Justin Bieber tells fans God’s timing is ‘literally perfect’ as he confirms engagement to Hailey Baldwin

The pop star also promised to lead his new family with “honor and integrity, letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do…”

Posting a picture of the couple on Instagram, the 24-year-old said: “God’s timing really is literally perfect, we got engaged on the seventh day of the seventh month, the number seven is the number of spiritual perfection, it’s true, GOOGLE IT! Isn’t that nuts?”

Hailey Baldwin, who is the daughter of actor and out-spoken Christian Stephen Baldwin, told supporters she was “utterly grateful to God” for her relationship with Justin.

She wrote on Twitter: “Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness but I am so utterly grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with! No words could ever express my gratitude.”

Bieber had previously been in a relationship with fellow singer Selena Gomez. The pair reportedly underwent Christian couples counselling last year with Carl Lenz, the 38-year-old pastor of Hillsong Church in New York – which Bieber has been attending.

His post on Instagram continued: “Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast, listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY.

Enjoy Rest in Marriage (Part 1) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Enjoy Rest in Marriage (Part 1)

Dear Reader,

This is a glorious day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. It will be a day of rest, laughter, rejoicing and fulfillment for you. I am so excited today about what God is expounding to His people. He says there is a place of rest in Him. He says, you have been battered and wounded enough, come around and obtain rest for your soul. In your family life, career and businesses, children and finances, there is rest for you.

You have run around enough. You have carried that burden for too long and you keep running helter-skelter just to survive. God says for the remaining part this year, He has prepared a place of rest for you and your family. I pray that you will see it and enter into it in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Today, I shall be examining the place of rest. Where is this place of rest? How do you get there? What does it take to get there? These are the things God wants to expound to us today. I pray that your eyes of understanding will be enlightened, and every unrest in your life and family will be destroyed.

What is rest? How can you say you are restful? A state of rest is to be at peace or at ease; a state of tranquillity. Jesus said: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).

Rest is obtainable, but only in Christ. You have been battered by the happenings all around you. Jesus invites you to come unto Him, if you desire rest. I don’t know what has been responsible for your unrest; you can be free today. No matter the mountain, no matter how big the burden has been, Jesus, the burden-bearer, invites you to come. The Bible says: Whatsoever the Lord doeth shall be forever (Ecclesiastes 3:14). When Jesus carries your burden for you, you can be rest assured that the case is settled for ever. All He requires of you is to come to Him. Come with the faith that He can do it; come with hope and He can never fail. That thing that causes you heartache, makes you sigh and shed secret tears, see Jesus walking by your side and lifting those burdens off you and giving you liberty. He says He will do it, not he may or he will try. It is His absolute desire to give you rest in life.

He said: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).It is the thief (devil) that is giving you unrest. His ministry is to kill, to steal and to destroy. Jesus, the author of life says, if you now come to Him, He will give you what the devil cannot access.

Maybe, as a student, you have been writing a particular exam several times, and the result is always the same. It has become a yoke in your life and a burden to you. Maybe, yours is in the area of finances, you wake up every morning, no breakfast, lunch not in view, not because you are fasting, but because there is nothing to eat. See Jesus take off this yoke from you and be free. All it takes is to come to him. See what the Bible says: Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness (Isaiah 55:1-2).Stop running helter-skelter, come to Jesus. Who is Jesus? He is The Word of God made flesh.

The Word of God is the water of life. Take refuge in the Word against all odds of life and every form of unrest. Is it a spouse’s ungodly behaviour or action? Is it a child’s unruly behaviour bothering you? Is it in the area of your finances? All you have to do is to turn to the Word. There is no rest in any other place; true and absolute rest can only be found in the Word of God. God has declared this year as your own year of turning point. A genuine turning point only comes from a restful soul. God cannot lie; it is your duty to allow His Word to produce in your own life. As many families as will care to find rest in God’s Word this year, they shall have cause to turn all-round.

For instance, every night, when you go to bed, you look through the window more than ten times you do more work when you sleep than when you are awake. Every bit of noise you hear wakes you up. This is not rest. Your protection is not in your looking out, neither is it in your jumping out, rather, sure protection comes from the Word of God. The Word says when you sleep, your sleep shall be sweet and nothing shall make you afraid. God cannot lie.

