Cast of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ Shared Testimonies on Set; It Was ‘Almost Like Church’

Cast of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ Shared Testimonies on Set; It Was ‘Almost Like Church’

Marvel Comics’ Black Panther film is set to release next month. While the film was being made something incredible happened among the cast.

Faithwire.com reports on what happened being the scenes in the filming of the movie. Actress Sope Aluko, who is an outspoken Christian, said that being on set with her fellow actors and actresses was like being in church.

Aluko worked with talented actors and actresses such as Forest Whitaker, Michael B. Jordan, and Lupita Nyong’o. She shares that there was a culture of kindness and family on set.

“It felt very familiar and like home. We had early call times but I didn’t even feel the long set hours because it was such a good time,” she said. “I didn’t feel like I was amongst stars, everyone was so down to earth and normal.”

The actors and actresses even talked directly about God and shared their testimonies.

“During breaks we shared our testimony of how we got to where did and most of the people were testifying to God’s miracles, it was almost like church.”

Black Panther will be released to theaters on February 16, 2018.

Judge bars ‘Christian’ parents from contacting ‘shackled’ children

David and Louise Turpin are accused of abusing their 13 children – ranging from two to 29 years old – before they were rescued on January 14 from their home in Perris. They have pleaded not guilty to torture and other charges.

A judge signed a protective order on Wednesday prohibiting the couple from contacting their children, except through lawyers or investigators.

Before the brief hearing, Louise Turpin looked at her husband and smiled.

“It protects everyone involved, including my client,” David Turpin’s lawyer, David Macher, said about the order. “I don’t want my client exposed to accusations that he attempted to harass or threaten a witness.”

Louise Turpin appears in court in Riverside, Calif.

Louise Turpin’s lawyer declined to comment after the hearing.

All of the children remain in hospital, Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin said.

Deputies arrested the husband and wife after their 17-year-old daughter climbed out a window and called 911. Authorities allegedly found the siblings in the family’s filthy home, with three of them said to be shackled to beds when deputies knocked on the door.

Investigators have learned that the children were isolated from each other and locked in different rooms in small groups, Mr Hestrin said.

The children did not have access to televisions or radios but…

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback Confirmed as Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback Confirmed as Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom

International Christian Concern (ICC) is pleased to report that the US Senate has confirmed President Trump’s nominee for Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom.  Kansas Governor Sam Brownback takes on the post following his nomination last July by the Trump administration.

The Senate vote split on partisan lines (49-49), which meant that Vice President Mike Pence was needed to cast the deciding vote to confirm his nomination.

News of Gov. Brownback’s confirmation is welcome for many religious freedom advocates, as this ambassadorship has been vacant for nearly a year while the nomination and confirmation process was completed.

The Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, and the International Religious Freedom office as a whole, are responsible for “monitor[ing] religious persecution and discrimination worldwide,” in addition to developing programs and executing policies that encourage freedom of religion or belief. This position is crucial in leading the US government’s efforts to promote religious freedom around the world, and prioritizing this issue in US foreign policy.

Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma is a leading voice on religious freedom in the Senate.  He stated in a press release praising the confirmation, “Confirmation of Sam Brownback as the Ambassador-at-Large sends a message to the world that religious…

Former gymnast tells abusive doctor the gospel in court

The ex-US Olympics gymnastics doctor has been sentenced to 175 years and pleaded guilty to 10 counts of sexual assault against girls and young women.

Rachael Denhollander stood up in court and spoke for 40 minutes to her abuser, saying: “if you have read the Bible you carry, you know forgiveness does not come from doing good things, as if good deeds can erase what you have done. It comes from repentance which requires facing and acknowledging the truth about what you have done.”

She went to on to say he cannot earn Jesus’ forgiveness without facing up to what he has done, “in all of its utter depravity and horror without mitigation”.

Explaining the grace of God to him, Denhollander said forgiveness was available to him: “Should you ever reach the point of truly facing what you have done, the guilt will be crushing.

“And that is what makes the gospel of Christ so sweet. Because it extends grace and hope and mercy where none should be found. And it will be there for you.”

Denhollander added that she wanted him to find repentance: “I pray you experience the soul crushing weight of guilt so you may someday experience true repentance and true forgiveness from God, which you need far more than forgiveness from me-though I extend that to you as well.”

Pastor Greg Locke Reveals His Church Has ‘Dozens and Dozens’ of ‘Precious’ Black Members, Calls Racist Churches ‘Despicable’

(Screenshot: Facebook)Pastor Greg Locke.

Popular internet preacher and leader of Global Vision Bible Church in Tennessee, Greg Locke, proudly revealed Monday that his church has “dozens, and dozens and dozens of precious black folk” and ripped into churches that practice racial discrimination as “despicable.”

Locke revealed in a viral video that he was recently checking the church’s mailbox in Mount Juliet when a black man drove up to him and asked if black people are allowed in his church and he was “floored” that the man would have to ask a question like that.

“He said … ‘Can I ask you a question?’ I said ‘Yes, sir, you can.’ He said, ‘You allow black people to come to this church?’ And to be honest with you I was a little floored by the question and I said ‘Yes, sir. We have dozens, and dozens, and dozens of precious black folk in our church.’ I said ‘We are Global Vision, we have all different backgrounds and races, ethnics and cultures in our church.’ I said ‘You are more than welcome. We would love to have you and your family anytime,'” Locke explained.

“Then he said this: ‘We’ve had a hard time in this area finding a church where we can fit in. We just don’t seem to think people want us there,'” Locke continued before he denounced the churches that would make…

Presidents Club dinner a ‘wake-up call’ for churches to confront sexual harassment

Premier spoke with Christian gender justice specialist after the surfacing of allegations that hostesses were targeted during a Presidents Club dinner – an annual event attended by wealthy and influential figures – last week.

Natalie Collins encouraged congregations to recognise that church communities are not immune from sexual impropriety, and they should take seriously the claims of women who say they have been abused.

She explained: “As Christians, we like to think that our communities are safe.

“We like to think that we’re able to judge accurately whether somebody is a safe person to be around.

“What we often see, particularly when Christians are accused of bad behaviour of any sort, there is often a lot of people who come to their defence… because their experience of this person has been good.

“It’s about us all being willing to open our hearts and minds to the fact we may not be fully able to know whether somebody is or isn’t abusive…”

The spotlight fell on the Presidents Club after the Financial Times sent two undercover reporters to the black-tie dinner at the Dorchester Hotel last Thursday.

The Charity Commission said it is investigating the allegations, while dozens of MPs have demanded to know whether any crimes were committed.

Reacting to the allegations, Prime Minister Theresa May said she was…
