselves a lot. This is majorly because they feel the need to constantly list out their accomplishments and achievements. They are always quick to say “I” even when “we” is the approximate thing to say. People who glory in self honestly feel that they are better than everyone else.

Luke 18:10-13 shows a clear difference between a self-glorying person and a humble person. When humble people see themselves as needing God’s grace and mercy, self-glorying people think that their actions are perfect enough to dignify them before God and man.

A self-glorying person will never get anything from God. Only a person who recognises his or her need for God’s help and asks for it will get it. Glorying in self is very dangerous because at the end of the day, every single thing that the person thinks he or she has accomplished will be taken away, and shame, disappointment and humiliation will be the portion of such a fellow.

Open Heaven 15 November 2018 Thursday Prayer Point:

Father, please remove every trace of self-glory in me.

Open Heaven 15 November 2018 Thursday Hymn 10: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

1. My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Saviour divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

2. May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

4. When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Saviour, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul!

Lysa TerKeurst Reveals What God Taught Her Amid Husband’s Infidelity, Offers Wisdom for Couples

Expand | Collapse
(PHOTO: COURTESY OF MCCLURE MUNTSINGER PUBLIC RELATIONS)In her new book ” It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way: Finding Unexpected Strength When Disappointments Leave You Shattered,” Lysa TerKeurst shares her story of pain and heartbreak to help others wrestle between faith and feelings so they can find a place of personal healing and deep trust in God.

Lysa TerKeurst has identified what God has taught her through devastating circumstances, including her husband’s infidelity and a cancer diagnosis, and offered encouragement for Christian couples struggling to restore a broken marriage.

Last year, the best-selling author and president of Proverbs 31 Ministries revealed she would be divorcing her husband of 25 years after learning of his infidelity — a discovery she called the “worst kind of betrayal.” That same year, she announced she’d been diagnosed with breast cancer and would need to undergo a double mastectomy.

Fast forward one year, and TerKeurst is cancer-free, and she and her husband are working to restore their marriage. She told The Christian Post that while the previous season of her life was “excruciatingly painful,” she’s learned that with God, there’s “always a meanwhile.”

“No matter what I’m feeling today, with God, I can say, ‘Meanwhile, God is working good, even if I can’t see it,'” she explained. “Knowing that God exists gives me a purpose in the midst of my pain. That elevates my perspective.”

“We may not see it for a little while, but God is working good there even in the darkest times,” she added. “What you’re feeling is real. The circumstances are hard….

Trump Administration May Halt $100 Million in Fetal Tissue Research

Trump Administration May Halt $100 Million in Fetal Tissue Research

The Department of Health and Human Services is considering the cancellation of more than $100 million in medical research contracts involving fetal tissue.

The fetal tissue is obtained from miscarriages and legal abortions and is necessary for developing cures and vaccines, supporters say. Opponents, though, say the research is unethical. They also believe there are ethical alternatives.

“HHS is holding multiple listening sessions with various stakeholders [like] scientists, pro-life groups, ethicists, on this topic,” a spokesperson told Politico.

HHS Assistant Secretary Brett Giroir is reviewing the research and will release a recommendation, Politico reported.

An HHS invitation sent to experts in the field reads: “HHS leadership is inviting a select group of experts from diverse backgrounds to obtain their individual views on the use of fetal tissue in biomedical research and development.” The experts were asked to defend the use of fetal tissue or suggest alternatives, the outlet said.

HHS earlier this year ended a contract with Advanced Bioscience Resources, a company that provided fetal tissue to researchers. Pro-life groups applauded the move.

“So long as HHS trades taxpayer dollars for freshly-aborted baby body parts, the U.S. government is setting its own abortion quotas and sending the message that these children are worth…

Church Discipline Is ‘Meant to Produce Joy’ Not Oppression, Theology Professor Says

Congregations should practice church discipline for staff and members, says a theology professor who believes the practice is “meant to produce joy.”

Jeremy Kimble, assistant professor of theology at Cedarville University and elder at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, Ohio, was recently interviewed by Dallas Theological Seminary professor Darrell Bock on the podcast “The Table.”

