Pastor John Hagee Dedicates State-of-the-Art Home to Expectant Mothers in Crisis: ‘Help Is Mandated’

Megachurch Pastor John Hagee of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, has officially dedicated a new state-of-the-art facility to expectant mothers in crisis so that they and their children can have a safe space to build a “strong foundation for a fulfilling life.”

John Hagee Ministries announced on Monday that building work on the Sanctuary of Hope, set to open in May, has nearly been completed a year after the Christian ministry first broke ground on the facility.

“I’m very proud that we are able to so quickly begin offering these services just a little more than one year after we first started building the main facility. Christians are mandated to help their neighbors in need; the Sanctuary of Hope will do just that by providing women in crisis with an opportunity to build prosperous, loving lives,” Hagee said, revealing that the facility is a life-long dream of his.

While the building will first house 24 expectant mothers and 24 additional mothers with their newborn children, in the long-term it is looking to care for a total of 300 residents at a time.

Besides providing a home, the sanctuary will also offer on-site medical care, parental training, counseling,…

Atheist Stephen Hawking helped believers see God’s wonder in creation, Christian scientists say

Most Rev Justin Welby praised the renowned physicist, who described himself as an atheist, for a contribution to science which was “as limitless as the universe he devoted his life to understanding”.

Dr Ard Louis who attended Cambridge University with Stephen Hawking said he helped believers better understand the complexity of God’s creation.

The professor of theoretical physics told Premier: “Professor Hawking did us, as Christians, a favour because he pointed out some of the amazing beauty and intricacy of the world.”

According to his family, the British scientist died peacefully at his home in Cambridge in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Stephen Hawking was initially given only a couple of years to live after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in his early 20s.

Responding to the news of Hawking’s death, cosmology expert and Christian Dr Rodney Holder expressed hope his views on God changed at the end of his life.

The author of the book God, Time, & Stephen Hawking told Premier: “We are seeing the passing of a great man.

“I hope that perhaps in his dying moments he maybe saw the light that this great universe that he was exploring was actually a creation of a most wonderful God.”

Mission hospital wall bulldozed in land dispute

Up to 60 people gathered and used a bulldozer to tear down a boundary wall of the 44-year-old Pushpa Mission Hospital in Ujjain, Asian news site Ucanews reported.

The hospital director, Fr Anthony Pulickamandapam said: “Our staff, including Catholic nuns, who attempted to resist the advance were manhandled and forced to flee for safety.

“They also destroyed the backup power generator and disconnected the water supply, putting the lives of nearly 200 patients – including 12 in the intensive care unit – in serious danger.”

He said the hospital faced trouble since January after Gagan Singh, the personal assistant of a local legislator, staked a claim for the hospital grounds.

However, Fr Pulickamandapam insists the land in front of the hospital was gifted by the local civic body for use as a parking area and to maintain its vegetation.

He said tensions peaked just two days after church authorities sought an order to be able to keep functioning as a hospital while the police investigation and hearing went on.

Bishop Sebastian Vadakel of Ujjain told Ucanews that the local police station and other senior officials refused to respond to calls for help.

“Even our staff nurses, who approached the women’s police station to lodge a complaint, were turned away,” he said.

A Catholic delegation led by Bishop Vadakel has since met Governor Anandiben Patel, who was visiting the town, to call for the protection for Christians…

Four Pressing Reasons Your Pastor Needs Your Prayers

Four Pressing Reasons Your Pastor Needs Your Prayers

  1. Pastors’ families are falling apart
  2. The demise of cultural Christianity has brought new pressures
  3. Your pastor must preach a fresh word from God every week
  4. The expectations of omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence

Some highlights from today’s Rainer Report:

  • When we accomplish powerful things, it’s not by our power, but by God’s.
  • When a pastor’s family suffers, the pastor’s ministry suffers.
  • Sermons and sermon prep should be bathed in prayer.
  • Attempting to meet all the demands of church members can lead to pastor burnout.

