Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 30 July 2018 Daily Devotional – You Don’t Have to Fall

Topic: You Don’t Have to Fall [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 30th July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall. – 2 Peter 1:10

You shall never fall. When you think about it, that’s a startling statement, isn’t it? Most of us have been tripped up by the devil so many times we don’t like to think about it.

But the Word of God says it doesn’t have to be that way. He says there’s something that can keep us on our feet. What is it? Diligence.

If you haven’t already, you need to realize how important diligence is. You need to face the fact that you simply can’t live a life of victory without it.

You can’t stand strong on the Word of God and not pick your Bible up during the week. Sunday morning alone isn’t going to get the job done. Yet most believers try to get by on that. That’s precisely why we have thousands of churches all over the world filled with born-again people who don’t have enough faith to blow their hats off. No diligence.

I remember several years ago when I ministered to a lady who was healed of cancer. She’d gotten into the Word, taken a stand of faith, and had been delivered. But several years later she called me and said, “Brother Copeland, I wish you’d pray for me. This cancer has come back on me again.”

Right away I recalled the scripture the Lord had given us to stand on those years before: “No weapon that is formed against [you] shall prosper.” So I said, “Get your Bible and let’s go back to Isaiah 54:17.”

In the background I could hear her whispering to someone else in the room, “Where’s my Bible?” When I heard that, I almost cried out. I knew she wasn’t going to make it. Why? No diligence.

Listen, this is a daily thing. The devil’s out there 24 hours a day devising ways to make us fall. Jesus is on the throne 24 hours a day giving us power to resist him, and we need to be exercising our faith all the time.

If you’re going to stand in the days ahead, you’re going to need a lot more than Sunday school faith. You’re going to need some full-grown, mountain-moving faith, and there’s only one way to get that: By giving yourself to the Word more diligently than you ever have before.

So do it. Give diligence to make your calling and election sure; and no matter how slippery the situation gets, you won’t have to fall!

Seeds of Destiny 30 July 2018 Daily Devotional – The Importance Of Living As A Generational Problem Solver

Topic: The Importance Of Living As A Generational Problem Solver [Seeds of Destiny 30 July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Scripture: For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: Acts 13:36

Thought For The Day: The voice of impact makes you live beyond your time.

God wants to take you from the realm of impacting just a person to the realm of impacting families, communities, states and nations; that is living as a generational problem solver. It is living to be an asset, blessing, answer, and illumination, not just to the people around you but to communities, states and nations. This is what living as a generational problem solver means.

Now, what is the implication of this kind of lifestyle to your health and vitality?
1. Living beyond yourself is living beyond your time
When Dorcas, for example, died, the widows showed Peter the proofs of the impacts she made on their lives, then Peter prayed and she came back to life (Acts 9:36-39). Impact has a voice. The voice of impact makes you live beyond your time. The good deed you do today speaks for you tomorrow in times of need.

2. Generational Impact provokes generational goodwill which results in personal welfare
One day, Jesus Christ was preaching and a woman stood in the crowd and said, ‘Blessed be the breast that gave this man suck. She seemed to have said, ‘I am the reason your mother gave birth to you. Thank God for the breasts that breastfed you.’ (Luke 11:27 paraphrased).

Beloved, God will bring you to the point where generations will thank God because of you. And when people who are praying for you are many, the prayer you are to pray for yourself will reduce. Your prayer and wish now is how God will help others.

Remember this: The voice of impact makes you live beyond your time.

Assignments:
1. Decide to live beyond your time by impact.
2. Pray for God to use you for the deliverance and salvation of families, communities, states and nations.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to impact people in greater dimensions. Help me to pray for and be instrumental to the deliverance and salvation of families, communities, states and nations, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 30 July 2018 Daily Devotional – His Balanced Perspective

Topic: His Balanced Perspective [DCLM Daily Manna 30th July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Text: Deuteronomy 32:44-52 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel” (Deuteronomy 32:52).

MESSAGE:

A robber’s dying testimony is most telling. He had been involved in an armed robbery and was condemned to face the firing squad. During the intervening period before the execution, he surrendered his life to Jesus. Though he wasn’t pardoned, he accepted his fate with dignified calmness, convinced that he was on his way to heaven. Many times, the consequences of sin play themselves out.

Moses was an exemplary leader whose persona towered above the credentials of many. His obedience to God was legendary. His knack for details was unequalled. He spoke mouth to mouth with God and received rare glimpses of His glory. Yet, he was denied the ultimate glory of entering Canaan, just because of an unintentional refusal to sanctify the Lord before the people. Not even his repeated entreaties and heart-rending repentance could make God alter His judgment.

