In a statement issued by the Patriarchates of Antioch and all the East for the Greek Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox, and Greek-Melkite Catholic Damascus, the faith leaders questioned the legality behind the move.
They stated that the “brutal aggression” is a “clear violation of the international laws and the UN Charter”, and was an “unjustified assault” on a sovereign country that is a member of the United Nations.
“It causes us great pain that this assault comes from powerful countries to which Syria did not cause any harm in any way,” the church leaders added.
“The allegations of the USA and other countries that the Syrian army is using chemical weapons and that Syria is a country that owns and uses this kind of weapon, is a claim that is unjustified and unsupported by sufficient and clear evidence.
“This brutal aggression destroys the chances for a peaceful political solution and leads to escalation and more complications.”
Prime Minister Theresa May has insisted there was no alternative to the air-strikes, following a chemical weapons attack in Douma last week that killed 75 people, including children.
She’s being urged to consult Parliament first, if there are any further changes to how the UK deals with Syria.

Kristan Ann Ware, 27, who quit the Miami Dolphins’ after three years, said she felt forced to after a 2016 interview with the team director where her sexual history was discussed.
Speaking to the BBC, she explained why she submitted her complaint to the Florida Commission on Human Relations.
“I am not against them. I just want to make it a better place for the cheerleaders,” she said.
She said the bullying began after an incident on a coach in London took place in 2015.
Ms Ware claimed after her team played the New York Jets at Wembley Stadium, the dancers talked about their “sex playlist”.
Her complaint states she “”was pushed to give her playlist,” which prompted her to admit she was a virgin.
Her lawyer Sara Blackwell said: “Kristan told her teammates that she was waiting until she was married because of her personal relationship with God.”
Ms Ware alleges the team director, Dorie Grogan, confronted her about the claim during a yearly performance review and was told not to discuss her virginity at all in the future.
As part of her claim, Ms Ware also argues the team’s Instagram account did not promote any of her posts that mentioned her Christian faith and a story she wrote for the Dolphins’ blog had all her references to God and Christ edited out.

Topic: God Has Already Done It [TREM’s Devotional Sunday April 15, 2018]
“Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119.89 KJV
Beloved, you are called to believe what God said. Believe, don’t try to understand. God’s instructions are not meant to be understood, they are meant to be believed. Each time you are reading God’s promises, He is not telling you what He wants to do. Rather, He is telling you what He has already done. Everything you need is already packaged. Your healing is already packaged. Your breakthrough is already packaged. The question is can you believe? Who has believed our report and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? (Isaiah 53:1) It is whosoever believes the report that will see the arm of God.
In Joshua 6:1, the scripture says, “Jericho was straightly shut because of the children of Israel, none went in and none went out”. Jericho was shut down to ensure that the Israelites didn’t take hold of God’s promise to them. Jericho was the city that they had to conquer, on the road to possessing their inheritance. “And the Lord said unto Joshua; See I have given into thine hand, Jericho…” (Joshua 6:2 KJV). Notice that God didn’t say “I will give”, He said, “I have given into thine hands Jericho”. In other words, it is already done.
Yes, the walls of Jericho are so thick that vehicles can drive on them, but it is already done. You cannot penetrate the walls, but Jehovah said I have given it to you and you are not going to fire a shot. You only have to go around it once a day for six days and on the seventh day, blow the trumpet. That was not conventional! How do you handle that? The enemies are all on the walls with their bows and arrows and machetes and you are telling me that I should just keep on going around. It requires believing to receive and run with such instructions.
Be determined today to believe and run with every instruction. It is already done. Just believe and receive. Your destiny will not be aborted.

MESSAGE:
I know that when fasting is mentioned among teenagers, you try to cover your ears, or even say that your parents are fasting on your behalf. But nobody can fast for you; they can pray for you, but they cannot fast for you. When someone fasts, the benefits of fasting comes to them and not someone else. Don’t mind those fake prophets that say they can fast for people, they are all liars. One major benefit of fasting is that it recharges your spiritual batteries. When you fast, you become more spiritually alert, you can connect better to the Spirit of God. Because of this connection, it is easier for you to know God’s mind concerning issues and for you to receive answers to your prayers too
Fasting also has immense health benefits. The body works non-stop to breakdown the food we take in. If we keep loading the body with food at every meal time, it won’t be able to break it all down, and it will be overworked, so that when there is a battle to sickness, it is too weak to fight against it. I am an old man now, and the reason I am still as strong and healthy as I am is because of God’s grace and the fact that I fast regularly.
Action Point: Set aside a day every week to fast and pray.

