Topic: Commitment To Your Spouse (4)
Dear Reader,
May the peace of God be with you in Jesus name! There is no doubt you have been blessed by this subject of commitment ever since we started this month. Give God a chance by putting to work the things you are reading in this article. Our God is a God of liberation and second chance; He will give you a new beginning, if you let Him! Today, I shall be teaching on the subject: The Place of Voice and Action in Commitment to Your Spouse.
A commitment to love your spouse is not complete until you give voice and action to it. Men can never understand what these three simple words, “I love you” can do to a woman. That is why surprisingly, some men find it difficult to give voice to their commitment.
A man testified during one of our annual conventions that for a long time, he had found it extremely difficult to give voice to his commitment by expressing love to his wife. He obeyed the instruction to do so and things began to change positively in his home.
Expressing love to your legitimate wife or children should not be a difficult thing to do! For some who think it is an unrighteous thing to do, was Jesus unrighteous? Thrice He asked Peter if he loved Him. Remember that Jesus was never married, but His disciples represented His “earthly wife” in a figure. So in essence, He was saying to His “wife”, “I love you; do you love me?”
Don’t read this article without putting its content to work. Husbands, if you have not been giving voice to your commitment, it is time to get started. If you already have, there is still room for improvement. Learn to look straight into her eyes and tell her how much you love her and you will see the change in her countenance.
No matter how spiritual a woman is, she still wants to be told that she is loved. I can tell you this as a woman. I want to hear my husband give voice to his commitment by telling me how much he loves me, and he does! These are some of the things that hold our home together.
However, it is important as a woman that you put action to your commitment. The woman’s part also demands that she respects her husband. I am yet to find a man who hates to be respected! Lack of respect for the husband is what makes some men engage in physical combat with their wives (although this is not to justify such action). How some women address their husbands show they lack an understanding of family government as ordained by God.
Woman, respect is reciprocal; it is give-and-take. If you give respect, you will earn respect. For instance, some wives are too “modern” to greet their husbands. He wakes up in the morning, and she’s staring at him; no word of greetings. But she greets everyone else outside, with a smile for that matter. First, get committed to the success of your marriage and then you will get God committed to your affairs.
Praise your spouse for doing something well or for something you like about him or her. Everyone love to be praised, everyone loves nice things to be said to them. Remember, if you do not compliment your spouse, he or she might not feel appreciated. Appreciating little things creates greater things. Nothing should escape our praise; it motivates the beneficiary to go the extra mile.
While there is a place for words, there is also a place for action in expressing commitment to your spouse. Lending a helping hand, being available, all make a lot of difference in your relationship.
Someone once shared this testimony: “When the Bishop’s wife taught us the course Family Life at the Bible school, one would have thought she had secretly conducted a research on me, because every aspect of the lecture was directed at me. After the second day of the course, I got home to discover that my wife had to carry 20 crates of soft drinks down the road; at the same time trying to get dinner ready.
Unknown to her, I packed all the crates into my car and took them there for her. When I got home, my wife was at the door, excitedly singing and dancing as a result of my new behaviour. That was the service I needed to have rendered in my family. Since then, it has been joy and peace galore!”
Giving action to your commitment is very important to building a successful home. However, the most important thing is to have a relationship with Christ. Without this, every instruction here will be mere stories to you. You need to be born again! If you are not, you should say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

MESSAGE:
The God we serve is not only a God of choice and promise, but also a friendly and loving God. God had a friendly relationship with Abraham, and in Genesis 18:17, God was asking whether He could hide anything from Abraham because of their friendship. As high as God is, He is not ashamed to be friend with the works of His hands.
When you give your life to Christ, He may keep some secrets from you until He tries you and sees that you are ready and worthy of being trusted with divine secrets. In the Kingdom, a child is no different from a servant till the child grows into maturity (Galatians 4:1-2). If you are wise, you will start to obey whatever instructions God gives you, and once you begin to do this, you will start to mature.
God will then start to share some secrets with you, and will wait to see how you handle such privileged information. When He has tested your level of commitment, love and loyalty, and He is satisfied, He will upgrade the relationship by making you His friend. At what level are you operating with God?
Key Point: God wants to upgrade you to the level of friendship but it will take your cooperation and willingness.

MESSAGE:
In the course of daily life, there are always contending and contrasting signals that crave for the attention of the unwary. He that is without a clear focus is often a victim of the push-and-pull tendencies of life.
At this time, Timothy was left in Ephesus by Paul the apostle for a purpose. He charged Timothy to instruct brethren to teach no other doctrine than that which they had been taught. Timothy was warned not to dabble into fables and genealogies which only “minister questions.” While some came to teach false doctrines at Ephesus, there were also some Jews who used the Old Testament law to justify themselves. They were unable to keep the demands of the law and were resistant to the grace of God. They placed great importance on the keeping of correct ancestral records. This attitude left them in spiritual destitution. Timothy was charged to focus and concentrate on those things that edify. He was not to engage in meaningless discussions.
If Timothy was instructed to be careful in his dealings with the legalistic Jews, we need God’s guidance in our dealings with unbelievers today.
As believers and representatives of Christ here on earth, we must not give attention or dissipate energy on irrelevant arguments that do not profit.
We must also heed the charge to refrain from “fables and endless genealogies” that cannot save or take anyone to heaven. We must take our attention away from irrelevant things today and focus on significant spiritual matters. Our preoccupation must be with preaching the whole counsel of God to save and take people to heaven.
Thought For The Day: There’s no gain in winning the argument but losing the soul.