To whom much is given, so much is required by the Lord. As a believer progresses on the spiritual ladder, there is need for watchfulness and absolute holiness of heart. From biblical and contemporary examples, it is evident that only those with fierce comportment to obey the Lord all the way will eventually enter into His glorious rest.

As a believer, are you trifling with lying, gossip, stealing, immorality, fraud, deceit, worldly associations, etc., thinking that God will overlook them or that there is ample time to repent? Remember that the consequences of every sin committed will always follow. Pray for grace to live a flawless life to be spared of the awful repercussions of sin.

Thought For The Day: Sin forgiven, yet carries along its consequences.

Open Heavens 30 July 2018 – These He Did For You

Topic: These He Did For You [Open Heavens 30 July 2018 Monday Daily Devotional]

Memorise: “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”- Philippians 2:8

Read: Luke 22:41-44 (KJV)

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Bible in One Year: Nehemiah 12-13, Matthew 10:40-11:19

Open Heavens 30 July 2018 MESSAGE:

Obedience is the willingness to submit oneself to the will of God and to live by His will. The Bible emphasizes the importance of obeying God’s commandments, gives reasons why obedience is necessary and states the rewards promised to obedient people. The Bible also presents Jesus Christ, the Messiah, as the perfect example of obedience and directs us to fellow in His footsteps. Jesus Himself made several statements admonishes, encourage and even command us to follow and learn from Him. In John 10:27, He said:

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”

The call to imitate Jesus in thought, speech and action is repeated in several places in the Bible, but in Philippians 2:5, the Holy Spirit took it a step higher, saying to us:

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

What mind is He talking about here? He is referring to the loving, merciful, self-abasing, self-sacrificing mind which was in Jesus Christ. Although Jesus was the anointed Son of God, He made himself of no reputation. Our Lord did not think of Himself, neither did He serve His own interests. He came not to be ministered to, but rather to minister and give His life as a ransom for many. To carry out His assignment here on earth, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death. These descriptions of His sacrifice sum up the nature of mind the Holy Spirit is referring to.

Obedience to the will of God demonstrates the reality of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ (John 14:15). Christ’s humility created the grounds for our total commitment and submission to the will of God. It also earned Him the title of “Author of Eternal Salvation” (Hebrews 5:9). Oh, how great His love for us is! Because of His great love for us and His determination to save us from the wrath of God, He became obedient unto death – even the death of the cross. God’s own dear Son came in the form of a man to fulfil all the requirements of God’s law for the sake of His people. Having fulfilled all righteousness, He submitted Himself to a shameful and excruciating death on the cross of Calvary. Since Christ’s love for us is so evident, the least we can do for His sake is to love one another as He loved us (1 John 4:9-11). This is the essence of Christianity: to develop a good appreciation of what Jesus did for us and to follow in His steps to the benefit of humanity and the glory of God.

Prayer Point: Father, Please grant me a heart of total submission and obedience to You, in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 30 July 2018 Hymn 4: Trust and Obey

1. When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss,
Not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove
The delights of His love
Until all on the alter we lay;
For the favor He shows,
For the joy He bestows,
Are from them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Parental Rights and International Religious Freedom Intertwined, Advocates Say

(Photo: The Christian Post)Michael Farris, president of the Alliance Defending Freedom (left) and Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, present on parental rights and religious freedom at the Museum of the Bible on July 26, 2018.

WASHINGTON — Parental rights are increasingly intersecting with religious freedom, particularly the right to direct the education of ones children, defenders of religious freedom say, as the U.S. government emphasized international religious freedom last week.

Assembled at the Museum of the Bible Thursday, several religious freedom and longtime family advocates spoke of the growing hostility around the world toward religious families in a panel sponsored by the James Dobson Family Institute. The panel took place as the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom was happening concurrently across town at the State Department.

Michael Farris, president of Alliance Defending Freedom, speaking on behalf of the group’s international branch, noted that parental rights are violated whenever governments go beyond listing the required subject matters to demand the teaching of state curriculum.

“Moreover, if a parent believes, as my wife and I believe, that God requires us to directly teach our own children, the government’s international obligations require them to teach in conformity with our own religious and moral beliefs,” Farris said.

