Every Child of God is advantaged and not disadvantaged. The fact that you are connected to God, gives you an advantage over everyone else that’s walking the streets; you are not ordinary. Therefore, it is your responsibility to leverage on this, maximize your advantage. Far too many believers are walking around confused, depressed, disillusioned and this should not be the case. The Bible tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.

You see the Holy Spirit is our God-given advantage. Beloved, don’t toy with your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Jesus said it is to your advantage that I go because if I don’t, you won’t have the Helper. Therefore, you need the Helper, He gives you the edge over everyone else, He is available to tell you how to go about your business, your job, your family, your finances, your Christian life, He is there to help you be the best you can be in all spheres of endeavour. He was sent into the world to help you, to teach you, to counsel you, that is His assignment.

The help of the Holy Spirit is endless, but how many of us are taking advantage of our Helper? How many of us truly take out time to fellowship with the Holy Spirit? Have you asked Him about how to go about that contract, interview? Have you asked Him to reveal the scriptures to you? I urge you today to take out time to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, leverage on your advantage and change your world.

Topic: Recognize The Real Enemy [Andrew Wommack Wednesday May 30, 2018]

Mark 8:33, “But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.”

Text: Mark 8:30-33

Jesus was not implying that Peter and Satan were one-and-the-same, but was referring to the fact that Satan had inspired Peter’s statement. This type of metaphor was used elsewhere in scripture such as when God spoke to the serpent in the garden of Eden (Gen. 3:15) as though addressing Satan. The serpent was merely the vehicle of communication Satan used to tempt Adam and Eve, while Peter was the vehicle Satan used to tempt Jesus. Ephesians 6:12 reveals that our warfare isn’t with people, but against the spiritual powers who inspire and use people. Jesus recognized that Peter’s reaction to His prophecy about His death was motivated by His enemy, Satan, so He went right to the source.

Every Christian is at war. There is a perpetual struggle against Satan and his kingdom from which there are no “leaves” or “discharges.” Our enemy goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet. 5:8). Those who resist the devil will see him flee (Jas. 4:7).

Some of us believe that anger will put others in their place. But “the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God” (Jas. 1:20). Anger against people makes us play right into the hand of the devil. The way to overcome the spiritual powers that come against us through people is to turn the other cheek (Mt. 5:39). This makes the demons flee in terror. We cannot win a spiritual battle with carnal weapons. We must realize who the real enemy is and fight with the spiritual weapons the Lord has given us. It is supposed by many that the higher echelons of the devil’s spiritual authority take more power to rebuke or remove. That’s not true. There is no demonic power, including the devil himself, that will not flee at the name of Jesus when faith is put in that name. What a wonderful name!

Topic: Tell the Good News [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Wednesday May 30, 2018]

God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. – 2 Corinthians 5:19

Very few unsaved people today have ever really heard the “good news.” Why? Because too many Christians are busy telling the world God is mad at them. And telling them that they’re terrible and wrong. Some call that “good news,” but it’s not, and it’s not what God has commissioned us to share.

He’s given us the “word of reconciliation”!

He’s sent us to tell the news that God has restored harmony and fellowship between Himself and men. All men. Not just believers. Not just the people in your church, but everyone!

That’s right. The worst old reprobate sinner in the world is every bit as reconciled to God as you are. Look at Romans 5:10 and you’ll see what I mean. It says that “when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son.”

Reconciled. That word is past tense. God has already restored fellowship between Himself and the world. He did it when there was not one person on earth except Jesus who believed in the new birth. He did it when the entire world was lying in sin.

Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God has cleansed and forgiven and restored to Himself every man, woman and child on the face of this earth. All any of us have to do now is receive it.

That’s the good word God has given us. That’s the word we need to share with those who are lost. If we’ll do it, I can almost guarantee you, they won’t stay lost very long.

Not long ago I sent my wife, Cari, a text message using only voice prompts. I was on my way out the door to give her a ride home from work and intended to send the words, “Where would you like me to pick you up, old gal?”

Cari doesn’t mind my calling her “old gal”—it’s one of the affectionate nicknames we use around the house. But my cell phone didn’t “understand” the phrase, and sent the words “old cow” instead.

Fortunately for me, Cari immediately understood what had happened and found it funny. She later posted my text message on social media and asked, “Should I be offended?” We were both able to laugh about it.

My wife’s loving response to my awkward words that day makes me think about God’s loving understanding of our prayers. We may not know what to say when we pray or even what to ask for, but when we belong to Christ, His Spirit within “intercedes for us through wordless groans” (Romans 8:26) and lovingly helps us articulate our deepest needs before Him.

Our heavenly Father doesn’t stand at a distance waiting for us to get our words right. We can come to Him with every need, assured that He understands and receives us with love.

Abba, Father, thank You that I can come to You without fear of having to get my words just right. Help me to keep company with You today.

God’s love is beyond words.

Topic: The Value Of Spirituality [Seeds of Destiny Wednesday May 30, 2018]

Scripture: Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:28.

Thought For The Day: Spirituality without responsibility is insincerity.

Spirituality is an indispensable necessity for life and destiny. The greatest need of anyone is the need for true spirituality. The most essential needs of man are spiritual needs. When the spiritual is handled, the natural follows. Therefore, a person must give crucial attention to his/her spirituality more than all other things in life.

