ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): ISAIAH 33:15-16
MESSAGE TOPIC: THE PROFIT OF UPRIGHTNESS

SERVICE OBJECTIVE: Understanding the profit of uprightness

Uprightness is profitable because God has never called anybody to seek Him in vain (Isa. 45:19)
It is clear in Scripture that God is not a User or Waster of people, He is a Raiser of people
We have seen in Scripture that God is a Rewarder of the diligent seeker (Heb. 11:6; Job 1:1,3)
Serving God is profitable on earth and in Heaven (1Tim. 4:8)

PROFITS OF UPRIGHTNESS:
1. Divine Presence (Isa. 33:14-16; Ps. 24:3-6; 15:1-5)
God is attracted to the devoted
1a. Uprightness of life, like the lifestyle of worship, grants access to the Presence of God
1b. Uprightness of life lifts people from the low places of the earth to the high places where God dwells
1c. Uprightness of life provokes the pleasure and companionship of God (Amos 3:3; Matt. 3:17; Luke 3:22)

2. Answered prayer (Ps. 66:18; Isa. 59:1-2)
2a. Uprightness of life grants people access to the Presence of God (Ps. 24:3-5)
2b. Uprightness of life grants people boldness and faith to approach God in prayer (Prov. 28:1)
2c. Uprightness of life grants audience with God (Isa. 59:1-2)

3. Divine Preservation (Isa. 33:16; Job 1:1,10)
The upright is not wastable by witches, occultic powers or agents of wickedness (Job 1:10)
3a. Uprightness ushers the upright unto existence in the realm that is beyond the reach of harm (Isa. 33:16)
3b. Uprightness establishes the hedge of Divine protection around the upright (Job 1:10)
3c. Uprightness eliminates timidity and the elimination of fear and timidity is the elimination of calamity (Prov. 28:1; Job 3:25)
Where fear dies, calamity perishes; the possession of audacity is the deletion of calamity

4. Divine Provision (Isa. 33:16; Ps. 37:25-26, 112:1-4, 45:7-9,12; Dan. 1:8-9)
4a. There is a Divine budgetary allocation for the upright with God
4b. The budgetary allocation for the righteous is guaranteed by
the covenant practice of giving and receiving (Ps. 37:25-26)
4c. The righteous possesses a heritage of favour with God (Ps. 5:12)

5. Divine direction (Prov. 11:3; Ps. 37:23, 32:1-2,5,8)
5a. Uprightness and integrity of life provokes the involvement of God in the actions and steps of life
5b. Uprightness and integrity of life attracts the Presence of God and the Presence of God directs your life(Ps. 24:3-4; Exo. 13:21-22)
5c. Uprightness and integrity are spiritual principles with in-built capacity to guide life’s actions and steps (Prov. 11:3,5)

6. Eternity with God (Heb. 12:14; Dan. 12:2-3; Rev. 21:27)
6a. Integrity and upright living establishes the upright in God’s Presence on the earth
6b. Upright living qualifies the upright for God’s Presence in eternity
6c. Upright living destroys the claim of the enemy on the life of the upright (John 14:30)

COUNSEL:
1. Never allow your heart to envy sinners and Godless people; remain in the fear of God (Prov. 23:17-18)
It is better to be slow and sure than to be fast and die or fail!

2. Never be weary of doing the right thing, due season always arrives for the diligent seeker of God (Gal. 6:9; Heb. 11:6)

3. Keep seeking God for how to worship and serve Him better (Phil. 3:12-14)

PRAYER:
Father, I refuse to be tired, I will serve You and continue to serve You. Show me Lord better ways to serve You. Show me what to do Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

IMPARTATION FOCUS (PSALM 45:7-9,12):
Impartation for open doors

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
– Every smell of reproach disfavour and rejection shall be replaced by the small of favour and acceptance
– Principal people, royalties shall begin to look for you and what you represent!
– There is the termination of generational and ancestral curses
– Everything calling you back to the village, to your history and background is broken right now!
– I decree the end of mockery, shame and reproach!
– I prophesy upon you, everyone who has been living straight for God whose rewards have been delayed, from this service, your delayed rewards have been released!
– The spell of barrenness is over forever! Every womb closed is opened NOW!
– Receive the grace to love righteousness and hate wickedness!
– The Oil of gladness above your contemporaries is released upon you now!
– I prophesy celebration and gladness!
– From today, the fragrance of favour shall be your portion!
– Every arrow fired into your life is returned back to sender!
– Every spirit of rejection and disfavour is broken from off your life and Divine favour is released to you in Jesus’ Name!
– Every marital embargo is lifted right now in Jesus’ Name!
– Whatever the devil closed in your life is opened in Jesus’ Name!