Thought For The Day: Until you can change yourself, there is nothing you can change.
It has been confirmed that God did not create anyone to be a waste in life. No one was created by God to be irrelevant. However, there are enemies of destiny that have the capacity to waste people’s lives on earth and make them useless. And because there is no spare life, it is important for us to make up our minds to eliminate any such enemy that can wreck our lives and destinies.
Now, one of such deadly enemies is lack of self-control.
Please note the following key thoughts on discipline and self-control:
i) There can be no destiny fulfilment without discipline
Esau lacked the discipline to control his appetite, and consequently lost his covenant destiny. He could not say, NO to his stomach, and as a result, he ruined his life.
ii) If you cannot control yourself, you can never control your destiny
If you cannot control yourself when it has to do with anger, immorality, lust, food, sleep, etc., you will never be able to control your destiny. Until you can change yourself, there is nothing you can change.
iii) Self-control is a product of mind control
If you cannot control what goes into your mind, you will never be able to control what flows through your life and consequently, you will never be able to control your destiny.
Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind that your life will not be controlled by the flesh. Wake up when you need to wake up. The devil will not respect you when you do not respect your own word.
Remember this: Until you can change yourself, there is nothing you can change.
Assignments:
1. Decide to control your mind and the flow of thoughts within you.
2. Deliberately respect your will, decisions and resolutions.
3. Bring your flesh under the power of self-control.
Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to put my mind under control. Help me to bring all the activities of my life under the control and discipline of the Holy Spirit, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Text: Jonah 2:1-10 (KJV)
Key Verse: ”But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD” (Jonah 2:9).
MESSAGE:
Ninety-nine percent of failure comes from people who have a habit of making excuses. Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do what they ought to do when all they really need is one reason why they can. Jonah was a disobedient prophet whom God sent to Nineveh to warn the people of their sinful ways and God’s imminent judgment. Jonah instead fled to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
By the reason of his affliction, Jonah acknowledged the Lord, promised to praise Him with his voice and pay his vows. He confirmed that salvation is of the Lord.
Jesus Christ is the central focus of human history. Before His birth, all dates are BC and after His death, all dates are AD. He is both the Son of God (fully Deity) and the Son of man (fully Human). He is our Saviour and Substitute. Without Jesus, life is as the twilight with the dark night ahead. But with Christ, it is the dawn of morning with the light and warmth of full day.
The desire of God since the fall of man at Eden is repentance from sin. Jesus, our Saviour and Substitute, is the only medium of salvation. Have you received His forgiveness for your sins? If you have, extend it to your relatives, friends, neighbours and community. Soul-winning is every believer’s ministry which we should not shy away from. You are saved to serve. Delay no further: let others know that salvation is of the Lord. Learn the prime lesson that Jonah did not fully learn: reach out to sinful souls, irrespective of creed or colour.
Thought For The Day: The living Jesus is the proof of God’s love and forgiveness.

MEMORY VERSE:

The MESSAGE:
A decree was passed in Babylon stating that petitions should not be made to any god or man except the king. This counsel was given to the king by his advisers who wanted to get rid of Daniel because of their hot jealousy towards him, having observed that Daniel was a man who made petitions to his God day and night. The penalty of disobedience to this decree was death by the mouth of the Lions. Daniel knowing this, went ahead to make petitions to his God daily as was his usual custom.
With the treat of death looming over him, Daniel stood unwavering in his custom of prayer, being fully aware of the consequences. Daniel did not attain this level of faith in God in a day. From his youth, Daniel had daily engaged himself in the principle of prayer. He disciplined himself to daily fellowship with the Almighty God. In that place of communion, God made Himself known to Daniel and showed him secret things. This built up faith in Daniel, he knew his God and he came into that knowledge by constant communion. We find this same manner in the life of Jesus Christ. Jesus always went apart from the multitude to a secret place to pray, communing with the Father. This communion with the Father was obviously the secret of the victorious life He lived. Before His death, Jesus laboured in prayer at Gethsemane, communing with God and receiving strength from Him. This made Him stand unwavering in the face of death of the cross, paying the ultimate sacrifice for us all.
We live in a world where evil is all around us. Death presents itself to us in many forms. Without prayer you can’t live a victorious Christian life. Prayer is a necessity in the times we live in. Prayer should be deliberate, consistent and fervent. God instructs us to pray without ceasing. Nevertheless, it should not be seen as a religious rite. Prayer should be seen as a means of communion with God. Make prayer your lifestyle.
