​4 Key Characteristics Of A Faithful Christian

If you are a Christian, you assuredly want to hear Jesus say to you someday, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” but it’s one thing to desire this and another to be walking the straight and narrow path. These four characteristics are essential living out the Christian life faithfully. Although many godly traits are attributed to faithfulness, these four are vitally important. How can we increase faith and serve God with all of our heart? Here are just four ways:

Pastor Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Sex With Teenager; Judge Denies Probation

A repentant Alabama pastor who confessed to luring a 15-year-old member of his church into sexual acts with the promise of teaching her how to play the piano was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday.

Pastor Camerius Mills was the 29-year-old leader of St. Paul’s Baptist Church when he was arrested in 2015 and charged with rape, sodomy, and traveling to meet a child for the purpose of unlawful sex. He had served in the position for about three years.

“He was a pastor and he had befriended this young lady in his congregation,” Sheriff’s Investigator Keith Cauthen, who arrested Mills, told the Dothan Eagle in the summer of 2016. “He picked her up under the pretenses on teaching her the piano.”

Cauthen said Mills first met the teenager when she started attending his church in November 2014. It wasn’t until February 2015 that Mills initiated unlawful contact.

“He knew better, he was a pastor. He befriended her and he took advantage of her,” Cauthen added. “With the Henry County Sheriff’s Office our goal is to protect the citizens, and we’re going to make sure he does not prey on anyone else again.”

The Diocese of Down and Connor has also told priests to disinfect their hands before distributing Holy Communion, while offering wine from a shared chalice has been temporality stopped.

The measures have been taken as a strain of influenza known as Australian flu is contributing to pressures on the NHS this winter.

Fr Edward McGee told Premier why Catholics shouldn’t oppose the measures.

Speaking during Premier’s News Hour, he said: “Our faith tells us – yes we act in faith but also that God gifted us with the gift of reason.

“So we also must respond [to] the advice and guidance of those that are experts in this area.

“The healthcare professionals are the instrument of God’s care in the world as well.

“So to follow their advice is actually to cooperate with the grace of God in trying to respond in the most reasonable and rational and caring way to those who are vulnerable in our society at this time.”

The priest said the church was told by a public health agency to do more to prevent the very infectious strain of Influenza.

He explained: “They indicated that we move beyond pre-epidemic thresholds.

“The indications now are that the Australian flu has quite a severe impact on people.”

The diocese last implemented infection prevention measures during the swine flu epidemic in 2009.

Justin Bieber Posts Photo of Himself Reading Scripture


Pop star Justin Bieber has been quite vocal about his Christian faith. Recently, he posted a picture of himself reading God’s Word.


Bieber often uses social media to speak to his millions of followers about his renewed faith and testimony.


The Instagram picture shows Bieber displaying his many tattoos, some of which are biblically-themed, with an open Bible in his lap.


CBN News reports that Bieber also recently posted a picture of a cross which he titled “Calvary.” He was auctioning the picture to raise money for victims of the California wildfires.


Also last month Bieber posted a photo of a handwritten message meant to encourage his followers:


“Do you feel you have exhausted all options? Do you feel helpless? Do you feel like you are never good enough? What if I told you that there’s a God that’s willing to meet you WHEREVER you’re at!  What if I told you he could take away your pain, shame, guilt, and fears. #JESUS,” he posted, adding, “Jesus is changing me from the inside out every day!”


Bieber is often seen attending Hillsong Church and spending time with several pastor friends he has made and who reportedly mentor him.

Andy Savage, teaching pastor at the popular Highpoint Church Memphis in Tennessee, admitted Friday that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl while he was her youth pastor 20 years ago but he repented immediately.

Savage’s admission comes after an online uproar over his past after his now grown-up victim, who goes by the name Jules Woodson, described in graphic detail to The Wartburg Watch how Savage coerced her into performing oral sex on him on a dark Texas dirt road when he should have taken her straight home to her mother’s house.

“As a college student on staff at a church in Texas more than 20 years ago, I regretfully had a sexual incident with a female high school senior in the church. I apologized and sought forgiveness from her, her parents, her discipleship group, the church staff, and the church leadership, who informed the congregation. In agreement with wise counsel, I took every step to respond in a biblical way,” Savage said in a statement about the incident that took place while he served at Woodlands Parkway Baptist Church, now known as StoneBridge Church.

Theresa May was forced to refresh her team on Monday following the resignation of Damian Green after he admitted lying over pornography on his office computer.

 

Tory MP, Derek Thomas told Premier Christians should pray for politicians who lose their jobs.

He said: “What will happen today is some people will be promoted and will be very happy.

“It’s quite a dramatic thing to lose your jobs and I think it will be good for Christians to pray for those that are sacked and lose jobs or are moved aside.

“I’ve seen how MPs who have put so much into working in a particular job or in a position to get a promotion… how they respond when it goes wrong and… it would be the right thing to pray for those that lose their jobs.”

Former justice secretary David Lidington was appointed to Mr Green’s old position of Minister for the Cabinet Office, but did not inherit the title of First Secretary of State.

Downing Street confirmed Chancellor Philip Hammond, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, Home Secretary Amber Rudd and Brexit Secretary David Davis are all keeping their current jobs.

New Report Shows Countries Where Christian Persecution is Expected to Increase in 2018


A new report highlighting the countries where persecution and attacks on Christians is expected to increase has been released.


The annual Persecution Trends Report, from the U.K.-based group Release International, said that those countries include China, India and Nigeria.


In China, a “key country of concern for 2018,” Christians could face stricter restrictions. In some districts, Santa Claus and Christmas hats have already been banned.


The country is expected to impose more restrictions in February, when the community country takes control over some places of worship.


“Those new rules will mean unregistered house churches will face increasingly tough measures to control their activities,” the report says.


Under the regulations, anyone who organizes unapproved religious activities will be fined up to $45,000. Anyone providing a place to host those unapproved activities could face a fine up to $30,100.


In 2017, 13 Chinese Christians were imprisoned for attending a Sunday service at a house church. A pastor was tortured and sentenced to 12 years in prison, and some Christians who owned devotionals were sentenced to seven years in prison for possessing the books.


In Nigeria, the Fulani herdsmen, who are trying to drive Christians away, have attacked Christian villages.
