MESSAGE:
The Scriptures declare that wisdom is a major asset we must acquire (Proverb 4:7). To get wisdom, you have to first lay its foundation stones with knowledge. What you know can determine your position in life. It was what Joseph knew, together with the ability to interpret dreams that God used to move him from the prison to the throne (Genesis 41:1-44). In other words, the stop-gap between you and your place of destiny is knowledge. Can you truthfully say that you know enough to get you to your place of destiny? If your answer is in the negative, then start acquiring knowledge today. In many corporate organizations, preference is given to those who have acquired more knowledge than others. This is why there is a tendency to select employees with higher degrees for higher positions in these organizations. So don’t just remain stagnant in knowledge, acquire more of it! Enroll for higher degrees and relevant online or offline training programmes to position yourself for a more successful career ahead of time. What you know can promote you and bring you before kings.
Furthermore, what you know can deliver you from death. No wonder the Lord, in Hosea 4:6a, said:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:”
It was the information Daniel and his colleagues received from God that delivered them and the rest of the wise men of Babylon from death. In other words, what you don’t know can kill you. Ignorance is not just a disease, but a killer – a worse killer than some diseases. Ignorance is a terrible destroyer! Lack of knowledge can lead to a lot of wasteful spending. For example, if a person doesn’t know the importance of maintaining good hygiene, he or she will fall sick often and waste money on treatments that could have been avoided. Do you know that many people are being taken advantage of by the devil because they do not know their rights and privileges in God’s kingdom? They do not know that they have been healed by the stripes of Jesus, and so they continue in sickness. If you fail to know that Jesus has paid the price for you to be rich, you will remain in poverty and even celebrate it like some people do today. What do you know?
Action Point: If you do not yet have a degree and you are less than 60 years, consider enrolling for one.

AIDS killed his wife in 2013, and his 13-year-old daughter the next year. And when his flock found out that Mutuse himself tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, many abandoned him — and some thought his diagnosis justified the burning of his church.
In Nthange — a small sleepy trading center about 125 miles east of the Kenyan capital where Mutuse pastors Deliverance Church — AIDS has wrecked havoc. The same is true of much of the continent. In 2016, nearly 20 million people were living with the HIV virus in Eastern and Southern Africa, representing the vast majority of people carrying the virus worldwide, according to the U.N.
As in many Kenyan towns, where Christianity and African traditional religion mix freely, people in Nthange dread the virus. Under the giant baobab trees, and in coffee and tea shops, they speak of it in whispers. Those who contract the virus face exclusion once their HIV-positive status becomes known.

Shoppers at the 125 stores in East Anglia will be able to pick up the “perfectly edible” items from Monday as part of a campaign by the chain to reduce its impact on the environment.
Tinned goods and dried food which carry “best before” dates, rather than “use by” dates, will be included in the scheme.
According to the Food Standards Agency, the “best before” date is about quality, not safety, and food is safe to eat after this date but may be past its prime.
Roger Grosvenor, joint chief executive of East of England Co-op, said: “This is not a money-making exercise, but a sensible move to reduce food waste and keep edible food in the food chain.
“By selling perfectly edible food we can save 50,000 plus items every year that would otherwise have gone to waste.
“The vast majority of customers understand they are fine to eat.”
The Food Standards Agency estimates the UK throws away millions of tonnes of food every year, the majority of which could have been eaten.
The East of England Co-op’s campaign, entitled The Co-op Guide to Dating, will run with the slogan “Don’t be a binner. Have it for dinner!”
Welcoming the move, Paul Cook said: “It’s really good news. A third of all food produced in the world goes to waste and there is a huge amount of carbon and greenhouse gas emissions that goes into producing and transporting that food.

Vice President Mike Pence recently spoke about the role of faith in the Trump administration, and stated that “President Trump is a believer and so am I.”
In an interview with CBN News’s David Brody, Pence said that he and President Trump are deeply grateful for the support they have received from evangelical Christians.
“I think President Trump has a heart of gratitude for evangelical Christians in this country,” Pence stated. “I have to tell you, the sweetest words the president and I ever hear, and we hear them a lot, are when people grab us by the hand and say, ‘We’re praying for you.'”
Pence also affirmed that both he and the President are committed to the Christian faith and prioritize prayer in their administration:
“I’ve been with this president in the Oval Office, with religious leaders, when people have asked to pause for a moment of prayer and the president readily embraces that….President Trump is a believer and so am I. And we understand the role of faith in the life of this nation, and the American people I think can be encouraged to know that in President Donald Trump, they have a leader who embraces and respects and appreciates the role of faith and the importance of religion in the lives of our families in communities in our nation and he always will.”
Pence also discussed the greatest successes and challenges of the first year in office.

Mr Phillips, who’s being defended by religious freedom charity Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), says he shouldn’t be forced to do something against his religious beliefs.
The cake maker from Masterpiece Cakeshop was told in 2014 by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission that it was unlawful to refuse the work and that he should re-educate his staff.
Two years earlier he had declined an order claiming his faith meant he could not design a cake promoting same sex marriage.
With the backing of religious freedom charity Alliance Defending Freedom, lawyers for Mr Phillips say the government cannot coerce Phillips to create artistic expression that communicates a message with which he fundamentally disagrees.
They’re calling on justices to affirm his constitutional right to refuse the order.
Speaking about the impact the case could have on Christians across the USA, Jeremey Tedesco from ADF said: “If the government has the power to coerce Jack Phillips to create artistic expression that violate his beliefs then it ultimately has that power over all of us.
“The principle established in this case is going to be very important moving forward.”
The case mirrors the legal action faced by Ashers Bakery in Norther Ireland.
The owners were found to have discriminated against a customer based on his sexual orientation after they refused to make a cake which said ‘support gay marriage’.
