Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 1 August 2018 Daily Devotional – Receive Your Miracle

Topic: Receive Your Miracle [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 1st August 2018 Daily Devotional]

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.Romans 10:10

Do you need a miracle? Then believe it, confess it and receive it!

“Oh Gloria, I just don’t know if I can do that.”

Yes, you can! You’ve already done it once. When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you believed, confessed and received the greatest miracle in the universe, the miracle of a reborn spirit! Every other miracle you receive will come in exactly the same way.

You start by simply believing what God’s Word says concerning your area of need, by letting that Word change your heart and mind.

A lot of people try to skip that step. They try to believe for a miracle without spending enough time in the Word to change their hearts and minds. They just want to confess it with their mouths and have it instantly appear. But that won’t happen. It’s what we believe in our hearts and say with our mouths that we receive.

If you don’t have enough faith yet to believe for the miracle you need, then you can get it. “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). So start filling the ears of your heart with the Word until faith for your miracle is born.

That’s what the woman did who had the issue of blood. She believed in her heart that Jesus would heal her. Then she spoke her faith out loud. Then she acted on that faith–and she received her miracle.

It wasn’t Jesus’ decision. He didn’t suddenly say, “You know, I think I’ll work a miracle for that little lady today.” No. She made it happen. She took her faith and drew on the power of God. That’s why Jesus said, “Daughter, your faith has made you whole” (Matthew 9:22).

You have that same opportunity. God’s power is always present everywhere. Your faith will bring it into your life, body or circumstances. So reach out to Jesus. Believe, confess and receive your miracle today.

DCLM Daily Manna 1 August 2018 Daily Devotional – Gold Not Brass

Topic: Gold Not Brass [DCLM Daily Manna 1st August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Text: 1 Kings 14:21-31 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king’s house (1 Kings 14:27).

MESSAGE:

Every well-meaning parent pray for their children to conquer more grounds than they did. When the children fail to measure up, it brings shame and disappointments to the parents, especially if it attracts public attention.

The case of Rehoboam is one of the most pathetic cases of wasted heritage recorded in the Bible. As a successor to King Solomon, Rehoboam had the best opportunities in life. He had the godly King David as grandfather and Solomon (the wisest and richest man) as father. Sadly, his seventeen year reign as king recorded unimaginable decline. Judah descended into gross idolatry and moral decay.

Sin weakens, estranges one from God and renders one vulnerable to attack, just as Rehoboam yielded when Shishak, king of Egypt, attacked Jerusalem. Shishak carted away the treasures of the temple and of the king’s house, including the shields of gold that Solomon made. To replace the looted golden shields, Rehoboam made shields of brass – pitiable counterfeit!

It is heart-rending to see many privileged people wasting irreplaceable and precious heritage which others had laboured to build. This reality is more pathetic in the case of spiritual heritage. Many Christians have surrendered the golden shields of the “faith of our fathers” and have shamefully made for themselves shields of brass. It often starts by gradual compromise that morphs into outright backsliding. Are you privileged to have rich godly heritage? What have you made of it? Learn from Rehoboam’s case and avoid descending from gold to brass.

Thought For The Day: We lose all if we fail to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints”.

Seeds of Destiny 1 August 2018 Daily Devotional

Topic: The Discovery Of Purpose – The Most Important Discovery In Life [Seeds of Destiny 1 August 2018 Daily Devotional]

Scripture: And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. Acts 9:6

Thought For The Day: When purpose is not known, time becomes a burden.

Life remains a loss-bound gamble until purpose is discovered. That is why a major reason why people leave their lives to chance is because they do not know what life is all about. They do not know the purpose of their lives. What you know is what you can show. Due to this ignorance of what life is all about, people live carelessly and allow their lives to be wasted by the devil, sin and the system of the world. What a waste!

Therefore, it is important to know the most important discovery in life in order to maximise our lives.

Now, what is the most important discovery in life?
The most important discovery in life is the Discovery of Purpose!

God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo once said, ‘Life without a bearing is a burden.’ Life without purpose is pointless. The purpose of life is the life of purpose. So, no one is qualified to live if they are not aware of why they are alive.

