Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]. — Hebrews 4:16

It might do all of us good to spend some time watching birds. That’s what our Lord told us to do. If not every day, then at least every now and then we need to take the time to observe and remind ourselves how well our feathered friends are cared for. They literally do not know where their next meal is coming from, yet, I have personally never seen a bird sitting on a tree branch having a nervous breakdown due to worry.

The Master’s point here is really very simple: “Are you not worth more than a bird?” Even though you may be wrestling with a poor self-image, surely you can believe that you are more valuable than a bird, and look how well your heavenly Father takes care of them.

Prayer Starter: Father, thank You for reminding me that when life is overwhelming or I’m tempted to worry, I have tremendous value in Your eyes, and You’ll never let me down. Help me to be mindful that You will always love me, provide for me, and take care of every need. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Topic: Relishing Marital Harmony (3)

Dear Reader,

Once again, you are welcome to this column. Today, we shall be looking at: ‘Understanding Men and Women’s Differences’

Understand that a man and woman are different. They are different not only physically but emotionally. Thus, when you realise this, you will understand your partner better. Men and women are created, not to compete with one another; they are created by God to complement one another. So that whatever is lacking in one, the other one will supply.

Men and women are different in the way they respond to life and things generally. When you get to understand these differences, it will help you to maximize the harmony that God has destined for your marriage.

Area of Differences in Men and Women

In their thinking trend

Men think in a straight line; and that helps them to maintain focus. So, when a man picks on one thing, he focusses on it until it is accomplished. But on the other hand, women, we are told, think a grid; and a grid is simply several lines. And that is why you find out, naturally speaking it is possible for a woman to start two or three things at the same time, and at the end of the day she may end up not really accomplishing any of them.

This is why, among other things, God instituted marriage to ensure a balance. Thus, balance is the key of harmony in marriage. So, when in a bid to maintain focus, a man leaves, the woman remains; sometimes, to say, Take it easy I need you, God needs you, the children need you. Also, when the woman seems to really not know which focus to maintain, the man is there in the home to say: In this area, I think you will do better, in that area why don’t you believe God to give you direction. He encourages her and then, she begins to take giant steps in the things of God. I have said over and again, ‘If there is anything like another world, I will still marry my husband, Bishop David Oyedepo because, among other things, he has helped me a great deal to discover my God-given potentials. For that, I will ever be grateful, because now I know I am on course with destiny and purpose.

In Terms of Priorities

Naturally speaking, for men, in terms of priority, it is work; but, to a woman, relationship is a priority. She values relationships, home, marriage and friends; and like we said, balance is the key.

Survival

It is very important to understand this: what oxygen is to a human being is what respect is to a husband from his wife. Just like a human being cannot survive without oxygen, a husband in a home cannot survive without respect from his wife. Thus, if a woman has an understanding of this, she will learn to respect her husband. Receive greater grace to begin to respect your husband; and as you begin to do so, you will enjoy greater harmony in your home.

Also, for the woman, what oxygen is to a human being is what love from a man is to his wife. The question is: Men how much do you love your wives? Some men keep saying, Well, my wife knows that I love her. Yes, she knows, but she wants you to always express it to her in words. You have to say it over and over again to her and let her know that you really love her. It was Lester Sumrall of blessed memory who said in his book “God’s Blueprint for a Happy Home, “ A man can never fully understand what the statement, ‘I love You’ can do in the life of his wife”. That is the way God made us. So, I say to the married men, say it over and again and harmony in your marriage is just beginning.

So, when you look at the differences, between men and women, you find out that balance is required. Also, it is very important to understand that no degree of success at the office can compensate for the failure in the home. You shall not be a failure!

Finally, it is important to know that love is a choice and it is the nature of God. Wherever God is, love is. Thus, for you to enjoy harmony in your marriage love must be at work. It was a wise man who said, “Love without truth is hypocrisy, and truth without love is brutality”. You will not be found either in hypocrisy or brutality in Jesus name! But rather, the love of God which is already shed abroad in your heart by the Holy Ghost will begin to empower, engrace and enable you to secure harmony in marriage.