Attaining Intimacy in Marriage By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Attaining Intimacy in Marriage (Part 2)

You are blessed in Jesus’ name! Last week, I shared with you about the need for intimacy in marital relationships. This week, I want to show you some of the characteristics of intimacy. Intimacy is an important part of a vibrant, loving marriage. Couples can work together to increase their intimacy in each area, as they build their marriage through the years. Relationships with healthy intimacy have several factors in common; including the following:

Mutual trust

This establishes a sense of security for both spouses. You can show it by having no desire to injure your spouse in any way. Though you might unintentionally cause hurt, you won’t hurt one another on purpose. In practical sense, trust means that you place confidence in someone not abandon you but be honest with and faithful to you. Trust is not a gift. It is a virtue built through experience and over a period of time. Trust is reciprocal. The more you express your trust in your spouse, the more he/she responds to you. By this, you are creating an avenue for intimacy to grow.

Tenderness

This includes gentle expressions of caring. Through touch, you can express your love to your partner. This affectionate contact “is absolutely essential in building the emotion of love”

Acceptance

No one is perfect. Thus, it is an unconditional approval in a relationship. Acceptance means not capitalising on your spouse’s weaknesses. If you are used to frequently pointing out your spouse’s faults, work on focusing instead on the qualities you fell in love with.

Open communication

This is the ability to discuss anything with your spouse. It includes sincere expression of thoughts and feelings, as well as careful listening. Signs of poor communication include feeling reluctant to tell your spouse about the events of your day or being unwilling to listen when your spouse is explaining how he or she feels.

Caring

This is a genuine concern for your spouse’s well-being. If you do things you know that hurt your spouse, you cannot have healthy intimacy. You can develop a more caring heart and mind by learning to think of your spouse’s feelings before your own. Always ask yourself before acting or speaking, “If I do this or say this, will I hurt my spouse?”

Apologies

These are the remedies for mistakes that spouses inevitably make. Recognizing mistakes, taking responsibility for them, expressing remorse for any hurt caused, and making a commitment to change the hurtful behaviour are all essential to mending the relationship after a mistake. For spouses, who have created a chasm of hurts that separate them, offering a sincere and humble apology is the first step in building a bridge over that chasm. Even if you believe that your partner made the mistake, you can begin the healing by finding something you did that calls for an apology.

Forgiveness

This is the process of letting go of anger, desire for revenge, and obsessive thinking about times your spouse has hurt you. It includes giving your spouse permission to have weaknesses, make mistakes, and change. Seeing the goodness and strengths of your spouse along with the weaknesses can open up emotional space for good will to build toward your spouse. Forgiveness does not automatically create trust or reconciliation; it does not mean your approval of bad behaviour. But it is an important early step towards rebuilding a fractured relationship.

The grace to give it all it takes to build up intimacy in your marriage can only be given to you by God. If you are not born again you don’t have what it takes to have this grace. If you are already born again, rejoice because your case is settled. If you are not yet born again and you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

Topic: Rest On The Grace Of God [TREM 19 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”. Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

Today, I want to ask you a very important question. Where are you resting? Are you resting in what the newspapers say or what your tradition says? Or what one lying prophet told you? Or are you resting on the infallible word of God which gives assurance and stability?

Let’s consider the story of Samson as documented in the book of Judges chapter 16. When the Philistines shaved his hairs, they removed the seven locks. Seven means Sabbath, which is rest. When he was resting with his locks on his hair, the Philistines could not get him. The moment they shaved his hair, they took away his source of strength. Then, were they able to remove his eyes, tie him, arrest, imprison and humiliate him.

The church has been humiliated over the years because we have refused to rest. We are living as if Christ did not die, and this baffles me. Beloved He died, He was buried and He rose triumphant over death, hell and grave. Now, you have been quickened, raised and made to sit with him. We are called to sit, not to struggle. He raised you up to show you what He has completed before you came on the scene. He has completed the job, the business, the finance, your Christian life, ministry, family, marriage, and the babies. Our Christian life begins from the point of “It is finished”. That’s why Paul could say; “Now thanks be unto God who always causes us to triumph in Christ…” (2 Cor. 2:14). That means, before the battle even started, the victory is already yours.