In an episode posted online on Tuesday, Bock asked Kimble about the concerns some have with the concept of church discipline, namely that it can create “a pretty grim congregation.”

“Everyone’s keeping an eye on everyone to make sure that they’re dotting all their i’s and crossing all their t’s. And there’s the danger of almost a kind of legalism setting in the atmosphere, and almost an oppressive kind of environment,” said Bock.

Kimble responded that he felt it’s important for church discipline to be done with a proper recognition of “what sin actually is,” noting that with sin “we reject what is life giving and pure and good, for what is going to produce death and destruction.”

“If we can get back to that doctrine of sin, we can then start saying something like, ‘Discipline is done for progress and joy in the faith.’ It’s not meant to produce a, as you said, a grim, austere kind of environment….

350 Migrants from the Central America Caravan Arrive at the US Border

350 Migrants from the Central America Caravan Arrive at the US Border

A caravan of nine buses carrying migrants arrived at the southern border this week.

About 350 migrants are the first group to reach the U.S. border after weeks of travel through Central America and Mexico. The caravan members will rest and then line up to request asylum.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it is closing lanes at crossings near Tijuana so military can install barbed wire and barricades.

“CBP has been and will continue to prepare for the potential arrival of thousands of people migrating in a caravan heading toward the border of the United States,” said Pete Flores, the agency’s director of field operations in San Diego, said in a statement.

As the groups have traveled, President Donald Trump said he would deploy military to the border and sign a presidential proclamation that would suspend asylum. He called the caravans an “invasion.”

According to the Department of Defense, there are 2,800 troops stationed in Texas, 1,500 in Arizona and 1,500 in California.

At U.S. ports of entry, migrants are able to walk up to the port and request asylum in person. According to USA Today, only 100 asylum seekers can be processed per day.

In April, a caravan of about 400 migrants presented themselves at a port of entry to request asylum. Of that, 122 tired of waiting and entered the country illegally.

In total, some 5,000…

99-Y-O Man in Communist Country Finds Christ

Pixabay

A 99-year-old man living in a Communist country where some have no conceptions of the Gospel of any kind has said he wants to follow Jesus, a pastor and missionary revealed.

Jordan Standridge, pastor of evangelism at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, Virginia, wrote in The Cripplegate website on Tuesday that he met the man in question during a mission trip to a communist country last week, which he didn’t name.

Standridge explained that the trip took him to a remote part of the country, where people were largely isolated from the outside world.

“As I entered the first house and sat in the chair to begin, we were told by the father and daughter that they had never spoken to anyone about the Gospel before. The daughter was in her seventies and the father was 99,” the pastor shared.

“As we talked, it seemed as if the scales were falling from his eyes as the realization of his own sin, filled his eyes with tears. It was like talking to the thief on the cross. He simply asked God to forgive him of his sin and give him a new heart,” he continued.

“At the end of our time together, when I was writing some verses in his new Bible and writing down his name, the translator asked his daughter if she would read it to him, she said, ‘He reads better than I do! He’ll be…

Harvest Bible Chapel Staff Member Accused of Stealing over $250,000

Harvest Bible Chapel Staff Member Accused of Stealing over $250,000

Harvest Bible Chapel recently informed their congregation that the church’s Chief Information Officer defrauded the church. While the email to the congregation did not reveal the amount, the police report filed with the Elgin Police Department alleges that he stole more than $270,000 from the church.

In the October 23rd email, the church told their members that they “discovered evidence that a non-ministry member of our staff who worked in operations defrauded the church of an amount of money. If the evidence proves true, this would lead to a criminal charge being filed, and a preliminary report was filed today with the Elgin police department.

The police report identifies the staff member as “Jeffrey Parkham,” the church’s Chief Information Officer. However, The Christian Post looked over the church’s previous social media postings and found that the former staff member’s name listed as “Jeff Parham.” When contacted about the discrepancy, the church replied there would be “no further updates or comments on anything due to ongoing investigation.”

The church told the congregation that “the amount of money in question appears to be less than 1% of our annual budget and the time period appears to be less than a year.” The police report said the staff member’s actions began in July 2017. The church also reported that “We are looking to lay…