You need wisdom to build your home and God is the source of that wisdom. If, peradventure, you are not born again and you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, then say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

Topic: Unveiling The Benefits Of The Giving Covenant!

Welcome to another impactful week of great things. I hope you were blessed by last week teaching. Today, we shall focus on Unveiling the Gateways to Financial Dominion!

We discover from scriptures that covenant practice is the platform for empowerment into realms of financial fortune. That is, God empowers us for wealth on the basis of His covenant (Deuteronomy 8:18). It is important to note that God’s financial dominion plan anchors on the covenant of seed time and harvest, which connotes giving and receiving. Remember, a covenant is a deal enacted by God based on well-defined terms and sealed with an oath, committing God’s integrity to make good His promise (Job 22:21-26; 2 Corinthians 8:9). This covenant is as reliable as the covenant of day and night. That means, as the day and night keep changing positions and the sun and moon continue to rule the day and night, this covenant remains in force (Psalm 89:34; Jeremiah 33:20-21, 25-26; Philippians 4:15).

Let us also recognise that we either engage the covenant of abundance or we are not candidates for God’s financial fortune plan. This is because it is obedience to God’s commandments that puts us in command of His blessings. We must, therefore, take fast hold of instructions on any subject of interest to us because that is our guarantee for taking delivery of such provisions. God’s plans are authentic and His purposes are established in heaven forever. All we need is to position ourselves through obedience to take delivery of our portion (Genesis 12:1-3; Deuteronomy 5:32-33).

One great mystery behind financial fortune is having Kingdom advancement dreams. That is, for the financial giant in us to come alive, we must be big-time Kingdom dreamers. Without a Kingdom dream, we are not candidates for financial fortune. This is because God’s financial resources are primarily entrusted to promote His Kingdom. As it is written: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). We must recognise that Kingdom wealth is an entrustment, not an achievement. That is, it is entrusted to people God can trust to fulfil His purpose with it (Luke 16:11; Exodus 35:4-5, 16, 22; Haggai 1:5-11). When we identify a cause in the Kingdom and invest in it with delight, we access God’s favour which makes us triumphant where others struggle. Therefore, the bigger our Kingdom dreams, the larger the coast of our financial fortune.

Interestingly, the returns on our givings are not only limited to financial blessings but other fringe benefits that money cannot buy. We understand from scriptures that when Israelites entered into a covenant to serve the Lord, which they proved through their sacrifices, He gave them rest roundabout (2 Chronicles 15:15).

What, then, are the Benefits of the Giving Covenant?

It Averts Curses: Curses are real and there are many victims of generational curses in the world today. We saw from scriptures that Noah reared an altar of sacrifice and God averted the curse upon humanity (Genesis 8:20-22). Also, as a result of David’s sin, God plagued the Israelites. However, when David offered a sacrifice to God, the Bible says: …So the Lord was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel (2 Samuel 24:24-25). If God averted the curse that He proclaimed through the altar of sacrifice, any other curse working against any destiny can be cheaply averted through the covenant of giving and receiving, which includes sacrifice (Malachi 3:6).

It Engenders Divine Health: Anytime we give to the needy, we are giving to the Lord and servicing His interest (Proverbs 19:17; Matthew 25:40-41; Psalm 41:1-3). Moreover, as we minister to the needy, God delights in adding more years to us on the earth. This is because true givers are not permitted to be tormented by sickness. We must understand that life is about ministering to the needs of others around us as ‘engraced’ by God. Money cannot buy health but giving secures and insures our health against satanic assaults.

It Engenders Divine Protection: As God remembers our offerings, He stands to defend us (Psalm 20:1-3). The giving covenant invokes God’s blessings on our lives, which makes us indestructible. For instance, every plan to destroy Joseph failed because the blessings of his father prevailed on his life. Likewise, when God pronounces us blessed, the assaults of the wicked cannot prevail on our lives. (Psalm 112:10; Genesis 49:26). When we engage in covenant practice, our protection is as sure as eternity. Moreover, every covenant practitioner has an impregnable wall of fire around him that the devil and his agents cannot break through (Job 1:9-10, 22:23-25).