One of the most desperate prayers you should pray in life is, Lord, show me why I’m here on earth. What do you want to do with my life? Where should I channel or invest the energies of my life? The difference between people of impact and those without impact is the sense of purpose. So, the discovery of purpose is one of the most important discoveries in life.

When purpose is not known, time becomes a burden; a person would have time but would not know what to do with it. When purpose is not known, regrets are inevitable.

My counsel is, passionately pursue the discovery of God’s purpose for your life by asking God desperately at the place of prayer.

Remember this: When purpose is not known, time becomes a burden.

Assignments:
1. Desperately ask God to reveal to you your purpose for living.
2. Channel the energies of your life to the fulfilment of your purpose.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask that You reveal to me Your purpose for creating me. Give me the grace to pursue and fulfil Your purpose for my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 1 August 2018 – Kings of the King

Topic: Kings of the King [Open Heavens 1 August 2018 Wednesday Daily Devotional]

Memorise: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”- 1 Peter 2:9

Read: Daniel 4:28-37 (KJV)

28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.

34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Bible in One Year: Esther 4-7, Matthew 12:9-32

Open Heavens 1 August 2018 MESSAGE:

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” – Matthew 12:36

It is unfortunate that King Nebuchadnezzar did not know the above scripture; perhaps he would have been spared the agony of experiencing God’s humbling judgment for seven years. While he strolled in his palace on a day like any other, he flippantly attributed his conquests and successes to his ability, forgetting that there are kings and there is the King of Kings. He did not consider the benevolence of God Almighty in his rise to greatness, and this attitude sent him to God’s school of humility. May you never have to learn humility by passing through this school in Jesus’ Name. As children of God who have been made kings unto God, there are many lessons we should learn from King Nebuchadnezzar. As revealed in today’s memory verse, the reason for our divine election as kings is to show forth the praise of the Almighty Abba Father, who has called us out of darkness into the marvelous light of His Son, Jesus (Revelation 1:6). We have indeed been made joint-heirs of the throne of our Lord and Savior (Revelation 3:21, Ephesians 2:6). Based on Nebuchadnezzar’s experience, it will be dangerous for us to forget that we are who we are only because of God’s grace. The Holy Spirit reminds us of this in 1 Corinthians 4:7, says:

“For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?”

Children of God should be conscious of the fact that we were not redeemed to boast or to please ourselves. Revelations 4:10 reveals that the elders in heaven lay their crowns at God’s feet in worship and adoration; this is exactly what the kings expects from us also. The question is, how seriously do you take the Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life? Christians who live in lawlessness due to unlimited liberty are saying that they have no King above them. Therefore beloved, examine yourself today to see whether you have taken control of your life away from the King of Kings. If you have, quickly return the authority over your life back to Him. Furthermore, do not forget that your crown as a king under the King is called the crown of righteousness; therefore, walk and reign on His behalf in perfection (2 Timothy 4:8).

Action Point: Confess to the Lord your submission and loyalty to His Lordship over your life.

1. I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

2. I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

Bethel Church Responds to Criticism, Explains Why It Did Not Serve as Fire Evacuation Site

(Screenshot: Youtube.com)The exterior of Bethel Church in Redding, California.

Leaders of an influential Redding, California, church is responding to criticism that they did not open their building as an evacuation site as a massive wildfire forced tens of thousands of city residents to flee their homes.

Bethel Church, a charismatic congregation with Assemblies of God roots and which has several thousand members, explained Monday that when the Carr fire grew worse — a blaze which has torn through Shasta County and into parts of Redding proper since it began last week — they offered their building to be a site for evacuees, but authorities turned them down.

As the flames grew, tens of thousands of Redding residents were forced to leave their homes and several churches opened their doors to shelter them, but Bethel was not among them. A flurry of irked social media postings criticizing the church ensued.

Yet Bethel’s local church operations director, Lauren Vallotton, said that the church building was not considered a safe place for large crowds, explaining in an interview with the local ABC affiliate on Sunday that the church only has one road in an out of its premises.

