UN Ambassador Nikki Haley recently was on CNN to talk about the Trump administration’s decision to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

RedState.com reports that Haley was interviewed by CNN’s Jake Tapper who started off the interview by quoting from a statement from the Arab League criticizing the decision:

“Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a dangerous development that places the United States at a position of bias in favor of the occupation and the violation of international law and resolutions,” read the statement.

Haley then responded:

“This basically says that the United States acknowledges that the capital of Israel is Jerusalem, and saying also that the embassy is going to be moved to the capital, just like it is in almost every other country.

In Israel, in Jerusalem, you have got the Parliament, you have got the president, you have got the prime minister, you have got the Supreme Court. So, why shouldn’t we have the embassy there?”

Haley went on to say that “for 22 years, you have had presidents and the American people ask for the embassy to be moved. And no president, not — not Clinton, not Bush, not Obama, actually made — had the courage to make that move and listen to the will of the American people.”

The annual Night to Shine prom, hosted by the Tim Tebow Foundation, will take place at hundreds of locations around the world tonight (Feb. 9).

“Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 9, 2018, more than 540 churches from around the world will come together to host Night to Shine for approximately 90,000 honored guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers!” according to the Tim Tebow Foundation website.

Christian athlete Tim Tebow will himself attend several of the Night to Shine prom’s. The committed Christian who is currently pursuing a baseball career with a New York Mets’ minor league team, said Night to Shine is “one of the best nights of my life.”

Tebow, whose mother was encouraged to abort him due to complications with her pregnancy, has a particular love for special needs children.

His Tim Tebow CURE Hospital in the Philippines also serves children with special needs by providing them with necessary medical care.

“It’s my favorite night of the year and we get to change so many lives,” Tebow said, as reported by FoxNews.com. “Honestly, it’s not just the night of their life where they get to dance, and they get to have fun. They get to ride in limos, they get to walk down red carpets.

The 2018 Winter Olympic Games officially begin this evening with an opening ceremony in PyeongChang, South Korea. While athletes from around the world are excitedly waiting for their time to shine, many Russian athletes will be absent.

As ChristianHeadlines.com previously reported, the Court of Arbitration for Sport of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) banned the Russian Olympic team due to doping among the athletes.

“In Sochi in 2014, the Russian sports ministry ‘tampered with more than 100 urine samples to conceal evidence of top athletes’ steroid use throughout the course of competition.’ As a result, some Russian athletes have recently been disqualified from the 2014 games. After Olympic officials finish working through the corrected results, they will award medals to ‘retroactive winners from Sochi.’”

Russian athletes who have not violated the anti-doping policy were allowed to appeal this ban, but, as The New York Times reports, their appeals were denied right before the Games are about to begin.

“This Panel is faced with evaluating an unprecedented response to an extraordinary situation, that is, a state-sponsored doping scheme,” the IOC panel said.

Forty-seven Russian athletes participated in the appeal. Russia, however, continues to deny that any of its athletes were doping.
