The boat of my past that I needed to step out of was the childhood sexual abuse I suffered. I felt as though my dad stole my childhood, and I was so mistreated. I was bitter about the people who should have helped me and didn’t, and then there were the “could haves” and “would haves” and “wish I had.”

In my 30s, I was still taking it out on everybody who had anything to do with it. I didn’t trust men and had a chip on my shoulder. I was miserable, but I sat in the boat.

I remember how afraid I was when God told me that I was going to have to confront my dad about the sexual abuse of my childhood, because I was petrified of my father. The fear was rooted so deeply in me, even after I had been away from it for years. Whenever I would be around him or anyone who had a personality like his, I would feel the knot of fear come up in my gut.

Finally, God got in my face and said, “Look, you can be pitiful or you can be powerful.” Jesus was walking by my boat, and it was time to walk on water.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You that You won’t let me sink when I step out in obedience and deal with issues in my life. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TOPIC: The Bait of Love (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 10 October 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 13:15-19

MEMORY VERSE: “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” – 1 John 5:18

The MESSAGE:

King Jeroboam misbehaved at the altar and the Lord rebuked him through the young man of God. When Jeroboam stretched his hand towards the man of God, it dried up. I pray for you that any accusing finger that is pointing to you now physically or spiritually shall dry up, in the name of Jesus. The young man of God was warned not to eat nor drink in the course of his assignment, but the first enticement came his way when the king later invited him home to refresh, to drink and to be rewarded with half of the king’s kingdom. The young man of God was able to overcome the negative love shown by the king and rejected it. Later, there came another enticement through an old prophet in Bethel who heard all that God did through the young man of God. He asked for his way and quickly went after him. He met the young man sitting under an oak and asked him to come home with him to eat bread, and after a short deliberation, the young man was convinced and went with the old prophet. He later died mysteriously.

The king and the old prophet demonstrated a kind of love with the purpose of:

(i) Disobeying God
(ii) Annoying God
(iii) Making God angry
(iv) Rendering abuse to God
(v) Making God a liar and insulting God.

This is the bait of love. Every love that is being shown to you that at the end will make you do something contrary to God’s will is a bait. This is, love that intends to make God your enemy in order to end your life untimely and finally in the lake of fire. The bait of love’s agenda is to kill you; or destroy you. It aims to confuse you; it says beautiful things with the motive of destruction. The beginning is always sweet, but the end is always bitter. Their agents may sacrifice a lot of things to get what they want. On Valentine’s day, agents of the bait of love are released to entice young men and women with satanic gifts, money and etc in order to go against the will of God. Many end up with different kinds of sicknesses while many others end up in the hands of spiritualists and meet their untimely death. Arise today, reject evil counsel, reject evil enticement, balance every sweet talk with the word of God and pray against the agents of the bait of love. Pray against the spirit of error and the power of costly mistakes. Kissing is not love. Ask Judas Iscariot who used love signs (kiss) to betray Jesus to death.

BEING KISSED IS NOT NECESSARILY A SIGN THAT YOU’RE LOVED.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Agenda of the bait of love against your life shall backfire.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Father, I thank You because of Your genuine love towards me, in the name of Jesus.
2. Thou power of destruction pretending to be my lover and assigned to send me to hell, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
3. Power of evil enticement, loose your hold over my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Spirit of error and power of costly mistakes assigned against me today, die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Thou power of negative love and kiss of deceit assigned to destroy me, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Powers that want me to end my life in regrets, die, in the name of Jesus.
7. Spirits behind Valentine day, my life is not your candidate, die by fire, in Jesus’ name.
