That’s the hope of “Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki, who played Leonard, who’s taken his talents behind the camera to be the executive producer of the CBS comedy for a show about a man who decides to repent and live strictly by the Bible.

Galecki, 42, who grew up Catholic, told journalists at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour why it was so important to him to create a show that was centred around faith.

“I recognized that these conversations [about religion] weren’t being had despite the fact that… 80 per cent of people in the world subscribe their lives to some sort of spiritual belief,” he said.

“One of the biggest hurdles is the fear to have the conversation about [religion]… The best way to approach [a topic] that people may be uncomfortable with is with comedy.”

The show’s creator Patrick Walsh said a priest and a rabbi read every draft of the scripts to ensure they were both accurate and respectful of scripture.

Both Christians and people of other and no faiths took to Twitter to review the show.

One Twitter user tweeted: “Found my new favorite comedy. I’m an atheist and the priest cracks me up!!!”

The research entitled Faith and a Future by Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), focused on how children from religious minorities in Burma, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria and Pakistan are treated.

It found that despite a child’s right to freedom of religion or belief under international law, students still face verbal, psychological and even physical abuse from students and teachers. It revealed that in some cases are subject to a biased curriculum that fuels religious hatred.

Cecil Chaudhry Jr, Executive Director of the National Commission for Justice and Peace in Pakistan told Premier religious discrimination is impacting many Christian students.

He said: “We do not have the right to study our own religion in school, whereas Muslims do have Islamic studies as a compulsory subject.

“We are given the option of taking up ethics as a replacement to Islamic studies which often you don’t find that provision because most of the schools don’t have a teacher to teach ethics.”

CSW said perhaps the most extreme example of biased education occurs in Na Ta La schools in Burma, where Christian children from ethnic states are regularly forcibly converted.

Chaudhry added: “There has been hate material that has creeped into our textbooks that is biased towards different faiths, and that all creates an environment of religious intolerance…

Around 40 pieces of rare ecclesiastical fashion will be displayed at the upcoming Costume Institute exhibition – many of which have never left the Vatican before.

Pieces include a papal tiara with 18,000 diamonds and items worn by Pope Benedict 14th in the 1600s, according to The Guardian.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted a press presentation in Rome on Monday, lead by curator Andrew Bolton.

He was joined by American Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, who is also a trustee of the museum.

Speaking about the exhibition, Wintour said “I want [red-carpet guests] to understand the importance of the exhibition. “Of course the party is always fun and it’s great to see what everyone is wearing, but [it serves] to put the spotlight on the exhibition.

But this isn’t the first time attendees of the Met Gala have seen Vatican pieces on display.

The Vatican last lent pieces to the Met for The Vatican Collections exhibit in 1983.