Why Billy Graham’s greatest fear should be ours

Thousands of students, teachers, and supporters plan to walk out of schools today. Their action is intended as a memorial to those killed in the Parkland shooting and a call for stricter gun control laws.

In other news, world-famous physicist Stephen Hawking has passed away. President Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. And absentee ballots are still being counted in a much-watched special election in Pennsylvania, though NBC News has declared Democrat Conor Lamb the apparent winner.

Any of these events are worthy of a Daily Article. But my attention has been drawn to a story few reporters are still following today. I’ll explain why.

“What was most surprising to us”

It’s been three weeks since Billy Graham died. In this time, there have been hundreds if not thousands of retrospectives published on “America’s Pastor.”

The most interesting one I have seen is an interview with Nancy Gibbs, one of America’s most perceptive journalists and former editor-in-chief of Time magazine. After reading her comments on the famous evangelist, I knew I needed to discuss them with you.

When Gibbs and her co-author met Dr. Graham for the first time, “What was most surprising to us . . . was how completely disarming he was. We were struck by his humility, the gentleness, the quiet, confident grace. He seemed perhaps the most unguarded man I’ve ever interviewed.” For Nancy Gibbs, that’s a remarkable statement.

What explains Dr. Graham’s humility and integrity? Here was his greatest fear: “That I’ll do something or say something that will bring some disrepute on the gospel of Christ before I go.”

If we want our lives to impact our culture, we must make Billy Graham’s greatest fear ours as well.

“That the fear of him may be before you”

After God revealed himself at Mt. Sinai, “the people were afraid and trembled, and they stood far off and said to Moses, ‘You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to…

WhatsApp Messages Can Now Be Deleted an Hour After They Were Sent

Reuters/Dado RuvicA man poses with a smartphone in front of displayed Whatsapp logo in this illustration September 14, 2017.

WhatsApp quietly changed its settings so that users can now delete messages up to an hour after they were sent.

WABetaInfo was first to notice that the creators of the messaging application changed the time limit for erasing sent messages from seven minutes to one hour, eight minutes and 16 seconds.

For iPhones, the change came with iOS update 2.18.31. WhatsApp has yet to comment why it gave such a specific timing for the “Delete for everyone” option in the app. An hour, however, means that users will have more time to delete messages. In group chats, this could even mean that users can delete a whole batch of conversations that have not yet been seen by other members.

It should be noted that unlike Viber and other similar apps, WhatsApp currently does not have a secret conversation option, where conversations are not on the devices of both the sender and the recipient. Having this longer period of option to delete messages somehow helps WhatsApp have a more temporary conversation.

The “Delete for everyone” and “Delete for me” options were first introduced to WhatsApp in October. At that time, messages that were sent by mistake could only be deleted up to seven minutes after the user pressed the sent button.

Apart from the extended time in…

Holy Week 2018 Begins on March 25; Christians Encouraged to Join Pope Francis

Reuters/Kai PfaffenbachMembers of the Italian community take part in a re-enactment of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Good Friday in Bensheim, southwest of Frankfurt.

This year, Holy Week begins on the last week of March. Meanwhile, Christians are encouraged to join Pope Francis for the Holy Week.

The beginning of Holy Week is initiated with Palm Sunday, which falls on March 25 this year. Days after, the Holy Week ends on Easter Sunday, which, this year, happens on March 31.

Christians all over the world have different ways of commemorating the Holy Week. There are some who attend mass, conduct novenas, while some even fast through the entire week.

But the Vatican encourages everyone to join them in observing the Holy Week, as they released Pope Francis’ liturgical schedule way ahead of time.

For the Holy Week, Pope Francis will hold mass in St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City for Palm Sunday, Crux confirmed.

On Holy Thursday, March 29, Pope Francis will have the morning Chrism Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica.

The day after, which is Good Friday, the Pope will conduct the liturgy of the Lord’s Passion in the afternoon also in the Basilica. It will be followed by a Nighttime Way of the Cross to be held at Rome’s Colosseum.

To end the Holy Week, Pope Francis will hold the…
