“Your greatest places of warfare will become your greatest places of inheritance!”

This is the phrase the Holy Spirit spoke to me in the fall of 2014 while I was meditating on Psalm 2:7-8. In Psalm 2, we join David in witnessing a day when nations will rage, kings will plot and a generation will declare open war on God, His Word and His plan. David calls it vain. The Father laughs and…

Millennials Poised for a Rapid Rise in an ‘Accelerated Acceleration’ .

(Unsplash/Lindsay Henwood)

A metamorphosis is underway. That’s what I heard the Lord say about 2018—but there’s more to it. The Lord also showed me an acceleration.

Indeed, part of this metamorphosis, which will begin even now and continue in the years ahead, will see an accelerated acceleration.

Accelerate means “to move faster: to gain speed; to progress from grade to grade more rapidly than usual; to bring about at an earlier time; to cause to move faster; to hasten the progress or development…

Jim Caviezel Warns Against ‘Fake Christianity’ in ‘Pagan World’ (Video)

(Screengrab: YouTube)Jim Caviezel speaks at SLS18 in Chicago, Illinois, on January 5, 2018.

Actor Jim Caviezel put on his preacher’s hat during a recent conference held at the Fellowship of Catholic University Students SLS Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois, where he warned those in attendance against false Christianity and urged them to publicly express their faith in “this pagan world.”

Caviezel, who stars in the upcoming film “Paul, Apostle of Christ,” surprised the #SLS18 attendees by sharing a portion of his testimony and encouraging them to be warriors for faith.

He explained that portraying Jesus in Mel Gibson’s box office hit “Passion of the Christ” put him through great physical suffering. He was struck by lightning, had his shoulder separated, and suffered from hypothermia for five months, which later resulted in him needing to have open heart surgery.

“The suffering made my performance, just as it makes our lives,” Caviezel said.

“Some of us now embrace a fake Christianity where it’s all happy talk and all happy Jesus and glory. Guys, there was a lot of pain and suffering before the resurrection. Your path will be no different, so embrace your cross and race toward your goal,” he advised.

The Hollywood star then charged everyone listening to be like…

Open Heavens 28th January 2018: Sunday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Evil Communication

Topic: Evil Communication [Open Heavens Sunday 28th January 2018]

Memorise: “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” – 1 Corinthians 15:33

Read: Proverbs 1:10-19 (KJV)

10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

15 My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

16 For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

Bible in One Year: Exodus 11-12, Romans 3:9-31

MESSAGE

In today’s memory verse, the wisdom of God warns us that evil communication corrupts good manners. A wise person would take this divine warning seriously in order to escape the corrupting influence that associating with evil people will have on his or her good manners. Some people have allowed overconfidence to destroy their lives through careless and even deadly associations. Some young people with bright and promising futures, sent to school to prepare them for fulfilled adult lives, have been derailed through evil associations with destiny destroyers like secret cults, sex-for-hire rings, partying and clubbing friends, drinking, smoking and gambling pals. Our Bible text warns us against the enticement of sinners. The revelation here is that sinners are capable of enticing us; we must therefore be careful not to fall prey of their enticing antics. One bait sinners use in luring good souls into their fold is the promise of material gain and comfort. In Proverbs 1:13-14, the Holy Spirit warns that sinners will say sweet words like these to entice you:

“13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:”

But it’s a lie; the target is your soul.

There are many channels of evil communication. One avenue is through business partnerships. Children of God should be careful of the type of people they partner with in business. Someone who pays his or her tithe regularly may begin to default after forming a business alliance with someone who does not believe in giving God a tenth of his or her income. Gradually, such children of God would begin to rob God, and consequently, the blessings of Abraham they claim as their portion will begin to elude them until they lose it all. Another channel of evil communication is marriage. In Deuteronomy 7:3-4, the Lord gave the children of Israel this injunction on marriage with those who did not share their faith:

“3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. 4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.”

This principle also applies to the Body of Christ today. Those who disobey this injunction never have a good story to tell down the line (1 Kings 11:4). I pray that you will not be a victim of evil communication in Jesus’ Name.

Action Point: Examine the lives of those you associate with, determine those who are a negative influence on you and break off from them.

Hymn 12: Take My Life, And Let It Be

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3.Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose,
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

Flatimes’ Notice Board: Please do not prolong your salvation if you have not repented. Many are going home daily and tomorrow maybe too late.

Holocaust deniers must be proven wrong, Acting Bishop of London says

Rt Rev Pete Broadbent made his comments after speaking during a service at St Mary’s Church in Acton – one of many events held to remember the genocide, in which millions of people died.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “Confound and confute the deniers, ensure a voice to the educators and remembrancers, commit to the work of ensuring that it [the Holocaust] never can happen again.”

Across the country, some congregations invited guest speakers or staged visual displays, while others opened their doors for times of prayer and reflections to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

The international initiative also remembers people have died in atrocities since the Second World War – including genocides in Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

Richard Spencer, an Anglican priest working for the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust in Wales, told Premier: “Some places of worships are holding exhibitions.

“They can be very small ceremonies, [such] as [a] candle-lighting ceremony… a moment’s silence or they can be a little bit more formal, with a bit more detail.”

The Archbishop of Wales, John Davies delivered the blessing at a commemorative event inside the National Ceremony in Cardiff City Hall.

Bishops accused of ‘appalling lack of leadership’ over transgenderism

Andrea Williams, a prominent conservative figure, claimed leaders were abandoning orthodox Biblical teaching by moving towards “uncritically accepting someone’s self-declared gender”.

Mrs Williams (pictured below), herself a member of the Church of England’s governing body – General Synod – said: “Biblically-faithful Christians should not try to read the bishops’ update as an orthodox statement.

“That would be to miss what these words actually communicate to those who read it – particularly those outside the Church.”

Earlier this week, the House of Bishops – one of three houses incorporating the General Synod – said it would not prepare new liturgy to mark gender transition but existing liturgy could be adopted for such a purpose.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the bishops said: “If the enquirer [a person wanting their gender transition recognised by the Church] is already baptized and confirmed, the House notes that the Affirmation of Baptismal Faith, found in Common Worship, is an ideal liturgical rite which trans people can use to mark this moment of personal renewal.”

Commenting on the document, the Bishop of Norwich, Rt Rev Graham James, added: “The Church of England welcomes transgender people and wholeheartedly wishes for them to be included in the life of the Church.”

But Andrea Williams, who founded the…

Steve Chalke says ‘juvenile’ interpretations of Bible endanger gay people

The prominent church leader from London criticised those who interpret scripture literally, suggesting God’s word was influenced by the cultural context of the time it was penned and conservative views on sexuality are out-dated.

In a new video sermon, he said: “My call is to all responsible Church leaders and Christians to re-evaluate their attitude to the Bible and therefore to LGBT people; to work to welcome and celebrate them for who they are, to recognise their relationships and to sanctify their faithful, monogamous marriages.”

The senior leader of Oasis Church Waterloo, who controversially endorsed same-sex couples five years ago, said the Bible has been used throughout history to oppress LGBT communities and undermine women’s rights.

Calling the Church to “right past wrong”, the married father-of-four also urged congregations to become “radical centres of inclusion”.

He went on to say: “We have to face the fact that parts of Scripture have been used by others to justify some of the most inhumane, brutal and repressive episodes in human history…

“And still, the Bible is used by some to condone the death penalty, to keep women subservient to men, to incite Islamophobia, to insist on a ‘young earth’ – anti-scientific – six-day understanding of creation and to abuse the environment.

“All these have been…