“I think that what happens, those nights when the evacuations started happening so quickly,…

Christian Camps Get Creative to Attract Youth in a Tech-Distracted Age

Christian Camps Get Creative to Attract Youth in a Tech-Distracted Age

Nearly half of the estimated 14 million American youth going to camp this summer will be attending Christian camps to escape from home, play games with new friends, unplug from technology and seek God in nature.

Fun and faith formation remain the foundation of Christian camping. But kids now enjoy a greater range of activities, including motocross, robotics and theater. At least one camp hosts a weeklong session for kids undergoing gender transitions.

“Christian camping gives kids the opportunity to get away, clear their heads, unplug from tech and hear a message of God’s love for them,” said Gregg Hunter, president and CEO of the Christian Camp and Conference Association, based in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Christian youth worker calls on Love Island to be more inclusive

Her comments follow a new ComRes survey that found more than half of 18 to 34-year-olds feel that reality TV and social media have a negative effect on how they see their bodies.

Jessie Smart, from the Christian Ministry Belle told Premier shows like Love Island can make young people have unrealistic ideas of the way their bodies are supposed to be.

Speaking during Premier News Hour, she said: “We all know they’re all a similar kind of look of people. They fulfil what society considers as attractive.

“And actually what we need to do is start to widen that and show people who are representative of real life.”

She said while she missed the final, both her and her husband had watched previous episodes.

Explaining why, she said: “I’m a youth pastor, he’s a kid’s pastor and obviously I do a lot of work with girls on body image… just knowing the sort of influence that it has on the way we view our bodies, I wanted to be a part of that conversation.

“And I actually wanted to be able to chat with the young people in my youth group about what they thought about it and whether they were watching it and be able to have all of these conversations and be able to give a different voice among them.”

An average of 3.6 million people tuned in on Monday night to watch the winners crowned – breaking audience records for ITV2.

The head of NHS England raised concerns about seeing…

Judge: Christian Parents Who Don’t Like New Transgender Policy Can Pull Their Children From School

Judge: Christian Parents Who Don’t Like New Transgender Policy Can Pull Their Children From School

A U.S. federal judge ruled last week that students have the right to use the restrooms, locker rooms and showers of those of the opposite gender in a public school, and that parents who don’t like the policy can pull their children out of school.

The case in Oregon arose when Dallas High School in Dallas, Ore., adopted a new policy allowing transgender students to use gender-specific facilities that correspond with their self-identified gender and not their birth gender. A group of parents then sued, saying their beliefs and Christian faith prevent their children from using the restroom and undressing in the presence of the opposite sex.

But in his ruling, U.S. District Judge Marco Hernandez – a nominee of President Obama — said the transgender students have the right to use gender-specific facilities. The school has a female student who identifies as a boy and wishes to use male restrooms, dressing rooms and showers.

“Forcing transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity would undoubtedly harm those students and prevent them from equally accessing educational opportunities and resources,” Hernandez wrote. “Such an injunction or District policy would punish transgender students for their gender nonconformity and constitute a form of sex-stereotyping.”

If the parents don’t like they new…

Lee Strobel Talks Reaching Nonbelievers for Jesus, Praying for His Atheist Brother for 17 Years

(Screenshot: Vimeo/Toby Canning)Lee Strobel in a Vimeo video talking about Easter, uploaded in March 2018.

Looking back at those who have undergone major transformations as they became followers of Jesus Christ, Lee Strobel, author of The Case for Christ, stressed the need for evangelism. He also revealed that he continues praying for his atheist brother to this day.

Strobel, once an atheist journalist intent on disproving God who later found Christ, talked in-depth about the importance of evangelism with Roger Marsh of the Family Talk program, which is produced by the James Dobson Family Institute.

Strobel, who became a pastor and has been writing books looking to point others to the faith, began his two-part discussion on Monday by explaining that the “overriding passion” of his life is “to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people who don’t know Him.”

“I’m an evangelist at the depth of my heart, and I see evangelism not as just something that people gifted in evangelism do, but something we’re all called upon to do. We’re all called upon to share our faith,” he stressed.

“What I’ve found is if four things are true of you, if you are motivated to share your faith because of the love of Jesus Christ in you, if you are available to share your faith, if you make…
