TREM Devotional 9 June 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – Who Is Speaking Into Your Life?

Topic: Who Is Speaking Into Your Life? [TREM Devotional Saturday June 9, 2018]

“And all the elders and all the people said to him, “Do not listen or consent.” 1 Kings 20:8 (NKJV)

Beloved, I want to encourage you, whenever you are reading the Bible, don’t be in haste, take your time, and try to understand the verse and what God is saying. Yesterday we dealt with choosing carefully what we listen and consent to.

However, there is much more to that verse, it opens up with “And all the elders and all the people said to him…”, meaning he recognized the place of the elders and the people in the land. Yes, he was the King, but that did not eliminate the place of the elders, he still regarded the elders and could go to them in difficult times.

The elders in this scripture represent leadership, some sort of covering, which today can be interpreted as the Pastor, who could offer him wise counsel. Child of God, do you have a Pastor you listen to? Is there a mentor, an accountability partner in your life? Do you have one who you can go to, to get wise counsel and seek direction from? No man is an island and you cannot know it all. God made us all interdependent, you need people to help you get to your destiny.

However, while you must have people who counsel you, please test every spirit. Don’t just take a counsel hook, line sinker, boat, water and everything under the water. Test every spirit. You are a child of God, so you must be able to discern and not just get swayed by every wind of doctrine. Remember the story of the prophet who God gave specific instruction to, but an old prophet deceived him and a lion killed him (1 Kings 13). God spoke to him clearly, but he missed it and got the reward of disobedience.

You must know God for yourself. God will use people to confirm the word to you, but you have the responsibility to hear Him. Jesus said “My sheep hear My voice”

Canadian Anti-G7 Protest Thwarted by Rogue Balloon Cam – Urban Christian News

Canadian anti-G7 activists were on Friday reduced to appealing to authorities or bystanders to return their camera after they lost contact with a ballon deployed to hoist it aloft.

The left-leaning environmental group Council of Canadians set up a 50 by 35-meter (150 by 115-foot) banner on ground nine miles from the Quebec golf resort hosting the G7 summit.

They hoped the sign, a crossed out G7 logo, would be visible from the helicopters ferrying in leaders of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States.

And, as back-up and to provide footage to publicize their stunt, they also wanted aerial footage — despite draconian rules banning private drones from the summit area.

Their solution was to rig a GoPro action camera to helium balloons. The plan hit an immediate snag.

Organizers lost control of the camera rig when strong winds snagged it in a tree, snapping two retention lines.

Andrew Wommack’s Devotional 9 June 2018 – Limitless Forgiveness

Topic: Limitless Forgiveness [Andrew Wommack Saturday June 9, 2018]

Matthew 18:33 “Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?”

Topic: Matthew 18: 21-35

Peter thought he was being very generous by offering to forgive his brother seven times in one day, but Jesus said he should forgive him 490 times in one day. It would be impossible to have someone sin against you 490 times in one day. Jesus is actually saying that there should be no limit to our forgiveness.

When we are offended or hurt, we often feel justified in holding a grudge. The Old Testament law expressed this when it stated, “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth” (Ex. 21:23-25). Until the offense was paid, we did not feel free to forgive. However, God dealt with all men’s offenses by placing sin upon the perfect Savior who was judged in place of every sinner of all time. To demand that others now earn our forgiveness is not Christ like. Jesus died for every man’s sins, extending forgiveness to us while we were yet sinners, and we should do the same.

The main thrust of this parable is that when we have people who wrong us, we should remember the great mercy that God has shown to us and respond in kind. Any debt that could be owed to us is insignificant compared to the debt we were forgiven. We should have compassion on others as Christ had on us.

If God expects us to forgive our brother who has trespassed against us 490 times in one day (actually an unlimited number of times), certainly He who is love will do no less with us.

The forgiveness that we have received from the Lord is infinitely greater than any forgiveness we could ever be asked to extend toward others.

Billy Graham Devotional 9 June 2018 – Gladness on Sunday

Topic: Gladness on Sunday [Billy Graham’s Devotional Saturday June 9, 2018]

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. — Psalm 122:1

A lot of people get what I call “Sunday-it is” on Sunday mornings. Do you know what Sunday-it is? It attacks the victim shortly before breakfast on Sunday morning. It is accompanied by a feeling of weakness and lethargy. Sometimes the victim has a slight headache which is aggravated by the ringing of the church bells in the community. But the disease is of short duration, usually disappearing about noon, when the victim is able to eat a full dinner and play golf in the afternoon. But the symptoms usually appear again about 7:30 Sunday evening, and then disappear until the next Sunday morning.

Prayer for the day: May I always have the gladness that David had, as each Sunday I prepare to worship You in Your house, heavenly Father.

Our Daily Bread Devotional 9 June 2018 – The Perfect Father

Topic: The Perfect Father [Our Daily Bread 9 Saturday June, 2018]

Read: Psalm 27, Bible in a Year: 2 Chronicles 32–33; John 18:19–40

Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Psalm 27:10

Standing in the crowded store aisle, I struggled to find the perfect Father’s Day card. Although we had reconciled after years of a strained connection, I had never felt close to my dad.

