TREM Devotional 10 November 2018 – You Are Not Ordinary

Topic: You Are Not Ordinary [TREM Devotional 11 November 2018]

“Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.” 2 Kings 6:14 KJV

The king of Syria sent for the arrest of Elisha because anytime the king of Syria planned to attack Israel, the prophet of God will always expose his battle strategy. The prophet will tell the king of Israel where the Syrians will come from and their plans were foiled. So, the king of Syria was wondering; who is the traitor amongst us? Who is telling the king what is going on in our camp? And he was told that there is a prophet in the land, his name is Elisha. Therefore, he sent his troops to capture him. Can you imagine that! They sent a whole battalion of heavily armed men for one person! Can you see the power you carry?

You see, we get so disillusioned and disenchanted simply because we don’t understand what we are carrying. We always say “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”. But do you believe it? Do you believe that whosoever is born of God, overcomes the world?

Beloved, you are a world overcomer! You are not ordinary! A whole battalion came for one man and they had to come in the night because they were so afraid that he might escape. You have power!

So, I challenge you never to be frightened by the battle that is raging. If we are not called to the battle ground, how do we know the God we serve? How do we know that Christ is truly the light of the world if there is no darkness? One thing I like about God is that He always shows Himself strong in the midst of crisis. If you want to get the best of God, put Him in crisis, He will show you that He is God. That is why I know without any shadow of doubt that if you stand, your God will bring you out from any crisis you may be in.

DCLM Daily Manna 11 November 2018 – The New Jerusalem

Topic: The New Jerusalem [DCLM Daily Manna 11 November 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Isaiah 27:1-13 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem” (Isaiah 27:13).

MESSAGE:

The age in which we live is referred to in the Scriptures as the “last days”. This age is very significant in the plan of God as it will usher us into another important series of events called “eschatology”.

A day has been appointed when Christ will destroy the power of death and the devil. This event will take place at the battle of Armageddon where armies of the Antichrist will be slaughtered. This last attempt by Satan to wrongfully take the kingdom from Christ will fail. The vineyard, the Church (Christians) will be preserved from the night of affliction and persecution.

The present dispensation is called the Church age which is characterised by evil, the dominion of Satan, darkness, ungodliness and all manner of sins. Plus, there is and will be a denial of God, Christ, faith and Christian living. This is because, the devil and all his fallen angels, walk to and fro the whole earth. With the final judgment of sinners and the defeat of the old serpent, God will replace this polluted earth with a new earth and a new heaven that will match His glory, holiness and righteousness (Revelation 21:1-4).

The great, holy and eternal heaven will have New Jerusalem as its capital. Here, Christ and all the saints from all ages will reside forever. The New Jerusalem is a material city, not a mythical one. Its beauty is beyond comprehension. Will you be there? No sin can enter there. Every believer must remain faithful and steadfast in the Lord while the sinner must repent and be saved. The backslider must return to the Lord immediately. We must not miss the glories of the New Jerusalem. If you are truly born again, then hold fast to your faith in Christ until the end.

Thought For The Day: To miss heaven is to weep inconsolably for ever.

Seeds of Destiny 11 November 2018 Devotional: The Blessing – A Difference Maker

Topic: The Blessing – A Difference Maker [Seeds of Destiny 11 November 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake. Genesis 30:27

Thought For The Day: It is the Blessing that imparts resourcefulness, resultfulness and productivity in life.

The Blessing of God is a non-negotiable ingredient of destiny. The Blessing produces both the irrigation and fertilization of systems or organizations unto productivity. The truth is, when a blessed person enters a dry place, he would wet the place, but when a cursed person enters a wet place, he will dry up the place.

Jacob irrigated Laban’s house and Laban became prosperous overnight (Genesis 30:27, 30) by the power of the Blessing. Also, Joseph arrived Potiphar’s house and everything changed for good (Genesis 39:5) by the power of the Blessing.

By Divine privilege, I have stepped into the lives of individuals, families, and churches that were struggling and they blossomed and experienced drastic turnaround by the power of the Blessing.

So, the Blessing is very powerful; the Blessing is an irrigator of life and destiny.

It has been proven that everyone in this world carries a mantle: spiritual mantle, physical mantle, generational mantle. When you bring a person with a mantle of success over an establishment, the place succeeds but when you bring a person with a mantle of poverty, scarcity, or failure to head an organization, a local government, state or even a nation, the person dries up the place by the negative mantle he carries.

So, it is the Blessing that imparts resourcefulness, resultfulness and productivity in life.

I see a change of story in your family, business, resources, and destiny by the power of the Blessing, in Jesus’ Name. You are blessed!

Remember this: It is the Blessing that imparts resourcefulness, resultfulness and productivity in life.

