Our Daily Manna December 11, 2017: ODM devotional – Trust Is A Curse!

Topic: Trust Is A Curse! [Monday, December 11, 2017]

Basic Scripture: Jeremiah 17:1-10

Welcome today’s devotional encounter with these questions as our leading signposts: “What is one of the fastest issues that can kindle the fire of the anger of God?” “What made great men like John F. Kennedy, Julius Caesar, Captain Sankara of Burkina Faso, Chief M.K.O Abiola, General  Murtala Mohammed of Nigeria, etc, to die before their time?” And the answers are in just four words: Trust in a man!”

I was a little boy then, but never forget Lt. Col. B. Dimka, the assassin of my most respected Head of State till date, Gen. Murtala Mohammed was one of his closest friend in Nigeria Army then! As you use this devotional today, heaven is sounding an alarm in your life: “Cursed is the man that trusteth in man and maketh flesh his arm.” WOW! To TRUST in is a CURSE! Vs. 9 of our Basic Scripture declares further: “The heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked;  who can know it?”

Yes! The heart of man is a tyrant and a monster! In your life and ministry, you will meet and work with lots of people. Don’t trust any! It is deadly! Love people! Don’t trust people! Of course love believes all things, but love does not trust anything except God. Your absolute trust must be in God alone. Give people, “half trust” or what I call, ‘Social Trust.” Heaven is repeating this warning so much again, for the sake of someone using this devotional! Catch it! Avoid dying before your time! Some will please you, while many (including close associates) will hurt you! Decide to forgive people in advance because, the heart of man is full of deceit and whether you like it or not, some of your closest allies will hurt you.

The closer you walk with God, the less room for anything to come between. Never trust man! Never! You will end this year well in Jesus name!

GET MIDWEEK FIRE PRAYERS! SEND ME YOUR WHATSASPP NO TODAY! I am led to send prophetic warnings and MIDWEEK FIRE PRAYERS to all ODM users (most Wednesdays/Fridays)! Include Your City And Country!

Prayer Points: Take a song of worship unto God as led now.

1. In your own words, pray about today’s word as led.

2. Repent and pray: I shall not trust in man again.

3. Commit your spouse, your best friend, etc, to God. Pray that they will not be used against you.

4. I release forgiveness to (mention those that have hurt you this year or in the past).

5. By the Blood of Jesus, I break every curse on my life and ministry as a result of trusting men. Lord, heal/refresh me again in Jesus name.

6. Pray about TODAY and the last days of 2017. Loose RESTORATION!

Seeds of Destiny 11 December 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Spirituality – Key To Security

Topic: Spirituality – Key To Security [Monday December 11, 2017]

Scripture: I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong. Romans 1:11

Thought For The Day: The intensity of your spirituality guarantees the security of your destiny

Sometime ago, I heard a testimony of a member of our church who embarked on a trip to somewhere. She boarded a bus with other passengers and beckoned on the passengers to join her in prayer for a safe trip. Surprisingly, they all refused, except a lady. So, they both prayed as the journey continued.

Beloved, shortly after the prayer, she fell into a trance and an angel of God appeared to her using my face and appearance. According to her, the angelic being sat beside her in the bus and said to her: ‘Where blood is wasted, yours shall never be wasted’, and gave her a thousand Naira note instructing her to step out of the bus. Immediately she gained consciousness from the trance, she narrated the encounter to the young lady who agreed to pray with her, and they both alighted from the bus even though they had no money to pay another fare in order to continue the journey.

Incidentally, as they were waiting by the road side, a private car pulled over in front of them and the driver, a man they had never met before said, ‘Young girls, this is a dangerous spot for you. Please leave this place immediately.’ After that, he gave them Five Thousand Naira (N5000.00) and drove off.

Now, something really shocking happened. The bus they alighted from was involved in a fatal road traffic accident that claimed the lives of everyone on board save a little child whose mother also died. That was very tragic!

That was how God saved the sister and her companion. The truth is, the place you give to God determines where you find yourself in time and eternity. The intensity of your spirituality guarantees the security of your destiny. Your depth in God determines your safety in life. Who surrounds you determines what you can survive.

Today, I prophesy to you, in this December, where blood is wasted, yours shall NEVER be wasted. You are preserved, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: The intensity of your spirituality guarantees the security of your destiny.

Assignments:

1. Never neglect any call or attempt that is calculated at drawing you closer to your Maker

2. Go deeper in God in praying, fasting, studying of the Word and in worship in order to intensify your spiritual fire.

Prayer: LORD, I ask for Your grace to know you more. Deliver me from spiritual lukewarmness, lethargy or weakness, in Jesus’ Name.