It Engenders Fruitfulness: The covenant of giving and receiving terminates barrenness and grants us access to supernatural fruitfulness. Abraham and Sarah in their usual liberality entertained angels unaware. As a result, God terminated their shame and blessed them with Isaac, even in their old age. Also, the Shunammite woman and her husband ministered to Elisha and God blessed them with a son in return (Genesis 18:1-10; 2 Kings 4:8-17; Psalm 113:9).

It Engenders Favour: When Solomon reared an altar of sacrifice to God, He appeared to him (Solomon) in a dream and said: …Ask what I shall give thee (1 Kings 3:5). He asked for wisdom and God granted him more than he asked for. The giving covenant offers us an open cheque to secure God’s favour in our affairs (1 Kings 3:3-5, 13; Psalm 45:12).

Topic: No Limits

In the supernatural, there is no limit to what God has given to you. No man is permitted to limit you. God is speaking to you now – all things are yours! The moment you believe the word of God which is supernatural, you step into the arena of NO-LIMITS.

When God speaks, He does not speak at your level; He speaks at HIS level. God does not talk to us based on circumstances; He talks to us based on His abilities. He does not speak based on situations; He speaks based on what HE can do.

Ex. 14:15 -And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

Moses looked at the Omnipotence of God; the one who gave him the command and urged the Israelites to go forward. Until you go forward, satan will not go backward. You will know how weak the devil is when you roar against him. I decree to you that every devil before you will give way today in Jesus name!

As Moses stepped forward, the red sea moved backward. As you operate in the supernatural, God does the impossible. Moses connected with divinity to swallow humanity.

Jer. 32:27 -Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?

There is no sickness God cannot heal; there is no situation God cannot change; there is no evil God cannot stop. If HE could divide the red sea, every obstacle before you will give way in the name of Jesus!!

Matt. 19:26 -But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

God wants you to believe His word; He hates to be doubted. God wants you to trust Him. It pains Him when you doubt Him; you give Him pleasure when you trust Him.

Let no man limit you, let no circumstance limit you, let no situation limit you for all things are yours! According to history, the strongest army then was the Egyptian army. Egypt was the centre of civilization then and Moses, who grew under Pharaoh, told him to let his people go. If you want to know how weak the devil is, just trust God. People fear him out of ignorance. The devil does not command your fear.

Everything you see in God’s word can be yours through the word of God. So, search out what you want from the scripture and take possession of it. God is bigger than that situation. Stand on the integrity of God’s word.

Satan attacks through sight, sound and smell (symptoms) but if you stand on the word of God, all things are yours.

Heb.4:2 – For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

It is your faith that makes the word of God to work. You have to mix the word of God with faith to produce expected result. Today I speak into your life: that disease will go! That shame will go! Yes, they may have mocked you but every time men mock you, God is about to make you! Believe it and declare it that all things are yours and you will see them come to pass in your life in Jesus name -Amen!!!

Topic: Mistaken Identity [DCLM Daily Manna Monday June 18, 2018]

Text: 2 Chronicles 18:28-34 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him” (2 Chronicles 18:31).

MESSAGE:

In Tibet, there is a social system called the caste system, which has been maintained for a long time. It is a system where one’s birth determines what they do or who they become in life and society. People are born either as outcasts, priests or as lower caste depending on the kind of family or clan they were born into. Once a person is born in a particular caste, it would be almost impossible for such a person to move up the social ladder to assume another status.

Recently, reliable sources say that some people started breaking the jinx by dressing and acting the way the higher caste people do things and are often mistaken as being born into the caste to which they now appear to be.

Mistaken identity could be sometimes very dangerous especially when it comes to matters of life and death. Ahab, in the text, had tricked Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, to dress and be mistaken for the enemy target. This almost cost Jehoshaphat his life. Moses, while he fled from Egypt, was similarly mistaken for an Egyptian because of how he was dressed while he helped the daughters of his prospective employer, the Priest of Midian (Exodus 2:15-19).