Now, let me give three things that spirituality would produce in the life of a person:
i) Spirituality is doorway to responsibility
Every true spiritual person is a responsible person. A spiritual husband, father, employee or employer is a responsible person. To know God well is to do things well. Nothing refines character like spirituality. The closer we get to God, the more like Him we become (2 Corinthians 3:18). Spirituality without responsibility is insincerity.

ii) Spirituality sharpens mentality
The closer to God we are, the more like Him we think. No one can be closely related to the Almighty God and behave like a fool. Distance from God is distance from sense; disconnection from God is impartation of stupidity.

iii) Spirituality is doorway to reliability
The closer people get to God, the more reliable they become in their character (Daniel 6:3). So, the limit of spirituality is the limit of reliability, and reliability is foundation for authority. Your spirituality will provoke your reliability and your reliability will establish your blessing.

Beloved, my counsel is, develop your spiritual roots in God and let it reflect in the way you live.

Remember this: Spirituality without responsibility is insincerity.

Assignments:
1. Decide to maintain a life of high spirituality.
2. Endeavour to always accept responsibility.
3. Be reliable in everything you do.
4. Approach life with a solid mentality.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace for quality spirituality. Help me, to be responsible and reliable in everything I do, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

MESSAGE:

Distractions, little as they may seem, are very dangerous. Sometimes distractions come from people around us, sometimes they come from the devil and sometimes we cause distractions for ourselves. When you are reading your books, and your phone beeps to signal you that someone just commented on your Facebook post, then you pick up your phone to read the comment and for the next 30 minutes, you are still on Facebook, then you have distracted your own self. Next time when you want to read, put your phone in silent or airplane mode, then you will not be distracted by it again.

Sometimes it is the devil that brings thoughts to your mind while you are praying, studying your Bible or even reading your books. He could just bring a thought to your mind and for the next thirty minutes, you stop that important thing you are doing and concentrate on that thought. Next time when such thought come, say to the devil with determination; “get thee behind me Satan” and he will go. Texting while walking on the road or driving is a distraction that can lead to an accident; chatting in the middle of a class is a distraction that can lead to failure. Don’t be distracted.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus Christ, keep my heart pure and free from distractions. Help me to be focused on my eternal destination.

Topic: Not For Jews Only [DCLM Daily Manna Wednesday May 30, 2018]

Text: Jonah 3:1-10 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not” (Jonah 3:10).

MESSAGE:

Among the enduring lessons God reveals in Prophet Jonah’s dramatic missionary work to Nineveh is the eternally soothing message that God loves all humanity and He is always ready to receive the truly penitent sinner. True, He did set apart the children of Israel whom He loved and made a point of contact to the rest of the world. But in sending Jonah to warn the heathen and wicked people of Nineveh of impending judgment, He proved that the message of love and forgiveness is for all and not for the Jews only.

Assyria was always a threat to Israel and Jonah was glad God would now judge the country. His position was however contrary to the stand of God, “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).

God overruled Jonah and compelled the runaway and disobedient prophet to head for Nineveh. Even at Nineveh, Jonah gave a one-sided view of God, talking of judgment without mercy. It was not a complete picture of the benevolent Almighty. Yes, He would judge the sinner; but He allows room for repentance. So, God used Jonah’s halfway message to turn the hearts of the Ninevites to repent and receive pardon.

Preachers must not introduce personal prejudices into God’s sublime teachings of love and mercy for the wicked who repents genuinely. Jonah himself was a beneficiary of God’s mercy. If God had left him in his rebellion, he would have met with irrecoverable calamity. Believers should not expect God to leave the ignorant sinners on their own to await divine judgment. Christ died for all. He is ready to receive as many as accept His salvation plan when they hear the gospel from us. We must not carry out the Great Commission with bias or prejudice.

Thought For The Day: Never say no to God when He sends you to the sinner.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

Bible in One Year: 1 Kings 8, Acts 2: 29-47

MESSAGE:

Mercy is an attitude of compassion, care and concern, grounded in love and sympathy towards others. It is God’s nature that is fundamental to His interaction with His creation. As one of God’s attributes, mercy is also a key character He demands from His people. Our compassion towards others as Christians is usually activated by God’s compassion for people. It is expected that those who received mercy from God would respond to human suffering with much concern and work to ameliorate this suffering. Apostle Paul recognized that his conversion from a life of rebellion against God and his subsequent call to the ministry was a product of God’s mercy. Here is his testimony in 1 Timothy 1:13:

“Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.”

For this reason, he had so much passion to propagate God’s mercy to others through the gospel of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:15-20). In today’s Bible reading, a servant who owed ten thousand talents was pardoned by his master, but as soon as he left the presence of his master, he met a fellow servant who owed him a hundred pence. He exacted the full force of his power on this poor fellow servant without mercy, casting him into prison. When this matter got to his master, in Matthew 18:33, his master simply asked him:

“Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?”

This clearly indicates to us that we are beneficiaries of the great mercy of God so that we also can become dispensers of this same mercy to all those who come in contact with us.

Apostle Paul valued his conversion as a product of great mercy, so much so that he spoke about mercy more than any individual in the Bible. His messages, interactions with people and handling of situations were based on the backdrop of God’s mercy. God’s people who are beneficiaries of His great mercy are expected to be channels of divine mercy in the church and in the world. That is the reason why in Jesus’ teachings about the kingdom of God, He presents mercy as a primary characteristic of God’s kind of life and as a demonstration of His sovereignty. The power of love embedded in the message of the gospel speaks of God’s mercy, while transforming the lives of men by destroying the works of the devil demonstrates this mercy. Mercy ultimately leads to hunger for souls and to handling the people of God with tender care.

Prayer Point: Father, please fill my heart with Your tender mercy and a hunger for souls in Jesus’ Name.