Assignments:
1. Make demands on the Blessing of God for your life.
2. Determine to make a difference anywhere you find yourself by releasing your mentality, physical strength and resources for productivity.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE POWER OF THE BLESSING

Prayer: Father, I connect with the mantle of power, wealth, and prosperity. Help me, Lord to make undeniable impact in my generation, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Our Daily Bread 11 November 2018 Devotional – Confident Hope

Topic: Confident Hope [Our Daily Bread 11 November 2018 Devotional]

Read: Philippians 1:19–26, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 50; Hebrews 8

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

Dr. William Wallace was serving as a missionary surgeon in Wuzhou, China, in the 1940s when Japan attacked China. Wallace, who was in charge of Stout Memorial Hospital at the time, ordered the hospital to load his equipment on barges and continue to function as a hospital while floating up and down rivers to avoid infantry attacks.

During dangerous times, Philippians 1:21—one of Wallace’s favorite verses—reminded him that if he lived, he had work to do for the Savior; but if he died, he had the promise of eternity with Christ. The verse took on special meaning when he died while falsely imprisoned in 1951.

Paul’s writing reflects a deep devotion we can aspire to as followers of Jesus, enabling us to face trials and even danger for His sake. It is devotion enabled by the Holy Spirit and the prayers of those closest to us (v. 19). It’s also a promise. Even when we surrender ourselves to continued service under difficult circumstances, it is with this reminder: when our life and work end here, we still have the joy of eternity with Jesus ahead of us.

In our hardest moments, with hearts committed to walking with Christ now, and with our eyes firmly fixed on the promise of eternity with Him, may our days and our acts bless others with the love of God.

Prayer: Make of me, Father, a willing servant in times of weakness and times of strength.

Sacrifices offered to God are opportunities to showcase His love.

INSIGHT
When a believer dies, we often comfort the grieving with these words: “He/she is now home with the Lord.” Paul affirmed this same certainty when he boldly declared that when he dies he will “depart and be with Christ” (Philippians 1:23). Paul’s assurance is built upon the very words of our Lord Jesus. As Christ was dying on the cross for our sins, He promised the believing thief, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43).

What do we know about heaven? Paul saw it, but wasn’t permitted to say anything about it (2 Corinthians 12:3–4), and John saw it but only cryptically described it in Revelation 21–22. But when Jesus described it as “my Father’s home” (John 14:2 nlt), He spoke of the welcome, warmth, and intimacy we’ll find there with Him.

UK Cinema Chain Rejects Christian Movie About the Bible Comforting WWI Soldiers for Being Too Religious – Urban Christian News

A leading U.K. cinema chain has rejected a short Christian movie about the Bible comforting soldiers in World War I on the grounds that it’s too overtly religious.

The three-minute film by the Bible Society features achieved footage of World War I, along with everyday people reading from Revelation 21 as part of Remembrance Day services.

The video explains that all British soldiers in World War I were given a Bible as part of their kit.

The passage quoted reads:

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.”

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Explaining its decision to reject the short film, Empire Cinemas said that it cannot accept any overtly religious projects.

“Whilst we are sure the Bible Society is disappointed by our decision . . . it actually has less than 20 seconds of First World War footage, with the remainder being a recitation of scripture against a background of modern Britain. We stand by our decision not to screen -s from any religious groups,” a spokesperson for the company told The Times.

Open Heaven 11 November 2018 – What A Great Father He is!

Open Heaven 11 November 2018 Sunday Daily Devotional by Pastor E A Adeboye – What A Great Father He is!

Topic: What A Great Father He is! (Open Heaven 11 November 2018)

Memorise: “The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.”Psalm 146:9

Read: Psalm 68:4-10 (KJV)

4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

10 Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

Bible in One Year: Lamentations 1-2, Luke 20:1-26

Open Heaven 11 November 2018 Sunday MESSAGE:

The God that we serve is a Father who is always present and is ever ready to help. He is full of love, compassion and mercy for all of His children, and He gives each one of them uninterrupted attention. As the Almighty Father, He is capable of giving us everything that we can ever need. He knows His children even more than they even know themselves – He knows their tomorrow and every single detail about them even before they were born.

No matter how great and good an earthly father is, he will still fall short and fail in some aspects of his children’s wellbeing. An earthly father cannot boast of being with his children always. An earthly father cannot boast of knowing his children so well that he knows how to comfort them at all times. Even when he says he is capable of giving his children everything they ask for, he cannot give them good health, retentive memory, safe journey, and other things that money can’t buy. Our heavenly Father is the perfect Father to the fatherless, and He is a Father that other fathers run to in times of trouble. His love for His children immeasurably surpasses the love that an earthly father has for his children. Some people frown when they hear me call God my Daddy. Well, I don’t know about you, but this God is my Daddy. He has shown so much care to me ever since I met Him that I cannot but see Him as my Daddy. He understands me, comforts me, protects me, heals me, corrects me, helps me and carries me. If God has been all these to you, I want you to take a moment, look up to heaven and just say, “Daddy I love You.”