The woman next to me groaned and shoved the card she’d been reading back into the display. “Why can’t they make cards for people who don’t have good relationships with their fathers, but are trying to do the right thing?”

She stormed off before I could respond, so I prayed for her. Thanking God for affirming only He could be a perfect Father, I asked Him to strengthen my relationship with my dad.

I long for deeper intimacy with my heavenly Father too. I want David’s confidence in God’s constant presence, power, and protection (Psalm 27:1–6).

When David cried out for help, he expected God’s answers (vv. 7–9). Though earthly parents could reject, abandon, or neglect their children, David declared God’s unconditional acceptance (v. 10). He lived with assurance in the Lord’s goodness (vv. 11–13). Like most of us, David sometimes struggled, but the Holy Spirit helped him persevere in trust and dependence on the Lord (v. 14).

We will encounter difficult relationships on this side of eternity. But even when people fall short, fail us, or hurt us, we’re still completely loved and protected by the only Perfect Father.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being a Father we can always count on.

God—the Perfect Father—will never let us down, leave us, or stop loving us.

Kenneth & Gloria Copeland Devotional 9 June 2018 – Grace Is Enough

Topic: Grace Is Enough [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Saturday June 9, 2018]

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me. – 2 Corinthians 12:7

The devil has used the traditional teaching of Paul’s thorn in the flesh to talk believers out of the blessings of God for years, to try to convince us to settle for everything from sickness to sin—and to do it of our own free will.

It is perhaps the most destructive and the most widely accepted misinterpretation of Scripture that exists in the Body of Christ today. I’ve gone into countries to preach to people who hardly had any knowledge of the Word at all and still I have found that somehow they’d been taught about Paul’s thorn.

And most of them have been taught wrongly.

Tradition says that God gave Paul the thorn in the flesh. What’s more, tradition makes the “thorn” into some great mystery. But the Scripture doesn’t say that at all!

It says that the thorn in the flesh was a messenger of Satan. Not God—Satan! The thorn was quite literally just what Paul says it was—a “messenger sent from Satan.”

You see, everywhere Paul went, he preached the gospel and every time he preached, he destroyed a little more of Satan’s kingdom. So, Satan sent a messenger, an evil spirit, to stop him.

When Paul sought the Lord concerning this thorn (look at 2 Corinthians 12:8-10), God didn’t answer Paul in the negative. God said, “My grace (or, My favor) is enough. It is sufficient for you. For My strength is made perfect in your weakness (inability to produce results)” (W.E. Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words).

In other words, when Paul didn’t have enough human strength to overcome, God’s miracle-working power was sufficient for him. It enabled him to be an overcomer in spite of his weakness.

Don’t allow the devil to talk you out of your victory. Throw tradition aside and dare to believe the Word of God. Fight the fight of faith, and just like the Apostle Paul, you will see the salvation of the Lord!

Seeds of Destiny 9 June 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: The Products Of Mental Upgrade

Topic: The Products Of Mental Upgrade [Seeds of Destiny Saturday June 9, 2018]

Scripture: If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. Ecclesiastes 10:10

Thought For The Day: When you sharpen your mentality, you increase your worth in life.

Our anchor Scripture makes us to understand that when you increase your wisdom or knowledge base, you cannot operate like a blunt axe that requires the exertion of much physical strength to accomplish a task. Every time you spend time on education and gain information, you sharpen your cutting edge. For example, when an athlete decides to take hours to work on himself by following the instructions of a trainer or an instructor, he sharpens his cutting edge and when it is time for a race, no one can be ahead of him because he has taken time to sharpen himself.

Now, I want you to take note of the following:
i) When you sharpen your mentality or your ability through information and revelation, you increase your efficiency in life.
Your efficiency and effectiveness in life is increased when you sharpen your ability and upgrade mentality by information.

ii) When you sharpen yourself, you reduce or eliminate stress and tension out of your life
You eliminate sweating and struggle when you sharpen your mentality. Someone who could not go to school and ended up as wheelbarrow pusher must sweat himself out to get money; it would take him great energy and time to earn Ten Thousand Naira, but someone who has sharpened his skills and upgraded his mentality may be able to get Ten Million Naira within the same duration of time if not faster.

iii) When you sharpen your mentality, you will see profit and increase in your life
You see profits in life when you sharpen your cutting edge. Mental upgrade will enhance your profitability in life.

iv) When you sharpen your mentality, you increase your favour, opportunities and openings.
One key to assessing favour, opportunities and openings is the sharpening of mentality. The sharper you are, the more favour you get in life.

v) When you sharpen your mentality, you increase your worth in life.
You increase your worth in life by quality training and learning. Your knowledge enhances your worth in life.

Beloved, be determined to sharpen your mentality; train yourself and upgrade life. It is not too late to be trained.

