The teenage asylum seeker responsible has been jailed for at least 34 years for planting the Parsons Green Tube bomb which injured 51 passengers.
Ahmed Hassan pretended to engage with the anti-terrorism Prevent scheme as he plotted mass murder in the capital last September.
On the tube at the time was Rev Rob Pickering from Selhurst Church in Croydon who left his home earlier than usual to go to Fulham from Wimbledon with a church elder.
Speaking to Premier, Pickering described the moment the bomb went off: “There was a very strange chemical smell that filled the air just micro-moments before a very large and loud explosion. It was a deep, bass-like boom that filled the carriage.
“It echoed from the carriage and that was almost simultaneously accompanied by a loud cries and screams and really just a mass panic.”
Rob Pickering was about 15 feet away from the package: “I was facing towards the bomb…it had been placed on the floor there in the door way…I saw the fireball sort of ripping towards us – I immediately knew my life was in danger.”
Describing what it was like after the bomb went off, he said: “I felt as though impending doom was fast approaching and there we were, in a sense standing toe to toe with death.”
Rob had done two training courses with the Met police about what to do in a terror attack, which prompted him to speak to a TfL member of staff about evacuating the station.

Police in France said three people have been killed and around a dozen injured during a terrorist attack in the south of France.
A gunman – who’d pledged allegiance to Islamic State – hijacked a car and took hostages at a supermarket, before being shot dead in a police raid.
Elizabeth, who is the wife of a pastor of a church ten minutes’ drive away from Trèbes, told Premier the news was shocking.
“We’re safe anywhere if it’s not yet our time. But these things can happen anywhere and we just need to trust that God can look after us if it’s not yet our time. It’s a reminder that life is precious and people need the Gospel.”
Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said all information suggested it “seems to be a terrorist act”.
France has been on high alert since a string of Islamic extremist attacks in 2015 and 2016 that killed more than 200 people.
The attacker first fired six shots at police officers who were on their way back from jogging near the city of Carcassonne on Friday morning, said Yves Lefebvre, secretary general of the SGP Police-FO police union.
One police officer had a shoulder injury but it was not serious, Mr Lefebvre said.
The suspect then went to a Super U supermarket in the nearby small town of Trèbes, about 60 miles south east of Toulouse.
Special police units were sent to the scene and local authorities have blocked roads and urged residents to stay away.

It is the goal of Christian life to do as Jesus did and live like Jesus lived, and this week, Mario Lopez took that seriously. The American television host and actor (from shows such as Saved by the Bell, Extra, and The X Factor) was baptized in the Jordan River, the same place Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. The account of John baptizing Jesus can be found in Matthew 3:13-17.
“We are at the Jordan River where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. I’m about to get baptized,” Lopez, 44, said in Entertainment Weekly’s recent article on the baptism. “It’s a beautiful day. There’s a really cool Catholic priest that’s gonna do me the honors. And there’s a sermon going on right now. So I’m going to join these fine folks and then, bam! It’s on!”

Lopez was raised in a large Catholic family, and his baptism was performed by two Catholic priests. In the video Lopez shared of the ceremony, the priests asked several questions such as “Do you believe in Jesus Christ?” and “Do you intend to serve him all your life?” to which Lopez answered emphatically, “Yes, I do.”

Bill Hybels, founder and senior pastor of the multi-campus Willow Creek Community Church, has denied multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, including a consensual affair with a married woman, who retracted her claims. Investigations commissioned by the church also could not substantiate the allegations.
In an extensive investigation of the allegations published by the Chicago Tribune on Thursday night, former members of the church, including those who resigned from high-level leadership positions, argue that the church’s investigations have been deficient. The Tribune report also alleges a pattern of behavior against Hybels that includes suggestive comments, extended hugs, an unwanted kiss, and invitations to hotel rooms.
“This is one of the most heartbreaking and frustrating things I’ve ever experienced—for me, for my family, for our church family,” Hybels said in a statement provided by Willow Creek addressing the alleged consensual affair which was first reported to Willow Creek elders in April 2014.

No evangelical pastor in America has been more influential in my lifetime than Bill Hybels.
In 1975, he founded the Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, now one of the largest congregations in America. The Willow Creek Association he launched has become a global network of strategic pastors, churches, and ministries. His name has been synonymous with vision, leadership, evangelism, and integrity.
Now he has been accused of a pattern of sexual harassment and misconduct by former church leaders.
Christianity Today is reporting that John and Nancy Ortberg, former teaching pastors at the church and very well-known ministers and best-selling authors, are among the group asking that accusations against Hybels be investigated. Leanne Mellado, a former Willow Creek staff member who is married to the former head of the Willow Creek Association, is also in the group, as are several others.
Hybels completely denies all accusations, stating clearly that “all charges against me are false” and calling them “lies.” Willow Creek’s elder board conducted a “thorough and independent investigation” into Hybels’s conduct and cleared him of all charges. The board is accusing Hybels’s critics of making a “coordinated effort to undermine Bill’s reputation.”
Church leaders have sent an email to the entire membership describing the allegations as “false” and calling a “church family meeting” tonight, during which Hybels and the elders will directly address the accusations in the story.
This story will likely make headlines around the world. You may be asked about it by friends and colleagues this weekend and at church. If you’re a pastor or Bible study leader, you may feel the need to address the issue as well.
In that context, I would like to suggest four biblical responses.