Have you been fatherless? Have you been lonely? Has your earthly father been distant and cold? Then you need to experience the loving kindness of Abba Father. To belong to Him, you need to be reborn by Him. His love is enough to wrap you in warmth for evermore. To enter into this special relationship with Him, confess these words:

Dear God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived. Lord, I want to start afresh; come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Make me a new creature in You. Thank You Abba Father for saving me.

After making these confessions in faith, you now need to find a Bible-believing church to attend so that you can build the relationship that has just begun between you and this Great Father.

Open Heaven 11 November 2018 Sunday Key Point:

God says to you today, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness” (Jeremiah 31:3).

Open Heaven 11 November 2018 Sunday Hymn 8: The Great Physician

1. The Great Physician now is near,
The sympathizing Jesus;
He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus!

Chorus:
Sweetest note in seraph song,
Sweetest Name on mortal tongue;
Sweetest carol ever sung,
Jesus, blessed Jesus.

2. Your many sins are all forgiv’n,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus;
Go on your way in peace to heav’n,
And wear a crown with Jesus.

3. All glory to the dying Lamb!
I now believe in Jesus;
I love the blessed Saviour’s Name,
I love the Name of Jesus.

4. His Name dispels my guilt and fear,
No other name but Jesus;
Oh, how my soul delights to hear
The precious Name of Jesus!

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 11 November 2018 – A Powerhouse of Protection

Topic: A Powerhouse of Protection [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 11 November 2018]

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. – Isaiah 54:17

No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Isn’t that great news! Isn’t it good to know that no sickness, no circumstance, no problem that rises against you can successfully bring you down?

Some years ago, one of our friends was facing a lawsuit. He and I prayed together according to this scripture and agreed it was the final word in the situation, not the allegations against him. We stood in faith, believing that lawsuit had to fail.

Sure enough, when my friend went to court, they just couldn’t beat him. He didn’t win that case because of his keen and witty lawyers. He won because he was innocent and because he had believed that powerful promise of God.

Follow his example. When the devil attacks you in some area of your life, don’t sit around crying and begging God to save you. Open up your Bible to Isaiah 54:17 instead. Remind yourself of what God has promised you. Use that promise to strengthen you against sin and every other evil work the devil would like to use to keep you bound.

Then establish yourself on it through prayer. Say, “Lord, I refuse to be afraid of this weapon the devil has brought against me because I know that according to Your Word, it cannot prosper. I trust You to protect me, and I thank You for it now. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

Don’t let the powerhouse of God’s protection go to waste. Put it to work in your life. It is your rightful heritage as a servant of the Lord.

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 54:10-17

Andrew Wommack Devotional 11 November 2018: Exercise Your Soul

Topic: Exercise Your Soul [Andrew Wommack Devotional 11 November 2018]

Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Our spirit is not our problem. The born-again Christian receives a new spirit at conversion, that is just like Jesus’ (1 Jn. 4:17) because it is the Spirit of Jesus. Our born-again spirit is always willing to do God’s will. It’s our flesh that is the problem.

The flesh, as Jesus describes it here, not only includes our physical body but also describes our soul. God has given every believer everything it takes to walk in victory, but “we have this treasure in earthen vessels” (2 Cor. 4:7). That is saying that our spirit, where God has deposited all of His power and glory, is locked inside our flesh.

That does not mean that we cannot tap into this divine source. As much as we will renew our minds and act on the Word of God, we can experience this divine flow through our physical bodies. However, just as we must use our muscles to increase in strength, we must exercise ourselves (soul, mind and body) unto godliness (1 Tim. 4:7-8).

Prayer is one important way of exercising ourselves unto godliness, and is why Jesus admonished His disciples to watch and pray with Him.

Billy Graham Devotional 11 November 2018 – A Creative God

Topic: A Creative God [Billy Graham Devotional 11 November 2018]

For we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. — Romans 8:26

John Knox, with an all-consuming soul-concern for his country, prayed, “Give me Scotland, or I die!” His earnest travail was rewarded with a spiritual rebirth in his land. This is what is termed “praying in the Spirit.” It is the manifestation of a deep spiritual concern for others, and it is instilled by the Spirit of God. This kind of prayer can leap over oceans, speed across burning deserts, spring over mountains, bound through jungles, and carry the healing, helping power of the Gospel to the object of prayer.

That “the Spirit Himself makes intercession” indicates that it is actually God pleading, praying, and mourning through us. Thus we become co-laborers with God, actual partners with Him; our lives are lifted from the low plane of selfishness to the high plane of creativeness with God. John Knox travailed, and the Church in Scotland broke into new life.

Prayer for the day: My heart’s cry is heard—thank You, Lord Jesus!
