The MESSAGE:

We have several reasons to be worried. Problems of life come to everyone of us in various forms and shapes. One may experience trouble, affliction and stress around him from unexpected quarters. But remember that the choice of being miserable, restless, confused and hopeless is entirely yours. The way we see difficulties will determine how we get out of them. The first place we lose or achieve victory is in our thinking. The Bible says, “Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God.” If you are controlled by the circumstances around you, then you will not be stable and consistent. You must learn to stay in peace. This can be achieved by talking to God, hoping and trusting His words, and depending on the efficacy of His power to change any situation around you. Staying in peace does not mean total absence of trouble but seeing God in the midst of these challenges. When we are calm, it allows God to work and rule over our situation. Decisions taken when worried cannot be dependable. Life itself can be very noisy, but we need to show the type of peace and tranquility that is found in Christ Jesus. The Scripture says, “Be still for I am the Lord.”

When the disciples of Jesus experienced a storm, they ran to Him and He said unto the storm, “Peace be still”. Automatically, the situation came under control. What is contending with your peace? Is it a bad relationship, financial embarrassment, barreness, sickness, frustrations of all sorts and many others? God is on top of the situation. Sometimes, we may not have control over how problems come into our lives, but we definitely have control over how we react to them. The Bible says, “Peace that passeth all understanding I give unto you.” Do not allow any situation, circumstance or person steal your peace. Be focused on God; He is still on the throne and He is a very present help in trouble. Meditate always upon His word that says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”, and He will manifest in your situation as the Prince of Peace.

Topic: Prayer Wrapped In Faith

Faith is a spiritual force that commits God’s integrity to make good His promise. It is your access to all your inheritance in Christ. It guarantees your access to every inheritance you have in Christ. Faith is the bridge that connects you to your destination. God has no problem confirming His word; He is only looking for who will trust Him.

The prayer wrapped faith is making decrees or requests to God based on His word with deep conviction and settled assurance.

James 5:13-15 – Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

The prayer that must produce result is the faith-based prayer. In the kingdom of God, it is not just prayer that makes things work; it is prayer wrapped in faith that produces results. Your prayer must be wrapped in faith for it to produce the desired result.

To pray a prayer of faith, you must first of all locate appropriate scriptures which are in line with your request. This is because God will not respond to any prayer which are not in line with His word. So, when you want to pray, you must locate a scripture or scriptures which are relevant to what you want to ask God for.

1 John 5:14 – And this is the confidence that we have in him that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Thus, you have to get God’s word and return it back to the Lord because God’s word is Himself. God will hear your prayers when you pray according to His word; not according to your grammar. For instance, if you are looking for a job, the first thing you have to do is to locate an appropriate scripture that has to do with miracle job like Isaiah 3:10:

Isaiah 3:10 -Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

It is not enough to locate a scripture. When you locate a scripture, meditate on it until faith rises in you. Meditation can be compared to incubation in agriculture. Meditate on the scripture until faith is built.

1Tim. 4:15 – Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Sit with the word of God until the rhema becomes very real to you. After meditation, the next step is to open your mouth in prayer because faith is not finished until it is spoken for God to confirm it.

2Cor. 4:13 – We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Speak and declare what you have seen in God’s word which you have also meditated on and God will not hesitate to confirm it. After speaking and declaring what you want to see, believe that it is done.

Mark 11:24 – Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you. {Amp}

If you want the prayer of faith to work, when you pray for anything, you don’t have to see it before you know that God has answered; you have to know that He has answered before you can see it. If you don’t have faith that God has answered, you cannot see it but the moment you have faith, then you will have what have prayed for.

Believe that you have received answers to your prayers before you see any physical manifestation. God has given us everything we need in Christ Jesus.

In prayer of faith, you don’t see it before you believe; you believe that what you have prayed for, God has answered and so, you are relaxed. From today, as you begin to practice the prayer of faith, may all that you request of the Lord in accordance to His word come to pass in your life speedily in the name of Jesus –Amen!!!

Horace Pitkin, the son of a wealthy merchant, was converted and went to China as a missionary. He wrote to his friends in America, saying, “It will be but a short time till we know definitely whether we can serve Him better above or here.” Shortly afterward, a mob stormed the gate of the compound where Pitkin defended the women and children. He was beheaded and his head was offered at the shrine of a heathen god, while his body was thrown into a pit with the bodies of nine Chinese Christians.

Sherwood Eddy, writing about him, said, “Pitkin won more men by his death than he ever could have won by his life.” Christ needs people today who are made of martyr stuff! Dare to take a strong, uncompromising stand for Him.

In this message, Billy Graham says the American church should prepare for persecution.

Prayer for the day: Thank You, Lord, for the examples of those who have gone before us. Help me to take hold of Your unlimited strength, too.

Topic: God’s Mercy Is A Gift [Andrew Wommack 29 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

Matthew 23:23 “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.“

One of the ways that God’s goodness is revealed is by His mercy. We may describe mercy as the readiness of God to relieve the misery of fallen creatures. Many times, mercy is called compassion or lovingkindness. It is expressed toward the sinner because of the misery that sin has brought upon him.

God’s mercy to the believer is revealed by God taking away the misery of sin’s consequences through the New Covenant of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Mercy is not something merited or earned, but a gift, as the apostle Paul states, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to HIS MERCY He saved us” (Ti. 3:5).

Paul speaks of the heavenly Father as “The Father of mercies.” The word father is used many times in scripture as an originator or as a source of something. For example, the devil is called the father of lies (Jn. 8:44), i.e. he is the author and originator of lying. Likewise, our heavenly Father is the author, originator, and source of all mercy. Each time that mankind cried out in faith, God’s mercy reached out and met their need.

God is said to be rich in mercy because of His great love wherewith he loved us (Eph. 2:4), and to have a throne called grace whereby we may come and obtain mercy. God wasn’t motivated to save us through pity or a sense of obligation as our Creator. He was motivated solely by love. God loves us.

Be it according to thy word. – Exodus 8:10

I used to worry about making decisions for God. I used to be afraid to step out on faith and declare I was going to do something new that He’d shown me to do. I’d think, What if I fail? I was so scared of failing, I’d muddle around in indecision for weeks. Then one day I found out it wasn’t my power that was going to carry it out anyway. But it took my decision to move God in on the scene. Once I decided what I was going to do, and committed myself totally to it, God backed me!

What I learned is a truth from the Word of God that, if you’ll pay attention to it, will revolutionize your life. It’s truth that carries an awesome responsibility with it, but it’s a fabulous thing to realize.

Here it is: The right, the privilege and the power to decide has been left by God in the hands of men.

You have the right, for example, to decide where you’re going to spend eternity. You have a right to make that decision, and God will back your decision.

God can do everything for you but decide. He’s provided the power. He’s provided His Name. He’s provided the blood of Jesus. He’s provided the kingdom of God. He’s even made us partakers of it (Colossians 1:12).

But He’s not going to stuff that inheritance down our throats. Somewhere down the line we each have to make the decision to receive it.

Now the beautiful part is this: When you make that decision, God will back you to the hilt with His power. Once you make a decision to be born again, there’s no devil in hell big enough to stop you. All you have to do is decide.

Decide now. Declare your decision. Let it be done unto you according to your words.

Is God leading you in some new direction? Is He leading you to step out in faith for healing or prosperity or to take a whole new step of ministry? Don’t let fear hold you back.