Our dressing or how we appear, usually gives us away. People define us by how we look, while in most cases, we define ourselves by what we own. As Christians, how we appear or comport ourselves to a large extent determines how well we can attract others to Christ and win them to the Lord. It is tragic for a believer to be categorised amongst sinners by his/her carriage or dressing. It is doubly tragic to attempt to placate the world by our general outlook because of a damning appetite to be accepted by the world. A real child of God comports himself/herself in righteousness and offers no apologies for the garb and tongue provided by God and for His glory.

Thought For The Day: If you are a pilgrim, appear like one; don’t be like those on vanity fair.

Topic: Making The Most Of Time [Seeds of Destiny Monday June 18, 2018]

Scripture: Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom. Psalm 90:12(NLT)

Thought For The Day: Where you are today is a product of what you did with time yesterday; and where you will be tomorrow is being determined by what you are doing with your time now.

Previously, we saw that the profitable use of time is necessary for the fulfilment of destiny. Notwithstanding this fact, some people still live anyhow on earth without regard for time or a sense of value for it.

It is important to know that what a person becomes on earth is a function of how he uses or maximizes his time.

I will like you to take note of the following key thoughts on time and how it affects destiny:

1. The way you handle your time today, determines the way your future will handle you
When your time is wasted today, you would be irrelevant in your future.

2. The waste of time is the waste of life
If you waste one hour, you have wasted one hour worth of life. Whatever one hour is equal to in life, you have wasted it.

3. To waste time is worse than murder; it is suicide.
If someone is wasting time, what he is doing is worse than murder; it is suicide. He’s killing himself. Any attempt to kill time is an attempt at killing of self.

4. Your dividends/profits in life are the product of your investment of time.
Where you are today, is a product of what you did with time yesterday; and where you will be tomorrow, is being determined by what you are doing with your time now. A lot of us in Africa blame witches and wizards for every failure in life but there are many people whose calamity in life is not caused by witches and wizard, but by a lack of value for time.

Beloved, do not be a victim of time wastage. Live to maximise your time.

Remember this: Where you are today is a product of what you did with time yesterday; and where you will be tomorrow is being determined by what you are doing with your time now.

Assignments:
1. Handle time wisely; invest in time profitably.
2. Do not waste your time

Prayer: O Lord, I receive Your grace to handle time wisely and not to waste it. Cause me to maximize the time of my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: Enlarge Your Coast [TREM Devotional Monday June 18, 2018]

“Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]” Ephesians 3:20 (AMP)

This is the time to enlarge your coast, lengthen your cords and stretch forth the curtains of your habitations. It is a new era. God is exceeding your imagination. You must make plans. In 1 Kings 17:12, the widow said “I have this small thing to eat and then die” and Elijah said “no, don’t make plans to die, make plans to live.” Your life is just about to start. No more dry season. It is a fruitful season. Everything you touch will be fruitful. It doesn’t matter what others are encountering, you are of a different stock. You belong to God. You won’t have dry season. Dry season for others, minus you! Praise God.

Woman, don’t plan to die, plan to live! And the interesting thing is that the woman did what the prophet of God said. She re-arranged her plan. She didn’t argue! Because when we read downwards the Bible declared that: “She went and did according to the saying of Elijah” (1 Kings 17:15 KJV). She re-arranged her plan. Rather than plan what she was going to eat by herself, she said, ‘set the table and seats, we are having a guest in our house.”

Child of God, take your eyes off yourself. Have the kingdom mentality and see God do beyond your expectation. One of the things that has been garaging the Body of Christ over the years is that we have been thinking too much about ourselves. There is no way you can think kingdom thoughts that God will not give you beyond your expectation. That is one of the secrets I have discovered. Anyone who has the kingdom agenda in his heart and mind never lacks.

Topic: Blessing in the Mess [Our Daily Bread 18 Monday June, 2018]

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

I got myself into this mess, so I’d better get myself out, I sometimes find myself thinking. Although I believe in a God of grace, I’m still prone to act as if His help is available only when I deserve it.

God’s first encounter with Jacob is a beautiful illustration of how untrue this is.

Jacob had spent a lifetime trying to alter his destiny. He’d been born second at a time when firstborn sons typically received their father’s blessing—believed to guarantee future prosperity.