When they shaved his hair, Samson got up and realized that he was without strength. He soon realized his eyes were gone, his freedom was gone. That’s what happens when you walk in the law. You lose your freedom. You then discover that you are constantly under condemnation, accusation and judgment, when the alternative is to walk in the liberty wherewith Christ has set you free. Child of God, the law cannot give you rest. Rest only comes from your knowledge of the finished work of Christ. Choose to rest.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecclesiastes 3:11

Yesterday I purchased an airline ticket to send my firstborn child to college. I’m surprised the keyboard on my computer still functions, given the waterworks my eyes unleashed on it during the flight selection process. I have so enjoyed my eighteen years of daily life with her that I am saddened by the prospect of her departure. Yet I wouldn’t rob her of the opportunity that lies ahead simply because I’ll miss her. At this juncture in her life, it is fitting for her to embark on a new journey to discover adulthood and explore another part of the country.

As this season of my parenting draws to a close, another one begins. It will undoubtedly bring both new challenges and new delights. Solomon, Israel’s third king, wrote that God appoints “a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). We humans have little control over the events of our lives—whether we view those events as favorable or not. But God, in His mighty power, makes “everything beautiful in its time” (v. 11).

In seasons of heartache, we can trust God to bring something good from them in time. Our comforts and joys may come and go, but God’s works “will endure forever” (v. 14). We may not relish every season—some are quite painful—yet He can bring beauty to them all.

Prayer: Father, You have permitted this season in my life. Help me to be content in the midst of it, and to recognize Your power and might are at work.

God brings beauty from all seasons.

Topic: A Word About Angels [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 19 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. – Psalm 91:11

It’s time to set the record straight. Angels are not kid stuff. They’re not little fat babies with long blonde hair and bows and arrows in their hands. Angels are big, strong warriors. They are real. They are powerful. And if you are a believer, they are a vital part of your life.

We see examples of what angels can do all through the Bible. For instance, when the children of Israel were fleeing from Egypt with Pharaoh’s army hot on their heels, the Bible tells us that suddenly the wheels on the Egyptians’ chariots got fouled up. They just quit rolling!

Who do you think caused that? The angels, of course!

They haven’t retired since then either. Angels are at work today just as they’ve always been.

A few years ago in one of Israel’s major wars, the enemy had their guns trained on Israeli cities. Those guns were the finest military equipment money could buy. They had a range of at least 20 miles and were equipped with electronic gun sights for accuracy.

But something very odd happened. Every time they fired those guns at the Israelis, they either overshot or fell far short of their targets. We know there was nothing wrong with the guns because later the Israelis captured them and fired them back at the enemy with perfect success.

What happened? Angels, that’s what!

My friend, that isn’t just a fairy tale. That’s a real-life example of the involvement of angels in the lives of God’s people today. And, if you’re a child of God, you have a right to expect God’s angels to do the same kind of things for you.

So, start expecting! Say, “Thank You, heavenly Father, for giving Your angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways.” Once you’ve spoken that word of faith, stand fast. Don’t fear. Don’t waver. Just be patient and keep believing, and you will surely see the salvation of the Lord.

Key Verse: “Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest“ (Isaiah 32:15).

MESSAGE:

God has always expressed great displeasure towards any society that allows vices such as corruption, profanity, violence and injustice to characterise its system. Such society has often been visited with divine judgment.

In Israel, at this time, particularly in Judah, the sin of idolatry appeared good to all. The people turned their backs on God and concentrated on pleasures; they no longer looked unto the holy One of Israel, neither did they seek the Lord. Instead they went down to Egypt for help (Isaiah 31:1). Judah was soon to be destroyed and taken into captivity. In the light of this, God, in His infinite mercy, sounded an alarm to the careless women who remained at ease. The requirement for their deliverance and fruitfulness was to tremble and cry out to God in humility until He poured out His Spirit of righteousness upon the land.

Human depravity such as moral decadence, corruption, political dysfunctions, cultism, social vices, love for self more than God and so on are the fruit of ungodliness with which Satan destroys societies today.

For our land to experience true fruitfulness (spiritually and physically), believers must not fold their hands and stay aloof. We must rise up as individuals, families and congregations in humility and passionately, persistently seek the Lord in prayers so that His Spirit can reign in the affairs of our land. Then shall our dry and barren land become a fruitful field.

Thought For The Day: A land devoid of God’s presence is full of darkness and disaster.