Christianity is a faith with a long and detailed history, with numerous events of lasting significance occurring throughout the ages.

Each week brings the anniversaries of great milestones, horrid tragedies, amazing triumphs, telling tribulations, inspirational progress, and everything in between.

Here are just a few things that happened this week, Dec. 10-16, in Church history. They include Mother Teresa’s Nobel Prize speech, a Puritan petition to Parliament, and a Medieval pope resigning from office.

Memorise: I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.Psalm 116:17

Read: Psalm 116:17-19 (KJV)

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

18 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

19 In the courts of the LORD’S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

Bible in One Year: Psalm 142-150, Haggai 1:1-11, Hymn: Sing Hymn 8 – Great Is Thy Faithfulness

MESSAGE:

If you have been washed in the precious blood of the lamb, thanking God for the salvation of your soul is something you need to do daily for the rest of your life. Some people throw parties to celebrate milestones and achievements in different areas of life, but Jesus said that what should give us the greatest joy is the fact that we are saved and have our names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Luke 10:20). That your name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life is a great testimony that you should regularly thank God for whenever you pray.
However, giving thanks to God is not always a very easy thing to do, particularly if you have been going through a spate of negative and very sad events or experiences. In such situations, thanking God requires sacrifice. Our God loves sacrifices – particularly a sacrifice of thanksgiving. No wonder the Psalmist says thus in Psalm 116:17

“I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.”
When you offer thanksgiving to God at a time when every situation in your life is saying that He doesn’t deserve it or that He has forsaken you, it is sacrificial.
Similarly, your thanksgiving is sacrificial when you thank God even when he has not granted your request. This is an expression of faith. Sacrificial thanksgiving glorifies God and proves to Him that your faith in Christ has spiritual substance. Do you know that most people remember to thank God only when they believe He has “earned it’? Such people live by a personal philosophy which says “whenever God does something for me, only then will I give Him thanks in return.” Such an attitude is simply calculative and myopic. There are so many things God does for us every day which we take for granted as normal everyday occurrences, but the truth is, nothing is ever really “normal”, and every day comes with its challenges. Those who give God a sacrifice of thanksgiving do so because they choose to. They choose to see things from God’s perspective, which makes them see reasons why they ought to be grateful to God, even when other people cannot see any reason why.
Action Point: Apply the lessons learnt in today’s study to offer God a sacrificial thanksgiving today.
Hymn 8: Great Is Thy Faithfulness
1. Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be
Chorus:
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me
2. Summer and winter and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love
3. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.

Christian charity gets £25,000 raised from ‘world’s biggest sleepout’ to end homelessness

More than 8,000 people braved icy temperatures and spent the night in the city’s Princes Street Gardens as part of “the world’s biggest sleepout”.

The Sleep in the Park event was organised by Josh Littlejohn, co-founder of Social Bite, which helps the homeless through cafes, a restaurant and fundraising events.

The charity donated the money to Bethany Christian Trust to fund extra capacity at its winter care shelter.

Speaking as the event unfolded, Mr Littlejohn said: “I’m blown away by the amount of people who have turned out.

“It looks like we’re going to have about 8,000 people come and sleep out which is mind-blowing really for a country like Scotland, a small country, to get behind a cause like that.

“That’s going to translate to somewhere in the region of between £3 million and £4 million that’s going to be raised. It’s an absolutely incredible result and I’m really humbled by it.”

So far, more than £3.6m has been donated.

Sir Bob Geldof and Scottish Deputy First Minister John Swinney joined in by sleeping out in freezing conditions in the Scottish capital.

John Cleese performed a bedtime story, while Liam Gallagher and Deacon Blue were among the entertainment.

Fundraising is open until Christmas Eve and donations can be made at www.sleepinthepark.co.uk

Former Christian judge renews calls for civil partnerships for heterosexual couples

The private member’s bill led by Tory MP Tim Loughton is expected to receive government’s backing when it gets its second reading in February.

Sir Paul Coleridge, who also founded the Marriage Foundation, told The Sunday Times why he endorsed Loughton’s plans.

He explained: “What matters is that people make a decisive, truthful commitment to each other before they enter into a relationship which leads to children.”

His comments come as the Equal Civil Partnerships group is supporting a couple challenging the legalities preventing them from entering a heterosexual civil partnership.

Charles Keidan and Rebecca Steinfeld say they don’t want to get married, but want legal recognition of their relationship

The couple lost their Court of Appeal bid in February to have civil partnership opened up to them too.

They will have their case heard in the Supreme Court in May.

Currently only homosexual couples in the UK can become civil partners. In other European countries heterosexual civil partnerships exist as an alternative to getting married.