When any government does go beyond that they violate the rights of parents, and it is a violation of international law for any state to enforce a total ban on home education, he added, explaining that “any nation that seeks…

Wisconsin Church Buys Closed Strip Club

(Photo: Unsplash/Daniel Tseng)A church in Wisconsin is seeking to do something positive with the property a strip club previously occupied

A church in Marshfield, Wisconsin recently purchased an old strip club.

For more than three decades, the “Rear End” strip club operated in the south side of Marshfield before closing down.

When the owner of the strip club, J.D. Koran, put the property up for sale, he didn’t have to wait long to find a buyer, North Ridge Church, ABC12 reported.

North Ridge Church Pastor Preston Tippen commented on the purchase, saying, “About six months ago the idea was floated our way about purchasing the Rear End and doing something good with it. It wasn’t on the church’s radar at all, but the idea was just crazy enough to where we needed to look into it.”

Tippen acknowledged that there are people out there who will hear about the purchase and be surprised by it. But the church intends to do something good with the newly bought property. Tippen is eager to tackle the challenge of creating something good “on probably the last place someone would expect it to see happen.”

People from the church have dropped by to clean up the property.

Specific plans for the property are still to be determined, but the general idea is to do some restoration that will help…

Pray for St. Andrew’s Anglican Church

Location: Endicott, New York

Pastor: Tony Seel

Weekly Worship: 10:00 AM, Eastern

Fast Facts: St. Andrew’s was founded in 1949 in Vestal, NY, a community of roughly 10,000 people. The church grew under the founding pastor to over 200 members, but during the tenure of the second pastor, layoffs and relocations at nearby IBM resulted in a number of members leaving the area. In the mid 2000s, the church began praying and studying Scripture about whether it should continue in the Episcopal Church after the church’s stance on biblical sexuality changed. St. Andrew’s left the Episcopal Church in 2007 and moved into rented space at a nearby Baptist church and continued to meet. In 2012, St. Andrew’s purchased its current church building in nearby Endicott, NY, and has been working hard to connect with our its community. Please pray for their Vacation Bible School coming up the second week of August their Fall barbecue chicken ourtreach. Finally, please pray that they continue to effectively communicate the gospel through the church and through their personal lives.

Pope punishes US cardinal after sex abuse claims

The Vatican announced on Saturday that Francis ordered McCarrick to conduct a “life of prayer and penance” even before a church trial is held.

Breaking with past practice, Francis decided to act swiftly in the case of the emeritus archbishop of Washington DC even before the accusations can be investigated by church officials.

McCarrick was previously one of the highest, most well-known Catholic church officials in the United States and was heavily involved in the church’s response to allegations of priestly abuse.

The pope has ordered McCarrick’s “suspension from the exercise of any public ministry, together with the obligation to remain in a house yet to be indicated to him, for a life of prayer and penance until the accusations made against him are examined in a regular canonical trial”.

Among the boys McCarrick allegedly abused was a child he had baptised shortly after he was ordained a priest.

Francis received McCarrick’s letter offering to resign from the College of Cardinals on Friday evening, after recent weeks brought a spate of allegations that the 88-year-old prelate had for years sexually abused boys and had sexual misconduct with seminarians.

The McCarrick case posed a test of the pontiff’s recently declared resolve to battle what he called a “culture of cover-up” of similar abuses in the Catholic…

Nigerian mega-church pastor tells President to resign

Bishop David Oyedepo spoke to members of his mega-church in Lagos about his concerns about Muhammadu Buhari not doing enough to curtail violence towards Christians in the West African nation.

He asked: “How many want the killings to continue? How many want to see pastors in churches slaughtered? How many people want to see worshippers like we had it in Benue… where two priests and 17 worshippers were slayed in cold blood and nobody was arrested?

“Even our Islamic friends in the north are calling for [the president] to resign… or are we going to watch and see one system destroy a whole nation? Enough is enough.”

According to research by Christian Solidarity Worldwide, Muslim Fulani herder militia perpetrated at least 106 attacks on communities in central Nigeria in the first quarter of 2018 alone, claiming 1,061 lives.

The Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Elders Forum, Bosun Emmanuel, claimed recently that the present generation of Christians in Nigeria risk being the last.

He said Mr Buhari “is openly pursuing an anti-Christian agenda that has resulted in countless murders of Christians all over the nation and destruction of vulnerable Christian communities”.

Echoing this, Bishop David shared his advice to the Muslim president.

“The most honourable thing for any non-performing leader is to resign,” he said.

“That’s my word for Mr President – resign. Get out…
