Alex McFarland’s Apologetics Conference to Focus on Saving America

(Photo: Facebook/Truth for a New Generation)An ad for the March 23-24 2018 apologetics conference “Truth for a New Generation.”

Notable apologist and author Alex McFarland’s latest Truth for a New Generation conference will have a focus on saving the United States and its constitutional rights.

“We are losing our freedoms, we’re actually suffering as a nation because of our abandonment of morality or what we might call natural law,” McFarland told The Christian Post.

“I believe that our abandonment of morality in terms of abortion, the redefinition of marriage, the blurring of gender and sexual truth, it really threatens our Constitution.”

Begun by McFarland back in the 1990s, Truth for a New Generation will kick off its next conference at Life Community Church in Jamestown, North Carolina, on Friday.

McFarland noted that the chief purpose of the conference remains evangelism and equipping believers to intellectually defend the faith. He stressed that “without a return to morality and God, we stand to lose our Constitution.”

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Partnering with SiriusXM to Stream Graham’s Easter Messages

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Partnering with SiriusXM to Stream Graham’s Easter Messages

SiriusXM radio will be airing the messages of the Rev. Billy Graham this Easter season.

According to The Christian Post, SiriusXM launched “The Billy Graham Channel” on Monday and will continue to host Graham’s messages through April 4, three days after Easter.

Graham, who recently passed away on Feb. 21, preached thousands of sermons to millions of people throughout his lifetime. The sermons, which will be featured on “The Billy Graham Channel,” will focus on Graham’s messages about Easter and the death and resurrection of Christ.

“In addition to the catalog of Graham’s inspirational messages and sermons, ‘The Billy Graham Channel’ will also include reflections on Easter from Billy Graham’s son, Franklin Graham, who serves as president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association,” the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association said in a statement.

The BGEA added that this is the third time they have collaborated with SiriusXM and they are happy to partner with them again.

“Billy Graham preached this Good News, and now, the life-changing power of that news lives on through his messages. This SiriusXM channel will give listeners hope, one message at a time,” noted Jim Kirkland, executive director of Audio Media at the BGEA.

Franklin Graham also promoted the messages on his Facebook account:

“Be sure to check it out — and…

Survey: Protestant Church Diversity ‘Heading in the Right Direction’

Survey: Protestant Church Diversity ‘Heading in the Right Direction’

More than 4 in 5 Protestant pastors say their congregations are predominantly made up of one racial or ethnic group.

That 81 percent figure is high, but it’s not as high as it was four years ago, according to a study published Tuesday (March 20) by LifeWay Research.

It was 86 percent in a similar survey of both mainline and evangelical churches by LifeWay in 2013.

Being Born Again, Giving Heart to Jesus Doesn’t Greatly Increase Church Attendance: Research

(Photo: Harvest America)People worship at Harvest America at the University of Phoenix Stadium on June 11, 2017.

A university instructor, who has been conducting research on church attendance in America, has found that people who become born-again Christians do not start going to services significantly more often than before.

Ryan P. Burge, who teaches American institutions, public administration, and international relations at Eastern Illinois University, studied various data from the Cooperative Congressional Election Study panel that was conducted in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

Burge outlined some of his major findings in a blog post on Monday, and found that there was little movement among Protestants or Catholics across the four-year time period, with nine in 10 maintaining their membership.

The instructor pointed out that the various denominations in America enjoyed a relatively stable level of attendance in the studied period.

“Of the 9,500 individuals to take part in the panel study, a staggering 62 percent reported the same level of attendance in 2014 as they did in 2010,” Burge wrote.

“Attendance is highly stable, but the number of people who are attending with less regularity is nearly 10 percent more of the population than those who are attending church more…
