The church can often feel like a big zoo where Christians, especially youths, are placed in their safe cages and constantly fed, said popular speaker Francis Chan.
Speaking at the Chinese Missions Convention in Ontario, Canada, on Wednesday, Chan lamented the fact that churches do not understand the power that God has given each believer, and instead keep them in “cages” where the only way they can survive is if someone feeds them.
These cages include the children’s ministry cage, youth ministry cage, singles cage, and married couples cage, he noted.
“Let’s just put everyone in their cages and let’s just feed them every week and our whole job is to just keep feeding you, feeding you, and feeding you when the reality is you were made for something more,” Chan emphasized.

International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that following today’s conclusion of mass at Mar Mina Church in Helwan City, terrorists attacked the church as congregants were exiting to attend Sunday School. One of the attackers was wearing a suicide vest and attempted to enter the church, but was prevented by police.
One of the Sunday School teachers, Ihab, shared with ICC, “Following the end of the church mass, as the congregation of the church began to leave and I began to collect the children to start Sunday School, we heard shooting outside the church. There was a situation of terror among all the people inside the yard: they all were screaming and running. The situation was terrible, the sound of the shooting was very dense and lasted more than 20 minutes. Many of the congregation who were in the church yard preparing to leave hurried inside when they heard the shooting. They hid inside the church and closed its inside door.”
He continued, “The situation was very terrible, it was like war against the church, the sound of the shooting was very terrifying. Those terrorists used automatic weapons.”

Elon Musk’s “midnight cherry” Tesla Roadster is already creating a huge buzz even before it leaves for Mars. A tourist visiting the launch site at Cape Canaveral, Florida took some snaps of the SpaceX mega rocket containing the car being driven out of its hangar possibly to be prepped for the launch which is set to be held next month.
The photo showed the closed and sealed fairing being hauled out on to the tarmac. The presence of two employees gives one an idea of just how massive the rocket set to carry the fairing into space is.
According to SpaceX, the Falcon Heavy will be capable of lifting into orbit more than 119,000 lbs – the mass equivalent to a 737 jetliner loaded with passengers, crew, luggage and fuel. The launch is also the maiden flight of the rocket which Musk boasted will have double the thrust of the next largest rocket in use, the Delta 4 Heavy. As for the payload, Musk suggests that using his own roadster is part publicity and part whim.
“Test flights of new rockets usually contain mass simulators in the form of concrete or steel blocks. That seemed extremely boring,” Musk said. “Of course, anything boring is terrible, especially companies, so we decided to send something unusual, something that made us feel. The payload will be an original Tesla Roadster, playing Space Oddity, on a billion year elliptic Mars orbit.”

MESSAGE:
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1
It is clear from the above scripture that in God’s timetable, there is a time for everything. Life is split into different seasons. There is a time to weep and a time to laugh; there is also a time to mourn and a time to dance (Ecclesiastics 3:4). One lesson here is that every man is expected to go through the ups and downs of life. In order words, if you go through a weeping season, you will equally go through a laughing season. If you have experienced a season of mourning, you will also experience a season of dancing. However, if all you experience is the down seasons, something is most likely wrong somewhere. The forces of darkness, together with their human agents, often do what they can to manipulate their victims so that they never experience the good seasons of life. Every evil plot against you that is geared towards separating you from your good seasons shall come to naught in Jesus’ Name!
“But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.” Luke 16:25
In Luke 16:19-31, the Lord told the story of a rich man and a certain beggar named Lazarus. These two characters experienced different seasons on earth that contrasted greatly with the seasons they found themselves eternally living in after they died. While the rich man enjoyed a good season on earth, he found himself in an unending season of torment in eternity. On the other hand, Lazarus experienced very bad seasons while on earth, but he found himself enjoying an unending season of joy in eternity. One crucial lesson here is that if your stay on earth is just to enjoy yourself without giving consideration to having a good relationship with God, be prepared to spend an eternity without God. If you live life without Christ, you will live an eternity separated from God. In other words, how you live today will determine the permanent season you will experience in eternity. What season are you bringing upon yourself for eternity? In our Bible reading, rich men living in so much affluence and engaging in the excesses of the rich were asked to mourn over the evil season that would befall them in time to come. Are you going through a bad season in life? You shall soon enter a new season of joy in Jesus’ Name. If you are in Christ, that season of joy will lead to a permanent season of joy in eternity. Thank God for your new season of joy. Hallelujah!

Indonesia reduced the sentences of more than 9,000 Christian prisoners on Christmas Day, according to reports.
According to Jakarta Post, Indonesia’s Law and Human Rights Ministry cut down the sentences of 9,333 Christian prisoners.
“Of the total, 175 inmates were freed upon receiving remissions,” a Law and Human Rights Ministry official told reporters.
The changes in sentences came because of administration considerations and consideration for the type of crimes jailed for.
“If an embezzler wants a remission, for instance, they must first obtain justice collaborator status,” the official said.
The length of sentence reduction received depended on how much time had already been served. Reductions varied from 15 days to a maximum of two months, with the month-long reduction mostly given to prisoners who had already served from one to three years.
One of the Christians whose sentence was reduced was former Jakarta governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, who was sentenced to two years in prison after he was falsely accused of blasphemy in 2016.
The former governor was used in an edited Facebook video that showed him allegedly blaspheming the Quran, although Purnama had really issued a warning against politicians who used the Quran for political advancement.
The video led to protests of Purnama and a call for punishment.