So Jacob decided to do whatever it would take to get his father’s blessing anyway. Eventually, he succeeded—through deceit—obtaining the blessing intended for his brother (Genesis 27:19–29).

But the price was a divided family, as Jacob fled from his furious brother (vv. 41–43). As night descended (28:11), Jacob must have felt as far from a life of blessing as ever.

But it was there, leaving behind a trail of deception, that Jacob met God. God showed him he didn’t need desperate schemes to be blessed; he already was. His destiny—a purpose far greater than material prosperity (v. 14)—was held securely by the One who would never leave him (v. 15).

It was a lesson Jacob would spend his whole life learning.

And so will we. No matter how many regrets we carry or how distant God seems, He is still there—gently guiding us out of our mess into His blessing.

Prayer: Lord, so often we feel trapped by our mistakes, thinking there’s no future left for us. Remind us that you are the God of Jacob, the God who will never give up on Your purposes for us.

God never gives up on His love and purposes for our lives.

Topic: Discover What Grace Can Do [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Monday June 18, 2018]

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. – Acts 4:33

Most of us don’t have any idea what grace really is. Oh, we know some basic facts about it. We know we were saved by it (Ephesians 2:8). But we don’t even begin to understand the real power it can release in our lives now, today!

If you want to get a picture of what grace can really do, look at what happened to the early Christians in Acts 4. They’d been threatened by the religious leaders of Jerusalem and commanded not to speak or teach anymore in Jesus’ Name. So, they were praying about the situation.

Roughly, what they said was this, “Now Lord, we’ve been threatened, but we aren’t about to quit preaching and go hide out under some religious rug. Just turn the power up, give us boldness, and we’ll go on.”

Do you know what happened as a result of that prayer? Verse 33 tells us, “Great grace was upon them all.”

Great grace. Grace so powerful that when those believers received it, the whole building shook. Grace so great it enabled the apostles to work “many signs and wonders…among the people” (Acts 5:12).

That one story alone should be enough to convince you that grace is not just some abstract, spiritual state of mind. Grace is real. It’s powerful. It provides the supernatural power to make things happen!

Now, do you want to know something really exciting? The Bible says that same grace that was available to the early Church in Jerusalem is available to anyone who’s ever sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Thank God, that means you and I qualify!

If the devil’s been threatening you lately, follow the example of those early Christians. Get in prayer and say, “Lord, I don’t care what the devil and his bunch say, I’m not going to back down. I’m going to keep on talking and living by faith—and I’m going to do it boldly. So, just turn up the power!”

I guarantee, if you’re sincere about it, He’ll do it; and you’ll begin to discover what grace is really all about.

Topic: Abraham’s Children [Andrew Wommack Monday June 18, 2018]

John 8:37 “I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.”

Text: John 8:33-38

The Jewish people were direct descendants of Abraham. However, as with so many biblical truths, there was much more to the Abrahamic covenant than what a casual glimpse would reveal. In truth, these Jews were not actually a part of the spiritual children of Abraham.

The Holy Spirit revealed through the Apostle Paul in Galatians 3:16 and 29 that God’s covenant was to Abraham and his singular “seed” or descendant, which was Christ. No one ever became an heir of God’s promises through his natural birth. Before Jesus gave Himself as an offering for our sin, the Old Testament saints were justified by faith in God’s promises concerning the Messiah who was yet to come. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, New Testament saints are justified by faith in what Jesus has already accomplished. No one has ever been saved because of who his parents are.

Those who have been born again through faith in Jesus have been circumcised in their heart (Col. 2:11-12) and are the true Jews. They aren’t Jews in nationality or religion, but they are the true people of God. Gentiles who are united with Christ in the new birth are now God’s people. Anyone who is saved through faith in Jesus is now Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise (Gal. 3:16, 22, 26-29). This leaves no doubt that the Church is now God’s chosen people on earth. This does not mean that God has forsaken the Jews. There are still prophesies which apply to the physical nation of Israel which will be fulfilled. However, the New Testament Church, composed of Jews and Gentiles, is now God’s kingdom on earth. We are all His.