Maybe you are the type that each time you are on the road travelling, all kinds of picture come to your mind and you begin to picture every kind of accident. Then your heart begins to pant and skip a beat; this ought not to be so. Jesus says, “Come unto me.” It is in coming that you will have total rest either on the road, in the air or on the sea. Come to Him today. Dedicate your family to Him. Hand over all your children to Him. When your children travel to school, your mind is not at rest again. You begin to imagine all sorts of evil, accident, kidnap, immoralities, etc. When you and your family members come to Jesus on the basis of His Word, you all have a sure covering in his blood! You can be rest assured that your children, your business, all that belongs to you would not suffer what the people of the world suffer.

How do you come to Jesus? The Bible Says: If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10). It doesn’t take more than this to have perfect rest all around you. Make a wise decision today. Accept the Lord Jesus as your own personal Lord and Saviour. Make Him the Lord of your entire household and be at rest.

The Scripture above says you should confess with your mouth, and then believe what you have said in your heart. If you are not yet born again and you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ Name! Call or write to share your testimonies with me through [email protected], 07026385437 OR 08141320204.

Teens Open Heavens 10 July 2018 – Handling Negative Thoughts

Topic: Handling Negative Thoughts [Teens Open Heavens 10, July 2018]

Memorise: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. – Philippians 4:8

Read: Philippians 4:6-8 (KJV)

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Bible In One Year: Psalm 1-3, Acts 16:1-15

MESSAGE:

Believers are expected to keep records of all good deeds done to them by fellow believers and unbelievers. Why? It will help you to think the best concerning them, especially when they harm you or they exhibit a contrary behavior toward you.

If someone offends you and Satan gives you several reasons to dwell on that evil deed, ask yourself; “has this fellow ever done any good to me before? If not me, has this fellow ever been a blessing to someone I know? Is there anything I can appreciate or thank God for in this individual?” After thinking on these things, go ahead to thank God for that individual. You must always endeavor to shut out evil thoughts against a fellow man. Your heart is so delicate that you need good thoughts to preserve it effectively.

Action Point: Ask God to uproot every evil thought from your heart.

Hymn 16
1. Christian, seek not yet repose
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray.

2. Principalities and power
Mustering their unseen array
Wait for the unguarded hours:
Watch and pray

3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
Wear it ever night and day;
Ambushed lies the evil one:
Watch and pray.

4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
Still they mark each warriors’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
Watch and pray.

5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou loves to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word:
Watch and pray.

6. Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
Watch and pray.

A recent study by LifeWay Research showed that 15% of church members have considered leaving their church in the past six months. Today, we discuss why.

Some highlights from today’s episode include:

  • About 1 in 7 church members have considered leaving their church in the past six months.
  • In the future, people will not be driving as far as they do today to attend church. They will want to live and worship in the same neighborhood.
  • In effective evangelistic churches, you’re most likely to find expository preaching.
  • Most of the time when a pastor leaves a church, the church culture changes.
  • Parents today are more likely than in the past to change churches to benefit their kids.

The research we cover today comes from LifeWay Research. Here are a pair of summary graphics:

Joyce Meyer’s Daily 10 July 2018 Devotional — Celebrate Ordinary Life

Topic: Celebrate Ordinary Life [Joyce Meyer‘s Devotional Tuesday July 10, 2018]

…let me know Your ways so that I may know You [becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with You….Exodus 33:13 (AMP)

Every day is not Christmas or your birthday or even a holiday at school or work. In fact, most days are ordinary; they don’t have anything special about them unless we make them special. Too many ordinary days, especially if stress is “ordinary” for you, can lead to fatigue, lack of joy, resentment, or even bitterness. The way to avoid these things is to take time to celebrate and do things you enjoy—for no particular reason. Do them to celebrate life and to keep yourself in a good frame of mind.