Topic: Know Your Position In Christ [TREM’s Daily Tuesday January 30th, 2018]
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” Ephesians 2:6 (KJV)
The believer is seated in heavenly places. The believer has been raised up to sit in heavenly places. That is your position! That is where God has put you by reason of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Not only that, Romans 8:16 and 17 say: “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
Your second positioning from this scripture is that you are a child of God. You belong to Him because you have been bought at a price. And not only that, you have an inheritance. The bible says: “…. if children then heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ….” You are not only an heir but a joint-heir. When you sign your request before God, it is acceptable as if Jesus signed it. That is your positioning! It was given to you by virtue of what Jesus did on your behalf.
Many times, we don’t regard our positioning and we want to achieve. You can’t achieve without first taking your position. It is your position that commands your circumstance to bow. It is by standing in your position that you have the authority to command your circumstance to bow. Until you take your position the Holy Spirit will have nothing to work with. And so, the devil wants you to begin to look at your circumstance and look at your situation rather than be conscious of your positioning.
If you refuse to take your position, the Holy Spirit who is your helper, your advocate, your standby, your intercessor, your strengthener, your helper and teacher will not work because He does not work with error or falsehood.

Basic Scripture: John 7:37-44, Ephesians 5:26
As I checked into a hotel in a foreign country, I was impressed with the modest room plan and very good bed fabrics. The color of the room was tailor-made to make you sleep and rest. I was very happy and impressed. As soon as I stepped into the bathroom to take my shower, however, I noticed a big sign on the wall: “please don’t take your shower for more than 3 minutes or less, to help us save water for this country and conserve the environment. “I was in sudden shock! However, my shock turned into an outburst or laughter because I could not believe what I was reading. After such a long journey, I felt I deserve a good and longer than for just 3 minutes or less. And indeed, my fear was: will the shower cease after 3 minutes I that was how it was programmed? But thank God I spent more than 3 minutes! But as I was in that shower, today’s devotional broke out in my spirit in an outburst of divine laughter.
And the Holy Ghost is letting you know that the world may limit their physical time for WATER USAGE but you must never place a limit on the time you spend on the WATER OF THE WORD. (today’s second scripture). Never cut your time with God! Never cut your time with the word! Never cut your time with prayers! If your time with the WORD and GOD is not growing, you are a backslider and you are In trouble! If you now rush your shower time with the WORD, then an enemy has nearly captured your destiny! Repent and let a NEW Fire begin today. Cut DOWN TV, social media/internet/telephone time and stay in the shower of your flow with God. This shower shall become a flow that will lead to a mighty river of decoration, mercy, favor, courage, a new fire, sharper spiritual eyes and ears, and you will become a great wonder in the land.

Thought For The Day: The parental and spiritual mantle behind you determines the mountains you can level.
The Scriptures make it clear that there are benefits in parental cover. There are Divine blessings attached to parental cover.
One of the blessings is that your parental cover pushes you to your destiny, making you to take action that guarantees success in life.
In other words, the unction behind you determines the actions of your life; the steps you can take in life are determined by the unction that backs you.
The unction that you are under determines your outcome in life. The anointing that covers you determines your covering and outcome in life.
When you run with the instruction of your spiritual cover, a word uttered through him can give you leverage in life. Where other people are obstructed and hindered by situations, you fly over and soar high above the same situations.
God does not give people their pastors by mistake. God gives you your pastor as a spiritual parental cover.
The parental and spiritual mantle behind you determines the mountains you can level.
There are things I can dare because of the massive generational mantle behind my life and Ministry. Recently, our father in the Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo visited our on-going construction site, the Lord’s Garden and I was so excited because he usually comes with a heavy mantle and utterance that will shift me and the Ministry forward.
If you have a lion backing you, you can confront an elephant or a Hyena. If you know your strength, you can confront any situation.
Beloved, I want you to know that it is not only ability that determines destiny; it is ability plus connectivity that determines productivity. It is possible to be talented and still be resisted; it is possible to be talented and be frustrated, but you cannot be connected to a higher mantle and be resisted by lower devils.
Remember This: The parental and spiritual mantle behind you determines the mountains you can level.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
My husband was at work when I received news about my mom’s cancer diagnosis. I left him a message and reached out to friends and family. None were available. Covering my face with trembling hands, I sobbed. “Help me, Lord.” A resulting assurance that God was with me comforted me through those moments when I felt utterly alone.
I thanked the Lord when my husband came home and support from friends and family trickled in. Still, the calming awareness of God’s presence I sensed in those first few hours of lonely grieving affirmed that God is readily and faithfully available wherever and whenever I need help.
In Psalm 46, the psalmist proclaims God is our sanctuary, strength, and steadfast supporter (v. 1). When it feels as if we’re surrounded by chaos or everything we thought was stable crashes down around us, we don’t have to fear (vv. 2–3). God doesn’t falter (vv. 4–7). His power is evident and effective (vv. 8–9). Our eternal Sustainer gives us confidence in His unchanging character (v. 10). The Lord, our secure stronghold, remains with us forever (v. 11).
God created His followers to prayerfully support and encourage one another. But He also affirms He is always able and available. When we call on God, we can trust Him to keep His promises to provide for us. He will comfort us through His people as well as through His personal presence.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for assuring us You’re always accessible because You’re always with us.
God is always able and available to help us.
Insight:
Being a member of the kingdom of God brings a sense of personal security. In Psalm 46, God’s sovereignty is eloquently compared to a mighty fortress against which the waters of chaos and death can do no harm (vv. 1–3). This brings a response of worship in a troubled world (vv. 4–9). What relief it is to follow the admonition “Be still, and know that I am God,” for God “will be exalted among the nations, [He] will be exalted in the earth” (v. 11). God’s power and presence give an inner stability to the believer that nothing else can. Our righteous God of grace is ready and available wherever and whenever we need help.