Remember this: When you sharpen your mentality, you increase your worth in life

Assignments:
1. Make up your mind to embark on trainings relevant to your trade, vocation or profession.
2. Never stop learning.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the discipline to go for relevant trainings. I ask for Your help and provision of everything I need to do so, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 9 June, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Doing Good

Topic: Doing Good [DCLM Daily Manna Saturday June 9, 2018]

Text: 1 Timothy 6:13-21 (KJV)

Key Verse: “That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate” (1 Timothy 6:18).

MESSAGE:

A corn of wheat has life in it. The life in the corn of wheat has unlimited possibilities of being multiplied to infinity through continuous sowing. One corn of wheat sown produces seeds that have the potential of turning around the fortunes of a man, family or nation. However, this potential in the corn of wheat is realisable if it fulfils one necessary condition: it must give up its present state and take up another state that would realise its purpose.

The passage under consideration talks about the right attitude to earthly riches, in relation to our service to God and men. Like a corn of wheat, which, though, has the potential to produce abundant seeds, the rich though already seemingly comfortable, is capable of multiplying his riches if they are properly used to please God and bless humanity.

Many have the talent to earn money; yet, do not use it for God’s service and benefit of humankind. Sadly, some rich brethren tend to distance themselves from this hands-on ministry. Wholehearted service to God is shown in our willingness to express a kind gesture of love towards others.

At the same time, poor brethren must never take advantage of the rich brethren or be envious of their wealth. The rich must not be “high- minded” as to separate themselves from the poor folks. All must live in unity to show forth the praise of God.

Thought For The Day: The path of dying to self is the highway to a successful destiny.

Memorise: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; – Ephesians 6:18

Read: 2 Corinthians 6:10-18 (KJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Bible in One Year: 2 Kings 1-2, Acts 8:4-25

MESSAGE:

Today, we are reflecting on the final two components of the armour of God mentioned in our Bible text. These are prayer and supplication, characterised by perseverance. Regardless of the sophisticated weapons available to a soldier, if he or she cannot persevere, these weapons will have little or no effect. Therefore, it is very important to emphasise the attribute of perseverance in the place of prayer and supplication. Imagine what would have become of Daniel’s requests and fasting if he had not persevered in prayers and supplication for 21 days (Daniel 10:2-13).

PRAYER
Prayer is the key with which we unlock the heavenly armoury in order to access divine weapons for our spiritual battles. Our Lord Jesus Christ said something about prayer that many Christians seem to ignore, particularly in spiritual warfare. At the garden of Gethsemane, He gave us this counsel:

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

Even the Almighty God who became man admits here that the flesh is weak. Therefore, to overcome temptation, we need to watch and pray. Adam’s victory would have been glorious if he did not fall into the temptation of the devil. Little wonder when the second Adam came, He took the issue of prayer very seriously and also revealed the importance of prayer to us.

SUPPLICATION
To supplicate is to ask with every sense of humility and not in arrogance like the Pharisee in Luke 18:9-14. Arrogance and a sense of entitlement will not allow some children of God to persevere in the place of prayer. They time God in prayer and command Him to “do it now” or they will quit serving Him! Humility means surrendering to the will of God regardless of your desires and expectations. It is coming to God with trust that He will do what is best for you.

Beloved, the sure armour is Jesus Christ. He is the truth, the righteousness of God in us, the Good News of peace, and the Word of God personified. Our faith in Him earns us salvation. In His Name we receive answers to our prayers. Accept Him and put Him on today, and your victory is guaranteed.

Prayer Point: Father, please fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can have an effective prayer life for total victory over my adversaries.

Hymn 2: I Need Thee Every Hour

1. I Need Thee every hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, Oh, I need Thee,
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh bless me now, my Saviour;
I come to Thee.

2. I need Thee every hour;
Stay Thou near by;
Temptations lose their pow’r
When Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.

4. I need Thee every hour;
Teach me Thy will,
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfil.

5. I need Thee every hour,
Most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.

China Hacked a Navy Contractor and Secured a Trove of Highly Sensitive Data on Submarine Warfare – Urban Christian News

Chinese government hackers have compromised the computers of a Navy contractor, stealing massive amounts of highly sensitive data related to undersea warfare — including secret plans to develop a supersonic anti-ship missile for use on U.S. submarines by 2020, according to American officials.

The breaches occurred in January and February, the officials said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation. The hackers targeted a contractor who works for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, a military organization headquartered in Newport, R.I., that conducts research and development for submarines and underwater weaponry.

The officials did not identify the contractor.

Taken were 614 gigabytes of material relating to a closely held project known as Sea Dragon, as well as signals and sensor data, submarine radio room information relating to cryptographic systems, and the Navy submarine development unit’s electronic warfare library.

The Washington Post agreed to withhold certain details about the compromised missile project at the request of the Navy, which argued that their release could harm national security.

The data stolen was of a highly sensitive nature despite being housed on the contractor’s unclassified network. The officials said the material, when aggregated, could be considered classified, a fact that raises concerns about the Navy’s ability to oversee contractors tasked with developing cutting-edge weapons.

The breach is part of China’s long-running effort to blunt the U.S. advantage in military technology and become the preeminent…