The first thing your brain may say to you when you decide to have a little celebration in the middle of a mundane day is, You don’t have time to do that. But I am telling you that you need to take the time. If you do, your remaining tasks will go more smoothly and joyfully. If you don’t, then you are probably headed for some version of sinking emotions—discouragement, anger, resentment, or self-pity. When you start to feel down, just take the time to do something “up” that lifts your mood and helps you feel better about life in general.

Perhaps we could enjoy everyday life more if we learned to celebrate the ordinary. Eat a cookie (not a dozen), go to lunch with a good friend, sit in the sunshine, go for a walk. Take the time to do whatever is special to you in the midst of your ordinary, everyday activities.

No day needs to be ordinary if we realize the gift God is giving us when He gives us another day.

Prayer Starter: Father, help me to celebrate life today. In the midst of my busy day, allow me to see opportunities to laugh or do something special that will lift my mood. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Thai Official Says Rescued Boys Are Generally Healthy – Urban Christian News

The eight boys rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand are in “high spirits” and have strong immune systems because they are soccer players, a senior health official said Tuesday, as rescuers prepared for a third push to rescue five still deep in the cave.

Jesada Chokdumrongsuk, deputy director-general of the Public Health Ministry, said the first four boys rescued, aged 12 to 16, are now able to eat normal food. Two of them possibly have a lung infection but all eight are generally “healthy and smiling,” he said.

“The kids are footballers so they have high immune systems,” Jesada said. “Everyone is in high spirits and are happy to get out. But we will have a psychiatrist to evaluate them.”

It could be at least seven days before they can be released from hospital, Jesada told a news conference.

Family members have seen at least some of the boys from behind a glass isolation barrier, and Jesada said doctors may let the boys walk around their beds Tuesday.

It was clear doctors were taking a cautious approach. Jesada said they were uncertain what type of infections the boys could face “because we have never experienced this kind of issue from a deep cave.”

Three more ambulances were seen leaving the area around the flooded cave in northern Thailand where members of a youth football team have been trapped for more than two weeks. 8 of the 12 boys have been brought out of the cave system by divers. (July 9)

The second group of four rescued on Monday are aged 12 to 14. Four boys and their 25-year-old soccer coach remain deep in the cave, an ordeal that has…

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Tuesday, 10 July 2018 – Dry Bones Shall Rise Again (I)

TOPIC: Dry Bones Shall Rise Again (I) (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Tuesday, 10 July 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ezekiel 37: 1-7

MEMORY VERSE: “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” Joel 2:25

The MESSAGE:

God delivered the Israelites from the cruelty of Pharoah and brought them to the Promised Land. Soon after they settled in the Promised Land, they forgot the God that saved them from bondage and started serving other gods. Nebuchadnezzar and his army carried them again into captivity and this was the condition Ezekiel found himself. Nonetheless, God gave him a vision of many dry white bones in the valley. God then asked Ezekiel if the dry bones could live. Because of the hopelessness of the situation, Ezekiel said only God knew if they would live. Accordingly, Israel was deep into captivity and there was no way they could get out of the Babylonian captivity outside God’s help.

When you look at your situation and all you can see is hopelessness, fear and captivity, be assured that God is the God of Restoration. He is eager to make you smile again. He is eager to turn your sadness to joy and your shame to fame. Just as Ezekiel prophesied upon the dry bones and life came back unto them, the Lord Jesus will turn your story around for glory.

To a user of this devotional, God Almighty who alone has the final say, says, “Your dry bones shall rise again.”

The Lord is saying:

  • You will be congratulated again
  • You will shine again
  • Your today shall be better than yesterday
  • You will recover and be made whole
  • You will laugh again

No matter how badly damaged your bones have been, there is resurrection in Christ Jesus. The dry bones could be in the area of matrimonial joy or peace. It could be in the area of physical health or financial state, Jesus is the answer to every dryness and He has promised restoration.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE POWER THAT BRINGS DRY BONES IS NO MATCH TO THE POWER THAT SAYS LET THERE BE LIGHT.*

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall arise and you shall shine!

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Father, I celebrate You because You are the Resurrection and the Life, in the name of Jesus.
2. I come out of the grave of my father’s house, in the name of Jesus.
3. I cut off the ministry of the wasters from every area of my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Yoke of frustration and rejection in my life, be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
5. Dry bones of my celebration, arise and shine, in the name of Jesus.
6. Declare it 21 times; I will shine again, in the name of Jesus.
7. O God, arise and let Your glory speak for me as from today, in the name of Jesus.

South Korea Suspends Civilian Drills to Help Talks With North Korea – Urban Christian News

South Korea has suspended its summertime civil defense drills aimed at preparing against a North Korean attack to keep alive a positive atmosphere for nuclear diplomacy with the North.

Seoul’s decision on Tuesday to “temporarily suspend” the nationwide civilian drills had been anticipated since the United States and South Korea halted their annual military exercises following a summit last month between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Streets in South Korean cities froze at the sound of air-raid sirens every year during the Ulchi drills in August with cars stopping on roads, pedestrians moving into buildings and subway stations, and government workers evacuating from their offices.

Kim Boo Kyum, minister of the interior and safety, said the suspension of the civilian drills was a follow-up to the suspension of the military exercises amid recent changes in “South-North relations and other security situations.” He said the government and military will work to design a new civil defense program to be launched next year that will be aimed at preparing people for natural disasters and terrorist attacks in addition to military attacks.

The Ulchi civilian drills were launched in 1968, a year after a failed attempt by North Korean commandos to assassinate then-South Korean dictator Park Chung-hee.

There had been criticism on whether the civilian exercises were adequately preparing South Koreans from North Korean threats. For most South Koreans, there’s no real training, with people standing around in gathering spots, staring into their phones or…

122 Killed by Japanese Flooding and Mudslides – Urban Christian News

Rescuers combed through mud-covered hillsides and near riverbanks Tuesday to look for dozens of people still missing after days of heavy rains caused flooding and mudslides in southwestern Japan, where the death toll has risen to 122.

Officials and reports say more than 80 people are still unaccounted for, many of them in the hardest-hit Hiroshima area. The Fire and Disaster Management Agency said 122 people have been confirmed dead as of early Tuesday.

Several days of heavy rainfall that weather officials have called historic set off flooding and landslides in widespread areas of western Japan, including Hiroshima, Okayama and Ehime prefectures. Many people started to return and check on their homes and begin cleanup after the rain stopped Monday.

The government has set up a taskforce to speed up deliveries of supplies and other support for evacuation centers and residents in the region, but disrupted roads and other ground transportation have delayed shipment, raising concerns of shortages.

Minoru Katayama, 86, rushed back to his home in Mabi city, in Okayama prefecture, on Monday, and found his 88-year-old wife, Chiyoko, dead on the first floor. Floodwaters rose so fast they caught the couple by surprise.

“My wife could not climb up the stairs, and nobody else was around to help us out,” Katayama told national broadcaster NHK. His wife was among more than 20 people who were found dead in the city, where a river dike collapsed.

The assessment of casualties has been difficult because of the widespread area affected. Officials in Ehime prefecture asked the central government to…

TREM Devotional 10 July 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – Take It By Faith

Topic: Take It By Faith [TREM Devotional Tuesday July 10, 2018]

“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2

Grace is a supplier. Grace supplies but faith takes. If you don’t have faith you cannot receive what grace has supplied. Every believer must understand this key truth. Grace supplies food on the table. The banquet is spread but without faith, you won’t take it. It is yours but you need faith to take it. Without faith, you can’t take it. If you don’t believe that it belongs to you, you will still live in sickness. If you don’t believe that it has been given to you free of charge, you will still die of diseases and die of hunger because you failed to take what grace has supplied.

There are many believers who are failing to take what grace has supplied. Everything in this life has been supplied but He tells us that we take it by faith. So, faith is so important that God had to give us faith when we got saved. It is part of your heritage the day you got saved. Every believer has faith.

The book of Romans 12:3 tells us “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Every one of us has the measure of faith. We all started with the same measure. You may not have been developing your own and that is why the Bible talks about little faith, small faith and great faith. It graduates depending on how you exercise your own. Just like your muscles get stronger when you do exercises.
